Anyone having any weird cravings? I'm not personally...with dd I loved bowls of baked beans but this time, nothing! Someone asked me today and it got me thinking....

Petal26 · 08/07/2014 20:18

Not much to report here apart from being thumped from inside all day long! Anterior placenta as well so worried that I wasn't going to feel much but today it has been constant!
No specific cravings, just anything and everything Kate :-P

haventgotaclue1 · 08/07/2014 20:31

kate I was craving pork pies and sausage rolls until about week 14-15, then I suddenly got fed up with them. Nothing (yet) has taken their place Smile

kate393 · 08/07/2014 20:44

Havent...that's so funny...I've been in to pork pies too now you mention it! But like you that seems to have gone. Guess that was a craving really, had forgotten...it was a few weeks back.

Vicky5910 · 08/07/2014 20:51

blamber thanks for the good luck, baby was perfect and fluid levels are in normal range :D I can finally relax and buy a few baby bits to celebrate!! Anyone on 2nd or more baby and realising we don't really need much?! I'm stocking up on newborn cloth nappies and a nice new sling perhaps, but stuff everything else lol ;)

Strawberryfield12 · 08/07/2014 20:54

On DVD you can choose full workout or some pieces from it, the full workout is about 1hour, 15 mins. I've had it for about 2 months now, always doing full workout as I don't do it very regularly. Have been thinking to get another DVD to alternate a bit.

Elliekins · 08/07/2014 22:00

Just wanted to share my happy news with you ladies, my DP has finally proposed, after nearly 6 years!!!
I thought it would never ever happen!

Funnily, I wasn't that bothered before I was pregnant (the wedding will still be literally YEARS and years off) but now I'm so pleased that we'll all have the same surname (with no disagreements!), that was something that really bothered me when we've been talking about names. Smile
I'm very happy!

Alita7 · 08/07/2014 22:05

Congrats Vicky and Ellie that's awesome news :D

Congratulations Elliekins!

PopcornFrenzy · 08/07/2014 22:10

Congrats Ellie, I'm finally dragging going to walking down the aisle with DP after 7 years together, well we had a break of around 18 months.

I hate having a different surname to DS and am very glad we'll be settled in Army quarters well before the baby arrives.

We need a pic of the ring Grin

kate393 · 08/07/2014 22:21

Congratulations Ellie! Ring pic please!
Vicky...know what you mean...think second time round it's more just a clothes thing? Just as well really, it all cost enough first time round Wink

weeonion · 08/07/2014 22:43

evening folks - another week down and one closer to 3rd trimester! it is starting to fly by........

who's up for scans this week??

ellie - congrats!

Vicky - glad it all went well.

Folks talking about exercise - i am struggling! down to swimming twice a week - pre pg and i early days it was about 4 / 5 times. trying to keep up walking but pace is sooooo slow - my walk to work used to be 45 mins but finding it is about 60 now. i was so active last pg which i think helped with labour .... so do not want to give up and end up "taking it easy". i walked about 5 miles on my first day of labour - pausing between contractions. cant see it happening this time!

DD is away to ireland for her hols. gotta love my folks - we would be knackered without their support to cover school hols! Our annual leave doesnt really cover all school hols so we appreciate it so much. It was easier when she was at nursery where there was 52 weeks a year cover. she does have a fab time when she is there but jeez i miss her bubbly wee cheeky face and chatterboxing... i am such a sop at the minute that i am swallowing a huge lump in my throat every time i speak with her and hear her chirpy wee voice....

Been checking out nursery in same building as my office. happy enough with it but 45 a day for 3 days a week = around 550 a month. Back to that pain again but it is only for 3 years Wink so just have to grin and get on with it i guess!

amylou85 · 08/07/2014 22:48

Aw Congratulations Ellie!

It is finally my turn for my scan tomorrow! Uber excited and not tired AT ALL! Gunna be the longest night of my life, can't wait to find out what it is. Baby is busy kicking away too so it must sense my excitement.

My DP's mum was fab over the weekend, she helped me look at pushchairs, said she loved silvercross ones and offered to get us one! So i'm starting to get very excited now! She bought a few bits as well like clothes and a baby book (which i started crying at when she got, far too over emotional). Such exciting times!

utopian99 · 08/07/2014 22:56

Congratulations ellie! Ditto others' requests for ring photos...

popcorn if you think they're massive now, wait till your milk comes in. Three days after ds was born I woke up and looked exactly like a page 3 escapee. Ludicrous. Dh didn't know whether to laugh or pass out with joy!

We're on number 2 vicky, and have bought nowt. I feela bit ssorry for the new small but there's genuinely nothing we need. I can't even justify more slings. Blush

twiglet and others, I am exactly the same about shape/size. It's one of the worst bits of pregnancy and I know it all disappeared in a month or so last time but that doesn't mean I can't still hate it for the 6 months or so when you just look huge. And no matter what I seem to still develop a bit of extra on non-bump areas. Hateful. Last time I was doing non impact stuff in the gym till 38 weeks, then swimming till 42 weeks, this time ds rather scuppers that but we do lots of walking and also have a family fitness aerobic session which is half aerobic, half pilates, which gets me properly out of breath/sweaty so at least that's something... Dh has promised to help look after the new Small once it's born so I can get some exercise afterwards again too - I get quite twitchy otherwise!

utopian99 · 08/07/2014 23:00

weeoinion I know what you mean about dc being away. Ds did his last settling in at the childminder today, 8.30-2.30pm and had a lovely happy time, not even bothered about me leaving, but it really made me feel a bit Sad. I got lots of work done and frankly need to, but I did miss his little shouty face..

PopcornFrenzy · 08/07/2014 23:08

utopian, my boobs were quite big when I breastfed DS but they're twice as big now Shock

They feel full of milk now, they're heavy and quite sore with an added dollop of itchy nips for good measure Grin

bunnykitten · 08/07/2014 23:29

Congratulations Elliekins!

And good luck to those having scans this week!

I agree with the relentless trips to the loo...sometimes I don't get out of the bathroom before needing to go again!

Elliekins · 08/07/2014 23:53

Ah thanks ladies! I don't think I can post a ring picture on the iPhone app?
Very happy but saw photos of myself in a bikini today - jeez, I am completely round!
Have been really really slack on the exercise front and my Tara Lee Yoga DVD is still in it's cellophane!
Going to start actually doing it and also the Lazy Daisy classes when I get home - I am exhausted just climbing a flight of stairs at the moment!

amy83firsttimer · 09/07/2014 08:23

Congratulations elliekins!!!

Strawberryfield12 · 09/07/2014 09:49

It is also my scan day today. Quite nervous on realisation that it will be either amazing day (baby will be fine and might know who it is) or really horrid one (whatever problems they might find).
Probably because I have had symptoms free pregnancy up to now (apart from being complicated with what I wanted to eat in 1T) and sometimes goes through my mind that maybe it is not purely that I have been very lucky feeling good...
Hope afternoon comes soon as I am struggling to concentrate on work (and working from home does not really help either).

Annarose2014 · 09/07/2014 12:34

Congrats Ellie!

Good luck Strawberry, try to keep distracted!

23 weeks and still no movement that I can really identify. Well, some swirling sensations but I don't know whether thats gas or not! Blush

So yet again in this Pregnancy the Doppler is saving my sanity, as I'm getting impatient now, and that always turns to paranoia.

I still haven't cracked the bra thing - I got fitted and bought two but they make my tits look HUGE and am self-conscious in them. So am squeezing myself into a couple of old ones that are a bit stretched out. At least I look like I used to in them, and I just ignore the red marks they leave behind!

My bellybutton is getting shallower by the day - am watching it with total fascination. Not long before its gone, another week or so I'd say. Has anyone lost theirs completely yet?

booksshoescats · 09/07/2014 12:53

Aww, congrats Ellie, how lovely! And congratulations to everyone else on your scans.

Anna - Yup, my bellybutton's pretty much disappeared in the past few days (23+3). I was really hoping to develop an outie this time to freak DH out as he thinks they are weird, but nope, it's gone all flat, same as last time!

Could someone add me to the googledoc, please? My laptop keeps rejecting it. DC 2, EDD 02/11/14, girl.

Good luck Strawberry - will check back later.

weeonion · 09/07/2014 13:17

hi strawberry - hoping you have a good scan!

blamber · 09/07/2014 14:15

Vicky I'm glad your scan was fine. I also waited with shopping until after and have just bought a few clothes online. I can't wait to get them!

My belly button is more shallow too. It's weird to see the creases flatten. I'm hoping it won't pop though, like your dh, books, outies creep me out.

Congrats Ellie! I know what you mean about the last name thing. That and the legal benefits (eg inheritance) are why I want to get married! Don't want to make a big deal out if it. My boyfriend isn't that bothered though. I'm sure I shouldn't be expecting a surprise proposal any time.

BabyButton1 · 09/07/2014 17:26

Hi All - just marking my place again.

Ellie - huge congratulations. How exciting :-)

Congratulations to all those scans that I've missed. I think my scan seems to be the last of us all. I don't have mine until next week at 21 weeks.

My belly button has got much shallower too and even more hairy...nice!

I started back at work this week. It's been just over 3 months so it was very weird going back. I was so happy to see my class although I'm not allowed to teach them until i write all their reports. I'm only working mornings at the moment and I feel so sick by the time i get home i end up hanging over the toilet for half an hour and then sleep until about now. Hoping to go back full time next week so hope I manage. Everyone at work has commented on how small my bump is. It has grown lots but still so tiny.

Not sure i need to buy any clothes at this rate as the children at school keep bringing me in their old baby outfits squished up in their reading bags. Very funny!

I had a big fall at school on Monday. I had to go to labour ward and be monitored for the evening. Luckily I just had to have an injection and sent home that evening. Was a nice eye opener being on labour ward this time. I said to the midwife 'It's not like one born every minute here with all the screaming'...i took that back within 10 minutes!! The midwife was poking my belly and showing me how to feel the baby wriggling. Baby is still very lazy but I've had a few strong kicks since.

Lovely to hear everyone is blossoming well!!
