Becca It was just the pram - we actually ordered the carry cot top and paid for that. They said that all JLs order from one central warehouse and they are currently out of stock in all stores and the central warehouse.

Thanks for the pram world link - I actually ordered it from another website who today contacted me saying they are also out of stock but they should have more in a week. If it takes longer than a week I may cancel and just get from pram world. I've also left it on order in John Lewis to cover all bases.

31 week appt today - no glucose thank god yay! Was really worried about having to do that horrible GTT test. Blood pressure was raised though so need to chill out a bit I think. I can't honestly see myself actually working through to 38 weeks, I'm sure I will need to stop work or at least cut down before then. Just a shame I will have to take the hit on the money :(

Beccadugs · 14/01/2014 17:37

Which colour are you going for? It's showing more than10 in stock online:

MTB, that's great news, so pleased for you!

I discovered today (5 weeks away from going on mat leave) that my job share partner is 14 weeks pregnant and will be disappearing about 3 months after me..! So not really helping stress levels in my last few weeks :(

JustCallMeBaldrick · 14/01/2014 22:43

Finally made it to the new thread!

Yogibear72 · 14/01/2014 23:12

Suffering with fibroid degeneration again! Luckily I has an understanding boss at work. Want to give up work entirely but have another 4 weeks Sad
Had a bit of a drama at my midwife appointment last week. I complain of period pain and she decided to put me on a monitor to measure to see if I was having contractions. Turned out I was having regular little ones. I was only 32 weeks and 3 days. Next thing I knew the doctor was asked for and they were wanting to do an internal exam and and a swab for preterm labour. The test was negative but I have to say the whole episode gave me a bit of a fright. I was told to rest and take pain killers to try to calm the period pains.
Just wondering if anyone else has had this and whether it's a sign of an earlier labour - at say 37/38 weeks. Neither the doc or midwife would really say but both asked separately 'when was I next coming in'?

puggywug81 · 15/01/2014 06:54

Oh yogi that sounds really stressful, unfortunately I have no experience of this so can't offer any advice but i will be here hoping everything goes to plan for you.

MotorcycleMama · 15/01/2014 08:11

Morning all! I'll quickly introduce myself before rudely intruding on your thread to respond to yogi. I'm 42, and pregnant with first baby conceived using donor egg IVF. Due March 17th, so I'm 31 weeks now. I'm a regular Martians lurker, my usual abode being the pregnant after IVF thread.

yogi that sounds scary, and I'm glad the Drs found that all was ok. I had a similar episode a couple of weeks ago, when I had about an hour and a half of regular BH contractions around 11 pm. They were lasting about 45 seconds and coming every 5 mins. They weren't painful, but were alarming to say the least! I called the emergency assessment clinic and had to go in. All was fine with the baby, and they did an internal examination which showed that my cervix was not dilating, thankfully. They said I had been right to call them, and to return if it happened again, which it hasn't, thank goodness. I think my episode was caused by my system being flooded by adrenalin, as I had witnessed a nasty car accident on my way home from work. Can you think of any possible triggers? It is reassuring to know that if our babies had to be born now, they have a high chance of survival (about 90% I think). Don't hesitate to call the Dr or mw if things don't settle. Good luck!

DitaVonCreamTeas · 15/01/2014 10:52

Big hugs to everyone who’s having crappy stuff to deal with. Can I moan? I’m going to moan.

Moan 1. Out of nowhere I’ve got PGP/SPD. Swaps between feeling like I’ve done some kind of ultra-sadistic inner thigh workout, and feeling like I’ve borrowed the hips of an inactive arthritic 90 year old. Hobbling around at work and avoiding stairs. Tried sleeping with a pillow between my legs, woke up yelping with pain. Decided to book in with an osteopath this Friday who does ante and postnatal work and who’s helped me with back problems before pg, sod the expense. Figured that by the time the midwife referred me to a physio I’d have probably had DS anyway.

Moan 2. The eczema flare-up on my hands that I’ve had since August is driving me insane. I’m basting myself in Diprobase and trying not to claw my skin off.

Moan 3. Senior MGMT have told me there’s no money to pay for my maternity cover and my role is to be covered by my colleagues for the 10 months I plan to be away. Which is shitty for my understaffed co-workers and makes me feel like my role is totally disposable. Way to make a highly trained and experienced person with a track record in innovation and continually excellent client feedback (moi) feel rubbish.

Moan 4. Piles.

OwlinaTree · 15/01/2014 14:02

Hummm. Colleagues covering mat leave presumably means 'we will do the bare minimum till you return and can then pick up the pieces.' At least I think that what it means for the management aspects of my role which are being 'covered'!!

rescoonetwothree · 15/01/2014 14:05

dita sorry to jump in - a few things that are meant to be good for eczema and have worked on people I know - lush' flying fox honey shower gel, Nelson's calendula cream, weleda baby calendula range - have also read on here about oats in a bag under the bath tap but don't know anyone who's tried that in real life, I know it gets great reviews on here though!

DitaVonCreamTeas · 15/01/2014 15:03

Thanks greymoose I'll take a trip to the health food shop this weekend.

Owl I think that's exactly what they mean. The sods.

liberuna · 15/01/2014 15:21

grey oatmeal I used for acne. It works by pulling grease out of the skin and dries it up.

diita so sorry to hear about all health issuew. Im on the same boat qork wise. No cover for my role and im in the middle of rolling out a new system. Good luck to whoever is left to deal with it.

motor hello and welcome :)

yogi my goodness, what a scare! Glad it wasn't the real deal.

mrs good luck with the pram. Mil has got ours so one less thing tstress about

mtb such good news on the job front. So glad you got that sorted. Was your manager at least happy with the result? Or still asking you to give birth and train up your cover?

lottie how goes the damp? Is someone coming to fix it?

liberuna · 15/01/2014 15:24

On a separate note
Is anyone not having emotional moments? The only time I've cried was last Sunday at a Sherlock Holmes episode.

Does that mean I have no feelings? Or that my normal range of hormones outside of pregnancy are so out of wack that it hasn't made an impact now?

Thoughts?

Lottie345 · 15/01/2014 15:53

lib that did make me smile. I think you're perfectly lucky! I think a lot of my emotional mess is coming from tiredness from stupid work.

Damp not fixed but had a man to look at it this morning who thinks he can sort it. Going to try and leave DH to sort it out!

yogi that's sounds scary. But has prompted me to call mw this avo as felt really nauseous this morning and had low down period type pain and was quite shaky and burst into tears on train. I now think it's down to a raspberry leaf tablet (prob quite early to be taking at 32+3) but after seeing your post I thought I'd best check in with her. She seemed fairly unconcerned tho as I hadn't felt contraction type thing or BH (although not had before so not sure what to expect) and thinks could all be down to tiredness...

Imeg · 15/01/2014 16:42

I wouldn't say I'm feeling more emotional than I would if I was tired for any other reason (heartburn keeping me up a bit, also husband keeps waking me up to try to stop me snoring!!)

commsgirl · 15/01/2014 16:47

Lib I was feeling very emotionally stable until Sherlock. I sobbed at that and since then everything is setting me off. So watch out ;).

LyraSilvertongue · 15/01/2014 20:00

Yogi, I'm in the same boat. Got a large subserosal fibroid on the upper front of my uterus, which is degenerating and causing huge amounts of pain. I've been having very painful contractions for four days, frequent but irregular, and spent a couple of hours in the hospital today being monitored. Twice they did the swab but failed to get a result. I had a very similar episode in October. I don't think I'll go into labour early.

What have they given you to relieve the pain? I've been prescribed codeine but it doesn't seem to be working. Still in a LOT of pain.

Yogibear72 · 15/01/2014 22:03

Motor welcome! When are you due? Boy/girl/surprise?

Dita all sounds like reasonable moans to have.

Lottie I didn't explain the fibroid degeneration very well and that coupled with the period pain probably meant they were more worried. They explained my scenario as an 'irritated uterus' but couldn't really say for sure what was causing it. It's reassuring to hear that others have experienced the same period pains at this stage of pregnancy.

Lib I haven't caught up on Sherlock yet - will let you know how I get on.
I'm sure I'm less tearful than before pregnancy which makes me think those previous telly tears were usually after a couple of glasses of Wine X-factor wasn't nearly as entertaining last year Confused

Yogibear72 · 15/01/2014 22:14

Lyra sorry to hear about your fibroid pain Flowers
How far along are you?

I've been given codeine, told to rest and ride it out. You may already know this but it will make you constipated. In fact, they also use it to treat the squits. All bran, prunes and prune juice all taste disgusting but help a lot!

LyraSilvertongue · 15/01/2014 23:14

I'm 33+2, due March 3rd. You?

FrankelInFoal · 16/01/2014 08:12

Morning all. Quick question: how is everyone coping with puffiness. The last few days I've noticed that I'm getting a bit puffier in the hands and feet, but this morning I had a puffy face too. It's gone down now but should I be concerned? Naturally I'm paranoid about pre-eclampsia but I've not had any other symptoms.

LyraSilvertongue · 16/01/2014 08:40

A little puffiness is normal and nothing to worry about.

dizhin79 · 16/01/2014 08:53

I went puffy the other day but had been on my feet for a full day of meetings plus an evening formal dinner ended up very puffed up all over! slept with my feet on a large cushion to try and help it! all fine now tho too Grin

dizhin79 · 16/01/2014 08:56

lib I'm not really having any emotional moments, apart from last weekend, that was my first really. I was tired and had a busy week planned ahead so I put a lot of it down to stress. Ended up crying at the news and feeling upset about the most ridiculous things. Am fully over that now though!

FrankelInFoal · 16/01/2014 12:24

Thanks all, I spoke to
