Morning Girls,

Thought I would start a new thread as someone suggested further down the last one.

Come and join.

Debbsy, how are things today ? Hope you are feeling better.
Tummy Button is starting to poke out a bit, sort of half in and half out, looks very odd.
We brought our buggy yesterday - we have gone for this one , being delivered a week Friday. Can't wait to get it home and have a push.

Not even thought about hospital bag yet. When I was pregnant with DD, I'm sure I already had it packed by now. We had one for labour and one for afterwards which worked quite well, think we will do the same this time.
Carseat - I had to stay in after having DD so DH brought the carseat up to the hospital the next day with him. I think we will put it in the car ready this time though as hoping to be in and out in a flash

OP posts:

DebbsyandBibby · 25/09/2006 17:08

oh my god you lot are scaring me havent even thought about my hospital bag lol

LeBe · 25/09/2006 17:11

Debsy - the only reason i did mine so early was because i was born at 32 weeks and mil had her first at 29weeks so they wanted me to be prepared as they werent, plus if i remember you got a couple more weeks than me havent you? Oh and im hoping and praying he will be a couple of weeks early as well (just wishful thinking i think!) x

HopingCat · 25/09/2006 17:13

Not sure how to be polite about this, so TMI warning coming up. Is anyone else getting a lot more discharge than ever before? I know it's meant to increase in pregnancy, and it did earlier on, but I wasn't aware it would suddenly increase again as it has over the last week. If nobody wants to respond to this one I will completely understand!

LeBe · 25/09/2006 17:22

Hopingcat - i know exactly what you mean, (im gonna do tmi now sorry) ive had some throughout but not bad but the last few eeks i feel constantly damp down there iykwim, ive been wearing pantyliners everyday now to be more comfortable but now they are making me sore!

DebbsyandBibby · 25/09/2006 17:23

LeBe · 25/09/2006 17:26

well as for my 'contractions' im sure thats what they are, am phoning midwife tomo morning to see what they say as today (well yesterday officially) was the first time iv got up and about in ages and that brought on some really bad contractions, about 5/6 im 3 hrs, but once id rested they went away again. just really wanna get checked in case anything is starting so they can stop it, hes too little yet!!!

as you can guess i cant sleep (it being after half 3 and all!!!!) it was driving me mad and i just had to get up and do soemthing as i felt like i was going crazy. i also have this aching feeling in my calf muscles as if they havnt been used, rather than overused iykwim. its horrible, but i know iv used my legs today so i cant work out why they still feel like this, it makes getting to sleep really difficult. and as for goin gto the toilet in the night i have now been demoted from being able to produce an eggcup full when im bursting to being able to prduce a thimble, that makes me feel so good in the night when it feels like im bursting!!!

as for discharge mine is really bad and today had a pink tinge, which is another reason for mw visit this week, hopefully its nothing just really want her to check and tell me if he's ready so that i can know! oh ho hum, should really try and go back to sleep. nun night!

DebbsyandBibby · 26/09/2006 07:24

Hi all,
Gosh it has taken me forever to catch up and now I'm not sure I really have!

Congrats to your DP Debz - best of luck for his first day

Saralou - big hugs for you and your DH, what rotten timing

Stacey - let us know how you get on with the mw, fingers crossed all ok

Mygirl - oooh, that's just how the top of my bump feels, like the lo is pushing their bum out & it goes really hard - wonder if that's BH for me too?

Lebe - the office is really dragging me down too. Only 5 weeks to go & thankfully I have the next 4 wednesdays off to break the weeks up.

Scan tomorrow to check how much of me is water and how much is baby - really looking forward to seeing lo again. We have started painting the spare room (not going to call it the baby's room until it's done!) and my mum has bought the cot & is making the curtains - it's all getting very exciting!

Really sorry if I have missed anyone, hope you are all well and not too uncomfortable.

Debz99 · 26/09/2006 08:58

Just got settled at my desk this morning and I had loads of muscle spasms in the left hand side of my back, it took the wind out of me ! Trust this was just a muscle spasm and not some form of BH ! Thanks for the good wishes for my DP I am keeping my fingers crossed for him today too ! Hope he likes it !

MeAndMyBoy · 26/09/2006 09:02

Morning,

I haven't had a chance to catch up properly, but just wanted to say Stacey hope everything gets sorted and explained for you. Fingers crossed and take it easy lady. (nag nag)

Only 5 weeks to go to D day gulp! getting very close very quickly now. My BIL had a laugh when I told him we haven't packed our hospital bag yet, his suggestion was a pack of newborn nappies and a pair of scissors - you can make breast pads and maternity pads DIY style if you get desperate lol.

I took DS to get a present for the baby from him and choose a little rattle with a frog on it, very cute, also saw a couple of newborn bundles of clothes that I am tempted to get as the hospital clothes for LO.

Well have DS at home again today poorly so better go and look after him rather than being on here lol.

Have a good day

H x

Debz99 · 26/09/2006 09:23

Stacey - Sorry how rude of me, hope you feeling better today and finally got off to sleep. I wake up at least 4 - 5 times a night for the loo and am managing to pee a thimble full too, its awful when you feel you are busting and you get to the loo and get that result !

LeBe · 26/09/2006 10:26

Morning all.

Stacy - Good luck with the mw hope they put your mind at rest.

Mygirl - that is exactly what mine feels like too, i think your quite good at explaining.

Podglet - thats what i wanted to do, have weds off but i didnt have any holiday left so i couldnt but i think it will make a big dufference for you (fingers crossed) and im not at all jealous you are seeing lo today , hope it goes well.

Debz - sorry forgot to say good luck to dp and i hope you feel better soon with all these aches

Meandmyboy - that rattle sounds so cute - bless him, i hope he feels better soon.

I am in the same boat as you lot who cant sleep, i feel like a zombie today, and your lucky to get a thimble full, i find it comes on all of a sudden and i think 'oh god im going to wee myself' and then it a dribble!! and ten minutes later im bursting again! Good news is, my bump has really dropped there is now a big gap between my bump and boobs and i feel alot more comfy (most the time) and my mums friend who worked on a maternity ward says you only have about a month after they drop!! not sure how true this is tho?

Anyway got the mw this afternnon, will see then if he has dropped into the pelvis a bit yet or not, have to discuss about the fact i had M.E today but am worried they will offer me a c-section oh well will have to wait and see.

Phew - sorry for long post! xx

HopingCat · 26/09/2006 10:26

I'm getting to the stage where if I don't wake up a few times in the night to go to the loo I wonder what's wrong. I miss uninteruppted sleeping for a few hours at a time.

Stacey, hope you are ok. Let us know what mw says.
I've got mw today as well, and am not looking forward to the violent way they grab bits of my belly to find out LO's position. If it hurts me it surely hurts baby too?

Having read this recent description of BH I am convinced now that this is what I'm getting. It used to feel like a bum sticking out but now it's all across my bump at the top, and no baby can have a bum that big! It's getting more frequent, but is always worse in the evening.

Bethbe · 26/09/2006 10:40

Morning!

Sleep - very little
BH - occassionally
Peeing - teaspoon
Discharge - too much

I agree that the MW can sometimes really hurt when they are poking around!!!

I didn't think I was getting any BH until my mum was with me and explained them and then felt the difference in my tummy when I was having one. Basically, - my tum just goes rock hard sometimes for a few minutes, and then it goes all squishy again. Can't feel a thing except if I'm trying to get out of the car or bend down or something, - then it is almost impossible!

Lebe: Hope it goes well this pm

Debz: Good luck to DP

Stacey: Hope all is well!

Bethbe · 26/09/2006 10:49

A quick question:

Does anyone's heartburn ever lead to them actually being sick?

Debz99 · 26/09/2006 10:58

Bethbe - Thanks and Never been sick perse (SP?) but I do get acid into my throat sorry TMI coming up !! Then I swallow so not pysically sick !

Charleesunnysunsun · 26/09/2006 11:01

Morning

Stacey - I am having the exact same thing! dp gets really worried, i have 'contractions' all day that last about 5 mins each time and do get really painfull i also get the pinkish discharge (which i have had on and offf through the whole thing) and a horrible dull back ache, unfortunatley if i ring the maternity ward they say it's just BH's and oto come in if the pains get closer together and stronger!

I wake up once a night to wee luckily i can manage a fair amount! DP pumps me full of water all day long as it is supposed to help Braxton Hicks and i have a warm bath everynight which helps them sometimes.

But i hope the mw can sort you out, if anything were to happen now they would stop it if they could if they couldn't your baby would have such a good chance babies that are born at as young as 24 weeks (including my dp!) are given a good chance these days and your much more than that, SCBU units are really good and babies are usually completley fine. Let us know what you find out.

I have had savage heartburn that yes has lead to sickness, apparently your not supposed to eat greast or spicey food and avoid food altogether after 7.30pm, i don;t do this so i don;t know if it works! I have got Lemon Gaviscon tablets which taste horrible but do work ocassionally.

LO has taken to laying on a nerve so my entire left side from the belly button down is in agony at night when i move but the pain goes as suddenly as it comes so i have to just wait it out! not plesant.

LeBe · 26/09/2006 11:11

I havent had heartburn as bad as to make me sick but i have had the same as debz were ive been a little bit sick and swallowed it (sorry sounds gross). Ive been getting a real dull ache in my lower back especially at night and have also been getting period type pains especially at night also, we all sound like war victims dont we??

I now feel and look like a wheeble ! I cant bend over, cant get out the bath with so much fuss it's unreal, put on my knickers without sitting down and trousers the same. Even drying myself when I get out the bath or shower is a task trying to reach the bits that are covered by my bump ! I'm fed up with being PG now it's time it was over

LeBe · 26/09/2006 11:32

Ah Debz - everything you have just said is totally true for me too, your are not alone. I refuse to have scales in my house, but went to my mums and thought i would be brave - firstly i got on them and went to look and couldnt see over my bump secondly when i finally managed to manuvure (sp) myself to see ive put on 3stone since ive been pg!!!
