July 2014 - Thread 4! Moving into the 2nd trimester and starting to glow.

Didn't see one started, as our last thread looks full. Let's hope we are all kicking the early pregnancy sickness and starting to glow :)

Great news about all the scans, had ours today, all good, though I have a low lying placenta, so may need a c-section. I'm not worrying too much about it at the moment, apparently it quite often resolves itself. We're also not finding out, I'm kinda looking forward to the surprise!

have you been booked for a 32 week scan to check position of placenta?

I had that with DS1 - by 32 weeks it was all fine.

Hey Zing, they're sending me an appointment for another scan at 34 weeks - they didn't seem particularly concerned, so I'm not going to worry about it either - if it doesn't resolve itself and I have to have a section, so be it, as long as bean's ok, that's all I care about!

liquid I'm refusing to watch too! And I'm also very angry at your consultant on your behalf!

I have now moved onto not really sleeping and having lots of really vivid dreams - I want my sleep back! I went for a swim last night thinking it would help but it didn't.

Had 20 week scan today which confirmed everything is fine and also confirmed baby bond gender scan and we are having a girl! Super excited as we already have 9 year old DS x :)

everything fine for our scan. we're measuring for 5th of July but were told they don't/won't change the due date of the 11th. have a low placenta but not blocking baby's exit, booked in for scan at 34wks (will be 35wks) to check its lifted. radiographer didnt seem to worried abt it. my intuition was right and we're expecting a boy! had secretly hoped for ba girl but glad its healthy, OH secretly delighted its a boy lol

sorry to hear about bad nights, they can really mess with your energy, your mood and your concentration.

I tried to sleep on our bed the other night, it was "too flat" and I kept on waking up and feeling sick
so I'm back on the sofa, sleeping in a sort of half sitting position, propped up by big cushions.
DH doesn't like it that I'm not there with him - but I've got to the point when I don't care.
I have so little sleep, at least it's comfortable now. Anyway, he is not alone, sick and waking kids keep him company!

sooo looking forward to scan tomorrow - it's a weird feeling to know it's my very last of the kind.

Am another who had a scan today and luckily all good. Each time I have been scanned (this is my 2nd child so 4th scan) I always have to go for a walk and do a series of star jumps and wriggles. Luckily only had to do one 10 minute walk today and the sun was shining so that was a bonus. All good. Had been certain we would find out until driving there I changed my mind - poor DH thought we were going to find out! - but golly it was tempting when she asked if we wanted to know. I am certain it is a boy and if he is anything like DS1 he will be scrumptious but I would love to be greedy and have a girl...

Has anyone else not really got a bump yet? I'm 18+4, and aside from a rounded stomach and bigger boobs I don't look pregnant at all. Compared to online bump pictures I just don't seem big enough and I'm worried the baby isn't growing or something :(

Congratulations on all the scans, mine isn't for another 2 weeks, time is really dragging.

Thanks everyone for the indignant rage. I had a physio session today in a group and the Physiotherapist rolled her eyes when I told her what the consultant said!

I slept most of the day . So tired at the moment.

Argh... I'm still (3 weeks later...) without internet so reading this on my phone so forgive me if I miss anything/am short.

zing thank you - I'm not sure our sofa is confy enough for me to sleep on though I'm in a hotel atm for work and its too comfy!

Zing I know I am mean! Mwah ha ha! Poor DH. He just can't keep up at the moment with my decision making and random irrationality!

Glad to hear physio was sympathetic and hope they are able to provide lots of help.

Tallulah - i am now 21 weeks and look like I have eaten too much but no bump. Very pleased to still be fitting in my jeans at the moment! And had scan today and all was fine so don't panic

DH and I only made up our minds to find out the sex when we met at the tube station before the scan ... and we are having... a boy :)

Everything is healthy, we even got a quick peek at his face (we think he may have my nose?!). He's measuring a bit on the bigger side of average but then again I think my due date is probably out by a few days so that would make sense.

The only problem now is that we had way more ideas for girl names than boy names...

I'm in pain with my ribs, only on the right side and its the front right at the bottom, and the back seems to be just in one spot. Not sure if I should go to the doctors and see if there's anything they can do, or if I need physio or something??

So many scans! Congratulations everyone! And lots and lots of boys. My gut feeling has been a girl for us, but I don't want to buck the trend (I don't think we're going to find out anyway, but could be a last minute change of heart).

Incapinka - Ironman Wales is a particularly tough course I hear! I really did get quite cheesed-off with the training at points last year. When weekends need to include 5-6 hours cycling, 3-4 hours running and a couple of hours swimming it doesn't leave much time for anything else. Plus the constant obsessing about injuries, kit etc. A friend also did it and was training at same time as planning their wedding/getting married. I'm a little bit surprised the wedding went ahead...

I was very very proud of DH though -it is an amazing achievement. I'm just not even letting him think about doing it again for the foreseeable future!

mrsb ive the same rib pain on right, likr they're curling in on themselves. baby was on the left side during scan so no idra whats causing the pain :s
