That sounds good :-) think I'll take my sis next week she'll be so excited

mumography · 21/06/2014 20:49

Hey all, I'm new here been watching for a week or two but this s my first post. I'm 39 and this baby is a surprise gift me and DH gave up on trying for 5 years ago after 3 rounds of IVF. Any how here I am My EDD is Jan 2ed 2015. Fist scan is Frida! EEEEK!

RE mat clothes I'm a plus size mum to be ( 30 to 32 ) anyone know of anywhere that does plus size mat clothes? Also am I the only plus size mum to be here?

Monstamio · 21/06/2014 21:08

Evening all! Just marking place. Will catch up and post in the morning. Hope you're all having lovely Saturdays x Smile

KeepOnPloddingOn · 21/06/2014 21:17

I'm in maternity gear already- boobs and bump are big already- and the ass and hips will no doubt catch up. I tend to go a size up to what I am in maternity wear as it's nice to have baggies clothing a when pregnant and also gives you plenty of room to grow. Lasts longer :)

Saraswati · 21/06/2014 21:18

Welcome mumography wow you must be over the moon! Congratulations and good luck for your scan. I can't advise on plus size mat clothes I'm afraid but hopefully someone else will!

ikkle I've only bought one maternity thing so far, got some nice black maternity jeggings from asos which I love! They are my normal size but have about 3 inches of elastic at the top so are nice and comfy. I just wear longer tops to hide it. I don't have much of a bump yet but I usually wear skinny jeans/trousers and the tight waist bands were making me feel sick. Have also bought a couple of shift type dresses from primark in my usual size (but I find their sizes big) which are comfortable for work but smartish. They are hiding my lack of waist nicely before I spill the beans at work!

ChineseFireball · 21/06/2014 21:19

Welcome mumography and congratulations Smile

BethsBaba · 21/06/2014 21:23

I'm also new here. 11 + 5 today. Stopped being sick last week and my boos have shrunk and feeling so not pregnant. Scan date is still in the post Sad love seeing all these scan pics and hearing about all these upcoming scans but ask feeling a bit envious Envy

Hi Mumography another plus size mum to be here . I'm finding all my clothes are stretchy enough for me to still feel super comfy. I think SimplyBe does maternity clothes - Evans use to do them years ago but stopped! Good luck.

ViviPru · 21/06/2014 21:37

Yes Madrigals I thought that after I posted and went to have another read.

Welcome Mumography have you had your scan yet??

mummyk8 Best of luck for you, hope sitting tight in the meantime isn't too stressful.

Sara seriously that made me laugh, that's just the kind of absurd situation I would find myself in! Hopefully it was a one off and your sickness will do one before long.

BethsBaba · 21/06/2014 22:22

mummyk8 don't worry about a faint positive this far alone. Around 10 to 12 weeks of pregnancy or 12 weeks after you last period the HCG levels start to drop. Also a faint line can be of the time of day you did the test and just because of the amount of dye used by that brand. How do I know you ask? Ha, well I was playing the pee on the stick game every day for the first 10 weeks to stop me worrying so much. Then one morning its really faint. Panicked so DH did some research and it nothing to worry about. If your going to do that just go for a digital one nothing faint or dark about it to over analyse just a nice bright PREGNANT message. Hope that helps.

Camsie30 · 22/06/2014 05:25

So waking up every 3 hours to pee is practise for a newborn, right?

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

KeepOnPloddingOn · 22/06/2014 07:31

Hehe yep Camsie! Me too.

Dd was up at 445 this sunny Sunday morning too! I just make sure I am asleep between 9-10 to survive ;)

Camsie30 · 22/06/2014 08:19

Glad I had company KeepOn! Was awake at 2, then 5.30, then dozed till 7. Have a huge family celebration today for my Mum's 60th, think I'll have to disappear for a nap later and hope that noone notices!! Good news is I have a great dress with a full skirt from the waist so hopefully noone will see my little belly!

KeepOnPloddingOn · 22/06/2014 08:29

Don't blame you Camsie. Your outfit sounds ideal to hide any bump. I have no hope in that area- I must be really bloated too (plus it's my second so you always show more)
Enjoy your mums 60th! :)

I have a busy day and bingo tonight. I have never been and it's not something I would choose to spend 20 on, especially as it's on until 930pm - I shall be exhausted as I have been in bed for 9 lately ... And asleep by then. Anyway should be a good giggle, and will hopefully pas the time for my scan tomorrow! 130pm - eeeeeeek!

rumisyum · 22/06/2014 08:50

I'm so very sorry to hear about the losses yesterday. Sad

And those feeling anxious about not being pregnant, oh I feel for you! May your next scans bring sweet, happy relief.

I caved & bought a couple things in the Isabella Oliver sale. Blush But my pre-pregnancy bodycon/tailored style means my regular clothes just aren't fitting quite right at the moment. And even with the things that fit, anything that feels tight/constricting just makes me feel so hot & sick & uncomfortable. And I've suddenly become deeply fussy about what fabric my skin (sensitive at the best if times) will tolerate - only cotton/linen/silk seems tolerable in the heat. Gah. I'm like the princess & the pea with clothes at the moment. Hmm I also got a couple loose shift dresses that have been life-savers at work.

Finally slept well last night after days of anxiety. Lots of dreams of wriggly little beans. Smile

rumisyum · 22/06/2014 08:53

Enjoy the party today, Camsie! I'm sure sneaking off for a nap will be acceptable. Blame the heat. Wink

And eeeeeek for your scan tomorrow, Keepon! Smile

Morning all :) well I am very annoyed this morning. We are selling our house, had sold, found somewhere we absolutely love and now our buyer has disappeared off the face of the earth.... Will not answer any calls from anyone. Grrrrrrrr. So back on the market we go. The thought if having to keep tidying to show home standard again just makes me want to cry as I am just to tired at the moment to even think about it :( and we will loose our dream home. So rubbish! I hat house moving.

KeepOnPloddingOn · 22/06/2014 09:01

Sorry dec this is not the stress you need right now. Has the buyer not signed a contract ??

Camsie30 · 22/06/2014 09:28

Madrigals I'm sure everything will be perfect. Are you finding out the gender? How lovely are the staff at FMC?
Thanks for good wishes today, it's going to be fun! Xx

cheshirem2b · 22/06/2014 09:30

dec that's rubbish! How annoying! We moved 12m ago so I remember how stressful it is. Hope you get a new buyer v soon and your dream home stays on the market.Brew needed I think!

ViviPru · 22/06/2014 09:45

Oh no Dec what a pain. Let's hope it shifts soon .

What's everyone doing about folic acid? My pack of pregnacare plus has just run out and advice seems to be there's no proven benefit to taking beyond 12 weeks, but equally no harm in doing so... I think the omega 3 with it was doing me good and I'd got into a good routine of taking it (which I've never managed before with supplements) so I can't decide whether to buy more of the same and continue or swap to a different combo of supplements just for general wellbeing...

What are you all doing about this??

ilovelamp78 · 22/06/2014 09:48

Oh dec that is mega poo. I hope you still get your perfect house.

My clothes are getting tight around the waist but I'm trying to hold off a few more weeks before buying anything and just going with what I can still comfortably wear. Had to squeeze into my skinny jeans for a party last night urghh, not fun. Bras are the worst. DH thinks my boobies are amazing and I'm thinking they were big enough to start with but this is getting ridiculous! I'm going to need to buy new bras really soon :-(

cheshirem2b · 22/06/2014 10:01

vivi I'm thinking of sticking with pregnacare as I've not had any side effects from them - any pregnancy vitamins would be gone though I'd think. I'm on high dose folic acid for another two weeks as well but then can stop taking that increased dose at 14weeks.

ilovelamp I'd get your bras sorted if you need it. I went and got refitted 2weeks ago at bravissimo. Picked a couple of great fitting under wired (I'm a BIG boobed lady) - recommend coming in at 36weeks for nursing bra/refit.
The only maternity clothes I've got are jeans/cropped jeans because my normal ones were hurting smudgy. Tops are just a size bigger and picking longer tops to hide my fat/bloat until proper bump is there.

HenriettaTurkey · 22/06/2014 10:28

Oh the dreaded clothes debate! I'll be back at work for about a week before my scan & have resolved not to buy new clothes until after then. It just feels like tempting fate as I've had no scans yet.

My teaching is tricky with a skirt on (very manual, physical plus teenagers who may lift it up etc) so have to stick with trousers I think.

And none of them fit. At least they're ok in the morning but I seem to swell about 2 inches over the course of the day! And sitting down (especially on the floor) isn't great either. May have to dig out old maternity trousers - but sadly I went with the rookie error last time of buying super cheap and the fabric ain't great. It won't be a pleasure to wear black polyester in this weather.

If only I could wear dresses all the time: hating waistbands right now!

MightyQuin1201 · 22/06/2014 10:30

I've been lurking fearfully for a while. So upsetting to hear people's sad news over these last few days Sad.

Wonderful to hear about the positives too- part of me is secretly longing for twins as I'll be 40 by my edd of 24/01/15.
I'm in New York for work- arrived late last night and only managed about 4 hours sleep and now I've just been feeling anxious for ages. New anxiety is if jet lag will harm the baby...
