Hope that works?!

Booking in appt today, feeling nervous.
I think it's a it crazy that they spend so long with you when anything could happen.
I'm really struggling to stomach anything made from bread! Really fancied a bacon and egg sandwich the smell of the bacon is minging! Golden nuggets it is!

EnglishGirlsReturned · 07/06/2014 08:04

With 6 pg friends my boys names list is dwindling!! I love Leo - know someone although not close with a little Leo now. Lived Zac - a friend used that in March. Now a work colleague is threatening to use the other name I love - Theo!
Would you use a name a work colleague had used? I'm still tempted!!

I have always loved the name Oliver but I now have a boss called it! :-(

Loobyloo893 · 07/06/2014 08:16

Morning all. Madrigals we'll be finding out gender from nifty test so will know early too. We found out DS was a boy after having cvs so knew with him at 14weeks.
As for names we've had a girls name picked out since I was pg with DS. As for a boys name we couldn't decide in DS name until I was 41weeks (he was 11 days late) so think we'll find it even harder this time. He's Zac and the girls name we have picked out is Chloe.

I wouldn't worry about picking a name someone else is using. A friend I've made since having DS has a Zac that is the same age and they are best of friends now Smile

lindamagoo · 07/06/2014 08:26

I love Chloe but my pal used it Hmm I think we will defo be going with Kayla-Rose for a girl but god knows what for a boy, although our boys (Jayden + Jackson) keep calling the bump Kian so the choice may have been made for us Smile

Saraswati · 07/06/2014 08:41

Ooo name chat love it! We've had our names picked for years and have decided to stick with them. This will totally out me but girls name is India Pearl Elizabeth (we love the country it's our 'special' place, my mums name means pearl and my granny's name was Elizabeth) and boys name is Magnus Rex (maybe with another middle name, I have two middle names and want to carry that on) and we'd call him Gus for short. We just both like those boys names and they are Latin (I'm a roman history specialist). So we have quite unusual tastes!! I don't think we'll have any trouble with people using our names :) Luckily we have quite a neutral surname that goes with most names, we won't be telling anyone our names until it's born as I know we'll get loads of opinions but we love those names and we're sticking to them!!

ChineseFireball · 07/06/2014 08:45

I don't think we are going to find out the sex ahead of Arthur's arrival. I would quite like a girl and I'm worried that if it's a boy and we find out ahead of time I will be disappointed - sounds terrible doesn't it? Sad Finding out at the birth I think will be better for me. I think once the baby arrives I will just be glad that everything is ok (fingers crossed etc).

No idea on names really either as we used up the boys names we liked on DS and I can't think of any girls names that I particularly like at the moment!

11weeks today!

Ooh I love baby name chats... Unfortunately dh does not and keeps saying no to all my choices cz that's his long distant cousins name or some uncle was called that a million years ago! Grr!
I'll be waiting for postie today hoping he has my scan date letter! Just want to see that bean is ok. Not been sick. Nausea hardly there now. Only symptoms are constant weeing! And eating buttery toast! Hoping all is ok.

Dh has 4 siblings who all have 3/4 kids each and each child has 2/3 names that we must not choose! Then there's my nieces and nephews ...
Still... I can happily spend hours exploring name books and websites!!!

LadyNexus · 07/06/2014 09:05

We have an Isabelle, and we've got Sophie and Alexander so far Smile

Slightly off the topic of baby names, woke up and I'm into the grapefruit again. If I eat any more I might turn pink.

Thinking of going and raiding the shop to get more....or sending DH Grin

cheshirem2b · 07/06/2014 09:08

At the moment we have
Eleanor Lydia Hay (nn Ellie)
Thomas Alexander Hay (nn Tom)

When we were ttc dh wanted girl to be called Lydia but now his fave is Eleanor which to be honest... I love both names!
We aren't telling any family our name choices and hoping my bf who is due week before me doesn't steal my names! Might drop hints to her nearer the time!
We aren't gong to find out baby's gender... We're having a surprise.

On a different note. Booking apt bloods... Do you get sent results or mw? Had mine on 19th May and heard nothing?

Saraswati · 07/06/2014 09:21

Having a surprise here too, as we have decided names we wanted to keep the gender a secret. I love the idea of a surprise too (even though I'm sure it's a girl already!) loving everybody's name choices!

cheshire I had my mw appointment on 15th May and haven't heard anything, I was assuming they contact you if there's anything they need to discuss so I'm assuming mine were fine! They also sent my notes off for review by a consultant due to a pre existing condition (which I know won't affect pregnancy but mw didn't have a clue what it is) so I've assumed they've been looked at but I haven't heard anything.

Dec2013mummy · 07/06/2014 09:26

Love all the baby name chat :) we had decided the names be it girl or boy last time (as we had a surprise) Ds arrived and we called him something completely different as the name just suited him! We always seem to have a strong boys list but not girls. As both Dh and I are teachers who have worked in several schools if gets tough as there is always some kind of association.
Just found out that a work colleague had a little girl, she has the same name as another work colleagues little one and they are close friends so I say just go with the name you like. The work colleague may only be a work colleague go a while, your child is your child for life :)

I had my booking in appointment with mw last night- she was at the house for two hours! I'm so worried today though as I feel fairly normal- which was something she said to look out for (eg something being wrong). I'm 7 weeks today & planning on getting an early scan the week after next.

fancyacupoftea · 07/06/2014 09:56

I was contacted the day after my bloods because there was an issue so I'm guessing they do that with all the tests. Other than that, it says results are discussed in the next mw app in my Maternity Notes. So I wouldn't worry if you haven't heard anything!

Thanks for the help Madrigals. I have IBS constipation anyway (my body seems to love being bunged up) so used to it but now it's constant Diet doesn't seem to have any effect!

RPopz · 07/06/2014 10:07

Cheshire - Eleanor and Thomas are my absolute favorite names Grin In fact Thomas is pretty much the only boys name I like!! Confused

DH's best friend just used Thomas though.... Envy

KeepOnPloddingOn · 07/06/2014 10:11

Oooh name fest! Loves it. I love lits of your ideas. Adore theo/ Theodore - but friend has used it :(

I also love Elanor and Leo, dh does not :(
Girls names we love- in this order :
Felicity
Matilda
Theodora (Thea / Dora)
Dolores (me , dh does not)

Boys :
Frankie (sentimental value)

Stumped for boys names to be honest. Reckon I am having a boy this time too! This pregnancy has been so different to my previous one.

KeepOnPloddingOn · 07/06/2014 10:13

dec you know what, you are right! I am putting Theodore on the list

ViviPru · 07/06/2014 10:48

They also sent my notes off for review by a consultant due to a pre existing condition (which I know won't affect pregnancy but mw didn't have a clue what it is) so I've assumed they've been looked at but I haven't heard anything.

Same here, at the moment I'm technically under consultant care (bit of an arse as I'm keen to give birth at a MLU which is not attached to a maternity hospital) so I'm hoping it's just a box-ticking exercise and the fact I've not heard anything means they're not concerned about my condition (resistance to local anaesthetic)

RPopz I felt the same about Thomas too and one of my best friends used it recently as well! I know I still could but it feels like it's theirs now. I have one top secret #1 boys name now that I will quite simply RAGE about if anyone uses it before me now!

On holiday some years back I confessed to DH's BF's DW (tenuous I know) that I only had one girls name I loved, I'd always planned to use it if I had a girl, it was unusual and connected to my family heritage. Guess what she called her DD 2 years later?! I actually cried when I found out.

HenriettaTurkey · 07/06/2014 10:53

Ooh Vivi that's MEAN. That'd really upset me... Angry
