Hi everyone. Its been a very long time since I have posted on mumsnet, but today I have found out that I am expecting baby number 2. My ds1 is just over three years old. Bit shocked to be having another baby but very pleased too.
It would be great to get a thread going as people join me with their April 2007 due dates!!
Very nervous as ds1 had group b strep and birth and was v poorly but forewarned is forearmed as they say!
Look forward to chatting with anyone who feels like posting!

Hi Everyone,
New to all of this so I will do my best to make sense. Due 13th April and starting to feel rough!! Have a 2 yr old DD and work as a nanny which doesn't bode well with wanting to sleep constantly and hating the smell of food as I feel nauseous. I seem to have so many little things in common with so many of you....It will be great to moan and complain and not feel too guilty!!
GMary I am an Australian too, been in London for 8 years.

twinkle183 · 17/08/2006 09:39

Welcome Greengirlforever, am so glad that you are pregnant again lets hope we both have happy and healthy pregnancies.... when are you due?? (Have you changed your name this time??)

Is anyone else feeling uncomfortably bloated!! I am its like a cross between indigestion and eating too much!!!! Boobs seem to be huge to the point where they are getting in the way!!!

Is anyone got any maternity clothes yet?

Hope everyone is well!!!

Bramshott · 17/08/2006 10:16

Went to bed at 8.30pm last night, and do admit I'm feeling a little better today. Wondering though, how the hell I am going to manage going to the theatre on Saturday (booked for ages as 5th wedding anniversary treat) when last night I had my head down the loo retching at 7.30, and then to bed and sleep at 8.30.

Anyone got any top tips for getting through an evening?! Mammyjo - I am on the lookout for those army & navy sweets! I will have to go armed with a bag of snacks and a sick-bag!

simmsie · 17/08/2006 10:54

Hello there - congrats to all who are expecting! Fingers crosses i am in the club too! My own calculation say Im due 14th April. First time- no idea what to expect!EEK! All advice welcome!

no symptoms as yet....except a little tired- but dont know id that my own imagination!!

Seeing the docs tomorrow- i too am in denial a bit and keep taking pg tests! I'll be bankrupt by the first scan!

babycakes26 · 17/08/2006 12:22

Hi all
just checking it so see how everyone is doing - it is nice to know that we are all ticking along despite our various icky feelings. Welcome to all the new girls to the thread - Simsie it's so nice to know there is someone else who doesn't know what to expect as a first-timer! I'm lucky in that my best friend (who already has a DD and DS) is 20 weeks pregnant to she is keeping me calm when I have the mad panic days! Twinkle, like you starting to feel a little uncomfortably bloated especially by early evening after a day at work - just about holding out on the maternity clothes but for how long...now into my fat day clothes every day and only 8+2 weeks!!! Despite the bulge (OMG could it be twins!!) I have actually lost a few pounds - how weird is that! Anyone got scans booked yet? Still not heard for my midwife despite chasing up...and I was hoping for an early scan after mc last time.

womblingalong · 17/08/2006 16:04

Hi everyone,

Been awol for ages, as have been on hols, hope all are doing well, hello to all the joiners since my last post, hoppe that the nausea is starting to settle down for any sufferers. I started to be sick two days ago, and have everything crossed that it is not as bad as last time, all through everyday for over 4 months! Echoing other posts, eating helps, esp rich tea, ginger biscuits or ginger tea, and I found I only wanted things like toast, soup, fruit and vegetables, I found it hard to eat fish/large meals etc.

Great news about the bleeding stopping Twinkle! Bubblez I hope you are ok.

generaldogsbody1 · 17/08/2006 21:06

OMG! i feel like poo. I have never felt so sick in my life, anything that has a smell makes me heave
Didn't have this with my last two.
I told my boss that i'm preggers again, i wish i had a camera lol. his face was a picture. I only returned to work two months ago after my last lot of mat leave lol
told the family too, had to as its getting obvious all ready. thank goodness i didn't get rid of my mat clothes after last baby

Bugmum · 17/08/2006 21:45

generaldogsbody
Sorry to hear you are feeling rubbish! Hope you have a better day tomorrow

I've been having one of those worry days: if it's not concern about the cramps, it's worry about Downs and so on (given I'm 40), or even about having twins (which wouldn't be a disaster, but would be blooming tricky).

Oh well, it's good to talk!

doobydoo · 17/08/2006 21:48

Hi Bugmum.I think those things off and on as well
Will be semi relieved when i have a scan..would like visual proof there is a baby[ifyswim].
I have some backache and cramp in stomach this eve.I t seems like such a long haul at the mo.
Here's to a more cheery tomorrow.

zazas · 17/08/2006 22:38

I had a day like yours yesterday Bugmum full of worry. I was 32 last time pregnant and now 38 and I am much more worried about Downs etc actualy everything!

Received my booking in information today and it listed all the tests that were available, We don't have nucal scaning where I live so will have to do it privately. Nothing is an easy choice.......

Today was better though as I decided that I can't do anything than what I am doing so I should stop worrying about it

We are away for two weeks from Friday - am really missing my glass of wine with dinner so it will be a bit of a different holiday than last year where we enjoyed sampling France's finest!

Hope everyone has a happy and healthy two weeks and takes care - see you in September!

Bugmum · 17/08/2006 22:41

Zazas - have a great holiday!

schneebly · 18/08/2006 08:25

Buckfyans · 18/08/2006 10:42

Hey everyone,

I am posting again because I am not sure how long it takes for posts to show up, but mine has not appeared yet (an hour and a half after I posted) and I want to join in!!!!!!

In case it does show up, I won't say all the same stuff again, but I will congratulate everyone and keep my fingers crossed for schneebly.

If all things go to plan I will have my first little bundle in April as well. It was planned but I am a little freaked out as I have no clue! x

Buckfyans · 18/08/2006 10:43

shame, just realised that it helps if you push the 'post message' button instead of just previewing....

IsabellaMoi · 18/08/2006 10:45

Oh Scheebly - I hope you and your baby are okay. Know that you have lots of support and sympathy from everyone here. Let us know how things go - we wish you all the very, very best.

Congrats to everyone who has joined in the last few days!

Bugmum - I understand the worry days...my big one was yesterday. I found myself hoping for a twinge of a nausea for the reassurance that all the hormones are doing what they are supposed to be doing.

twinkle183 · 18/08/2006 11:17

Hi schneebly, I know what your going through just try and stay positive!! Will keep my fingers crossed for you!!!

I am feeling very nackered this morning have started taking pregnancy vitamins is anyone else doing that?

Still no sign of sickness - beginning to wonder whether I am pregnant at all I am sure that everything is okay!!! Still sore boobs and they are still expanding am off to buy maternity bras this morning!

Is anyone else starting to show... have twins in the family and am starting to worry!!!

Hope that everyone else is okay!!!

babycakes26 · 18/08/2006 11:33

Hi Twinkle - I have been just like you no real symptoms apart from sore boobs and fairly constant tiredness - oh and the urge to pee every 10 minutes!! Had a bit of a wave of nausea this morning though (first time) at 8+4 weeks so never say never -how many weeks are you? I also have twins in the family - scarey!!! Spoke to my midwife this morning so got booking in on Monday morning - will let you know how it goes...

Thinking about you Schneebly xxx

EllieK · 18/08/2006 15:07

twinkle - i am taking vitamins, when i remember! dp keeps moaning at me for forgetting but as i keep telling him, i very rarely remembered last time and my ds turned out ok!
