Impatiently, I went over with ds, but I have a fear I'll be early with this one. This is probably just because I am taking 3 weeks holiday pay before mat pay starts and I don't want to lose it by having to start mat pay early!
I think I'll have this baby in week 39 for some reason. Don't know why!

dobedobedo · 30/03/2014 22:13

Can't believe I've only got five days left at work! So glad. Also I have a bit of a fever this evening and a sore throat and sore head. Just what I need! Still. On Friday I can relax for as long as I like! Grin

chip how are you doing now?

MoominIsWaitingToMeetHerMiniMe · 30/03/2014 22:22

I had a feeling earlier that if I was to go naturally, it'll be around the 15th April.. Its a full moon and a lunar eclipse Shock

But in reality I think I'll have to be induced at 40wks so it'll be interesting to see whether it makes it out before the end of April or if it'll be a slow induction and a true Maybie Grin

These Braxton Hicks whenever I move or do anything are getting ridiculous though! Lots of pressure down below and loooots of wiggling... Slightly worried its going to be a little bugger, defy all the odds and turn breech Hmm

Hello! I survived the christening and giant family party. Ate a GIANT roast dinner (in pub) followed by loads of sticky toffee pud then had to change out of semi-decent dress into yoga pants and birkis when everyone went to PILs for cuppa after as my feet were swelling up in my tights & boots.

I've felt SO full & hot all day and my hands are a bit puffy too. Baby's movements not massively today but think mainly cos I've been so busy all day I'm not paying attention. Since coming home baby has had hiccups and done some good kicks. Don't like how my feet feel tho - hot & puffy. Could hardly remove rings tonight as so so tight. Trying to just calm down after a busy day and see how I'm doing in am, it should all go down right.

Whoever said they daren't stretch to tena.. Tena lights are my heroes. Stupid bladder/pelvic floor combo! MW said normal! Since head engaged I think my bladder capacity has halved!!

Glad everyone had nice days xx

I've succumbed to the TenaLights as well Clearly, how glam. I have needed a light pad for discharge anyway, so thought I might as well go for the Tena's for any sneezing/coughing/laughing accidents.

Minions · 31/03/2014 07:36

Good news chips, glad all ok. Hope you're getting on ok too isean and Thanks for everyone else who's needing them.

I finished work on Friday, I thought I'd be ecstatic but it felt very weird. I'll miss it and the people (but not the commuting - 2.5 hours/day driving with bump wasn't good!) Had a very lovely send off and good weekend, weirdly still feel a bit unsettled. Guess it's just big changes ahead!

I've no inkling whether baby will be early or late. I'm 35+6 today, bump is under strict instructions not to be more than 2 weeks early so I can get some chill time!

Minions · 31/03/2014 07:38

Oh, meant to say - voucher codes have 20% off at Matalan just now. They do button front nighties for £6

MoominIsWaitingToMeetHerMiniMe · 31/03/2014 08:30

Glad all is well Chip!

I'm 36 weeks today... 1 week to drop zone! Shock

Scan at 4, last time we'll see Mini Moom before he/she is born!! Eek!

Hope everyone has a nice Monday :)

bushprincess · 31/03/2014 08:31

Morning all! chips so glad all is ok

Isean any news today??

So happy for everyone being spoilt on mothers day!

not much to report, just popping in to say hi to everyone! Had a lovely weekend (lots of polo) but DH and team did pick up the wooden spoon prize... never mind, start of the season so the only way is up!!

CurlsLDN · 31/03/2014 08:33

To clearly and others suffering with swollen feet and ankles, I have the mama mio lucky legs cream, and it's lovely! It's very light and refreshing, and really does take away that achey puffy feeling for me.

It's not cheap, I got it in this gift set which I found in a 50% off sale just after Xmas

MoominIsWaitingToMeetHerMiniMe · 31/03/2014 09:08

On that note of reducing puffiness, can also recommend Boots Sanctuary Spa Mum To Be Cooling Leg and Foot Gel. Bliss!!

wm3010 · 31/03/2014 09:16

Morning all, thanks for the new thread clearly.

I had my first incident of swollen ankles yesterday, good excuse to sit with my feet up but might be a bit more of a problem at work this week...

loopylou52 · 31/03/2014 09:48

Morning everyone! Glad everything is ok chip. Hope things are still going ok for you too isean.

Minions, I know exactly what you mean about feeling unsettled. I finished work on Friday too, which was a massive relief but does feel very weird. I think that's only natural though - it's a pretty major event in the build up to becoming parents! Shock

Minions · 31/03/2014 10:29

Glad it's not just me Lou, always nice to know others feel the same! Got my list of jobs for today - interspersed with naps ;) You doing anything special with your first proper day off?

Bornin1984 · 31/03/2014 10:40

I've been off for ages!! Nice to know
Others are off now too! Mat leave officially begins in monday

loopylou52 · 31/03/2014 10:42

I'm going for a pregnancy massage this afternoon. Smile Had good intentions of going swimming this morning but had tummy ache most of the night and this morning so lazing in bed instead. Currently searching t'internet for button down nighties in dark colours for labour. The ones Matalan have look ideal but are all in pale pastel colours. Any ideas anyone?

loopylou52 · 31/03/2014 10:50

Ha, don't think I'll be searching for 'black nightie' on ebay again - not quite what I had in mind for labour! Shock Grin

Bornin1984 · 31/03/2014 10:54

Hahah I just searched on eBay at your suggetion....

Plenty of ventilation :-))

CurlsLDN · 31/03/2014 10:58

Loopy I got this set of two from mothercare. They're super soft cotton and have nursing clips on the straps

www.mothercare.com/Blooming-Marvellous-Cami-Maternity-Nightdress---2-Pack/LB1496,default,pd.html?singlehit=true

I plan to wear the navy one for labour and the other one after

CurlsLDN · 31/03/2014 11:03

Oh also I finished work too! I had last week off as well, and had a nice week doing little jobs and seeing a couple of friends for coffee. I'm trying very hard not to let boredom set in, I don't deal well with nothing to do!

Here's today's exciting schedule;
Await sainsburys delivery
Put it all away/reorganise kitchen cupboard
Organise baby clothes by size
Call tax office

Oh that reminds me! As our mat pay will kick in very near the beginning of the tax year, many of us won't earn the lower threshold over the year so won't pay any tax. Do you know, do they charge you anyway and you claim it back, or do they just not charge at all? (Hoping for the latter!)

loopylou52 · 31/03/2014 11:13

Thanks for the recommendation curls - Mothercare does seem to be the best bet at the moment, though it's a bit frustrating they always put a light one in the two-packs. Am also contemplating the nightie and dressing gown set they have, but seems a bit pricey if I'm likely to throw it away after.

Re tax, I'm not too sure. I'm assuming they'll overcharge towards the beginning of the year (on the assumption you'll be on that pay for the year) and then reimburse as the pay goes down, but I don't know for sure.

Minions · 31/03/2014 11:23

Sounds lovely lou! Thanks for link curls, good to see a navy one. I think Matalan had a navy one but I can't find it on their site either....can't imagine light colours are ever a good idea in our situation!

I'm updating my CV just in case there's no part-time work available in 12 months. I like my job and the company so hopefully won't need it but thought better to update it now than try & remember in 12 months time what I used to do.... you can tell I'm not procrastinating at all by being on Mumsnet. No siree, not even a tiny bit

wm3010 · 31/03/2014 11:34

I got some maternity nighties from M&S, one pink dotty and the others grey with white dots. They are not brilliant in terms of still being a bit of a light colour, but they were doing 20% off so came in at a tenner each so I figure it's not too bad if they do get chucked out later, and at least grey/a pattern should be more practial than plain light colours. Also picked up a dark purple cotton waffle dressing gown for 12 which I thought was good value, bought one size up from normal and it fits well over the bump and will hopefully be handy if I have to stay in the hospital as my usual fleecy numbers are too hot and also straining a bit at the waist these days!
