Morning Girls,

Thought I would start a new thread as someone suggested further down the last one.

Come and join.

Debbsy, how are things today ? Hope you are feeling better.
Tummy Button is starting to poke out a bit, sort of half in and half out, looks very odd.
We brought our buggy yesterday - we have gone for this one , being delivered a week Friday. Can't wait to get it home and have a push.

Not even thought about hospital bag yet. When I was pregnant with DD, I'm sure I already had it packed by now. We had one for labour and one for afterwards which worked quite well, think we will do the same this time.
Carseat - I had to stay in after having DD so DH brought the carseat up to the hospital the next day with him. I think we will put it in the car ready this time though as hoping to be in and out in a flash

Good luck to everyone who has midwife today. Stacey I hope you get some reasuring news.
I have just got back from my midwife appointment - are you ready for this - quick recap, last time (4 weeks ago) I was 28 weeks measuring 31 :

I am now 32 weeks measuring 37 - the baby is definitely breach at the minute, head is up by my right ribs. Midwife called hospital and arraged a growth scan for me - booked for 2 weeks today, hopefully baby will have moved position by then.
Midwife did say baby defo felt bigger than 32 weeks but she didn't think it felt like 37 week gestation - she guessed at somewhere in between.
I also have low iron - 10.5 is the minumum it should be and mine is 10.1 so she said I need iron tablets but I need to go and see doctor to get a prescription for that which is just a pain in the arse.

Ho Hum ! So no answers really but at least we have the scan booked now.

fhlh - sorry to hear about your mw appointment not going as well as expected, Lokk on the brightside, atleast you get to see lo in 2 weeks, i know it sounds silly but i really miss seeing mine, i saw him at 6,12 and 20 weeks and now havent seen him for 14weeks .

I hope that lo shifts round and everything is ok and good luck with the docs and prescription, they are nothing but a pain in the arse imho.

LeBe · 26/09/2006 11:41

Can anyone tell i cant be bothered to work today, im practically jumping on everyones posts and answering. Sorry peeps x

Debz99 · 26/09/2006 11:59

Lebe - I have put on a stone and a half midwife said that was good ... not sure myself up to about five and a half months I had only put on 8lbs !

FHLG - Does this mean baby is big or they have got your dates wrong? I have another scan on 10th October for presentation as they can't feel him, hopefully he is head down, think he is cos I get the big kicks up by my ribs and the light feathery tickles down towards my pubic area.

Lebe - thanks - yes that is the upside to it. am very excited about seeing LO again, just hope we don't see anything we shouldn't.
Debz - Likely to mean big baby, she did say dates could be wrong but tbh I just don't buy that. DH&I, midwife, doctor and 2 scans have all come up with exactly the same date, I don't see how all of us would've been wrong.
MGLP - Yes the reason for my tummy measuring so big could be because of the baby being breach, in theory if the baby moves into head down my stomach should only be out by a week or 2 by dates as aposed to the 5 it is now.

So basically if the baby moves into head down before scan all we have to be concerned with is the size of the baby, which I can deal with. If baby doesn't move by scan we then have the size of the baby to contend with plus the position, which i'm not sure I can deal with. Am terrified at the thought of an ECV so that is just not an option but am equally as terrified of a CSection

Just a few questions for you all.

3 weeks ago i was prescribed iron tablets as i was slightly aneamic HB was 10.3 i think.
The thing is my GP only prescribed 28 days worth of tablets so do i need another prescription? as i'm sure with Dd1 i took them untill her birth.

Also i am having an elective C section at 38 weeks(17th November) due to two previous sections with Dd1/2 and i was thinking of taking Arnica before hand to help with recovery as after Dd2 was born i found it took much longer to recover. How soon before hand should i start taking them? and do you think they will help?

NatalieJane · 26/09/2006 12:22

Morning...well in fact afternoon everyone

Took a while to catch up, yesterday it was dead, today you've all run away with yourselves!!

Lebe, I had M.E. whilst growing up, it has never affected either of my pregnancies or the birth/s, why would you need a CS because of it?

Stacey, I do hope everything works out OK

Good luck to everyone who is off to the midwives today

I am glossing the kitchen today, the skirting boards, door frames and the internal kitchen door, I have serious back ache, and I have really badly bruised the side of my knee, but I am determined to get it finished and scrubbed from top to bottom by the end of the week! We are off down south to my mums at the weekend, so it will be nice to come back, finish the hall off and then get the whole house cleaned and put back together properly!

Right had better get back to it, after painting all the walls in there yesterday I went to bed at 8.30 last night and slept till 3.30am when I got up for a wee, but I am now shattered again, if I sit here much longer I will be falling asleep!

HopingCat · 26/09/2006 12:23

Amy - my iron was 10.4 at last appointment and I was prescribed iron tablets, enough for 2 weeks. I will probably just be handed more at my mw appointment this afternoon. I was told that the only reason I would be able to stop taking iron is if I have another blood test and my iron levels are higher. So you probably need to go and get more, or have another blood test to check your levels.

LeBe · 26/09/2006 12:36

NJ - I had it for about 2 yeas really bad up until about 2 years ago when it started getting better and then i returned to work a year and a half later, and although i am generally ok now if i get sick i tend to get it quite bad due to having no immune system and also still get very tired and run down and get aching muscles especially in my arms. Everything i have read about m.e in pg so far has said that it is usually decided for a c-section as most people with M.E get too tired and cant finish iving birth naturally. I think this may only be for people who still really suffer but im worried they will just give me what they consider the 'easy' option. Plus im worried i will get really run down after the birth.

Mygirl - im not too sure either really, i think the reason they say is because it is better to know and get prepared for the cs rather than go into labour and after a few hours being exhausted and having to have an emergency one anyway. I did put a convo on the health thread but only one person replied saying it is possible to give birth naturally. I know what your saying about infection tho i cant be a good thing.

NatalieJane · 26/09/2006 13:23

OIC, so it is more because you have a recent history of it?

Don't worry too much about after the birth, I still get very run down when I am really stressed, and slip back into it all, but somehow even though I was on about 2 hours sleep a night, and no come down time, I got through DS being a newborn! I don't think I even mentioned the M.E. to my midwife with DS, I know I haven't this time! In fact thinking of it that way, I was only over the worst part for about 18 months before I had DS, and I gave birth naturally with no question of a CS, so it can be done!

LeBe · 26/09/2006 13:28

Thanks NJ its good to hear you can cope, its not really worrying me tho just something i thought id better mention to the mw, anyway i might be totally off the mark and she wont say anything about it but i will let you knoww a little later when ive been. x

Just been on the Due in September thread and been reading their birth stories .... I'm a glutten for punishment

Delia · 26/09/2006 14:40

Hi Girls, my you've been chatty today! took me ages to catch up!

Lebe - i'm the same as NJ in some ways. I had CFS which made me give up work for a year 3 years ago but don't have to many problems now. no doctors or anyone has even mentioned it to me so i would say it depends on how bad you were and how often symptoms crop up now.

well i start my parenting class tonight, am looking forward to it as i am hoping it may make me feel a little more clued into things!

Sleep - get up twice minimum, and after the walk down the stairs to the toilet try to hold on and go back to sleep!
Discharge - too much
Peeing - all or nothing!

HopingCat · 26/09/2006 15:04

Have been to midwife, and was told iron tablets can be got on repeat prescription so I didn't need to see GP or midwife for it. So whoever mentioned this earlier, your GP surgery can probably sort it out without an appointment.

Hope all those who had appointments today have as straightforward a time as I did. No problems at all, baby definitely head down because he/she kicked the mw when she was measuring my bump. Growth is slowing down now, which is expected apparently.

Debz99 · 26/09/2006 15:17

Got midwife tomorrow HC there was a trace of sugar in my wee last time but I had eaten breakfast and then done a wee so she thinks it could have been that, so hopefully it will be back to normal tomorrow. Glad your appointment went well.

NatalieJane · 26/09/2006 16:21

I have finished painting for today, I am getting really bored of it now, but it is still no where near finished! Doesn't help I have really bad heartburn again, everytime I move it flares up, and I am swelling up, my wedding rings are so tight, I can't get them off. And just to finish the day off nicely, we have Tesco lined up for the evening - oh joy!!

I hope you all have better evenings planned!

LeBe · 26/09/2006 16:53

Thanks mygirl and debz you are definatly a glutton for punishment or very brave, bot sure which! Delia - another one who has suffered, i didnt think M.E/CFS was that commomn but good to know you also have had no problems. Hoping cat glad you had a good appointment at the mw. Ohh debz you do live the life of luxury! only joking the most i do most weeks is a shop at asda

Anyway i've been to the mw and told her about the m.e and she said not too worry at the mo but keep an eye on myself to make sure my health is ok. She kept saying well done you are doing well, but i just kept saying 'i havent done anything really' also he hasnt changed position (luckily) but she can now only feel 3/5 whereas before she could feel 5/5 so that means he has gone in 2/5 - is that right?? Everything else was good to so im really please. Hope everyone elses appointments went well too - Oh yeah and good luck tom debz hope everything is normal this time! x

LeBe · 26/09/2006 16:54

Sorry that life of luxury bit was for NJ

LeBe · 26/09/2006 17:17

Oh yeah and does anyone have any tips on how to wee in the little bottles they give you, do people not realise how difficult it is when you cant see what your doing! Its so inconsiderate!!

Debz99 · 27/09/2006 08:00

Lebe - I did wonder what it was I did that made my life luxury I couldn't remember posting anything to make anyone the slightest bit jealous LOL

Weeing in those little bottles is a matter of precision and skill, in other words just hold it underneath you and hope for the best !

Alternatively you could invest in a little jug to pee in then throw it away after LO arrives. Me I just hope for the best !

Had some very very light spotting yesterday just five or six little spots and a few very mild period type pains last night will mention to midwife today when I see her, however I think I read this is quite normal this late on am I right?
