Elle I'm so jealous! Enjoy your holiday!

Alita, dreams can get so weird can't they? I used to dream loads anyway, lucid dreams too. But now I've lost the lucid part and am just having nightmares. Every night I dream I'm being chased, tortured and killed by a serial killer. As if sleep wasn't hard enough to get already! Sad

Ordered the first baby clothes this weekend! Made use of the mothercare sale and their £10 off if you order via their app. Can't wait for them to arrive. I ordered very neutral stuff, a lot of the clothes annoy me. Especially when they have stupid text on them like 'mummy's little treasure' or something. Yuck!

PosyFossilsShoes · 07/07/2014 12:54

Does anybody else think this is weird? A comment on one of the MN blogs (this one) reads

When I was preg I told everyone "her colours will be pale pink and pale green"

Really? Is this a baby she was having or an extra from Game of Thrones? Are we meant to be planning what our baby's colours will be and if so are they the ones that look best when artfully decorated with sick or are we meant to fly a sigil outside the house?

Confused
moggle · 07/07/2014 13:02

That is a bit weird although I can see the attraction when expecting DC1 of planning a lovely colour coordinated nursery... I have found myself daydreaming a bit about this but then i just think how many things they will have by 6 months that will be bright coloured plastic and so there's really no point in even bothering! going so far as to tell people what colours to use is definitely weird and a bit ungrateful IMHO.
My cousin's wife bought everything in grey and yellow when they were expecting. Not my cup of tea but I have to admit the photos of the nursery are lovely. However fast forward a year and I will be interested to see how it's held up!

Alita7 · 07/07/2014 13:02

Elle I think the problem was the emotions I felt when I woke up :p I've felt moody all day!

Posy that is weird! I'm keeping the baby blue to a minimum but other than that I don't care!

Sounds very precious! We're getting what we're given as we're the skint ones out of both our respective families and also both youngest of 3 so we don't even have to make choices on prams or anything. I think it's great cos I can just fixate on buying gender neutral cool clothes. My mum did look in baby's wardrobe the other day and pretty much said it'd better be a boy as it'll he rather a tomboy if it's a girl. I loved dungarees as a little girl though so it doesn't matter. Comfort's more important than anything when you're a baby surely?!

amy83firsttimer · 07/07/2014 13:15

Ooh. Woke up this morning feeling a bit ropy so texted my boss to tell him and he's on a day off (one of us must be in or the bank won't open) so I had to drag myself in and wait 2 hours for another manager to come. Ggggrr. On sofa now in pj's - don't actually even feel that ill now -typical!!!
Feel a little hot and like I've got a slightly dicky tummy but just didn't want to take any health risks if that makes sense.

ToniWol · 07/07/2014 13:51

I feel for you Amy. Feeling terrible myself but not bad enough to swallow the loss of pay.

On Nursery's - ours is mint green (walls) and rose (carpet). Mainly because that's the general colour scheme in there already and it's easier to just repaint in the same colour and steam the carpet.

Blueberry's movements are a lot more definite now. Keep feeling as though my internal organs are footballs...

amy83firsttimer · 07/07/2014 13:57

With me it's still having to sort logistics that's a pain rather than loss of pay (don't lose it anyway). Starting to think that the nausea is being caused by wriggliness of bean!

WheresMrMonkey · 07/07/2014 16:24

Thank you MissKate! Diddnt find out the sex so still set for a surprise here

Kantha · 07/07/2014 20:05

Just added myself to the google doc, having finally made it onto the PC.

Mostly lurking on the thread ATM, but all well here.

Just updated google doc....finally got the laptop out! Been lurking also but nothing to report and all good here. Scan still seems ages ago, think I must be one of the last?!

MrsDowneyJunior · 08/07/2014 01:36

Ugh it's 1.30am and I have a big, important, early day tomorrow and I can't sleep! This monkey has had me in cramps all night, I don't know what she's doing in there but whatever it is I wish she'd stop it! She's been hammering me all night and I feel really sick with it. Child! This is your mother speaking! Pack it in & go to sleep!!

PopcornFrenzy · 08/07/2014 01:52

My girl has decided that my bladder is obviously a set of bongos to be played at 0130 in the bloody morning. I have been for 5 wees in the last 20 sodding minutes already.

Now she's doing the washing machine thing and doing roly polys Grin

Mumonabroom · 08/07/2014 03:04

Hi all,

Been to Ireland for the weekend with my toddlers (23 months and 3.5), so only just catching up. I too suddenly developed a need to go to the loo every 5 minutes this weekend.

Had scan and found out that after 2 boys, this one is a girl! No one was more surprised although MIL text to say we are "so clever" to have a girl Grin I'm sure she's bought an army of pink stuff, as she had 3 DSs. Haha.

Could someone pls add me to doc?

Mumonabroom dc3, due Nov10th, girl!

Many thanks

Oklahoma · 08/07/2014 09:16

And me please!

Hello all! I've just caught up with everyone, glad there's lots of good things to report! Still in Lanzarote but flying home tomorrow, it's been such a lovely break. I have missed my pony though!

baby, still no movement here either. DP pressed down late last week and we definitely felt a flutter then but still nothing apart from that, though my belly changes shape where Bean is obviously repositioning every once in a while. I'm sure it'll happen eventually, particularly once the baby moved a bit higher up than the placenta!

I've been surprised by how much I'm struggling with my body image. Some days I look at my little bump and love it but most days I just feel fat and horrible when I catch myself in the mirror. Am hoping this will go away when the bump gets more defined, but am a bit scared of it getting bigger at the same time, which I know is stupid. Argh!

Will add myself to the doc once home tomorrow. Can I ask how everyone is getting on with exercise? I've walked a lot this holiday (and ridden a camel!) and am planning on still riding when I get back, though I will be taking it a bit more carefully now. I was surprised his much walking in the heat here took out of me though - I don't want to have to slow down just yet!

Strawberryfield12 · 08/07/2014 14:33

I am doing pregnancy yoga at home with Tara Lee DVD, trying to do it twice a week, but not less then once. On weekends usually do a bit of walking and working in the garden, cooking and whatever i feel like around the home.
Also bit worried to slow down to the usual rythm and to end up a lazy cow :)

Alita7 · 08/07/2014 16:09

I think I'm going to have to get the a pregnancy yoga Dvd I found out today that since I last weighed myself 5-7 weeks ago I've gained 10 kilos!

Congrats on your girl Mum!

I had another bad dream last night, this time I had given birth and someone had taken him down to the nursery which I'd never let them do, and then I could find the ward anywhere :(

Strawberryfield12 · 08/07/2014 17:33

Alita I do like that DVD quite a lot, she also tells about certain positions, which can be helpful for certain preg symptoms and also later during labour.
Lets hope it doesnt go out of the window as soon as I go in labour though :)

blamber · 08/07/2014 17:33

Weird how both mrsd's and popcorn's babies kept them up! Hope you both were able to catch some sleep.

The movements I feel are regular kicks and sometimes swirling really low down. This makes sense with my placenta being at the front but not too low. I'm so happy to feel him kicking but I would love to feel more.

Twiglet, don't feel bad about your shape. I like my bump but it feels massive already. Can't imagine not being able to see me feet sometime.

Alita, my dreams are now about my boyfriend and I breaking up. I hate it when you wake up in the middle of the night and you feel like crying.

PopcornFrenzy · 08/07/2014 18:12

I just got in from being out and about and first thing I have to do is remove bra, I caught sight of my norks in the mirror and they are absolutely HUGE.

I'm taking porn star huge, at least DP will be happy Grin

Polkadotscarf · 08/07/2014 18:41

Does the Tara Lee DVD have a variety of sessions or do you do the same every day? I am keeping up with the swimming but feeling I need to do a little more exercise that will help with the birth! :-)

haventgotaclue1 · 08/07/2014 19:35

Popcorn that has really made me laugh out loud! Grin - know exactly how you feel though - I can't believe the size of mine either....when will they ever stop growing???!!! I've already had to have 2 fittings and have gone up 2 cup sizes and 4 inches - it's costing me a fortune!

Did my first bit of baby buying today - got a bargain in Mothercare - 50% off an Avent package that included 6 bottles, steriliser, manual breast pump, and a couple of dummies (I think). Also bought a BabyBjorn Miracle carrier - £30 off normal price in John Lewis (they were doing a price match thing). I was recommended this one rather than the cheaper version as it has a better back support (apparently) and as I already have a dodgy back, it seemed to make sense. Am trying not to get too carried away, but buy things in stages and spread the cost but it's very hard not to buy all the very cute outfits!

Hope bean starts moving around again soon. Have an anterior placenta so not expecting to feel masses, although the sonographer did say it is nice and comfy, resting its head on my bladder...don't I know it!

Lula2515 · 08/07/2014 19:51

Ooo forgot to keep up to date on here, could someone possibly add me?? Dc1, 5th November-boy.
Popcorn, I know how you feel but sadly I am not blessed with lovely porn star bazzookas, my prognosis is that soon they will be emerging from the bottom of my nightie when I am bra-less!
