Hi all, would love to join the group. I'm 8+1 with my first. And just like confessions I also just got engaged (probs the same weekend as I got pregnant!). After 7 years (on and off) with a recovering commitment-phobe, it's all happening so fast! Been difficult dodging all the bubbly as everyone wants to celebrate the engagement, and trying on wedding dresses while trying to hide the ms has been a challenge!

OneDayLikeThis2013 · 06/06/2014 13:23

Afternoon all!

MelMc I think we must be due to same time as I'm 8 weeks tomorrow too!

I definitely have a bit of a podge/bump already, just below my belly button. So much so that the only things that fit me right now are leggings and one pair of stretchy jeans.

Feeling really coldy today. Lots of extra saliva and congestion (sorry if TMI) and things just don't taste right - even more so than the last few weeks. I'm really pleased that I made it through the working week feeling so rubbish. TGIF!

Hello everyone - so many posts since I last checked!! My scan date has arrived too - Friday 4th July. This is AGES away!! Still, we are having some friends over for Tour de France on Sunday 6 July so at least it's before then.

Today I am all about marmite on toast (still!) coupled with ribena. It's going very nicely with Roland Garros on TV.

So glad I'm off work at the moment as 3 hr naps seem to be a regular fixture of my life. I expect the cyclizine is adding to it but the fatigue is immense. How are you guys managing to work? Much much respect to you.

ViviPru · 06/06/2014 14:40

Lots of scan dates coming through! This time next week I'll have just returned home from mine... Welcome new people to thread Smile

Loobyloo I'm curious, was there any particular reason why you were keen to book a non-invasive test prior to receiving results from your screening? Just wondering as it was an idea I was toying with, but IIRC I'm a bit older than you and that was what was influencing my thought process.

Don't feel obliged to answer if it's too personal!

RPopz · 06/06/2014 14:41

Thanks Linda - she's not my usual GP. The GP who prescribed me them originally knew we were ttc, talked me through the risks etc, told me to keep taking them when I told her I was pg. This woman really annoyed me because I didn't even ask her about ads or pregnancy!!! Just wanted antibiotics and yet she sat there for ages reading about fluox and risks to newborns... I told her I knew all that prior to taking them and she got all defensive saying "I know; I'm not trying to get you to stop taking them!" Why bloody mention it then!?

Had Nutella on toast when I got home to make up for it Grin

RPopz · 06/06/2014 14:42

Thanks to you too Sloane x

MelMc73 · 06/06/2014 14:42

Welcome misdonsol! Congrats on the engagement - exciting times!

oneday I've been told I'm due on 18th Jan but at my booking appointment yesterday I was told it could be different due to my very irregular cycle! Although I am fairly certain when I conceived as I was using cb digital ovulation kit. When is your scan then? Mine is 14th July - I'll be 13 + 2 - but we are away for 2 weeks holiday prior to that....wish it was earlier!

Henrietta is Andy Murray on yet?!

nips off for another choccy digestive

Hi all, can I join? Grin

Only 7 weeks but have been scanned by the consultant twice already. Turns out I have a bicornulate uterus that's practically in two halves...which explains why I've had 4 miscarriages, though god knows how the surgeon missed it when dd was born via c sec.

They though it was ectopic but baby is safe in my right horn and not attached to septum so consultant said I have as much chance as anyone now Grin

Sorry if tmi but I bled all through every pregnancy and this is the same. So terrifying, especially since I had an mmc too so always fretting about that.

But scan saw heartbeat so fingers crossed!

Loobyloo893 · 06/06/2014 14:53

Vivi I'll be 29 in a couple of weeks so it's not an age thing. We were given a 1 in 5 risk with DS with nhs combined test. We decided to have a cvs to find out for sure and all was clear thankfully. Having the NIPT test will mean we don't need to have an invasive procedure. I know there isn't a link between a high risk in one pregnancy and the next but because of what we went through with DS we want to be sure without having another cvs.
Have just read that back to myself and it sounds really defensive. It's not Smile

HenriettaTurkey · 06/06/2014 15:00

Mel - he's warming up! Djokovic just won in 4. Smile

ViviPru · 06/06/2014 15:14

No it doesn't sound defensive at all Looby, just very sensible. Makes a lot of sense, thanks for sharing!

ViviPru · 06/06/2014 15:16

Gosh LadyNexus that sounds very complicated - glad to hear things are looking positive now though!

OneDayLikeThis2013 · 06/06/2014 15:20

MelMc I too am pretty convinced my due date is correct as like you, I was using the cb digital test. We did have an early scan last weekend (purely because I'm too impatient) and she dated me as 6 days behind which I still am struggling to understand as the last time we dtd that month was the day after I got the smiley face on the cb test? I'm thinking the measurement was out slightly as it was only an external scan and the bean was so so tiny. Will wait and see what the 12 week scan throws up in terms of an EDD. I have my booking in visit with the mw on Sunday so am hoping she will give me a date for my scan then.

Henrietta working is a struggle. A 3 hr nap sounds like heaven right now. The nausea is actually better when I'm at work as I'm too busy to think about it, it's just the exhaustion. I could literally fall asleep at my desk and I'm as good as useless when I get home from work. I can't remember the last time I went in to the kitchen let alone cooked something. Thank goodness it's the weekend - not because I have anything exciting planned, just because it = more sleep!!

LadyNexus · 06/06/2014 15:20

Thanks Smile

cheshirem2b · 06/06/2014 17:13

Welcome new ladies!
My bf had her 12week scan (a week early because she's going away) and her EDD is 23 Dec! Exciting times snd in a few weeks we will all be seeing our little beans! Grin

ilovelamp78 · 06/06/2014 17:19

Hope everyone is having a lovely Friday! Sorry for having a whinge yesterday I think I was just having a wierdo preggo moment !

A bit about me: I'm 35, never really thought about having kids until maybe the last year and figured now is probably as good a time as any! Met my DH in the final year of uni so we have been together 12 years, married for 4. People have just about given up asking when we are going to start a family so I guess they will be pretty surprised when they find out! I'm a Retail Manager and he works in IT ( I don't ask as the answers get all computery ). On my feet a lot at work and definitely been battling the sleepiness for the last couple of weeks. I'm sure some of my staff have suspicions as I used to be a caffeine fiend!

Oh and in case anyone needed a tennis update: Murray lost to Nadal. I'm sorry. Whenever I watch Murray he loses. I'm cursed!

Minibagel · 06/06/2014 18:29

Welcome ladynexus and misdonsal

I can feel my uterus above my pelvic b

Minibagel · 06/06/2014 18:31

Woops posted too soon!

Above my pelvic bone today for the first time, so either I'm growing faster due to already being stretched in my last pg or I'm further along than I thought? I think its not until 10-12 weeks normally, I'm 8+2

ChineseFireball · 06/06/2014 19:03

Hello everyone and welcome to the new ladies! Lovely day today for a change :-)

DS and I went to Primarni today to buy his first Big Boy Pants. He has some with the emergency services on them. Bit snazzy! I don't think he's ready for toilet training yet (and I'm certainly not!) but nursery are "encouraging" me to start with him. Apparently he "will be marked as behind on the physical side at his 2.5 year HV check because he's not toilet trained". OK. . I'm going to teach him Latin to balance things out.

I have a question as well. I've had a headache on and off for the last 3 or so days. Have had a couple of paracetamol which eases it but it keeps coming back. I don't need to worry, do I?

Pizza night tonight. Let's see if I can manage not to be sick 5 minutes before it arrives this week (unlike last week...)

Happy weekend everyone!

10+6

Saraswati · 06/06/2014 19:06

Hi all! Crazy work day today and it's been so hot, is anyone else baking? Been offered a 6 month contract at my job today, ending at the beginning of dec, couldn't be more perfect and I'll get a bonus at the end of the contract just in time for baby!! I'm planning on being a sahm for a bit so this is working out really well, still going to keep quiet about the baby for as long as I can though!!

mad great news on your scan!

livvy I'm 10+3 now and the last week has been the worst. I'm exhausted and I'm being sick about 3/4 times a day despite the meds. I'd say 9/10 weeks must be some kind of massive surge.

Can't post a bump pic as I'm on a train but my uterus has moved up even more can feel about 3/4 inches of it above my pelvic bone and it's shoved a load of bowel I guess up too so I'm so round in my middle now. My lovely 24 inch waist is no more :(

Seeing my mum tonight hope she doesn't notice, only 10 more days until my scan and I can hopefully shout it from the rooftops!!

KeepOnPloddingOn · 06/06/2014 19:06

Hey all. Well I am 10 weeks 1 day and I am deffo showing and deffo feeling bleurgh. Been downing the old Gaviscon. I am deffo gettig this on prescription. :)

Mini- my dd is one so I am deffo like you, in that hoeing early - ish.

Minibagel · 06/06/2014 19:08

Ahh good luck with the potty training. I am dreading that with my ds, but it's a way off for us.

Dont worry about your headaches, they can be caused by hormonal changes. If you wear glasses/lenses it is worth going for a check up if it continues as eyesight can change in pregnancy. I get worrying black flashing patches when i'm pg but the optician assures me it is fine (although not treatable)

KeepOnPloddingOn · 06/06/2014 19:08

Saraswati and Livvy- yeh i deffo agree with the sickness surge at 9/10 weeks. I haven't been vomiting lots but feel sick loads.
