Morning Girls,

Thought I would start a new thread as someone suggested further down the last one.

Come and join.

Debbsy, how are things today ? Hope you are feeling better.
Tummy Button is starting to poke out a bit, sort of half in and half out, looks very odd.
We brought our buggy yesterday - we have gone for this one , being delivered a week Friday. Can't wait to get it home and have a push.

Not even thought about hospital bag yet. When I was pregnant with DD, I'm sure I already had it packed by now. We had one for labour and one for afterwards which worked quite well, think we will do the same this time.
Carseat - I had to stay in after having DD so DH brought the carseat up to the hospital the next day with him. I think we will put it in the car ready this time though as hoping to be in and out in a flash

OP posts:

Debz - see 10 weeks seems like AGES away to me maybe i wil be screaming for help when i've only go 5 weeks to go.

We are having a cot from bf's sister and i havent even seen it yet although im assured it is lovely and we are having a moses basket of a friend which i also havent seen yet and im panicing now because like some of you i feel its not complete without it and where is he going to sleep!!! Even though he will be in our room to start so its not even as if the nursery looks bare without it, plus we dont have our wardrobe yet so the babies room is scattered with clothes anyway - ok now im getting depressed again

Debz99 · 31/08/2006 11:28

Lebe ... just think how quickly your first 10 weeks went .... sorry to panic you but don't want to panic alone LOL !

LeBe · 31/08/2006 12:19

Debz - yeah i guess your right but my pg seems to have gone on for years! I think it feels like that because i found out so early. But actually when I think of 8-10 weeks of my life as I know it and then all change forever (albeit a good change) then ok i will start panicing with you now arrgghh! Feel better now?

Delia · 31/08/2006 12:34

NJ - don't panic! i thought i would struggle on the pushchair front as my sister recons i can't drive any of them! i went to babies R us and brought a 3 wheel graco expedition system it's really light and easy to put up/down and is a little narrower than most i have seen so may be good on public transport. I found the girl at the shop really helpfull, she listened to my list of wants and suggested the best options.

Like the rest of you i have been fixated on the cot from the start and we have had it flat packed in the spare room until last weekend, none of the family seem interested in buying anything for bump (or asking what we want) other than my mum who is clothes and toiletories obsessed, so we just went ahead - i panic if i don't have things sorted way before hand!

My fixation now is what am i going to do when the baby is born - i know nothing! i know i'll pick it up as we go along but somehow that is not much of a concelation at the moment i think we all need something to panic about even though we know we'll be okay in the end.

Debz99 · 31/08/2006 12:47

LeBe .. yes thank you feeling much better LOL I found out when I was approx 7 weeks and it's flown by for me !

LeBe · 31/08/2006 12:55

Debz - i found out when i was 4 weeks but thought i was further gone until i had my scan and then i had to go back 3 weeks! I dont think the fact that i have done nothing but worry for the last 8 months has helped! Im sure ive got grey hairs and im only 23!!! I suppose actually looking back on it it has gone quite quick hmmmm. I hope when he gets here it will go slowly tho cos i want to savour every moment with him.

I think we have sort of decided on the Quinny Speedi SX, it is essentially the same as the Buzz, but the chassis is different enough for it not to cause all of the problems I read about on the Buzz, basically the Speedi is slightly longer than the Buzz, and it doesn't have the auto unfolding thing that the Buzz has (which from what I can gather is the main culprit in the bad reviews!) so now the search begins on who has it for the best price and in stock, I am not taking the risk of someone taking the money off my card again only to turn round and say they don't have it in stock!

On a very different note, I am sat here with DS listening to the Christmas CD!!! LOL #Santa Claus is coming to town....!!#

Feeling better again now! We have made the choice now and NOTHING is going to stop it this time!! LOL

NatalieJane · 31/08/2006 13:11

10 weeks?? I am happier with my 12 and half weeks thank you very much!

Charleesunnysunsun · 31/08/2006 13:18

Afternoon ladies!

I have been in pain today an annoying ache in my back but it seems to be settling now so fingers crossed it should wear right off!
I have got the new mother and baby mag and it comes with an adorable pram blanket and a babie's r' us catalogue they have loads of stuff i want to get!

I fell down the stairs today, we sleep in an attic room with curly steep steps and i was carrying ds down and fell luckily we were both ok!

We took my nan shopping today she suffers from senial dementia and has decided to start calling me dumpy! bless her

I hope your all ok today

Charleesunnysunsun · 31/08/2006 13:25

here is the travel system were gettig nothing posh and pricey but folds small to fit the boot and is cheapish!

Debz99 · 31/08/2006 13:43

Oh I remember when I had 12 and a half weeks left NJ and believe me blink and you'll be where I am now !!!! Its scarey ! Must remember to pack a bag at some point ....

Debz99 · 31/08/2006 13:49

I had a slight blonde moment (no offence blonde ladies) at the weekend forgot I was pregnant and tried to walk down a bank and slipped on my bum ! Apart from dented pride I was ok !!! So sympathise with you Charleesunnysunsun, however you were being normal I wasn't LOL !

saralou100 · 31/08/2006 14:12

stop being so organised you lot... your stressing me out, not the impending doom of motherhood for a second time!! i think i was like that 1st time though, wanting everything organised and perfect for their arrival!! this time i'm a bit more relaxed!!

i am completely undecided about pushchair... double buggy... or maybe a buggy board... or a sling for beanie.... or stick my head in the sand and deny making this decision a while longer...

going to asda's this afternoon for some new pj's for ds, so i'm gonna get some more newborn sleepsuits and vests, sod my sister. have decided to sell all my stuff on after this one so if she has any more baby's it'll be tough luck for her.. i'm so irritated, when she was pregnant nothing was too much trouble, i handed everything over, moses basket, bouncer, clothes, bedding, toys, all washed and in plenty of time!! mums washed all the clothes for me... sister gave me my door bouncer back covered in food!! issues which have been brushed under the carpet i really feel like telling her the truth (hormones are working over time on this one)

saralou100 · 31/08/2006 14:13

oh, and i prefer to think of 12weeks (which i have left) in terms of 3 months.... sounds a lot longer see, denial!!

Kif · 31/08/2006 14:22

I have.... bought two blue vest and a cardie for bump.

Got a scraggy moses basket and cot. (and about twenty pink-trim vest and sllep suits newborn size - think he;ll be man enough to pull it off!)

And.... that's about it.

Am I behind the curve?

Actually been trying to avoid shopping for bump to save money - so easy to spend spend spend on cute clothes and 'indispensible' kit. Hoping for some thoughtful gifts! (I know my mum has been secretly scouring sales and charity shops for months for littel clothes - albeit i find she has a very weak grasp of sizing).

Two big remaining buys are car seat and Maclaren buggy. After that, saving my cash to buy Dd1 some cool toys (esp. ones that will make her enjoy staying indoors) .

Debz99 · 31/08/2006 14:36

sarahlou I did the same converting weeks to months cos it sounded better !!! However now my brain won't compute months ..... Mmmmmmmm.....

LeBe · 31/08/2006 14:54

Saralou - How annoying are siblings!!! Sorry you have had trouble with you sis but I have to say the baby stuff in Asda is so cute and really cheap you will forget all about it as soon as your cooing over the brand new things you have.

Debz - i often have those moments i always forget im pregnant (god knows how!!) and try to fling myself on the floor etc but am always knidly reminded as soon as im down there.

Charlee - you arent having a good week are you?! im glad you are both ok, please wrap yourself in cotton wool or something.

NJ - So glad you have decided on your pram, maybe you can relax now? although maybe you will be like me and start worrying about something else instead! My latest big problem is will i work out how to fit the car seat.

Mygirl - I know exactly what you mean, i had a dream about giving birth and i actually woke up dissapointed that i hadnt yet!!

Debz99 · 31/08/2006 15:27

For those ladies unlucky enough to be working when are you giving up?? I've decided to work right to the bitter end I finish on 27th October baby due 5th November. That's if I can still walk and get about !!!!!

LeBe · 31/08/2006 15:33

You are braver than me Debz. Im going on the 29th Sept - baby due 6th Nov and i cant wait, im sooooo stressed wish it was my last day!

Debz99 · 31/08/2006 16:25

Maybe I'm kidding myself that I can go on that long !!!!

LeBe · 31/08/2006 16:34

I dont think that you are kidding yourself i just think you dont know until you get there if you know what i mean, i told my employer at 4 months when i would leave but how was i to know that at 31 weeks i would be a beached whale who cant sit on her chair properly anymore and would have lo's feet constantly stuck in her ribs? They cant expect you to know all this!

saralou100 · 31/08/2006 16:40

nothing in asda.... no cute baby stuff in neutral colours and any pj's i liked they didn't have ds's size... but i brought some nice pj's for myself, with button front for feeding!!

i'm giving up work in 3 weeks when i'll be 31 weeks, but only cause i can't run around after patients any more.. it's all well and good saying not to lift heavy things sometimes very hard to do in my job!! that and brain working at a reduced rate leaves me feeling unsafe at times, people keep asking me stuff i should know and i can't remember... plus i want away from all the shitty politics going on, can't be bothered with it...

have this insane feeling like i want to kill someone today, bloody hormones!!!!

Debz99 · 31/08/2006 16:43

Very true LO's feet are stuck in mine at the moment, I have to keep getting up and walking round cos I'm uncomfortable my employer is quite understanding so am lucky in that respect, however there is not much they can do if I need to leave earlier due to ill health or baby arriving early so thought I would push my luck !

LeBe · 31/08/2006 16:49

I know what you mean Saralou - i am raging today! Had an arguement in the bank, fell out with work collegues and could quite happily punch someone at the moment. I think i need to go home and lie in a dark room to calm down. Sorry you didnt find anything you liked in Asda, have you tried Primark? Also Tescos and Woolworths do some lovely stuff at good prices. Im giving up work in 4 weeks i will be 34 weeks nad im counting down the seconds!!!
Also can i just mention, i havent had one single BH does anyone know if this is normal??
