Didn't see one started, as our last thread looks full. Let's hope we are all kicking the early pregnancy sickness and starting to glow :)

Grin zing!

Incapinka · 25/02/2014 14:08

Oh Zing!
I feel the same at times. Men really are from a different planet aren't they?!

I am so knackered at the moment and already worrying about looking after a toddler and a newborn as DH super busy with work and ironman training (it's in September) that I know he won't be about much. He asked last night what was wrong, I voice my concerns, he says it will all be fine. That's all very well for him to say!!

mixi82 · 25/02/2014 14:47

I couldnt wait for OBEM last night but a 3mins to 9pm I fell asleep!! Woke up and thought I'd catch it on +1, had 10 mins til it was on and i fell asleep AGAIN!!!

will catch up after work i think.

by the way, is it normal to feel so exhausted at the 20wk point? i've been flaking all day!!

fifi669 · 25/02/2014 15:37

I spent last week at work as 100% useless. So tired..... Maybe I should request afternoon naps?

Plateofcrumbs · 25/02/2014 17:02

Incapinka I was an Ironman widow last year, I feel your pain. I would not be a happy bunny if he was doing one this year - I was on the teetering on the edge of tolerance even with no DCs to worry about.

Ironman training with a toddler AND a newborn - WOW. And I mean WOW in the sense of 'completely idiotic' Wink Has he done one before?

Nomorepeppapig · 25/02/2014 17:22

Had my 20 week scan today and we are having a boy!! We are so excited as we already have a lovely DD. I was told I have a low lying placenta. I was given some leaflets and sent on my way. Feel a bit lost and worried if I'm honest. Has anyone else had this?

talulahbelle · 25/02/2014 17:45

mixi I don't know about normal but I am 18+3 and totally shattered. So looking forward to my bed tonight.

OP posts:
mummytobejuly2014 · 25/02/2014 18:16

mixi im the same and im 21wks. i was out cold for 8.45 last night waiting for obem. hopefully watch it tonight when man utd match is on.
aaah finally got our scan 2mro at 2pm :) so excited and fingers crossed it's all ok & we find out what we're having

fifi669 · 25/02/2014 18:26

nomore my friend had a low placenta. It can mean it grows over the opening of the cervix and you'll need a c section. A lot if the time it'll just migrate of it's own accord and cause no problems.

NancyinCali · 25/02/2014 18:35

I'm exhausted too. Had a little surge of energy at 14-16 weeks and now at 18 I just want to sleep. I'm not sleeping great at night which doesn't help matters. DD is in nursery at the moment and I'm in bed (having done grocery shop and put meat in slow cooker for dinner).

OBEM really brought back memories of my DD's birth (in a good way mainly!). Quite looking forward to doing it all again. Watch out for the (almost) reference to mossy nests (okay she didn't say moss but she did talk about the natural desire to be on our own in the dark and quiet to labour).

liquidstate · 25/02/2014 19:33

Am I the only one completely refusing to watch OBEM. My DH watches it sometimes but I hate it!

Grin
Incapinka · 25/02/2014 20:10

Plate! I think I love you! It is Completely insane. We did just have a chat about it as everyone I mention the IM too goes on about the training.... He hasn't done one before. He is a good endurance cyclist and has done 2 sprint tris and now has entered IM Wales. Absolutely insane. He reassures me that it is not my problem bar the 3 days he will be in Wales (2 travel days and the actual day) and has agreed to taking the week off afterwards as I have pointed out my sanity will need saving by that point!! He seems to think he is quite fit at the moment (which he is) but I do obviously have concerns...

So nice to hear about everyone's scans. Have mine tomorrow. Always feel a little bit apprehensive but fingers crossed it will be ok.

And yes am knackered. I don't think the menfolk understand just how tiring it is to grow a baby even if you aren't showing that much.

FoxtrotOscarBackToEconomy · 25/02/2014 21:15

Good evening all. I had my scan yesterday and everything is ok.

Too tired to type any more! Will drink my tea and collapse into bed. Smile

ismarah · 25/02/2014 21:50

DH earlier, looking at bump: it must be so weird to have this going on.

Yes. Yes it is. First born might be an only child.

justhayley · 25/02/2014 22:44

Congrats on your boy Peppa

  • one of each is lovely Smile

Went to the baby show Sunday, didn't buy anything apart from pick n mix and a stale sandwhich! I used to work in events so got myself the show goody bag and London baby mag bag for free so have lots of little samples. Didn't notice many bargains, shows probably better for 1st time parents. I don't really need to buy much apart from clothes if bump is a girl. Did try out a double buggy that iv been considering but only seen online so not a wasted journey. Enjoyed walking about looking at everyone's bumps though. Was it just me or did everyone seem really glam? I felt like the least yummy mummy at the show lol

KitKatChick · 25/02/2014 23:52

Great reading about everyone's scan. Mine isn't until next week and I'm getting really impatient. I'm feeling tired all the time as well...thinking about it I should probably go to bed! But not before I add myself to the list...

So glad it's not just me with the hairy belly and exhaustion been asleep by 9 every day this week dh now excepted this as normal!

liquid please tell me you are going to complain about your consultant I am so mad just reading your post. Being late and rude is one thing. But as a fellow spd sufferer her comment pushes me over the edge. I very much wish not to be in constant pain so if she has a solution would love to hear it!

Pregnancy pilates was fab last night totally practical not a bit mossy!!! Also saw a friend who didn't know was pregnant which was lovely. Another lady with back problems was there and said it was brilliant at sorting it out for her last pregnancy. So on the to bring list was a pillow but I was worried would be the only one so brought a towel. Everyone had a pillow! Although at one relaxation point I could have fallen asleep maybe a pillow would have pushed me over!!!

liquidstate · 26/02/2014 07:20

ickle thanks, I was upset, now just annoyed. Have my first Physio session today and typically the pelvic pain has subsided a bit Hmm Although have the ongoing shooting pains so it still appears to be SPD.

I honestly thought that I wouldn't be able to exercise so interesting to hear about pilates as well. Will have to investigate further. Lying down with a pillow sounds like a good exercise to me Smile.

ItsAlwaysBetterOnHoliday · 26/02/2014 08:08

liquid your consultant's comments on SPD have made me really annoyed on your behalf. If they come out with that 'never normally seen outside of Berkshire' crap again, tell them I personally know of two decidedly non yummy mummy types in London who suffered from it, one so bad she ended up on crutches until the birth (not to scare you though, having it that bad is really rare!) .

Hope the physio session helps. My friend told me that the physio she saw was great, and far more knowledgeable about the condition than her consultant.

Have my 20 week scan today. Nervous and excited. Still haven't decided if we're finding out the sex!

ZingSweetMango · 26/02/2014 09:15

good luck with scans today

icklekid · 26/02/2014 11:44

liquid the physio I saw was brilliant and I emailed pilates person to ask if it was suitable and she was so experienced and had helped so many people with similar problems. She always had different options for exercises that might be painful! Worth seeing if there is someone similar near you

Incapinka · 26/02/2014 13:58

Liquid my pelvis hasn't felt right since about week 10 so am seeing a Mctimoney chiropractor once a month and that (touch wood) is keeping things under control. I do hate so called health professionals and their comments at times. Never seen outside of Berkshire?! Pah.

sparklesandfizz · 26/02/2014 14:15

20 week scan today - all good and we are having a little girl.
Have just told the other two about baby for the first time. Dd 6 and ds 4 they are v excited. Hope everyone else has good news.

KitKatChick · 26/02/2014 14:40

that's great news sparklesandfizz. I think I subconsciously want a girl as I keep looking at girly things in the shops but we're not finding out so another 5 months before we know.

I've just booked a slot at an antenatal yoga class for this Saturday - a bit nervous but looking forward to it at the same time.

ZingSweetMango · 26/02/2014 14:55

sparkles

lovely news!Thanks

shall we update the list to include who has what?
