Meant to add I'm 9+1

MightyQuin1201 · 22/06/2014 10:44

I'm still a whole month away from the third trimester so I'm beginning to wonder if I should move to February thread as I feel so far behind many people on here. Where are the 9 weekers? I think that Blitzy might be one?

Emmie10 · 22/06/2014 11:06

Well I had a second scan on Friday and area of separation has all healed and dates are exactly where they should be Smile
I will be putting off buying any maternity clothes for as long as possible. I was so fed up of the sight of them by the time dd was born that I will be keeping then to the minimum! I have a pair of jeans, work trousers, a dress and a coat left over from last time that I will use again so don't need to so too much shopping! I just bought the same size I usually wore and they fitted fine with more space to grow up until dd was born.
I will be taking my preg vitamins for the whole pregnancy and until I finish breastfeeding (as is the advice here).

RPopz · 22/06/2014 11:10

I've been wondering the same Vivi. I've just been taking Boots own folic acid+ vitamin D. Not many left now and 12 weeks next week. My diet has been pretty poor recently due to ms though so I think I'll get a pregnancy multivitamin when it runs out and take that until hopefully I fancy fruit and veg again!!

RPopz · 22/06/2014 11:10

Great news Emmie Smile

blizy · 22/06/2014 11:17

Yip mighty, 9 weeks today for me. I'm staying on this thread, I will definitely giving birth in January, I will be induced or having an elcs at 37/38 weeks.

MightyQuin1201 · 22/06/2014 11:24

I'm having an elcs too, so definitely a January arrival. I just feel so behind on this thread sometimes! I'm having a scan on the 7th July as I'm having the Harmony test done & they're doing it at 11 weeks instead of 10 as my menstrual cycle was always about 32 days. NHS 12 week scan is on the 15th when I'll be 12+3...

Loobyloo893 · 22/06/2014 11:54

I'm 9+3 mighty. There are a few of us about Smile

ViviPru · 22/06/2014 12:00

cheshire that's a good point about sticking with; you hear so many people have adverse reactions to vits, so while the pregnacare seems to agree with me I may as well continue with it...

mummyk8 · 22/06/2014 12:18

Thanks BethsBaba & Madrigals. I kind of knew it was a stupid thing to do as I was doing it.

Had horrendous sort of sharp strained muscle feeling in my lower left pelvis last night after changing leg position in bed. It only laster a couple of minuets if that but ended up having awful dreams all night in between waking up to go to the toilette every 2 to 3 hours. Ug, wish I had a fast forward button to Thursday (scan day)!

dec what a nightmare. We moved about two months ago I know how stressful that can be. The show home tidying is the worst.Good luck.

Starbright24 · 22/06/2014 12:23

I just bought a load more pregnacare...think I need the multivits at the moment with my carb diet. I did managea load of grapes yesterday so hohopefully getting back to normal.

I dug out my maxi dress yesterday. Loving wearing it and wondering if I can get away with it for work. I reckon so.
can I ask some opinions or advice. I've barely done any exercise in this first trimester as so scared of causing somthing to go wrong. Tomorrow I'm taking class out bowling and know I will be asked to join in but don't really fancy all the bending and lifting heavy balls. I've not done it in ages. Am I being a complete wimp do you think?

Thanks Madrigals, that makes a lot of sense!! Apologies for not thinking before questioning such things Blush. Can I use pregnancy brain & jet lag as an excuse?

ViviPru · 22/06/2014 13:07

That's interesting about the asthma risk, Mad, thanks. I'll have a bit of a further read into that....

mummyk8 · 22/06/2014 14:01

Also find the Asthma risk interesting my son has chronic Asthma and I was taking folic acid the whole 9 months.

Saraswati · 22/06/2014 14:31

Thanks for the info on asthma risk mad very interesting. I'm still taking the pregnacare conception vits (got a 3 for 2 offer then got pregnant straight away! Typical) mw said it was ok to keep taking until they run out. My brother has chronic asthma and I have eczema and DH has psoriasis so the baby has good chance of inheriting something, I think I'll swap to a pregnancy vitamin without folic acid when I reach 14 weeks.

Interestingly my eczema has gone crazy since I got pregnant, it's been very mild since I was a teenager and now is as bad as when I was a child, I'm so itchy!! Except for my face which is a grease fest, I can't win. Anyone else found this?

rumisyum · 22/06/2014 15:30

Saras I don't have ezcema, but I do have sensitive skin prone to lots of rashes & it's gone mental since I got pregnant. Super sensitive, rashes that appear to be a allergic reaction to the sun/heat, dry and itchy, all sorts. Mental.

That stuff about asthma risk with folic acid past the 1st trimester is interesting, mad. Thanks for that. I've just been taking Boots folic acid + vit D (cause Pregnacare turns my wee a scary neon yellow colour that I could never get past), and I guess I'll stop when my 3 months' worth runs out. And hope for the best with healthy eating, though I am a bit concerned about getting enough calcium.

Dec what a pain! I hope your dream home doesn't escape you guys because your buyer's been an idiot.

Star I think there's nothing wimpy about bowing out of anything you don't feel entirely comfortable doing! I'd just make my excuses if I didn't feel up to something.

mummyk8 every time I sneeze (often due to hayfever) I get brief sharp pulling pains in my lower pelvis! I don't know if it's muscles or ligaments, but the little one seemed to be pretty happy yesterday regardless.

mightyquin there must be loads of 9 and even 8 weekers about. Maybe people are lurking or in that very tired/nauseated phase so not posting as much? I have been thinking there must be loads of people a week or so behind me as my EDD is mid-January, but I guess the later Jan crew haven't been as chatty? Everyone should join in - there's so much to obsess about at this stage. Wink

RPopz · 22/06/2014 15:35

My eczema hasn't flared up yet Saras but I have often been told that pregnancy either makes it a lot better or a lot worse! My skin has been very itchy though since being pg... but with no apparent cause.

Starbright24 · 22/06/2014 15:40

I didn't realise that we could / should stop taking folic acid at 12 weeks. Wish I hadn't bought 3 packs yesterday. (They were on offer) Doh!

Minibagel · 22/06/2014 15:45

I get those sharp ligament pains mummyk8 when I move suddenly as well, its nothing to worry about, just our bodies stretching and loosening for growing babies and giving birth. I think I'll stay away from exercise other than walking until 12w as I wasnt ever big on exercise before. If you were sporty before I have heard that you dont need to change anything.

So sorry to have missed the ladies coming on here to share bad news. How are we on page 4 of a new thread already, I last checked in early yesterday morning!!

I am still feeling pretty bad, just very tired and nauseous. I contemplated just going to lean over the sink and be sick earlier as I couldn't shake it despite eating. I had second thoughts though as I don't want my body to get into the habit of being sick ifkwim?

Minibagel · 22/06/2014 15:50

I was told to keep taking a pg multivitamin which includes folic acid throughout pg. The pregnacare one is recommended by mw. They also said I should take vit e throughout. The mw said they dont know how much of it actually gets absorbed so its no substitute for eating well but thats easier said than done when your tastes are changing and you feel permanently hungover!

ChineseFireball · 22/06/2014 16:14

I have no idea with vitamins. I've got asda pregnancy ones which were a third of the price of pregnacare and had the same stuff in them. Oh and they were on 3 for 2! TBH I've been a bit lax in taking them. Started in September in preparation for ttc and have continued since, although I don't take them daily because I keep bleddy forgetting! I'm sure some folic acid is better than none though, right?

Have had a housework day today. Done a million loads of washing, cleaned kitchen and bathroom, changed bedlinen, vacuumed and emptied bins. Now my hands stink of bleach and all my nasal hair has gone Grin Sitting on the sofa relaxing but it's a bit tricky as Peppa fucking pig is on repeat and I can't reach the remote.

Wow this thread moves so quickly. Sorry to hear about those who have had bad news :-( hope you get to jump back on a bus soon. Seems like there's lots of scans coming up this week, I felt so relieved when I had mine.

Been seeing family all weekend and my mum has delighted in telling absolutely everyone she meets that's she going to be a granny. I must admit though I don't think I like it when people pat my belly, it's just rather bloated and wobbly at the moment. My Auntie who had a baby last year gave me a bag of maternity clothes which is great as all my clothes are getting rather tight.
