I got a set of the Maggie Howell natal hypnotherapy CDs off eBay. Listened to pregnancy relaxation one a couple of times, but have been in bed dozing off so haven't really heard it all the way through. It's supposed to help stimulate craving for healthy food - as last night's dinner was chips and baked Camembert followed by half a bar of chocolate I'm not sure I can point to any benefits yet!

yep, I have to find out, but I'm afraid I won't share, because I can't tell the kids, just in case they got it wrong.
And if I can't tell them I don't want anyone else to know.

Hello all-so sorry have been offline for a while-have been reading but not managed to post!

Huge congrats to all those with good scans! Glad all is well!

I am also getting back ache by the end of the day-DS slowly getting the idea that Mummy is not going to carry him up and down the stairs all the time!

Congrats on the scans! Strange to think we are halfway through. Part of me thinks I have been pregnant for ages but another part of me can't believe that I am halfway. Funny....

Plate - which IM did your DH do? I am really concerned about the amount of training but he is adamant that it will not become a problem. Hmmmm. We will see. And yes will be ridiculously proud of him for doing it but I can't see why anyone would actually want to put themselves through it!

Incapinka - it was IM Nice (so I at least got a holiday on the French Riviera out of it) - which is also renowned for being a tough course.

I'm trying to drill into DH now that, post-baby, some compromises may need to be made to his fitness obsession. He has a place in Ride London 2.5 weeks after my due date - I have pointed out to him that whilst on the one hand I could be out with DC watching him cross the finish line, on the other hand I might be in hospital a couple of days after a traumatic birth, so not to count his chickens. Don't think it has sunk in yet.

Can I join the boy club please? 20-week scan all good which is a massive relief after previous 2 MCs

Talulah - I am now 20+2 and have no bump. My trousers are just a bit tight and I look less slim than previously. The sonographer thought the baby was actually bigger than expected, but DH is tall. I guess he is just being held down at the moment. Which may explain why I need to pee every hour!

I definitely have a bump :) and lots of kicks and stretching pains/stitch like pains...oh and no energy at all!

V excited though as my new dress arrived today-it's a Mamas + Papas nursing dress which I got v discounted on eBay but will urgently need for a wedding in early August when baby will be just 2-4 weeks old! We also have another wedding in October so it should get some use! Now I just need to limit weight gain so that it definitely fits in August which could be interesting since I seem to be craving chocolate at the moment

Ps anyone else still breastfeeding an older DC? DS nearly 21Mo and only has his bedtime feed now but my nipples are SO sore! He's still showing no signs of dropping this feed though he did randomly drop his morning feed a month ago in favour of reading books to his teddies so there's still hope before July!

Just came home to a letter from antenatal clinic informing me they're changing my appointment (carefully scheduled to be on the same day as my 20 week scan so I only needed to stay at home from work one day) to the following week (when I'm on holiday). No explanation.

Glad lots more scans are going well, sorry you couldn't find out zing

plate I'm sure I'm going to have to have conversations with dh about how he may not be able to go to the gym every day after work post baby! At least hes not attempting an iron man thats very hard core!

I've definitely got a bump at 21weeks although inz some clothing its worse than others!

Zing - are you just saying that so we don't call you mean for knowing and not telling?! Or was baby not playing along and keeping legs together?

Plate - IM Nice was the original plan or Lanzarote. Don't know why he changed as May/June would have been so much better work wise let alone then finding out that we have baby due in July!! What is it with these exercise obsessed men! And feel your pain with post birth comps. DH may enter a half IM on my due date!!! Got to laugh!

Hi everyone just a quick update haven't had chance to catch up on thread but will have a read through now . Had my 20 week scan today and all was well and we found out we are having a boy ! Was surprised as convinced it was a girl . Hope all is well with everyone !

HI ladies
So lovely to read everyone's updates.
Had my 20 wk scan on Tuesday and everything fine and normal but the little monkey had it's back to us the whole time so sonographer couldn't check face and heart. We did everything to try turn it but it wasn't budging.
Anyway, going back next Wednesday for another scan.
Feeling loads of kicks and movement which is lovely!
Definitely getting a belly too!!!!!

If I knew for sure I wouldn't tell anyway

It's just there's a likelyhood of one but the sonographer wasn't sure enough so I'm not convinced.
Therefore I think it could still be either way.

Am currently skiving off work as so so tired and to cheer myself up have bought the skip hop treetop play mat. And the cot mobile, wall stickers and stroller toy . I promised myself not to buy much new stuff as second hand is fine. But they were all reduced though .

DH will not be happy when I tell him. Am currently hiding everything at the MILs .

Well, bugger. Have been to see a geneticist to confirm EDS and in her professional experience, she would recommend I have a VB. She was very nice, listened to everything I had to say and my concerns, but didn't budge.

Don't know what to think now.

oh ismarah how frustrating! Surely the ultimate decision lies with the obstetrician?!

I've been having a terrible backache it is just below the bra strap, which is a bit weird.
Have to go to a Hen party tomorrow on a party bus!!! Dreading it...leaving at 5:15 p.m. and returning at 4 a.m. on Sunday morning!!! arrgghh...
