Glad your announcement went well Fox Grin

Hanflan DH thought it was too subtle too, that's why we went with the more obvious one.

MademoiselleG · 27/06/2014 16:31

Poly I'm sorry - my lack of British roots probably shows here but I don't get it...could you shed some light, please?

Spotti · 27/06/2014 17:26

(I'm British born and raised but I don't get it either!)

spotti that's a lovely idea, I'd get it!
poly - I love it.

Love your stories! I'm going to see my parents tomorrow and will be telling them, but probably just in a boring way. Feeling a bit nervous about it for some reason.

MademoiselleG · 27/06/2014 17:43

Phew, thanks Spotti Wink

Just rang Fetal Medicine Unit and they will see us this Monday again rather than on the 7th! We probably won't get all the answers but at least we will probably know whether or not there's any point in still having hope...

Meanwhile, eating seems to be the way forward here too! Spent the morning with a friend who is a few days overdue and devoured a massive steak-frites. Got home and topped it off with Ben&Jerry's ice cream. Now I've just demolished a bowl of cherries. Crap, I'm going to be so fat on the beach in 3 weeks!

MademoiselleG · 27/06/2014 17:43

Threnody, be nice and explain, would you?Wink

lindamagoo · 27/06/2014 18:06

I don't get it either!!!

Ordered an Indian for tonight's dinner, can't wait for it to get here Smile

PolytheneGirl · 27/06/2014 18:10

Sorry Mlle I'm back now. The novel 1984 by George Orwell is where we get Big Brother from. So it's a bit of a coded message for anyone who knows the book. It is a bit cryptic Confused

PolytheneGirl · 27/06/2014 18:13

Also Mlle I'll be praying for you for either a really positive outcome on Monday or like you say for the decision to be taken out of your hands. We're all here for you no matter what. I think you're being amazing and brave too!

MademoiselleG · 27/06/2014 18:18

Aaaw. Thanks Poly! I don't know about being brave. It is what it is. I don't really know what the alternative to just carrying in would be? I'm just so grateful for how perfect and healthy dd is. I keep staring at her with renewed amazement. She always has been our 'miracle baby' as we didn't plan her, but it's taking in a whole new dimension now!

(gosh. I knew this about Big Brother but didn't make the connection. Love it though!!)

toots123 · 27/06/2014 18:19

Dinner wasnt great. Made our own pizzas in morrisons. I only wanted onion but didn't want the guy thinking I was weird so got a few things. Sat and picked them off then ate two small slices and now im full and way too tired

on a count down to our scan. 6 days haha

PolytheneGirl · 27/06/2014 18:42

You are doing amazingly well, the way you are facing it head on. It's really admirable.

I know how you feel about your DD. When we had DS he was unplanned and I am at increased risk of birth defects. My health was awful but he was perfect and there is something inside me nagging that this time my health is fine (touch wood) so far and therefore baby must be getting the raw end of the deal this time. I just feel like maybe we used up all of our luck with DS. I'm praying everyday that's not the case.

The other thing I find amazing is that I went into hospital on CD27 of 28 day cycle to have a cyst dealt with on my ovary and that is when I got my BFP. If I'd gone in a couple of days earlier he wouldn't have shown up on the test and I would have lost him without even knowing it.

He was definitely just meant to be.

MundayCakes85 · 27/06/2014 19:01

Spotti we did the bun in the oven t-shirt on Facebook. We'd already told family and close friends. Most people got it!

PolytheneGirl · 27/06/2014 20:06

Just realised it's my wedding anniversary tomorrow Shock

I am now officially not talking to my brain anymore..... It's just let me down one too many times

Spotti · 27/06/2014 20:08

Ooooooh, I get it!

Just had lasagne and chips for tea (managed to persuade MrSpotti to go to Tesco with me to buy stuff). Seriously full now. It's a good full though Smile.

Haha poly how many years?
we have our first anniversary in august, after that we will probably forget every year

MademoiselleG · 27/06/2014 20:36

Aaaaaw poly! Bat those negative thoughts away! It's beautiful though, when you just feel that a little miracle happened. Stop. Watch. Be grateful. I'm trying to be, every single day, fir what we do have. And trying to out things into perspective.

(Right. Done with the heavy fuzzy stuff now. Let's talk about dinner!)

Ours solely consisted of cheese!! Hurrah!

PolytheneGirl · 27/06/2014 20:46

Hear hear Mlle I'm thankful every single day!

Mine was mainly cheese and pickled onions!

We've been married for 6 years! Obviously I was a lot younger than I thought when I got married Grin I'm still only 25 now Hmm

fancyacupoftea · 27/06/2014 21:01

Getting obsessed with prams.

Treaclepie19 · 27/06/2014 21:01

mademoiselle, you're doing brilliantly.
Don't tell yourself otherwise.
I know you think you're just coping but that's more than some people manage. More than I managed!

Xxx

PolytheneGirl · 27/06/2014 21:18

I've just polished off the jar of pickles! Where did this craving come from? Why has DH fallen asleep in my hour of need? Damn my lack of driving licence!

bellaboo88 · 27/06/2014 21:27

Fancy, I stopped a woman at work to ask about her bugaboo bee (for a friend!)

Xx

Treaclepie19 · 27/06/2014 21:29

Poly congrats :) Me and DH have been together 8 years in august (since we were 16) and married a year.

MademoiselleG · 27/06/2014 21:30

HA! I read 'I'm getting obsessed with praWNs'. Didn't seem odd to me.

I love prams.

PolytheneGirl · 27/06/2014 21:38

I've spent quite a bit of time looking at double buggies when I'll only need one if I continue to look after my friend's boy. I'm considering getting registered as a childminder and charging her to look after him. I think I'd feel better about it if I was getting something out of it. I just don't want to have to face Ofsted!

Congrats Treacle we've been together for over 12 years Shock I was only just out of nappies when we got together!
