Morning Girls,

Thought I would start a new thread as someone suggested further down the last one.

Come and join.

Debbsy, how are things today ? Hope you are feeling better.
Tummy Button is starting to poke out a bit, sort of half in and half out, looks very odd.
We brought our buggy yesterday - we have gone for this one , being delivered a week Friday. Can't wait to get it home and have a push.

Not even thought about hospital bag yet. When I was pregnant with DD, I'm sure I already had it packed by now. We had one for labour and one for afterwards which worked quite well, think we will do the same this time.
Carseat - I had to stay in after having DD so DH brought the carseat up to the hospital the next day with him. I think we will put it in the car ready this time though as hoping to be in and out in a flash

Hi again

Lebe, I didn't have a BH at all last time, (I went on to be induced at 40+5, so never had a natural contraction) this time I have had loads. Maybe, first timers just don't have any/as many? I wouldn't worry about it, you may even be having them and not realising.

Charleesunnysunsun · 31/08/2006 17:00

Can sympathise with you Sara, I have a very fussy eater. He will 9 times out of 10 eat pasta or rice but that is it, sometimes he will have some chicken, very occasionally he will eat roast potatoes, but that is more or less his diet! The only thing he will eat with no argument is bread and butter. I find he has better days and worse days, I used to worry about it all of the time, but he is healthy and in no way skinny, he is happy in himself so I now don't worry. The one thing I do do, if he hasn't eaten very well for a few days on the trot I add half a tea spoon of sugar to some proper full fat orange cordial, just to keep his energy up, and I always make sure he has plenty of pure fruit juice/milk to drink every day. As long as he does seem fine in himself try not to worry too much.

NatalieJane · 31/08/2006 17:42

Meant to say when he started nursery, he didn't really eat a more varied diet, but he did eat more of what he would eat IYSWIM? I am hoping that when he starts school (a week on Monday) he will then start to eat a larger amount.

saralou100 · 31/08/2006 18:01

thanx nj... i'm not worried really just bloody frustrated today for unexplained reasons... have been shouting since i got up today, have this horrible feeling like i'm really gonna lose the plot in a minute and scream at someone!! it's a horrible feeling!! ds does this all the time, i actually predicted on monday he wouldn't eat all week after a weekend of good eating.. he's the same as your ds, pasta a majority of the time will go in, but bread and butter every time!! and banans lately, he's turning into a monkey!! i had him weighed last week, he was nearly 26 pounds and they were pleased with his weight gain as previous weigh ins he's been very slow to gain weight... sorry to whinge on today!!

saralou100 · 31/08/2006 18:27

just spoke to sis.... she has another black bag and would you believe theirs new born stuff in that bag too... for gods sake

MeAndMyBoy · 31/08/2006 22:31

Oh sarahlou how frustrating for you.

Charlee what a scarey time for you all - glad your little chap has bounced back today and hope that you're not waiting too long before you can get the results back. What happened to booking appointments there and then?

Debbsy - you've really been going through it with your MIL, glad that you and DH have made up though. Hope things get sorted with MIL soon as well.

Mygirl - how are you feeling did you get your iron script? or are you going to finish your liquid iron first and then use the tablets? I'm sorry that the people in boots didn't know what you were talking about.

Debz I'm on mat leave already lol - but I am now running a business at home so no rest for me. Actually I have an ad in the small business section at the moment ad

I am starting to panic with you lot talking about pushchairs, clothes, cots and stuff - although I did manage to collect our second car seat today - one for each car cause it was so much easier than having to work out who was where with the carseat and child - especially when he started nursery. Some days DH dropped him off and I would collect him. Both are loans though as we certainly couldn't have afforded to buy 2. I know I have some clothes in little sizes from DS and a brand new snow suit I bought for DS - (born in June - as if I was actually going to be able to use it!) so can use that this time.

The rest will have to wait a bit yet.

Right off to lie in the bath for a bit and try and see if LO with stop squiriming lol

night.

Hi All

not posted for two days been manic at work - but have just read all of the messages and do not know where to start my replies.

NJ - have you tried Kiddicare for the buggy?
Charlee - hope the weekend brings bettter luck for you
DEbz99 I am finishing on the 20th Oct and am due on the 4th Nov.

Started parentcraft classes yesterday - one thing the mw said was did not know why they gave a specific due date as only 5% have baby on date and only another 5% have on day either side - anything from 37 to 42 weeks is considered normal. So basically i am 30+6 and could easily give birth in the next 6 to 11 weeks.

Now i am having a panic attack!!!!!

Got mw today will try and post later eeyoreuk

Debz99 · 01/09/2006 08:17

eeyoreuk - Glad someone else is working right close to the end !!! Good luck at the Midwife. I'm beginning to wonder if my midwives are "hands off" not seeing mine until sometime after the 11th September (after I have seen consultant) and saw her last time on 16th August anyone else only seeing midwife at least once a month????

Lebe - Don't think I have had any Braxton Hicks either and think I would know about it. No leaky boobs either is this really normal LOL!

Debz99 · 01/09/2006 08:18

Oh and my parent craft classes dont start until 16th Sept hope I dont go into labour early !!!!

Can someone please remind me what sleep is!!!!! . I went all the way to mothercare to get one of the special pillows and it helped for about 2 nights but now i also need another special pillow for my hips (dont think they exist) and another for my back. Oh and do they make ones to stop your cat jumping on your head?
I was thinking actually, seeing as i havent had BH before how would i know if i had them, i do get a quite painful thing happen sometimes were part of my belly goes really hard but i thought it was the baby pushing out, does anyone think that might be it? x

NatalieJane · 01/09/2006 10:13

Morning

Lebe that sounds most likely to be a BH, if you lie on your back (only for a minute) whilst you get that feeling you will see your belly completely change shape!

I have got mega mega MEGA chocolate cravings going on, I am ashamed to admit that I had a Bounty for breakfast followed by about 6 chocolate buscuits followed by chocolate milk, and I don't even feel quilty LOL Think I might have something equally as bad for lunch at this rate as well!! LOL

NatalieJane · 01/09/2006 10:18

Ooops meant to say I have only seen my midwife twice throughout the whole pregnancy, I have an appointment next week for a diabetes test, and I really should make an appointment for the Anti-D as I will be 28 weeks tomorrow, will probably get round to it at some point today! Apart from the obvious health stuff though, there is no way I am going to start going down there every two weeks, at least not until I absolutely have to!!

LeBe · 01/09/2006 10:21

NJ - You seem alot chirper today must be the weight of the pushchair of your mind. If it makes you feel better i had chocolate for breakfast BEFORE i was pregnant! Now i have coco pops everyday (i try to convince everyone its for the calcium) followed by maltesers and jaffa cakes yum yum! I think about 90% of my food intake today is going to be chocolate cos i am soooo stressed . Bloody work!

Debz99 · 01/09/2006 10:29

Mmm Chocolate ... seems to be consuming snickers by the bucket load !!! I know, I know peanuts and all but I cant resist them !

NatalieJane · 01/09/2006 10:32

LOL Lebe, jaffa cakes are delicious!! Glad it isn't only me who can't keep out of the 'secret' chocolate cupboard!!

I am feeling a bit more together today, the plasterer is coming tomorrow so at last we can get the house sorted out. We live in a typical 1950's 3 bed semi, and to get to the kitchen you have to go through the dinning room, except there is only a gap of about 50cms for us all to squeeze through because not only have I got my huge table and chairs in there (the table alone is 6ft long!) it also has the babies cot bed, changer unit and wardrobe, and everything else that we have brought for him, swing, bouncer, playpen, gym, clothes, bedding, a couple of huge teddies (DH just 'couldn't resist' - apparently!!) plus I have a huge side board unit and an oval unit from out of the hall (which is also waiting to be plastered) so once they have finished the plastering, and it has dried I can get the hall painted while DH sorts out the nursery (skirting boards, carpet etc.) so hopefully by the end of this month we should be back to normal. I think the state of the house was getting to me more than the buggy thing, still can't believe I was so worked up over a buggy though!!

Sorry rambling now!! LOL

NatalieJane · 01/09/2006 10:34

Debz, I think as long as no one in your family is alergic to nuts, the advice is to eat them whilst pregnant so the baby has a chance to get used to them, IYSWIM?! (And if that is wrong, it is a bloody good excuse for another snickers!!! )

Debz99 · 01/09/2006 10:42

Yeah I read that too NJ so a trip to Costco for a box may well be in order !!!!!

LeBe · 01/09/2006 11:40

NJ - i cant believe you have only seen the midwife twice, ive been once a month for the last 6 months and am now going every 2 weeks! When are you due? is it your first baby (sorry if i should know this my head is a mess). Although ive been going alot ive not had as many tests as everyone else has and i have never seen a consultant does this sound right?

Debz - Glad your joining the chocolate monster club - ive just had a fudge yum yum!!

LeBe · 01/09/2006 11:41

Sorry was supposed to say i was told that about peanuts too, i cant eat them so not a big problem but my midwife said if no one has a allergy then your safe.

Charleesunnysunsun · 01/09/2006 12:00
