Didn't see one started, as our last thread looks full. Let's hope we are all kicking the early pregnancy sickness and starting to glow :)

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
ZingSweetApple · 18/01/2014 23:56

They called us back just before 7pm with the answer - they accepted our offer! Shock Smile Smile Smile Smile Smile

yay! so excited!

Now they need to find a place to move to so the waiting game starts, but I don't care.
I can't believe we are moving!

(not caught up, hope you're all okay! )

ismarah · 19/01/2014 00:00

We booked our flights to the States last year before I got pregnant. My due date is the date of our return :-( We ain't going. Now trying to get a refund but finding it not fun.

The airline will take you until x weeks (depends on airline) with a doctors note and depending on the journey (Europe is easier than cross-Atlantic) but the US immigration services may not let you in if they think you want to have the baby there for citizenship purposes. I'd look very carefully at T&Cs before deciding what to do.

MrsA2 · 19/01/2014 07:17

Great news Zing, well done.

BlueC2 · 19/01/2014 07:55

Fab news zing :) do you need to find a buyer for your place too? Hope all goes smoothly!

My first good night's sleep in a while _yay!

icklekid · 19/01/2014 08:32

zing congratulations that's brilliant news!

mismarah by contrast my friend had her baby week and half ago and they've spent the week at Sheffield baby unit (2h drive away) luckily all is fine now but really made me realise that pregnancy is only the beginning!

osinachi would love to go may try and go to nec one

We bought nursery furniture in the January sale whwn only 13weeks as bargain and helps to spread the cost. Currently redecorating nursery-stripping wood chip wallpaper then going to build it as doubt my energy levels will increase as my bump gets bigger!

coco808 · 19/01/2014 09:00

great news zing...congratulations!!

mummytobejuly2014 · 19/01/2014 09:16

fab news zing
are the baby shows any good? waiting for the one to come to northern ireland!

liquidstate · 19/01/2014 10:14

ismarah the book is 'Tell your dog You're Pregnant: an essential guide for dog owners who are expecting a baby' by Dr Lewis Kirkham. It has downloads of baby sounds you can play to the dog to get it used to the random crying/gurgling noises. There are a few books out there and this is the most expensive but its quite good - a friend recommended it to me.

Fab news about the house zing

MrsA2 · 19/01/2014 14:57

What a lovely sunny day. Been for an hour plus walk, did one and a half hours yesterday (that was dead hilly too) so now persuading husband that's enough and we should laze on the sofa rather than go for a swim tonight!

Got a house viewing in half an hour, pretty sure it isn't right but we are keeping our options open.

talulahbelle · 19/01/2014 16:56

We've been out for a carver lunch and I've made cupcakes this afternoon. And I've cleared out a little more of our junk room / future nursery.
Just wish it wasn't Monday tomorrow, I need 3 day weekends.

BlueC2 · 19/01/2014 18:40

From all the activity it sounds as though some are starting to get their 2nd tri energy-alas not me yet :( and I was sick again this morning :( :(

anyone else got the appetite of a hippo (or other v large animal)? I just seem to be ravenous the whole time!! Eg ate dinner an hour ago and my stomach been rumbling as if I've not eaten for days and now just eaten a further full helping Blush so much for freezing the leftovers for one night next week! been feeling v pleased with my small weight gain so far but suspect this may change now that I've turned into a food monster Grin

MrsB2013 · 19/01/2014 18:52

Thanks for starting a new thread talulahbelle

Had a really busy weekend with friends staying over! Had another look at prams yesterday, I love how easy the Bugaboo is to work and fold, but it is so expensive!!! Not sure if it would be better to buy a cheaper travel system to start then a normal pushchair when baby gets bigger??

Zing great news on the house, hope it all goes smoothly!!

osinachi we're thinking of going to the baby show, but haven't booked tickets yet. It will be worth going if there are discounts on things

Does anyone else still not feel pregnant and like its all a dream?

coco808 · 19/01/2014 19:13

I don't feel pregnant MrsB Sad desperate for the baby to move and reassure me. I'm going to try and take a warm bath tonight in the hope of feeling something

osinachi · 19/01/2014 19:46

Thanks "ismara" I just called ebookers and been told I would get a free cancellation with a doctor's note. Just realized I'd be almost 31 weeks by the time of the trip. We were to go last year, but had to cancel and we're really looking forward to it this year :( I thought of bringing it forward to April (annual leave....) but it'd cost a bit. Aaarg'!! quite annoying. And I was really hoping to do some baby shopping.....
I've been quite hungry and drowsy. Not had ms but just general feeling of not being very well especially the taste in my mouth. Ok that's enough moaning..... Dh is being sweet and just brought me a meal in bed :)

elliejjtiny · 19/01/2014 20:06

Thanks talulahbelle for the new thread.

Congratulations Zing on the house

osinachi I'm going to the baby show with SIL for a girly bonding day. I don't need much with this being baby 5 but SIL is pg with her first.

Dating scan tomorrow, I'm so nervous.

15+0

AuntieMaggie · 19/01/2014 20:10

mrsb and coco I don't feel pregnant either just bloated... I even asked DP if I'd imagined it! I haven't had many symptoms either and no sickness!

Weirdly though I feel better than I have in a long time because my hormones are 'normal' - before being pregnant I ate healthily and would still put on weight but now I'm not eating as well and yet my weight has been stable since about 8 weeks! My stoopid fecked up body Grin

ZingSweetApple · 19/01/2014 20:27

blue

we had a buyer since October - they are very keen, first time buyers and our house is the first one they liked in 2 years!
but just to complicate thing their baby due is due mid May! Grin

it will all work out, I'm sure.

Thanks for good wishes and support - we'll need all the fx available! Wink

hope you are all ok!
(my phone keeps running out of battery so it's a bit tricky to read back)

MrsB2013 · 19/01/2014 21:02

Coco I'm not expecting to feel anything till about 20 weeks, but I just feel "normal" (p.s I've sent you a pm) Auntie I was very lucky and had no sickness, and only symptoms are tiredness and hunger! My belly is getting bigger and harder so I know somethings going on in there lol We're thinking of booking a gender scan next weekend, to check everything is ok, and I cant wait to find out if its pink or blue!!

I've got my 16w mw appointment in the morning, what can I expect? Will it be a quick one just to check blood pressure etc?

mummytobejuly2014 · 19/01/2014 21:20

im 15wks today with my first, belly "popped" a few days ago, good thing most people know now apart from DP friends. not sure why he won't tell them & wasnt telling his work til a relative of his told a work colleague of DP. feel a bit like he doesnt want people to know about me altho we're together almost 7yrs and living together a few

ZingSweetApple · 19/01/2014 21:37

MrsB

MW will attempt to listen to baby's heartbeat (with a gadget so you can hear it too) - if not successful do not worry, you can hear it if baby is in a back to back position.

heart beat will be very fast, about 140 -160 beats/min which is normal.

you should either take a fresh urine sample or pee in a sample bottle when you get there.
(I can't stand loo stink, so I always do it at home, just pick up a couple for future appointments as you leave, ask at reception desk)

ZingSweetApple · 19/01/2014 21:39

I meant you can't hear it if back to back

oo00PIXIE00oo · 19/01/2014 21:45

Hi ladies just back from a great weekend with my sisters my BIL has skin cancer so need to be there for them they are only in their early 30s and I love them so much BLOODY CANCER!!!!

In bed now as the drive is draining even as a passenger.

Congrats zing

I too have been really lucky and no ms just really tired :) I think I will only believe everything is ok when I can feel the little peanut moving :) have my 16w appointment on 4 February and we have a late one booked so 2 of our DDs can come and hear the HB we are trying to make sure they feel part of the whole experience too :)

We also had a quick trip to mothercare to get me some tights - on the way out I said 'oh look at this ......' And was pushed out the shop by dd as it was a pretty pink dress and cardi and they are all ganging up on me for a boy :)

Am off to bed now as a couple of long days and late nights at work coming up - they are great though as have suggested I work from home on Wednesday to get my energy back

Have a great week ladies xx

justhayley · 20/01/2014 04:47

Hiya, yep it's 4.50AM & I'm on MN, anyone else got pregnancy insomnia yet? Had it with DS & totally forgot about it as one of the most irritating pregnancy symptoms. Been laying here for over an hour wide awake I'm now bored & am awake anyway so thought I'd say hello Smile.

I did write a long old catch up post the other day but my phone wouldn't let me post it & it vanished, I honestly couldn't be bothered to do it again.

How is everyone?

Congrats on the house Zing that's exciting.

I am yet to glow - well apart from the mass of teenage spots appearing on my forehead!!! Anyone else?

Still having horrible nausea - its a little better this week but really struggling & it's getting me down now. Blush

Hips are sore when I Lay on my side too long & I had my first taste of heartburn a few nights agoConfused

All in all generally feeling rubbish!

My due date was changed at scan to 24th if someone fancies updating my on the list.

Well that's me for now, going to try again to sleep otherwise will not be able to function when DS wakes up.

Night all - or good morning which ever lol

NancyinCali · 20/01/2014 05:15

Hi hayley! Hope you're asleep by now. I've had insomnia most of the pregnancy so far. So irritating. I'm now heading to bed (9.15pm) to try and catch up on sleep. Hope the MS is easing for you now. And I can sympathise on the acne! Definitely no glowing happening here yet.

IHatePopUpTents · 20/01/2014 07:57

Hello all, congrats zing on the house!
Me and do had the weekend away in London, was lovely to have some dd free time, but I wish I had got one of those baby on board badges, I was exhausted sat evening from the underground :(

I didn't 'bloom' with my dd, I just was tacky and a bit red from hyperemesis so what do I have to look forward to?!

I've had some spotting, and am a bit worried, but im not sure what to do about it. Will the docs/mw automatically send me for a scan? What do I do with my dd?!
