ohdearitshappeningtome · 16/04/2014 15:20

Awwww psnylSmileSmileSmileSmile

Mini me has had his first feed today!!!!

sambababy · 16/04/2014 15:56

Congratulations psynl!! Hope you're ok and update us when you can.

moobaloo google is the enemy!! How many weeks are you? As you said, the bump measurements aren't very accurate. They wouldn't wait a week to scan you if they were worried but I know that doesn't mean you won't worry yourself. Sounds like a few of us are in the same boat

minions I am loving that thread Easter Grin

pickletalk14 · 16/04/2014 16:15

Congrats new maybies!

Minions- love the thread. No real news here, midwife tomorrow, growth scan on Monday and 5 days off work over the long weekend. Can't wait, have felt very pregnant this week!

kally195 · 16/04/2014 16:57

Massive congratulations psnyl!

I am very happy - saw the midwife and my iron has gone back up, so I am signed off for the MLU. Despite having been poorly for the last couple of days, blood pressure and wee etc all fine. Measuring bang on dates (35 weeks) and baby is still head down and further engaged. So, so relieved.

Now stood in the sunshine watching DH give the hedge a major haircut. Ooh - just went to stock up on some vests/sleepsuits etc from sainsburys and it is 25% off clothing till Monday. Free pack of nappies when you spend over £50 on anything as well.

ClearlyMoo · 16/04/2014 17:09

Lovely news pysnl!! Congrats. Hope you're recovering ok!

Had an epic wander at outlet village with my Mum. Beyond shattered now. One and a half hours of rest and watching Suits until I go to Aqua Yoga! It's my birthday tomorrow so I had lots of lovely things bought for me/given to me by my Mum who I'd not seen for 3.5 months (we think the longest we've ever been separated)! Plans to see her again next week! Yay!

Looking forward to Posh Cream Tea out with DH tomorrow to celebrate.

Still having on shooting contraction but not regular at all at the mo so I'm continuing to assume errant BH!

Congratulations psynl, fab news!!! Bleed sounds scary, hope you're recovering ok now.

moobaloo - sorry you have to go for a growth scan. Don't panic though, there are a few of us in the same boat. I was measuring spot on and then suddenly didn't grow for 3 weeks (based on bump measurement). Although the scan did confirm the baby is very small, the doctors weren't particularly concerned at all - basically just said some babies are small. They checked the blood flow through the cord and the amniotic fluid level and both were fine. My repeat scan is tomorrow.

samba - your next scan is today isn't it? I guess with the time difference you may not have had it yet so good luck! Let us know how you get on.

Yey!!! New maybies!!

I feel slightly fraud now I not maybie !Shock

moas · 16/04/2014 21:45

Congratulations on all the new babies!! Won't name check as I fear I'll forget someone... amazing that they are coming out now!

Not so much to report here, painful BH today, went quite spacey during the tightenings and they were regular. But no sign of them for a few hours so definitely not proper contractions.
Potty training going well :)

Samba, Loopy and Moobaloo, all the best with your growth scans! You know I feel a bit extra for the mummies with small ones. Sure all will be fine!!

And... new thread soon?? Can't believe it!

PixieBumbles · 16/04/2014 22:02

Hello everyone! Sorry for not updating here earlier its been a weird few days! My lovely tranquil home waterbirth ended up being induced labour with a syntocinon drip and an epidural all ending in a lovely third degree tear and a 24 hour stay in hospital after delivery, which I suspect may have been longer had a very kindly and sympathetic midwife not stuck her head around my curtain at the moment I had a complete breakdown at the thought of spending a minute longer there than I had to.

44 hours from waters breaking to delivery. The pessary went in 24 hours after waters went and actual active labour was about 7 hours.

My little boy is amazing, even if he does grizzle a lot, and even if I do have to hand express and syringe feed because he hasn't quite worked out that successful breast feeding needs input from him as well as me! We're getting there...

JessicaRRRabbit · 16/04/2014 22:05

Congratulations psynl - wishing you a speedy recovery. Thanks

Lamu - just wow! and Thanks Congratulations - hope you're adjusting okay. Baby Lamu is beautiful.

Lovely news about the first feed ohdear Noah's coming on in leaps and bounds now! Easter Smile

Welcome to the new Maybies too xx

ClearlyMoo · 16/04/2014 22:06

Oh Pixie, what a crazy couple of days for you! Congrats on the birth of your boy and well done for expressing! Hey, sometimes things turn out differently than we wished for, I hope that you will be able to heal and recover well even though your birth sounds traumatic!

Brilliant that your boy arrived safely and that he is doing well.

JessicaRRRabbit · 16/04/2014 22:12

X-post Pixie - congratulations!

What a whirlwind and such a big change from what you planned - hope you're getting lots of tlc now you're back at home (good on the midwife for helping you out there!)

Have you named your DS yet?
Thanks and Brew xx

LongTailedTit · 16/04/2014 22:25

Crikey Pixie! Congratulations, glad you got home already.

Honestly, you go away for a couple of days and everything kicks off! Grin
So many babies already!

I'm a bit confused today, had a few hours of cx every 10 mins this evening, then went 25 mins, now every 15-10 again, and now I'm not sure what the heck is happening.
Braxton Hicks have been all day every day for over a week, so I assumed they didn't mean anything, but this lot this evening have come with deep period-type cramps every time and getting quite painful. Confused If they turn out to be more BH then fine, but jeez I don't want another 2-3 weeks of these! Ouchy.
I just want to know, is it labour or isn't it!!

37+4

snoozysleeper · 16/04/2014 22:36

Congratulations all new baby definitilies Flowers psynl Lamu pixie Grin

longtailed I'm not sure, but if they're regular and painful I think you Should call thé midwife...

LongTailedTit · 16/04/2014 22:59

Aargh they've stopped again! Had three in a row 10-12 mins apart, now it's been nearly 30 mins since the last one. So damn confusing!

I spoke to my midwife earlier today (needed another copy of my MAT B1 for the accountant) and she said to wait until they were properly regular and painful before I call.
I'd like to make it past this weekend, just want to get rid of this head cold, really don't want to be blowing my nose every two minutes over a newborn babe.

I'm off to bed, at least if I get woken up with proper contractions I'll have had some rest!
G'night all :)

Squiffie · 17/04/2014 00:04

Ooh congratulations pixie Grin

dobedobedo · 17/04/2014 05:38

Congratulations pixie! Sounds like you had a rough time of it, hope it's easier now you're home. Also hope baby plays ball soon with feeding!

LTT How are things now? Last night I had a good two hours of irregular but painful BH. They were between ten and two minutes apart. In the end I just fell asleep as they faded away.

I'm pretty sure that when I am actually in labour, I won't realise it as I'm so used to these episodes of false labour! Grin also, I bet I end up going overdue, even with all these sore BH. Typical!

Chip86 · 17/04/2014 07:28
