Morning Girls,

Thought I would start a new thread as someone suggested further down the last one.

Come and join.

Debbsy, how are things today ? Hope you are feeling better.
Tummy Button is starting to poke out a bit, sort of half in and half out, looks very odd.
We brought our buggy yesterday - we have gone for this one , being delivered a week Friday. Can't wait to get it home and have a push.

Not even thought about hospital bag yet. When I was pregnant with DD, I'm sure I already had it packed by now. We had one for labour and one for afterwards which worked quite well, think we will do the same this time.
Carseat - I had to stay in after having DD so DH brought the carseat up to the hospital the next day with him. I think we will put it in the car ready this time though as hoping to be in and out in a flash

Also names, what has everyone decided on ?

We are going to Casey Mae (Mae being middle name) or Jess if we have a girl and either Jude or Lennie for a boy. Boys names proving much harder this time, we had one picked from the off last time and never even considered changing it once, now there are lots we like but none we love

Morining!

I hope your feeling a bit beter and calmer today Debbsy.

I have trawled the net and decided im going to get everything i can from babies r' us, except my pushchair which im getting from argos. Im getting this with the sure start grant. Im also buying ds his first toddler bed but shhhh on that one! my midwife gave me a lecture about only buying thigs the baby will need!

Anyway im doing quite well on bargins and im hoping from what i already have and what i have looked at online i will get everything for around £350.

Names. Well my mum and MIL is determined its a girl in which case it will be Phoebe-Skye.

My nan and dp and i think it's a boy i which case it will be Joey William. (thats regestered as actually Joey not Joseph!)

I know what you mean about boy's names we have found it so hard this time, our short list was oscar, lenny, Max and Jamie i still really like jamie byt my father little boy is called jamie and DP says it's wierd even though i haven't spoken to him for 5 yrs and that was brief!

Im'm not bothered either way and i have clothes for both but everything else im buying in cream!

DebbsyandBibby · 29/08/2006 10:06

morning all no nothing has changed dh spoke to me this morning as if nothing has happened so i was civil but quiet as i still feel v v v upset and hardly slept last nite i still feel extremely angry at his mum and really dont think i should see her for a while.Hope everyone is well xx thanks fopr all advice.

Bethbe · 29/08/2006 10:16

Hi everyone!

Sooo much to catch up on.

Debbsy: Sorry to hear about your MIL battle. If it's any help my friends DP rowed every weekend and believed this would continue. However, when the LO came, he found that he just didn't want to so much as this was his special time with the babe, being at work all week. My friend did encourage this though, by letting him know that this was HER special time to have a break from that babe!

Sounds to me like your issue is with your DP though not your MIL. You shouldn't need to argue with her, - his loyalties should be with you and she's his mother. If your mother was picking a fight with your DP would you put her in her place or expect your DP to argue back? Hope this doesn't sound too harsh!!!!

FoghornLeghorn · 29/08/2006 11:48

Just had midwife appointment. Meant to be 28 weeks today but am measuring 31 weeks - midwife said baby is either big or my dates are wrong. DD always measured a week or so over on the dates but 3 weeks is a bit extreme .
All is fine though, baby is lying Transverse and could hear heartbeat perfectly.

Absolutely love the name Joey but DH not keen on it, we've had a few disagreements like that .
Debbsy Not exactly what you need at the minute is it - rowing when pregnant always makes things seem so much worse too

morning all... wow new thread for the last run... it's funny that everyone keeps saying not much longer now, but it's still 3 months away!! thats 3 months of not peeeing properly, walking around in pain, heartburn and lack of sleep! oh the joys!!

we've decided on names now... we think!! kyra louise for a girl, for a boy luke daniel. the girls name was easy but boys names are hard for us, lots we like but none we love also! we used our favourite name on ds and kept joking we would call this one owen2 when we couldn't agree on anything!

debbsy, more big hugs!!! hope your feeling a bit better this morning!! men always forget rows a lot easier than women... xx

Mummy2Toby · 29/08/2006 12:28

Hi all - just a quick one, I have had a bit of a panic this morning, I went to Tescos with ds and when we got back for some reason I forgot to put the latch on the front door never done that before - anyway to cut a long story short ds shut the door and locked himself in the house on his own!!! I was beside myself - had to knock on next doors house to borrow the phone and ask my Dad to come round to break in .... it seemed like forever before he arrived but all is well now.
On the names front, I think our favourite is Sophie Eva, but other in the running are Charlotte, Freya and Francesca (all with middle name Eva)

podglet · 29/08/2006 12:37

Hi,

More hugs Debbsy - hope things improve this evening.

Hurrah for the new thread - bet we have another new one before we all pop as we are all so chatty!

Names - girl is sorted Elizabeth Jeanette (Libby)
Boy - really difficult as we like loads, shortlist is: Ivan, Charlie, Andrew, David, Martin & George! (David and Martin will only be used as middle names) We have decided to wait and see, if it is a boy, which name fits him best.
Surname will be DP's

Back at work today but only 8 1/2 weeks to go before mat leave - hurrah!

podglet · 29/08/2006 12:38

Sorry - Mummy2Toby - that must have been really scary until your Dad turned up. Is it possible you could leave a spare set of keys with your neighbour incase it happens again?

fatbetty · 29/08/2006 12:44

So much has been going on that I haven't had time to catch up yet as I was just quickly popping in.

Belly button has now popped out (feel like a roast chicken! Does that mean that I'm done? ). DS1 has found a new game in putting his toy cars on my belly and watch them wobble about. I tell him that the baby wants to play with him too.

Over the weekend we went to look at car seats as DS1 could go into a booster seat - which we thought would leave move room in the back seat. But it looks like our car won't fit three car seats in the back seat so now we may be facing getting a different car!! Do any of you have three car seats in the back? How do people do it?

Spent yesterday doing DIY. DH was patching up some cracks in the walls and repainting them with paint the previous owners left. However they didn't really tell us which paint goes where so spent the majority of the day testing out paints and now have big blob marks on several walls. Looks like we will have to repaint a couple of rooms now...and the fumes are terrible. I've never had a reaction to paint fume, even with the previous pgs.

Was thinking of you on Saturday Stacey!

eeyoreuk · 29/08/2006 13:44

Hi all

had a shopping splurge on Sunday and went to Babies r us in TAmworth and got the last of the essentials. Anything i get no is a treat!!

LO has taken on the form of an alien this weekend and is moving all over the place with lots of sticking out bits - was even playing with it yesterday when it stuck a foot out i would gently push it so it would then move to another spot and do it again this went on for over 5 mins.

debbsy hope everything sorts it self out for you soon
well really busy at work will catch up later

Kaybee7777 · 29/08/2006 13:57

Hi all,
Can anyone advise on how long it's feasable for a baby to sleep in a moses basket? I keep reading different things and it's getting annoying! Not sure whether to bother buying a cot as we are planning to move to NZ next year.

Sounds like you are really organised eeyoreuk - I feel like we still have hardly anything for baby, though I guess in the next month or so we will have to just go and have big shopping spree

pinkmagic1 · 29/08/2006 14:01

Havn't posted for so long as been so busy, so got lots of catching up to do! You lot are makeing me feel so un-organized as I have tons of stuff to get yet athough I can reuse alot of bits from last time.
As for names we have decided on Yasmina (was going to use Yasmin but noticed it was becoming quite popular) or Ayisha.

MommyUpNorth · 29/08/2006 14:04

Hello Ladies! Haven't been on the thread in a while and have been going through a major house decluttering and re-sorting everything.

We haven't really discussed any names at all. By this time with the other 3 we had both girl and boy names sorted. Just realised when I became pregnant this time that each of children have a double letter in their first names, so am thinking maybe of keeping the tradition. Will have to pull out my name book soon.

Have bought a few (ok more than a few!) new unisex baby outfits for the first months, but other than that I haven't needed anything new. I do want to get another one of those baby bouncer things that they just sit on and sort of lightly bounce... can't think what they're called. We have the fisher price one already, but I'd like the sheepskin one as it looks so cosy!

Had my consultant appointment today and it went really well as he's all for homebirths and told me to stay as far away as possibly from doctors and hospitals! LOL! I think even they know that the hospitals up here aren't up to much.

Well, I did say I'm in the middle of a clear out, so I can hear the hallway calling my name again.

MommyUpNorth · 29/08/2006 14:11

For the moses basket isn't about 6 months? I think that's how long we had our DD in it, but she was under 7lbs at birth, so maybe it lasted a little longer with her. She was our first, and then with the next 2 boys, they slept with us until about 6/9 months and then when right into a cot in our room.

podglet · 29/08/2006 15:18

Think with the moses basket (and cribs) that you can keep them in it until they start sitting up on their own (which I believe is about 6 months anyway) as they are then at risk of tipping it over... There may also be weight restrictions on them but not sure about this.

saralou100 · 29/08/2006 17:01

ds lived in his moses basket for 8 weeks before he looked to big and unstable to carry on, then went straight into his cot bed... he has always been incredibly long though..

FoghornLeghorn · 29/08/2006 17:07

mygirllolipop - my midwife didn't really say what would happen if I was still measuring big at my next visit in 4 weeks, she just sort of brushed it off.
Was panicking earlier thinking if I had lost 3 weeks somewhere, I have been quite happy plodding along thinking i've still got 3 weeks left, whole new ball game having 9 left
