The one from my midwife had a bounty magazine and in it was a form that you fill out and take to boots. You can pick it up anytime during pg.

Starbright24 · 05/07/2014 13:32

I didn't get a towel. The first one I picked up from boots just had loads of johnsons stuff in it. Baby oil and wipes and stuff. I think there was still another pack from emmas diary or something too that I need to pick up.
I just think I am getting better with ms and it kicks in again. Ho hum.
I've been to leeds this morning to watch the cyclists -dp into it a lot - pretty busy but if I'd blinked, I'd have missed them.

I got some dettol wipes in my bounty pack - helped clean the bathroom if nothing else, most of it got chucked!

DH and I have been discussing names - it's so hard! I don't want to dismiss all his ideas but they are so boring!

Girls
Me - Elsie, Annabelle, Daisy, Francesca, Sadie
Him - Ella (ok), faith (!?), Katie (so children of the 80's), Elizabeth

Boys
Me - Archie, Stanley, William, Rory, Thomas, William
Him - Harry, Charlie, (both too popular IMO) Peter, Joshua (ok), Jude (could grow on me)!

Argh!!!! It's going to be a long 5 months, I hope I get my way on this!!!

How is everyone else getting on with names?

Saraswati · 05/07/2014 15:05

Ooo lulu I love Jude for a boy! We decided names years ago but I like playing the game!

Preggo yoga was lovely, some early ladies like me and some near to popping. It was very different to my normal practice, very gentle, lots of bump rubbing to bond with baby. Jesus squirmed a bit so obviously liked it! It's doesn't feel like proper exercise though so I think I'll do another class as well to keep toned, I'm thinking pilates or aquanatal, anyone tried a preggo class that felt like it was proper exercise?

We haven't bought any baby stuff yet but my friend just gave me a moomin mobile they bought for us. So sweet and I absolutely love it! We've decided it'll go over the changing table so she can dream of moomins when she's having her nappy changed! I'm so excited to get more stuff :)

LulusMiniEgg · 05/07/2014 15:46

Ooh pregnancy yoga can't wait to get started on that. The one near me finishes in a few weeks for summer so will probably start in sept. Glad Jesus enjoyed it Sara!

Yeah I quite like Jude. I think it could make the cut plus a couple of mine and make a decision when he or she arrives x

KeepOnPloddingOn · 05/07/2014 16:07

Lulu- good taste. I like Elsie, Annabella and Daisy too. I do like Jude also :)

Sara - glad pregnancy yoga went well. I puah a massive pram and an equally massive one year old around everyday to keep toned haha. You could borrow her if you like ;)

LulusMiniEgg · 05/07/2014 16:39

Elsie is actually my nanny's name, I have always liked it but think it's becoming more fashionable now!

My pregnancy DVD has just arrived and DH has gone to pub, debating whether to do it or just carry on crocheting...

sunshineandbiscuits · 05/07/2014 17:35

Elsie is DW's middle name (named after her great aunt) and she was teased for it at primary school because it was old fashioned in the 1980s. She didn't like it much as a result but but it is very much on trend now and definitely far more fashionable than her first name! I think it's very pretty but then all your names are nice.

Ooh crocheting. Now the second trimester is in sight, I'm definitely starting to feel some baby knitting coming on. Need to paint the landing ceiling first before dinner though, oh joy.

KatnissEvermean · 05/07/2014 19:19

Lovely names Lulu. I think we've decided, Samson for a boy (my pick) and Eve for a girl (DP's choice). They are both family names.

Sara, I might have to look into pregnancy yoga. I used to go kickboxing and was getting so much fitter, will really miss it. Now I am 12 weeks there are some free exercise classes I can go to, don't know what they involve. It's just annoying that the gym they're at is a reeeeally long walk away, I'll be exhausted by the time I get there!

RPopz · 05/07/2014 20:01

You're all so organised! I have plenty of girls names but not many boys. Plus our surname is terrible and ruins most names!! I kind of don't want to name him or her until they're born though.

Feeling sick again today... first day of second trimester Confused Supposed to be finished with this stuff now right?? Sad

MightyQuin1201 · 05/07/2014 20:11

Hey Katniss, Eve is at the top of our girls list Grin. We have a tricky surname, so we love the simplicity. Otto is our boys name choice, a name we've both always loved..

Minibagel · 05/07/2014 20:45

sunshine my friend who is a marketing expert says there are only something like two times in your life when you are likely to change and keep new spending habits. I think the other is when you get married. So pregnancy is a time of life when you might change which tea or wash powder you buy, and obviously baby products for the first time etc. Apparently its so powerful in terms of results thats why all the supermarkets, boots etc try and lure us in. Crrazy. We don't even realise our habits are changing.

We are sorted on names, I think. Neither the boys or girls name is in the top list of most popular names, whilst both being traditional. Not an easy task.

sara I have found pg yoga to basically be a massive relaxation class. Nice but not exercise. I think its because everyone is so scared of getting sued if a woman loses her baby. So classes in general for pg women is toned down. Bloody blame culture. It shouldn't stop you exercising alone though, at the gym or running or home dvds. At least you know your own limits if you exercised regularly before pg.

LulusMiniEgg · 05/07/2014 20:49

Katniss and mighty you're both so lucky to have nanes sorted. Otto and Samson are both really cool!

Rpopz we've said we'll have a few names agreed and then decide when the baby arrives and we see it.

Your poor DW Sunshine, hope my little Elsie (fx!) doesn't have same problem! Although think there will be a lot of Elsa's now due to Frozen so will be quite a common name x

Saraswati · 05/07/2014 21:54

Good point mini it was nice and relaxing but I know I need something more to not turn into a blob. I hate the gym and running but might see if I can find a more dynamic yoga DVD for preggos or just invent my own routine but avoid tummy stuff.

rpopz I feel your pain, just came home after an hour long car journey and vommed. I hadn't been sick since tues, I thought I was getting better :,(

Loving Otto by the way!

HenriettaTurkey · 05/07/2014 22:12

I love granny names! My dgm who died last year was called marguerite. I've suggested marguerite as a Sunday name, nn Maya. It's not going down well with him, though - and I do understand why. We both love Maya but I wouldn't want it as a proper name!

KeepOnPloddingOn · 05/07/2014 22:20

Henrietta - I love your name. Etta for short is so cool. (I love a bit of soul) I love maya too, after the wonderful Maya Angelou.
Otto is uber cool.

I'm dead set on Matilda/ Felicity for a girl. Love both of them.
We like Ollie/ Frankie and Leo (I do) for a boy. Though I don't particularly love any of them. (Well, except Leo but dh says no :( )

RPopz · 05/07/2014 22:32

A lot of the older generation names are coming back aren't they. My bf called her daughter Ada - majority of her family HATED it at the time but it really suits her now!

RPopz · 05/07/2014 22:33

Matilda is cute, Tilly for short?

Saraswati · 05/07/2014 22:39

henrietta my grandma was marguerite too! We are using pearl as the first middle name as my mums name is Marjorie and marguerite and Marjorie both mean pearl. My grandma marguerite was always known as Greta which I think is super cool especially as she had a g surname, sounded like a movie star :)

HenriettaTurkey · 05/07/2014 22:43

How funny, Sara! My gran was known as Peggy Smile we wouldn't use that as it's too much her name - she was an amazing woman and a force of nature. I'd love to honour her in some way...Maya Angelou is also an absolute hero of mine, and died the day we had our bfp, so I just felt if the baby were a girl, she should have the nn Maya.

I love soul names too: Nina is also on my girls name list, and Ella would be but it doesn't go with the surname.

Not sure we could get away with Aretha, though!

HenriettaTurkey · 05/07/2014 22:44

Also Maya Angelou was a Marguerite too!

KeepOnPloddingOn · 06/07/2014 07:02

Henrietta- I didn't know that. Wow I think Maya should def be your name if a girl then, it's fate :) such a lovely name too.

Rpopz- I love Tilda or Tilly for short. It means warrior in battle or something- I like that! I also think of TildaSwinton who is a fav of mine.

Well I have awoken to a stinking cold. Any ideas on what we can and cannot take?

We had friends for a curry last night, they have already had one unsuccessful round of ivf and are going to save to try again. When We were discussing our situation with the them (the possiblility of Downs) it really put things in perspective - we are so blessed just have come this far :)
