I keep stopping strangers in the street to ask them if they like their prams! I'm set in having one with a proper carrycot rather than the bugabo bee with it's cocoon. I think they look lovely and will be warm and cosy in the Jan winter.

ViviPru · 18/07/2014 08:06

Camsie I was so tempted to so that at the gym when I saw someone with the Phil and Teds, I was only 8weeks though and no sniff of a bump so worried she'd think I was a loon.

Kate it sounds logical doesn't it. PIL wouldn't mind paying for something else but they have this 'thing' that they buy the pushchair, they're also buying one for SIL now too. And it woul be soooo nice to have a brand new one that's exactly what we chose I plan to test the Quinny out on the mega rugged footpaths behind our house and see how it fares...

More crazy dreams here. There were goats being slaughtered on my doorstep and there were psychadelic lights in my house acting as a time machine meaning I saw two versions of my husband, one from the past and one from the present. Feeling traumatised this morning.

dec we are also in need of a double. I like the mountain duet as its one of the narrower side by sides and takes a carrycot and car seat as well as pushchair. I also made the mistake of looking at second hand bugaboo donkeys which are about the same price as a new mountain duet. But they are loada bigger in terms of chassis and a bit bigger for width which makes doorways difficult when its in double mode. But I like that it converts back to a single so we could sell our current one now.

The vista chassis is massive but that also means you get a big shopping basket. Also it can convert to a double if you are planning on having another close together.

RPopz · 18/07/2014 09:27

We looked at the Xplory as I liked the highness of it... it's not very attractive tho and the push handle thing is really odd... I wasn't a fan. Plus it's ££££!

RPopz · 18/07/2014 09:29

Vivi - my mum is same - adamant on buying our pram (it was literally one of the first things she said when we told her about the baby!!). Might offer to go halves on it though, not sure if she realises how expensive they are!

RPopz · 18/07/2014 09:29

Oops.

Off to Google joolz saras Wink

blizy · 18/07/2014 09:34

Ohhh i love a bit of pram chat, I'm a bit of a pramaholic. We are between the mamas and papas sola and the baby style oyster.
I have had the out n about nipper twin and I currently have the baby jogger city mini twin for work, they are both fab doubles, loads of room but also narrow enough to fit through doors and the are so easy and light to push.
Right, go to go the twins will be here in 10 mins. Hope you all have a great day. I have soft play and a trip to the park planned.

So weird dream last night. Pennywise the clown was after me but in the end i figured out i just had to say "GO" and he disappeared. Then I dreamed I had two young kids and I was telling hubby when they were older we'd take them to Disneyland. That was a nice dream :)

Saraswati · 18/07/2014 10:27

Yeah I thought the same about the stokke rpopz the handle thing is weird. I mostly like the joolz because it is high and the handle is tan leatherette and I want the pushchair to be navy which I think goes nicely with the tan. I'm in it mostly for the looks! I stopped someone who had one the other day to ask about it and she loved it, plus you don't see many of them around, I like to be different (awkward).

The thing I disliked about the bugaboo cameleon is when the carrycot is on you can't get to the shopping basket easily, the gap between the bottom of the carrycot and the basket is tiny so would be very hard to get any shopping in there. Presuming I use the carrycot for around 6 months I think that would really piss me off! DH said he will look at prams at 20 weeks but won't let me order until i'm at least 30 weeks :o I can see his point but what if the baby comes early?! when are you guys thinking of actually buying yours?

Minibagel · 18/07/2014 10:44

I would order it after the 20w scan sara as some places have a lead time. Most independent shops will keep them for you to collect closer to the birth. Just take home your car seat and base if you're getting one and put it in the car from 36 weeks just in case.

It's different for us as its our second. We'll probably buy it later because we can always use a sling at first. We'll be getting another car seat base and putting the newborn seat in the car in good time though.

Saraswati · 18/07/2014 11:20

good point mini I will use that against DH! He leaves everything to the last minute normally and it drives me mad, you just can't do that with a baby. Plus I have two risk factors for a premature/early baby so it's best to be prepapred I think. It's good to know we don't have to have it in the house, I think that's what he was worried about he's as superstitious as me, failing that we could always store it at my mums.

ViviPru · 18/07/2014 11:24

I really love the look of the Xplory, RPopz! Especially in the grey (natch) it's a proper understated design classic. I read its supposed to be a bit style-over substance though, and not that user-friendly... And it's not rugged enough for me.

Plus it's the preserve of the hipster parent set - check out Shutterbox's Instagram feed for all the proof you need... Mini you're probs familiar with Shutterbox? Or "Rufusâ„¢" as my friends an I snarkily call them Blush

KateTheHuman · 18/07/2014 12:19

Just had 16 week appointment. Midwife found the heartbeat straight away. So chuffed. 148bpm. :-)

Garfieldloveslasagna · 18/07/2014 12:46

Just ordered bambinos new pushchair, slightly worried as I'm only just coming up to 16 weeks but I loove it and its a complete bargain Smile

Dec2013mummy · 18/07/2014 13:35

Mini I plan on selling the single anyway as my thought was that by the time we are back to needing a single then a cheaper pushchair will do as it will be easier to cart around etc!! Oooohhhh the choices!! And the prices shock

Dec2013mummy · 18/07/2014 13:35

That was supposed to be Shock

missdonsol · 18/07/2014 13:48

Good pram talk, can't believe the choice...or the prices!

My dreams are crazy too kate. Glad you had a good appointment and got to hear the heartbeat.

RPopz · 18/07/2014 14:18

It looked better on the website than it did irl Vivi - to me anyway.

I'm going to buy ours next payday I think! Am totally smitten with it. Tho Mr P won't allow it in the house until the baby's born.... Hmm so will have to live at my Mums I guess!!

Should probably testy before my 13 hour nightshift tonight but instead have been overtaken by a cleaning frenzy! Shock Bit early for nesting innit??

RPopz · 18/07/2014 14:19

*be resting!!!

Saraswati · 18/07/2014 14:20

my colleague just guessed i'm pregnant, shit. I think I can trust her, boss is back week after next so I'll have to spill the beans then before someone else gets to her, how did you all tell your work? did you tell hr first or your boss?

RPopz · 18/07/2014 15:21

How'd she guess? Apparently EVERYONE I work with guessed although only one person was rude enough to actually ask me. I told a close friend at work (who I knew I could trust) as soon as I found out. I told my line manager and boss at about 7 weeks - as I was having my appraisal anyway. Not sure when I would have done it otherwise x
