Just to check in on the new thread (thanks for starting Ness)- I'm 6+1 with DC1 and am 30 and live in Hertfordshire.

We're staying with DHs family in Cornwall at the moment, so driving back home on Sunday and back to work on Monday. On the plus side, got a private early scan next Saturday, and if ell is well, planning to tell family afterwards.

Hello again! I'm maeanne, 32, dc2, and I'm a very early 4+2.

I'm confused by all the early scans - is that a standard thing now or have you all requested them/been referred? It's 6 years since my last pregnancy so I'm guessing things may be a little different!

To those discussing food cravings/aversions. I made a dish last night that me and the kids usually love but I was heaving whilst cooking it and realised that there was no way I was going to be able to eat it.

The smell lingered in the house all night, and even into this morning (although know my smell sense is super sensitive) so consequently felt terrible through the night (kept waking to the smell - ugh!).

Yes, fruit is definitely top of my list.
And - I'm afraid - crisps.

Meat repulses me right now.

It's hard though isn't it - because I'm sure eating makes the nausea go away, but it's so hard to find anything you actually feel like putting in your mouth.

nessalina - or was it alita - whoever mentioned the bicarbonate of soda test - can you tell me what that is/how to do?

This is my 5th pregnancy - have two DCs and had two MCs last year.
so hope this will be DC #3.

6+6 today. due date either 6th or 8th november according to calculators.

Mabel may pee in a pot then add about a table spoon of bicarbonate of soda and if it fizzes it's a boy if it doesn't It's a girl. Supposedly anyway :p

Have found the bicarbonate out now can someone tell me what do do??

Also what's the Chinese calendar??

I might be having the harmony test at 10 weeks and can also find out the gender then, but can have fun guessing in the meantime!

Ha! I'm genuinely LOLing at you guys rooting in the back of your kitchen cupboards for bicarbonate to pee on!! Obviously I'll be trying it once I'm home!

Avery - you aren't going mad, I was on for 8th then I moved back to the 10th! LMP date is 10th, but I know I OV'd on CD12, so I think 8th is more likely. But I figured, sod it, I'll stick with 10th then move it at dating scan if it needs moving!

Sleeping...pee in a cup, then add 2 tablespoons of bicarbonate soda. If it fizzes it says boy, if it's flat it's girl

I have been noticing definate changes in appetite. Basically I need sour things. Constantly craving Maynards Sours or Haribo Tangfastics.

Also anything I can put ketchup, salad cream, Branston pickle or vinegar on. Just bought a bottle of burger sauce of all things!

Guzzling sour drinks like apple juice/lemonade.

ZERO interest in anything sweet or chocolatey.

Just found out am 4w+1 with 2nd. I keep reading you're supposed to be more relaxed than with your first, but am freaking out. Keep testing to make sure the line hasn't disappeared. For some reason, have convinced myself that something's going to go wrong, even though BFP showed up on Monday (3w+4), and has been getting stronger ever since.

Hello everyone! I am 6 wks + 1 due 14 Nov. 1st pregnancy! Not had any morning sickness but just cramps on and off. Until earlier this week I got the dreaded norovirus and was sick sick sick! Last two mornings have woken up really early feeling nauseous again so now have no idea if it's hangover from noro or morning sickness. Kind of hoping for morning sickness to assure me things are still happening. It all still seems unreal.

Hi everyone just checking in on this new thread! Symptoms so far are sore boobs, bloated allll the time and very tired. The mild cramping I have been experiencing since week 3 is subsiding and no real nausea yet. Every morning I feel like I've got a hangover though! Oh and constipation BIGTIME. Still doing the occasional every other day cheapie hpt as I'm so paranoid

Had my first midwife appointment yesterday which was just the booking in session... Very exciting and was told I will receive a scan date through the post soon. Can't wait

Maeanne early scans are not the norm but if someone is unsure of their dates for any reason they may be scanned to check the dates. Or it may be they have a history of miscarriages or that they are having some bleeding. Otherwise it's not until 12 weeks in my area.

Yes Maeanne, my early scan was because of bleeding. FWIW, I had bleeding in both my earlier pregnancies and they are both fine, so it doesn't necessarily mean anything is wrong. I was just unlucky this time. Hope to be on the January thread now!

Ok, so I'm confused (and this is my second DC). LMP was 15th Feb, cycle approx 29 days and on calculators am getting conception date of 2nd March, and EDD of 23rd Nov. Does that mean I'm only 2+6, or do I count from LMP, therefore 5+0? Have no particular symptoms, so don't feel 5w if that makes sense?

Can't post the link but if you google 'Chinese gender prediction' it's the first one that comes up in the search results, on baby centre, I think. When I've looked at it retrospectively for people I know who've had babies, it's worked, but could be luck. DH was taking the piss when he saw me looking at it, saying well they would be right 50% of the time!
