I think I'm sold on the Ergobaby, especially since they've introduced the 360 version (where you can have the baby facing outwards too). They seem to do 'infant inserts' so that they can be used even with tiny tots (haha, autocorrect changed that to "tiny tits" Shock Grin). The might get a bit hot in the summer, but some lovely people on the tinterweb seem to say that mucking out will be no problem (Woop Woop) so that's good for me! And tbh, I'd imagine anything will be hot when you've got a LO strapped so close to your body...

(Getting a bit carried away here since I'm only 6+3 lol. You can't be too prepared though, right?!)

tootles off to google 'sling library'

Oh, a 360 version? Off to google it and ready to write eBay ad for current one Wink

Spotti · 29/06/2014 11:58

Yeah, it looks much the same as the 'original' ones but there must be something different which means that LO will be safe to sit facing outwards and looking out at the world. No idea what they've changed but I think I like that one better...might never have LitteSpotti face-out, but it's nice to have the option!

I'm off to this stupid baby shower this afternoon. Probably should be feeling more enthusiastic than I am but I can barely bring myself round to the idea of going. Urgh and there will be quite a few people there that I haven't told about being pg. Why me? Sad

This is when I'd normally have a glass of wine to get me in the mood! Bah humbug!

fancyacupoftea · 29/06/2014 12:11

What present did you get in the end Poly?

Zermatt · 29/06/2014 12:16

Can you say your DS is a bit poorly and nick off early Poly ? Hope it ends up being better than expected.

It's the steelcraft striders that are all the rage here fancy but I haven't been and tried any in the shops yet. They're stupidly expensive though so I don't think we'll be getting one.

PolytheneGirl · 29/06/2014 12:38

It's my SIL's shower so I can't really get out of it. I just got a nice hooded towel and flannel set. I found it really hard to buy anything because they have already bought just about everything plus we don't know the sex. So I just went with something practical but boring to be honest. I'll get something a bit more special when baby arrives.

I hate SIL's friends to be honest. They all think they're better than everyone else and it drives me mad. And SIL, who I love, turns into one of them when she's with them. Glad my Mom is going too, someone to shoot sarcastic looks at when it gets all a bit too pretentious!

MademoiselleG · 29/06/2014 12:47

Oh dear Poly, good luck... You know you CAN have one glass of wine, right?

Can I get a hug or two please? I'm suddenly feeling really scared about tomorrow. As in: until we know for sure, I am just pregnant and all could be well...bit tomorrow this might all change. (Sorry for perpetually bringing the mood down Hmm)

fancyacupoftea · 29/06/2014 12:57

You can have as many hugs as you want Mademoiselle and please please don't apologise for talking about it.
I am hoping so much that it was a mistake. You have every reason to be scared.
We'll be there for you tomorrow to help talk things through if you need it.

MademoiselleG · 29/06/2014 13:05

ThanksThanksthank you.
I'm having a glass of wine. End of.

PolytheneGirl · 29/06/2014 13:06

Big hugs Mlle . I'm sure that nothing any of us can say will make this any easier for you but you have done amazingly well so far and you and your little family will get through this, you are all amazing. You were in my prayers at church this morning and will remain there for as long as you need to be. Please don't feel you can't talk to us. We're all here for you Thanks

freneticfox · 29/06/2014 13:10

Agree with fancy, we're all rooting for you and by all means vent away.

Feeling REALLY grateful for you lot today, I recently was forced out of a pregnancy group on FB for defending someone with antenatal depression (people were very derogatory about women who are pregnant and have doubts; apparently we should all be shitting rainbows around the clock).

I love that people here are non-judgemental without being vicious.

MademoiselleG · 29/06/2014 13:56

Bloody hell fox, do these women have kids already? Because sorry for those still hoping for 100% perfection but having a newborn is tough! One should hope that anyone having been through it once would understand and therefore be kind, understanding and open-minded about ante- and/or post-natal issues, depression being one of the most common ones! Oh god, I'd have been fuming!!

I too am immensely grateful for you all. I think dh has totally sussed out who I am and where I'm posting but it's the best ever group. No shitting rainbows indeed!

Thank you for your prayers Poly. I was finding it tough this morning. Was in tears for most of it. It's all hitting me in waves now. At least we have a BBQ in the parc planned with friends later, that should cheer me up Grin

bellaboo88 · 29/06/2014 14:05

Big hugs from me too Mlle, you're incredible & either way, you'll do the right thing. I've had the chat with my DP, what we would do in any sort of situation & we are in your corner, I'll be thinking of you xx

Ladies, I've had this link for ages, I'm going to have a go. Our local library is really expensive

Made I'm sending you the biggest/cuddliest/warmest most loving hug you've ever had in your life Smile

MademoiselleG · 29/06/2014 14:27

Aaaw. Smile

I don't know what I think anymore. I just want to know!

Had rare steak for lunch. Oh dear, I'm really tempting fate here now!

fancyacupoftea · 29/06/2014 14:31

Try not to make the decision until you get confirmation and further information. Just try and enjoy your day today with your friends and then face everything tomorrow.

Oi! Mademoiselle's DH! Look after her!

fancyacupoftea · 29/06/2014 14:54

Going for a carvery. Put my don't-really-need-to-wear-yet maternity jeans on in anticipation of All The Roast Potatoes.

lindamagoo · 29/06/2014 15:08

Oh the joys! OH has took the week off of work so we can do stuff with the kids now that Jayden's better and Jackson is showing no signs of getting the chickenpox YES, only for the poor bugger to end up in bed ill himself, he's been really sick and in quite a bit of pain all day. I'm dreading it incase he's still ill by Thursday cause I'll have to go to the scan myself again Sad

lindamagoo · 29/06/2014 15:08

YES = YET

MademoiselleG · 29/06/2014 16:03

Oh no Linda, that's rubbish!! I hope he gets better very quickly and that you most definitely don't have to go by yourself!!

Off to eat all the sausages and all the burgers I go!

Treaclepie19 · 29/06/2014 17:17

Big hugs mademoiselle, i so hope tomorrow goes better than expected for you.

freneticfox · 29/06/2014 17:54

I've discovered ginger ale today. Ginger biscuits (which I usually love) are starting to turn my stomach. Fizzy drinks are definitely my saving grace at the moment. I look six months gone with the bloat.

MmeG Will be thinking of you tomorrow, I really hope things are good news.

Linda, hope OH is on the mend soon, keep him on bed rest!

lindamagoo · 29/06/2014 17:59

Aw girls OH has been throwing up for 8 hours straight now, think/hope it's maybe food poisoning, if it's a bug then surely we will all get it? I can't miss my scan, I just can't Sad

fancyacupoftea · 29/06/2014 18:51

Oh your poor OH Linda! Really got my fingers crossed that it's not a bug.

WE JUST BOUGHT A PRAM ON EBAY. Problem is, I'm not entirely sure it's The One and there's another ending in an hour that I like. Wondering whether to just stick with this one or buy a couple, make a decision then sell the rest on!

I'm now ashamed at how soon we've done this.
