Morning Girls,

Thought I would start a new thread as someone suggested further down the last one.

Come and join.

Debbsy, how are things today ? Hope you are feeling better.
Tummy Button is starting to poke out a bit, sort of half in and half out, looks very odd.
We brought our buggy yesterday - we have gone for this one , being delivered a week Friday. Can't wait to get it home and have a push.

Not even thought about hospital bag yet. When I was pregnant with DD, I'm sure I already had it packed by now. We had one for labour and one for afterwards which worked quite well, think we will do the same this time.
Carseat - I had to stay in after having DD so DH brought the carseat up to the hospital the next day with him. I think we will put it in the car ready this time though as hoping to be in and out in a flash

Morning everyone

FHLH, At least if nothing else, your SIL hasn't actually given birth yet, as we all know up until quite close to the due date, every day helps

Mygirl, I am with you with the painful BH, on Saturday I helped DH move something (wasn't heavy just big and hard for one person to move alone!) and straight away I got a BH that I actually had to breathe through like a proper contraction, scared us both witless!! LOL I got a couple of other rumblings and have had a very dull period type pain since, but nothing else as strong as the first one!

Does it always work that 2nd(+) time mums get stronger/regular BH just because the body has done it before?

Well we have had another weekend of no rest, DH worked Saturday AM, then he fitted the carpet in the nursery (keeping in mind he has never fitted a carpet before he did a really good job, I expected it to be bumpy and moving about, but it isn't) and he did it in half the time we thought it would take him, so he also got the furniture and all of the 'bits and pieces' up there, so we now have a nearly complete nursery!! All thats left to do up there is put the curtain pole and curtains up, put the light shade up (after DH has changed the actually lamp bit that hangs down from the ceiling - no idea what it's called!), put all of the handles on the furniture, put a few shelves up and hang some pictures on the wall I keep having to go upstairs and have a look at it!! LOL I sit there in my glider chair ( ) and just think about the baby and what it will really mean to have a little newborn around again Half of me thinks awwww, other half of me wants to run away quickly!!!

Right I am off to paint the kitchen walls I think my hand has gotten that used to holding a paint brush over these last few weeks, it will never straighten back out again!

(Sorry for another long post - always the same after the weekend!)

NatalieJane · 25/09/2006 11:30

Goodness it is quiet this morning, I just made a cuppa and thought I would check MN before it runs away too far for me to catch up with everyone, and it is dead!

Where is everyone?

DebbsyandBibby · 25/09/2006 11:41

nj very envious of you having done your nursery ours is all painted curtains up and border and lights no blooming furniture though its still in the blessed garage just a little bit agitated about it now grrrrrr think im just nesting and want everything done.

Morning everyone

I would comment on everyones weekends posts but it will take me all day and seeing as its my last week at work (yey) i better not be too long. Had a nice weekend actually, lo seems to have heard all my moaning and has moved out of my ribs and back and i only get pains at night now really, sometimes i forget im pg now (i know im blessed!) but also my bump has really dropped i think that has something to do with it, its a really weird shape now and just hanging right down. I didnt even get dressed on sat, spent all day in my pj's it was sooo lovely and then spent yesterday at mums being looked after and eating. Got the mw tom hopefully he has moved further down and he is getting ready for launch, i really keep imagining him being here now i cant wait!!! This is my last monday at work too, im excited but i also feel slightly scared, bet hey ho. Off to get some lunch in a min, any suggestions?? (im useless at decision making) xx

DebbsyandBibby · 25/09/2006 12:16

lebe wow last week at work you jammy thing when are you due again?

LeBe · 25/09/2006 12:26

Debsy - dont say that i feel so guilty about all you others staying on. Im due the 6th Nov so really had to leave at the end of a month and didnt really wanna leave a week before, especially as all the mw's and docs keep telling me how huge lo is and gave me 3 original dates in October! Hopefully he will come in Oct and then i wont feel so lazy (well thats my excuse anyway)

NatalieJane · 25/09/2006 12:31

Debbsy, I know what you mean about the nesting It is a shame mine hasn't reached actualy housework, just decorating - everywhere!!

Mygirl, I didn't find the after pains too bad last time, when the milk first came down in each feed I'd have a toe crunchingly horrendously painfull 10 seconds or so, and then it would go and I was fine again, I have heard people get them a lot worse though! I actually think I healed very quickly last time, I was up and about 3 hours after I'd had him, and 3 days later we went to Tesco (I was climbing the walls wanting to get out of the house) but then I got an infection and the tiredness hit, and that is the bit I am not looking forward to this time! And I got baby blues, DS was born on the Monday, by the Thursday for an hour each evening for about 5 days, no matter what I was doing, or who was there, I just cried, not sobbing or anything like that, I just couldn't stop the tears! It was wierd!!

Lebe HOORAY You have made it to the last week, You will have to get someone with internet access to let us know when you have the baby, else we won't ever know!!

Forgot to say as well, I have a stretch mark creeping up from my belly button, it is all red and yuk, I had forgotten how much they bloody itch when they are stretched Thought I was going to get away with it this time...

DebbsyandBibby · 25/09/2006 12:34

lebe lol i finish on the 8th nov so relax now sit back and chill
nj mines surpassed himself at housework i have to do none hee hee cant without getting out of breath

Hi All! I haven't been on here for ages and haven't caught up with all the news. But a big congratulations to those who have left work or about ready to. For myself, I can't believe that I have a few weeks left before baby arrives - well, 8 weeks but that time is going to fly! Feel like I have loads to do before the baby arrives - suppose it's just nesting.

We bought a car to hold our expanding brood since our Jeep wouldn't hold 3 car seats. We ended up with a Kia Sedona and we get it this weekend. Kind of nervous about getting behind the wheel of something that large!

Don't know if I'm experiencing BH contractions - but every now and then I get like a period pain for a few moments and then that's it! Nothing more. Don't think I really had BH contractions with DS1 and DS2.....think I would remember that.

Lebe I'm due same day as you, and have 3 weeks left to work. I don't feel too uncomfy at work though as it's a desk job and not very stressful.

I've now seen all 3 of my friend's babies so am slightly less scared of holding newborns now. Has anyone ever wondered if unborn babies can sense newly born babies? When I was holding my friend's 4 day old ds, my LO started kicking and moving loads. I think I've heard someone say that tiny babies can bring on labour, something to do with hormones being released?

Think I am getting BH now. I never notice a few at a time, I just know that my whole bump goes hard sometimes. It doesn't hurt, it's just weird.

FoghornLeghorn · 25/09/2006 13:21

God, afternpains - something else to remember !
Congraulations on hitting your last week Lebe, it's my last week at work too and it's a lovely feeling isn't it

I don't think I have any new stretchmarks this time but my stomach already looked like a tube map from DD anyway so couldn't exactly get much worse.

NJ - I know it has felt like an eternity to get here! But am feeling a bit sad now like an end of an era but i cant wait for my new chapter to begin!! Ive just realised im 34 weeks today!! Dear God i can remember the pain staking wait to get to 12 weeks (they were the worst, with all the worrying) but now im here and it feels strange, i remember at the begining saying i cant go anywhere in Oct i will be too big and now im still pushing my hoover round and stuff.

Debsy - i will relax but i do feel a bit lazy when everyone else is soildering on for another month, plus im sure the 1st week will be fine but then the novelty will wear off and i will be bored (sorry im not going to moan).

I will be able to go on the net at my mums and stuff, so dont worry you will know when he arrives i will just miss be on here everyday talking about my problems and listen to your stories. Hopefully after xmas we will sort it out so we can have the net at home too. x

Charleesunnysunsun · 25/09/2006 13:39

Afternoon, i have just picked up ds from his first day of playschool. The staff have all fallen in love with him! He had a good day he's knackered now just chilling on the sofa drifting off to sleep.

I am having horrible BH's today they seem to last for 4-5 mins a time and go so hard it hurts! I thought i was getting them when i was pregnant with ds but now i compare it to this i know i wasn't then!

I have stretch marks! Not nearly as many as before i had tons beofre every midwife andd rcmmented on them! Thsi time there is just a half moon shape of them round the top of my belly button like sun rays

NatalieJane · 25/09/2006 14:40

LOL Charlee that is exactly what the top of my belly looks like! I had loads everywhere with DS, from my belly button down to half way down my thighs at the front, and from the top of my bum down to my knees at the back This time, and only in the last few days, one that just started when I had DS has grown up my belly up towards my boobs. Glad your DS enjoyed his first day, he will change so much over the next few months, all of a sudden they stop being your little boy, and you look at them one day and realise they really are big boys!!

Sorry I have ran out of time, have got to get changed before I go pick DS up, I am covered in paint! I have a black top on which was covered in paint from the nursery, so I stuck it on today to do the kitchen, and managed to brush up against where I had painted, so I have two green boobs and a green bump!! LOL Catch you all later xxx

OW OW OW!! Think i just had some BH i was sat in the office and just started cursing everyone ignored me, charming hey!! I really wish i knew what they were for definate, but i will explain and hopefully one of you more experienced can let me know? It was in the middle of my stomach and it was like the baby was pushing out but i dont think he can push that hard unless he was 'superbaby' and it was hard and then relaxed and i had a couple of them and nothing since - any ideas? Ive had a stressful day and have fallen out with nearly everyone, but it was justified and not just hormones - i swear. Anyway i hope everyone has had a better afternoon than me xx

Debz99 · 25/09/2006 16:09

Good afternoon all !

Taken me this long to catch up !

Went for my second ante natal class on saturday and watch a very graphic video of a lady giving birth and it has scared me sensless ! I obviously knew what to expect but it just looked so ... bad !

Washed all babies stuff at the weekend and ironed it and packed babies bag, made a start on my bag, well small suitacase as my holdalls are all too small ! Just go a few bits to get and put in then I will be organised ! Anyone else agonising over the size of bag to take it, bearing in mind they say your stay can be between 1-3 days, what with packs of nappies and maternity pads it all takes up so much room !

Been in tears on and off nearly all weekend, anything will set me off One bit of good news DP has a job and starts tomorrow.

LeBe · 25/09/2006 16:39

Debz - ive got two bags to take into hospital with me, one with all my stuff and one with all the babies stuff in. I thought about that, you could be in for a while but then i thought if you are your husband or someone can always go and get you stuff you need. But i know what you mean about taking up room. Also i watched the videos at my classes and everyone seemed to deal with it really well, maybe they only showed us the good ones but im worried i will be a wreck.

Sorry to hear youve been getting upset i know what you mean tho, im like Jekyll and Hyde one minute im biting peoples heads off and the next im laughing uncontrolably. I even cried at Herbie the other night - he looked so sad!

Thanks for the congrats everyone, after the day ive had today i cant wait to leave now!! x

HopingCat · 25/09/2006 16:43

I am considering packing a hospital bag with one of everything in (eg pack of nappies, pack of maternity towels) to take into hospital, and packing another bag to keep in the boot of the car with lots of extras in. Then DH can bring it for me if I'm in hospital more than a couple of days, and I will be confident that it will have what I want in it.

The hospital wards do not have lots of space for suitcases, so I'm intending to pack a labour bag seperate to my hospital bag, then I can send things home with DH after the birth.

Debz99 · 25/09/2006 16:57

I lied actually I did pack two bags then got myself upset saying I cant possibly take all this into hospital DP sat me down, calmed me down and we started again ! I have now packed one of everything into one case with the "extras bag" taking up residence in the boot of the car which can be brought in when needed.

Had to pack a case though for stuff that's really needed as the holdall is far too small.

LeBe · 25/09/2006 17:01

Hopingcat - that is a really good idea actually i might do the same

Debz - bless you for getting upset about it, but i thought 'i cant take a suitcase' but then everyone ive asked has said they did so why not? xx
