Morning Girls,

Thought I would start a new thread as someone suggested further down the last one.

Come and join.

Debbsy, how are things today ? Hope you are feeling better.
Tummy Button is starting to poke out a bit, sort of half in and half out, looks very odd.
We brought our buggy yesterday - we have gone for this one , being delivered a week Friday. Can't wait to get it home and have a push.

Not even thought about hospital bag yet. When I was pregnant with DD, I'm sure I already had it packed by now. We had one for labour and one for afterwards which worked quite well, think we will do the same this time.
Carseat - I had to stay in after having DD so DH brought the carseat up to the hospital the next day with him. I think we will put it in the car ready this time though as hoping to be in and out in a flash

Delia - are you bored with us lot then? and i agree with NJ about the cold stuff, anything cold gets my lo wriggling.

NJ - I was gonna put that but then thought i might have offended people, plus it usually only me moaning so thought peoplae might think 'cheek!'

Debz99 · 22/09/2006 14:49

Hi Expatsarah welcome to the boards, everyone is really friendly here so feel free to chat or ask any questions ! As you can see, I do !LOL

Delia · 22/09/2006 14:53

Board! how could I be board I think our thread is probably the most talked on thread on the site! it moves so fast people cant keep up with us! I just think that another intellegent mind to join the rest of us will improve on our overall appeal .

Have you noticed that there are alot of names on the stats list that don't seem to post anymore? I wonder if they are all okay?

NatalieJane · 22/09/2006 14:55

I think we each of us do our fair share of moaning And anyway woman who are fed up and pregnant deserve somewhere to come and moan! (Well that's my excuse anyway )

LeBe · 22/09/2006 15:25

Yeah thats my way of looking at it too. I used to get sympathy from friends, co-workers etc. but its worn a bit thin now and its good to come on hear and know everyone is in the same boat and there is no shortage of sympathy.

Delia - i was only joking

Debz99 · 22/09/2006 15:35

Its weird, when I was in the early stages of PG everyone had something to say, what to do , not to do, what to eat, how I would feels etc etc. Now its like they hardly remember i'm PG most of the time and I have been feeling and looking pretty crap lately LOL Do you think they have lost interest or are just to polite to say "god you look shit"

LeBe · 22/09/2006 15:39

You should be grateful debz that everyone is too polite, people seem to love telling me i look drawn and tired etc. But i dont help cos i push them into telling me by pestering them like 'my stretchmarks are worse arent they?' and wont shutup until they agree with me

NatalieJane · 22/09/2006 15:41

With out sounding awful Debz, I think non-pregnant people do get fed up of pregnant people. Perhaps 'fed up' is the wrong term, but I'd say it is definatly easy for people to get used to you being pregnant, and it will only all come back to them once the next big stage happens, for some of you this will be maternity leave, the rest of us probably the birth.

Debz99 · 22/09/2006 15:43

I must admit, when I was not PG and the other ladies in the office were PG I used to think, god I wish they would shut up about that bloody bump or what's all the fuss about she is only PG !!! If only I knew !

NatalieJane · 22/09/2006 15:56

LOL It get's even worse than that for me, my first pregnancy was so easy, I had nothing except a little bit of trouble pulling my knickers up LOL So, when ever a pregnant person started on about how tired/bad/rough they were feeling, I would also think oh for crying outloud, you are only pregnant FFS!! But now... now I understand!!

LOL at MGLollipop!

Welcome ExpatSarah, - they're all lovely here. Put my mind at rest many times! Is it your first?

Lebe: I've been reading those wierd threads too, - where people/a person has been crying 'Wolf' apprently! Very odd, and such a shame because there can be a lot to worry about at this time and I'd like to believe people and offer support rather than think 'are they making it up?'!

NatalieJane · 22/09/2006 16:20

LOL Mygirl!

I feel quite sorry for whoever it was that made up those threads, there has got to be more to it than meets the eye. But, the people who have been through the same sort of situation, well, I can't imagine how they feel reading it.

LeBe · 22/09/2006 16:43

It does make me wonder why would someone make that sort of thing up it seems a bit pointless to me, maybe im being a bit insensitive.

As for getting off the floor it is a military operation in my household poor dp will probably put his back out soon as he has to literally heave me up by my arms, always seems a good idea before i get down there!

Debz - i think i might try and get out the bath that way it seems a bit easier than my technique, whats the betting i turn over and get wedged?? If im not on here for a while then you know why!!

Anyway its nearly hometime and i have a lovely trip to asda planned so must go, i hope everyone has a lovely weekend with no problems or pains (oh bliss)

NatalieJane · 22/09/2006 16:55

I should be off as well, DH is fitting the carpet tomorrow, and then taking all the stuff upstairs on Sunday, and hopefully painting the kitchen ceiling so I can get on with the walls next week, all systems go in our house!!

See you all next week if I don't catch up over the weekend, TC xxx

saralou100 · 22/09/2006 18:10

i'm free.. free!!!! no more work for 8 months!!!

got a magazine here on pregnancy, which has a rather interesting little fact in in.... a researh study done in finland has found that 6 month old babies tended to smile and laugh more if their mum's ate chocolate regularly during their pregnancy!! the best excuse in the world to eat more chocolate (just for you stacey)

i've got lots of stuff to do with all this time me and ds have, going to visit my mummy and daddy for a few days, get to be looked after for a change! so will also get to see best friend who i haven't seen in months.. she hasn't even met bump yet, so i'm really looking forward to seeing her.. and my sister, again haven't seen her or my nephew in ages!! very excited now!!

ExpatSarah · 22/09/2006 18:11

Hi Bethbe - Yes, it's our first. I haven't had any problems to speak of till today (well, last night). Didn't get any sleep at all as I couldn't, for the life of me, find a comfy position! Had to leave work at lunchtime and come home for a nap! Not at all like me as I'm a complete workaholic.

LadyAnne1stTimeMum · 22/09/2006 20:30

There is so much information on this thread at the moment I can't keep up!

saralou - love the chocolate fact... any excuse (lucky you for getting free from work .. I wish I had some more holiday so I could escape.. oh well)

expatsarah - I'm having difficulties getting comfy - and when I do I can almost guarentee that I need the loo within minutes. (especially as baby seems to have decided to use my bladder as a punch bag)

To all those who sound like they are rebuilding their houses - good luck! Every now and then I pop into the baby's room (aka storeroom) - sort a few bits then feel so overwhelmed - I have to get out of there. I'm hoping I can pursuade the cavlary (some of DP's family) to help out.

Slight nesting instinct kicking in though - I'm finding the urge to clean the kitchen worksurfaces on a more regular basis.

DP has got a flu like bug (first time in he's been ill in years)... anyone would think he needs the last rites! ... still I suppose it gives me practice looking after a big baby... (Luckily my current passion for loads of fruit and fruit juice seems to be putting up pretty good barrier against it)

Anyhow, See ya all again - have a lovely weekend. LA

staceym11 · 23/09/2006 13:52

hello everyone and welcome expatsarah!!!

im obviously the only one around on this lovely sunshiny day!! well dh is working and as its hot (and i still dont fancy fainting) me and dd are resigned to sitting in and watching tv and messing around etc.

HC - i am on 4 weekly intervals atm (due 13th nov) after the appointment in 2 weeks (il be 34 weeks) itl be 2 weeks till i drop i think, maybe 1 week intervals if i get to 38 weeks. i didnt with dd, she was early.

Sarah - thats good news for me then, il have a nice smily baby boy! if that works he'll prob never get a stupid grin off his face the amount of chocolate that i eat!!!

well no more contractions (well one but im ignoring that!) so averageing about once a day, i can deal with that! lol hve to acctually do breathing excercises till it passes, whereas my bh i jsut have to shift position.

wish i got maternity leave, dont think dd would understand the prospect tho!! she is quite good at leaving me be if beebies is on the tv!

Charleesunnysunsun · 23/09/2006 19:57

Evening ladies

Welcome newcomers!

Having read my previous posts i have come to the conclusion i only post on here to moan or tell you of my woes! I am very sorry im going to post more positivley from now on!

I had a decent night sleep, not full but nearly and that's good enough for me.
It was dp's 21st birthday today and we had a really nice day, i hope he did to! We had a lovley meal with MIL, BIL, SIL, my mum and ds they even brought us a bottle of expensive champagne because we had put 21st birthday baloons all round dp's chair!

Then we had a couple of bowling games which dp really enjoys i won one game he won the next it was really fun and he seemed to genuinley like his pressies.

I have got my hospital bag packed and jurking in the cupboard just in case but the bh's have died down a bit today i'm still getting a few but not to bad a bath seems to really help, though they say thats how to tell the difference between bh's and real labour as labour wont go away with a bath!

I have started my practical parentng course which is aimed for ds but i can use the techniques on the new baby to, what they say so far seems to be making alot of sense so i'm deffo going to try them out, its a nice group the other ladies are friendly and we have a laugh and they provide choccy!

I hope you all have a lovley weekend

staceym11 · 24/09/2006 11:14

definately no one around over the weekends! lol

well i had a horrible night last night, didnt get to sleep till after 2 and then was up and down all night. feel horrible this morning but hey ho life must go on.

Charlee - so what do these practical parenting people advise with toddlers then? iv never even thought about going on a course, just seem to muddle along!

as you can tell (as im never on over the weekend) dh is still working, im so bored being on my own, he did come home early yesterday which was lovely, until i realised it was only really to watch the football.....gggrrr.

well sure start sent my form back and the midwife didnt write down a contact address and telephone number, so i need to get her to do that then send it back, only problem is that it has to be done within a month and i dont have my next midwife appointment for 2 weeks so its gunna be a bit tight. if only i lived close i could just pop in and ask her to fill it in, but as i aitn moved my surgery etc yet then its a trek and i dont feel confident going out alone.....oh no fun!

right will stop moaning and go away!

MGLP - I love Red Dwarf! I have moments when i think to myself OMG i have to give birth! But then i breath through it and think that the baby has got to come out one way or another!

Stacey - Practicle parenting courses - my sister dragged me along and it's not really to bad! There not patronising at all like i thought they might be they just give basic tips and hints on what disipline works and what doesnt and gives us a chance to vent about being parents! Its quite fun we all just chat and eat choccy and drink tea

LadyAnne1stTimeMum · 24/09/2006 16:50

Thank goodness I'm not the only one! I had a really painful BH yesterday - went right through from my back all across my bump - all I was doing was chilling on the sofa. It really took me by surprise and scared the daylights out of me (it's my first remember)- I suppose I'll have to get used to it. Before this one - I used to get tightness and then that was it and I was thinking - "if that's all there is to it, I'll be fine". Anyhow - have started to get bits together for my bags (have been advised to get more than one) - still no progress on shifting boxes - I'm just too tired and DP is still poorly.

Speak to ya all again. Have a good one. LA

FoghornLeghorn · 25/09/2006 08:49

Gosh, got lots to catch up on.

Just a quick update. BIL's gf was discharged on Friday lunchtime - they wanted to keep her in under observation for a few more days as the tests had come back clear so were usure what was going on - she asked to go home though because she couldn't sleep etc. She called me Saturday asking what it was like to go into labour and do you know what I couldn't describe it and for a split second I had forgot.

Got midwife tomorrow - hopefully she will tell me something I want to hear regarding the size of this baby
