Hope that works?!

In France they do tests for toxoplasmosis in pg women. One of my French friends here was horrified that they didn't test for it in the Netherlands. Glad to hear good scan news bedside . I'm only a few hours from Brussels - MN meet up of the future?! Grin There is a Benelux MN group ut since I'm a teacher at an international school I don't want to be outed to any potential parents so haven't joined. The only time I've met a MNer irl was when we were on holiday in NZ.

I have felt so lazy all day, but at least I have some nice clothes to wear tomorrow to work that actually fit me. Don't want my students to know yet!

ilovelamp78 · 26/05/2014 17:21

Just marking my place in the new thread and having a bit of a chuckle over this poo g massage and all the talk of muff waxing!

7+5 still no vomming, just the occasional spell of nausea and still needing a lot of sleep ( probably all the caffeine I've had to give up) not sure if I'm lucky or should be worried? Booking in appt is a week away and seems like ages to wait until scan.....

Sonics · 26/05/2014 17:41

Marking my place in the new thread and checking in.

We've also been away for a few days and enjoying catching up in the car while DH drives us home. I'm 5+4 now so feeling a little behind compared to most of you ladies. My EDD is 22nd June.

We spent the day in London yesterday with my friend and her DH so they could run the Bupa 10k. It was a great day out but I was so hungry by the time we sat down for lunch I was shaking and almost started crying when we had to wait ages for emergency bread and olives. Thought I was going to pass out in Prezzo!

Feeling for all you ladies really suffering with MS. In my last pg I was sick pretty much every day for 6 weeks but when I got to 12 week scan I had an mmc at 6 weeks. So I'm hoping extreme sickness was linked to the fact that something was wrong rather than that being normal for me. Time will tell! We have booked a private scan for 14th June to put our minds at rest this time though. 2.5 weeks to go for that!

Sorry for mammoth post!! Smile

Minibagel · 26/05/2014 18:12

Haha hunger has also kicked in for me sonics I had to eat an emergency banana as I walkes back from the shops with our lunch today. I was shaking and thought I'd fall over!

Its so hard not to worry once you've had a mc/mmc isn't it? I am still on knicker watch at almost 7 weeks as it was around this time that I started bleeding. If my mw doesnt offer me an early dating scan at my booking in (see above) I'm going to book a private one, for peace of mind. I know you can't stop what is inevitable but another 5 weeks seems an age!

Loobyloo893 · 26/05/2014 18:41

Sonics my EDDis 22nd aswell.

Mini, I'm still on knicker watch. With DS I don't think it eased off until he was born. Hoping I can relax a bit more this time but I'm a born worrier so doubt it.

I'm not feeling constant hunger but when hunger hits I need to eat straight away or I feel dizzy and sick.

Sonics · 26/05/2014 18:42

I feel exactly the same mini. I had first mw appointment this week (even though it ended up being for the wrong hospital and I have to start at the beginning with the GP again Confused), I asked her the question and she said no so I just booked a private one. I don't want to go all that time with no idea whether everything is ok or not. I think it'll be money very well spent.

Sonics · 26/05/2014 18:44

And hey there Looby due date buddy Smile

Loobyloo893 · 26/05/2014 18:47

I'd love an early scan. Had a private one with DS at 8 weeks and it was amazing. But DH is away until I'm 10weeks and wouldn't want to go on my own so hardly seems worth it by the time he's back.
I had 5 scans with DS so the prospect of only having 2 this time is a little weird.

Question - is anyone researching into/ thinking about having the Harmony Test? My fertility doctor recommended it, and I guess as I'm 36 I'm at a higher risk of downs syndrome, but its ever so expensive. There are no risks to the baby though as its non invasive. Thoughts? x

Mslad · 26/05/2014 19:17

Hi Ladies, I just wanted to say a belated hello! I took a long break as I was really freaking myself out reading about symptoms I don't have and some sad stories. Ridiculous I know, but I've copped myself on (a bit).....

I've been catching up on the thread and it has been lovely to read your stories and updates. Thanks to everyone who had bad news and it's great to see how the thread has grown.

I had my scan this morning. According to the date of my last period, I was on 9+3, but the scan has pushed me back to 7+4, which is annoying, but it was lovely to see a healthy little heart beat.

sunshineandbiscuits · 26/05/2014 19:42

Hello everyone! Hope those who have a bank holiday today have enjoyed a day off. We went for a walk in the (mostly) sunshine, only got rained on once. It was lovely, but DW had to keep stopping every 5 minutes to let me catch up - I'm usually the one striding out in front! My body is clearly busy doing other things Smile

We have our 7 week scan tomorrow (I'm 7+4 today). Fx for a happy heartbeat. We are going on holiday on Wednesday, so really hoping for some good pre-holiday news.

looby - I'm with you all the way on the sudden and desperate hunger. I was literally lying on the living room floor this morning being fed digestive biscuits before I could get up again. I have no idea how those of you with kids already cope!

camsie - what is the Harmony test? I haven't heard of it yet (sound of me googling in the background)

Loobyloo893 · 26/05/2014 19:50

Haha sunshine, my DS (2yo) is the greediest boy ever so I just constantly steal his snacks lol. I did ask him to go get me a banana today "because mummy is too tired to get up" Grin

I've though about harmony test as had CVS with DS. age shouldn't be an issue for me but as I've been through it before I wouldn't want to do it again (although there's no link between high risk in one preg and the next). I haven't decided yet but def thinking about it.

Loobyloo893 · 26/05/2014 19:51

Good luck for your scan tomorrow too sunshine x

Madrigals, do you know what the difference between the nifty and harmony tests are? Nifty is about £300 and harmony £600 but I can't see what the difference is...

Camsie30 · 26/05/2014 20:17

madrigals I am looking at the same package, going to call them tomorrow to discuss.

Loobyloo I am wondering the same thing, I think that maybe NIFTY is just bloods no scan?? Could be wrong though

Hi all :) oooh new thread! Thanks dec :)

I have been away a day or two and this thread has filled up, we are a real chatty bunch :)

To all ladies worrying about lack of ms, please dont. Its a blessing :) I had none with my dd and she is a big healthy bruiser- and was at birth!

Loobyloo893 · 26/05/2014 20:28

I've looked at nifty in Leeds and they do a scan too. I might give them a ring this week and try and find out what the difference is

ilovelamp78 · 26/05/2014 20:46

Thanks keepon got myself in a bit of a state of panic googling mmc symptoms . Hopefully I've got myself a healthy bruiser too !

RPopz · 26/05/2014 21:29

Just popping in to say hi all! Not managed to keep up with this new fred very well so far! I'm 8 weeks today and we've been round and told all the parents as its bank hol and we've been on visiting duties anyway! Feels a bit real and scary now Grin. Ms has kindly held off most of the weekend but starting to feel a bit vommy again now... Hope everyone's doing well and feeling good xx Thanks

PassTheAnswers · 26/05/2014 21:53

Had spotting this afternoon and evening :( brown but with a pinkish tinge. Had the same with ds and found to have a haematoma next to the sac which eventually disappeared and had no ill effects so crossing fingers it's the same this time but I'm not really feeling it and think it might be over.

Going to give the gp a call first thing tomorrow and see if they can refer me to EPAU for a scan.
