Morning Girls,

Thought I would start a new thread as someone suggested further down the last one.

Come and join.

Debbsy, how are things today ? Hope you are feeling better.
Tummy Button is starting to poke out a bit, sort of half in and half out, looks very odd.
We brought our buggy yesterday - we have gone for this one , being delivered a week Friday. Can't wait to get it home and have a push.

Not even thought about hospital bag yet. When I was pregnant with DD, I'm sure I already had it packed by now. We had one for labour and one for afterwards which worked quite well, think we will do the same this time.
Carseat - I had to stay in after having DD so DH brought the carseat up to the hospital the next day with him. I think we will put it in the car ready this time though as hoping to be in and out in a flash

Afternoon all,

This Lo is due 21st November and I am finishing work 28th September. Only finishing this early because it ties in with the end of a contract at work. Really looking forward to getting to spend loads of time with DD, just the 2 of us. i worked up until 38 weeks with DD so am quite looking forward to the rest.

Feeling sorry for myself - Have got sinusitis and feel like absolute poo My face feels like it is going to explode and I just want to go to sleep but DH is at work and DD wants to go to the park.

Ohhh im really excited now! I felt so left out . Mine are always on the right hand side too. The pillow ive got is like horse-shoe shaped so it goes between your legs and supports your bump, which it does but since ive been using it ive had back ache instead. Also am i being really stupid not knowing what SSMG is?

Charlee you really are oing through it this week, Glad the contractions stopped i wouldve been really scared and probably would have phoned my midwife after the first one!

FHLH - Sorry you feel ill, hope you feel better soon. Hmm lunchtime-what chocolate shall i have??

Debz99 · 01/09/2006 12:52

I have just guzzled 2 large yazoo chocolate milkshakes I feel so bloated now but the first one didn't touch the sides !!!!!!!

Kaybee7777 · 01/09/2006 13:13

I am the same with chocolate at the moment, choc chip muffins and kit kats and dairy milk bars! I also have a bit of an icecream craving going on. Am worried I will be the size of a house by the time lo is born!

Debz99 · 01/09/2006 13:39

I had a thing about lemonade sparkle ice lollies when I was first pregnant gone off them now ate too many boxes LOL!

Lebe, this is my second and I did see the midwife a lot more first time round, and I saw the consultant I think three times in my last pregnancy, this time I said I didn't want to see the consultant (even to this day I don't know what he did that the midwife didn't do!! - except get so confused because my dates had moved that he wanted to induce me before I was even due!!) so this time I said I didn't need or want to see a consultant, and I should have gone for a midwife appointment at 26 weeks but I kept putting it off, I don't like going! There is no way I am going every 2 weeks though, unless there is a medical reason to.

Charlee try and slow down for a bit, more mornings out shopping should do the trick, you have had an awful week of it, take it easy for the next few days!!

Talking of malteasers, has anyone done the thing they do on the advert with the pregnant woman and the malteaser, where the baby kicks the malteaser off her belly? Does it work?!!!

NatalieJane · 01/09/2006 13:51

OMG Debz, LOL I have been going through box after box of Walls lemonade sparklers!! LOL I thought it was just because I can't seem to stop drinking and so they seemed so tempting because of that!!

LeBe · 01/09/2006 13:51

Oh yeah Sure start! Duh my brain is mush. I asked about that but because me and bf work they said i cant get it now but they did say when bubba is born cos im not going back to work i could get it then.

Hmm sparkle lollies i loved them when i was little, ive been lots of sun lollies and fresh orange ones - oh i want one now i did get a twirl tho - heaven!

Kaybee7777 · 01/09/2006 13:52

Haven't tried with malteasers, but if I rest a plate or book on my bump baby kicks it around and tries to get it off!

LeBe · 01/09/2006 13:53

I am ashamed to day i did the malteser thing - my mum kept saying youve got to do it! But the little bugger knew i think cos as soon as i put it on there he didnt move once and they ended up melting - gave up now! lol x

Kaybee7777 · 01/09/2006 13:58

If baby kicks ALL NIGHT long, is this a sign he's not going to sleep well when he comes out!!!??? Please tell me it's not

NatalieJane · 01/09/2006 13:58

It has only been in the last week or two that the baby has reacted to me putting preasure on my bump, as you say when I rest a book on it, or when we are sat in the car he tries to kick the seatbelt away!

I wonder how long it took them to film the malteaser advert?!!

Delia · 01/09/2006 14:01

Afternoon all

been for my scan this morning and bump is looking huge! I have another scan in 5 weeks as my placenta is still being naughty and has plumped it self in the wrong place. They say that bump should be about 8lb 2 if born on edd.

Am i the only one who is not mad on chocolate? i can't decide what i want half the time and just stand there for minutes at a time staring at the food in the cupboard trying to work out what i should have

Delia · 01/09/2006 14:02

my bump reacts more to cold things, goes mad when ever they put the jelly on for dopplers or scanner - maybee you should put the maltesers in the fridge for half hour first!

Debz99 · 01/09/2006 14:14

LO hardly reacts to pressure at all just kicks when he wants to and no-one can make him !!!! Think he is gonna be a stubborn one, wonder where he gets that from ..... Mmmmm LOL !

LeBe · 01/09/2006 14:20

My lo does react to pressure but he is stubborn when it comes to other people feeling hom kick, there is a very select group of people who have felt him (not including some of the grandparents!).

Can anyone tell me why everytime i eat it feels like 2 ton of weight is put on my bladder - it is eat, toilet, eat, toilet sorry if tmi. x

Debz99 · 01/09/2006 14:22

I'm just toilet, toilet, toilet LOL every 10 mins I feel like I could go, if I do it's just a trickle so try as much as I can to hold out. No water infection think LO is using my bladder as a cushion !

Kaybee7777 · 01/09/2006 14:26

I am the same with the toilet
It's so annoying, everytime I go out I have to plan where I'll be able to go to the toilet, it's been like this the whole time! Obviously my bladder is a really comfy place to lie on!

NatalieJane · 01/09/2006 14:38

Try not to hold it in too long, although you would think it toughens up the muscles it actually makes it worse, and after the little darlings have finished using your bladder as a seat, you will erm... not have as much control over it as you would think...

Debz99 · 01/09/2006 14:41

I had slight respite from the loo when I was 5 months pg for about 3 weeks but it's back with a vengence now and not likely to get any better til LO shows his face !

LeBe · 01/09/2006 14:55

Ohh i just thought of something i wanted to ask. Does anyone know which formula milk is good cos i am planning on bf but have been told to get some just incase my milk doesnt satisfy him.

Debz99 · 01/09/2006 14:59

Good question Lebe, have no idea myself I want to BF too but your right about getting some in just in case ! Thanks !

NatalieJane · 01/09/2006 15:10

I don't want to sound awful here, but if you want to BF exclusively, don't buy any formula. There would have been many times I'd have given up BF last time if there had have been formula in the house. Most people live close to a 24 hour Tesco, or whatever, if the worst came to the worst then you can get hold of formula with out too much of a problem. TBH though, it would take a little while for any problem to become clear cut enough for you to know that formula is the way forward, it isn't as though you will suddenly stop producing milk and will then be left with nothing for the baby. Obviously though, it is up to you what you want to do.
