I'm the same wheresmrmonkey. DS has had eggs and soldiers for dinner twice this week cos I just couldn't face cooking. He thinks it great as it's his favourite. I've been living off toast and raspberry ice poles.

chirpchirp · 05/04/2014 15:34

Sorry to hear that alita can you at least take it easy for the rest of the day?

BJZebra · 05/04/2014 15:39

We went to a&e earlier and got to go to the gyno ward. Had a internal scan and the doctor said there's def baby in right place but much smaller than 8 weeks and too small to see HB. I'm going back on Monday for another scan at EPU. Still bleeding and it could go either way.
DH hasn't been to work this weekend yet to look after me and help out with DD. He's being very caring and he's sad too.
I'll report back on Monday, fx the little darling holds on tight

alita7 · 05/04/2014 15:44

sort of... we're now staying at his parents tonight. I'm unhappy as they have the smelliest dog on the planet (and I'm allergic). We also have to stay here every other Saturday night due to a situation with the kids :( so on the one hand I don't have to run around after the kids but on the other hand we don't have a bed and have to sleep on top of a duvet on the floor and DP comes in and grabs the TV and either puts on marvel agents of shield or suits, which he records on there TV as we don't have one. I hate both of these programmes.
so I'm grumpy as I hate staying at other people's houses and it looks like I'll have to do this for the forseable future.

alita7 · 05/04/2014 15:44

I hope it's all ok for you zebra xx

chirpchirp · 05/04/2014 16:18

Hope everything is ok for you zebra. I hope Monday comes quickly

That doesn't sound like the greatest set up alita. I do think you should tell your DH to surrender the remote (cos agents of shield is pish).

EmiliaS · 05/04/2014 16:43

Zebra, take it easy over the weekend and good luck for Mon

EmiliaS · 05/04/2014 16:52

Went to join DH watching the Grand National on tv and started crying feeling sorry for the poor horses. Driving past a field yesterday DH told me that the lambs have gone - started crying. Feeling so sensitive and maternal right now

Tigsy · 05/04/2014 18:08

BJZebra keeping my fingers crossed for better news for you on Monday.

Alita I really feel for you. I feel quite anxious about going to other places at the moment, particularly if they involve food for the same reason. Can't be much fun having to stay elsewhere (in what doesn't sound like an idea set-up) whilst you're feeling rough too.

alita7 · 05/04/2014 18:39

thanks for your support guys. I do feel like I'm constantly moaning, but I guess we're at a stage where there's so much to moan about!

I'm almost certain today has inadvertently told his parents I'm pregnant... my panicked look, the fact that I couldn't eat meat, my feeble attempt at blaming the 'illness' from a few days ago, how little food I ate, how long I was in the loo... His dad seems to be aware... he's gone out of way to ask if I want anything and when deciding what we'd Like to eat tonight he was like ALITA what would YOU like to eat, what do you fancy? oh well no one's asked questions.

Sazhoopz · 05/04/2014 19:11

Damn these emotions, DS has a chest infection and is ill for the first time in his life and watching the Voice and the first song is Fix you and I burst into tears!

It's times like these I miss wine!

HRMumness · 05/04/2014 19:58

So sad to read we have list a few more ladies over the last couple of days Sad. I've been collapsing on the sofa every night this week once DD is in bed. DH seems to think I'm way more exhausted than last time but part of that must be due to looking after a toddler all day.

happypotamus · 05/04/2014 20:10

Zebra Good luck for Monday. Hope it goes ok.

HRMumness I am definitely much much more tired than last time I was pregnant, but last time I worked 8hr shifts instead of 13hrs, didn't have to get up so early or home so late from work as DH would drive me there for the early evenings and pick me up from late shifts, didn't have to wake up at 4.30am when DD does, and basically didn't do anything when I wasn't at work. Now I have to entertain a 2yr old all day on my days off. I have fond memories of being pregnant and being able to get up at 10am and lie on the settee after work.

pinkgirlythoughts · 05/04/2014 20:15

I have cried most of the way through Ant and Dec tonight... damn these hormones!

Think DS may have let the cat out of the bag this morning (despite not actually knowing about the pregnancy yet!) My 14-weeks-pregnant-sister asked if I was planning on having another baby before June 2016, as she'd bought an extra packet of folic acid that hadn't been opened and still had plenty of shelf-life on it. As soon as she held up the packet, DS shouted out "mummy has those! You have those mummy!" DSis kind of went "oh, does she...?" and I went "yes, I do have some vitamin tablets, don't I?" Blush
The whole family went round to watch the Grand National at my grandparents' house this afternoon, and of course I wasn't drinking- excuse being I was driving, but since we always say that I get to drink at events with my family, and DH with his, I think suspicions have been raised!

Annarose2014 · 05/04/2014 21:17

Guys I have a stupid question. My antenatal appt is next week. It'll be at the hospital, bloods, urine, medical history etc.

But are they gonna check if the baby is still alive or not?

Seems insane to actually be in a Maternity Dept & leave at the end of the morning not even knowing!

Scans are at 20 weeks here, so can't bear the uncertainty for another 10 weeks after!

Amyrose82 · 05/04/2014 21:37

Anna is this your booking in appt with the midwife? Mine was at the docs not hospital but it was exactly as you said - bloods, urine check and medical history. No checking on baby (although couldn't do that at docs anyway) they didn't even do a pregnancy test to confirm! They just take your word for it!

We get a scan at around 12 weeks but even that seems so long to wait to actually confirm there's a real life baby in there - I'm tempted to have a private scan and if I had to wait til 20 weeks then I definitely would!

alita7 · 05/04/2014 21:54

Anna I have no idea as if they don't do a scan they might listen for a heart beat. I'm really surprised they don't do a scan as the nuchal screening is important and it's not uncommon to not know about mmcs until the scan. so I would book a private one if I were you.

Annarose2014 · 05/04/2014 22:38

Am going to basically ask for at least a doppler, whilst I'm there. If not then I'll definitely do a private scan, fuck it.

WheresMrMonkey · 05/04/2014 23:25

Poor Alita.... So sorry it went so badly today, but thank goodness it's done! Hope you can try and swerve any others over the next few weeks, wish we could all come up with some fail safe excuse to explain things to people!! But it's knowing looks every time you try and suggest one!

barmybunting · 06/04/2014 06:58

Hi ladies, I've started a new thread for us as we are getting rather close to this one being full.

Could someone link to it on here please though? I can't add a link because I'm on my phone. It's called November 2014 Thread 3- counting towards the second trimester.

Not a very exciting title, sorry, but I think many of us are eagerly waiting for the second trimester just now so it seemed apt!
