Evening all. So what is a dusty fango or is it so obvious I should know Confused

Mammychoo · 10/01/2014 02:14

A dusty fanjo is what we have all been blessed with, within our magical pregnated state we have all been spinkled with gold fanjo dust, therefore creating a new life. When our babies are born they are born with the dust too, creating a lovely glow and enabling us to be all excited and called them babbaboos ??

BakingEating · 10/01/2014 08:54

Piepke? Sounds like Dutch for "ladies with dusty fanjos and cankles"

BakingEating · 10/01/2014 08:57

Doing my GTT at the moment. 10 minutes to go and then I'm free to stuff my face with Apfelberliners. A fry up would go down really well now too!

PainAuxRaisins · 10/01/2014 09:07

New Fred for the final push - thanks Andie. Annoyed someone got slings booted off the end of the last one - some bloody people eh? Good luck with the GTT baking - what's an apfelberliner?? Some kind of apple strudel thingy . Feeling happy today, the sun is shining and I'm feeling my nesting urge kick in (probably about a month too early but nevermind). Would like an EDD buddy - I'm due March 27th - any takers??

IceNoSlice · 10/01/2014 09:10

Mmmm chocolate digestives for breakfast.

MTBMummy · 10/01/2014 09:17

Morning all,

Managed to put my socks and knickers on without knackering my back this morning, which has put me in a great mood, despite dreaming about giving birth to a huge fury spider which woke me up screaming (poor DP)

I relayed my achievement to one of my colleagues - who now thinks I'm mad - stupid all male department

I'm doing the final stretch on the nursery this weekend, have decided that as it's currently a not too awful blue and yellow, we'll keep it that way and redecorate when little bump gets a bit older (and there's less risk of exploding nappies ruining new carpets)

Also received a lovely bag of some boys clothes (was going to say boys bits, but that would be just wrong) she said she had a few vests etc which she no longer needed, it's a huge bag of some gorgeous outfits and baby grows and all good quality - may have to get her a box of choccies or wine to say thank you

FoxMulder · 10/01/2014 09:42

I'm desperately trying not to cross my legs as I sit at my desk. I know it's not good to sit with crossed legs and now it actually hurts to do so, but it's SO HARD to stop myself doing it!

Did not sleep well last night. I think because I spend all evening playing minecraft it gave me weird dreams and disturbed sleep. I was supposed to be reading baby books or thinking about the nursery or summat, but I prefer minecraft. I wonder when my maternal instincts will kick in!

So glad it's Friday!! Longest week ever!

commsgirl · 10/01/2014 10:19

Anyone else got really restless, achy legs? Sitting at my desk is agonising!

Rockchick1984 · 10/01/2014 10:54

Think I had restless legs for the first time ever last night Comms - all twitchy and irritating!

Typically my nesting instinct seems to be kicking in at the moment - just as my SPD is getting much worse! The state of the house is driving me insane, but try to do anything about it and I'm in agony Sad can I do nesting-by-proxy and make DH do it???

BakingEating · 10/01/2014 11:49

Raisins an Apfelberliner is an apple doughnut, but usually it's coiled up like a Chelsea bun and covered in sugar and cinnamon. I ate one the size of my face when I got out of the docs. I would've still preferred a fry up though. Now sitting down for a sensible lunch.

GTT results on Monday, so fingers crossed. I'm only being checked because of type II diabetes being so common

BakingEating · 10/01/2014 11:49

Doh!

... So common in my family.

Sigh

dizhin79 · 10/01/2014 12:17

apfelberliner's sounds amazing!! Grin

PainAuxRaisins · 10/01/2014 13:07

Seriously drooling at the thought of an Apfelberliner (and considering a namechange....haven't had a decent PainAuxRaisins in a while). Oh bloody hell I'm going to have to pop down to my local baker now for something pastry-related. Chelsea bun...mmmmm. Hope your test results are ok on Monday baking - I had my GTT just after Christmas (and a week-long choc fest) so I was a bit nervous but everything came back ok. Fingers crossed it'll be the same for you and that's one less thing to worry about.

AndieDisestablishment · 10/01/2014 14:30

OMG Apfelberliner. dribble

Rock I'm the same today, really need to get the house in order and find DD's birth cert for the nursery (apparently, even though I would have needed her birth cert to get her passport that is NOT sufficient. Hmm) but I can feel my back niggling just at the thought. Ah well, procrastination gets us nowhere.

Now, where can I get an Apfelberliner around these parts.....

OP posts:
dizhin79 · 10/01/2014 14:37

ooooh i just googled apfelberliner, they look even better than they sound!

MTBMummy · 10/01/2014 14:56

curse you all - i'm now really hungry and I had a huge healthy lunch with lots of iron rich foods (no wonder I can't take a dump for days on end) I'm going to have to visit Krispy Kreme on the way home and get a 6 pack (why only 6 you ask - because I can eat 6 on the way home easily, but getting 12 would mean fessing up that I had eaten 6)

HotCrossPun · 10/01/2014 15:35

comms Somebody on the pregnancy board said that those compression stocking things were the best thing for restless legs. Might be worth a go?

BakingEating · 10/01/2014 16:10

Well I'm glad you're all drooling as much as me! Thanks for the good luck wishes. I'm going home to bake lemon surprise pudding now, so drooling some more....

Compression stock

BakingEating · 10/01/2014 16:12

Urgh! Twice in a day!

Compression stockings are soooooo attractive. Better than restless legs though, or Nora Batty ankles.

dizhin79 · 10/01/2014 16:28

good Skills mtb Grin

pixiebell79 · 10/01/2014 16:30

Just discovered why my app wasn't showing any new posts - didn't know about new threads (still getting used to mumsnet!) How come slings got reported and thrown off?! Enjoyed her posts... :(

Lottie345 · 10/01/2014 18:01

An apfelberliner sounds seriously good.

Had restless legs and heartburn plaguing me the last few days. Iron and magnesium rich food supposed to be good for the first and I've been told today that almonds and flavoured milk are good for the latter. And love hearts. Bizarrely.

My nesting instinct is going haywire. I have no excuse for not tidying other than being tired and a slattern (tis true). But we still have plaster to peel off walls of two rooms and redo before DC makes an appearance so I'm having bursts of desperate organisation (buying stuff) and then despair that house is a sty
