Hi everyone. Its been a very long time since I have posted on mumsnet, but today I have found out that I am expecting baby number 2. My ds1 is just over three years old. Bit shocked to be having another baby but very pleased too.
It would be great to get a thread going as people join me with their April 2007 due dates!!
Very nervous as ds1 had group b strep and birth and was v poorly but forewarned is forearmed as they say!
Look forward to chatting with anyone who feels like posting!

Twinkle- at last someone smelly like me!! Yes- i am turning into pumping petra!! All the time- cant tell if this bump i have is baby or wind!! Am eating bran and fibre like theres no tomorrow desp trying to keep regular toilet stops but still no joy!!

Also- im hungry all the time but cant take big meals- in fact i had some early bleeding and it seems to happen when i eat too much!! Checked it out and its fine touch wood but i want my bowels back!!!

Sorry for any mental images gals!!

bubblez · 06/09/2006 14:07

lol at my mental image of trumping pregnant women.

But alas I also have to addmit to being in the bottom burping squad. LOL some days are worse then others though. I'm sure that my DP finds me very attractive at the mo.......NOT!!!

EllieMayW · 06/09/2006 14:15

Doobydoo - right with you. Really struggling with feeling sick today. So far eating actually helps, its just getting to the point where I find something I fancy that's hard.

I too am rather windy - DH thinks that I am pure comedy at the moment with all my pleasant symptoms. I too am a homicidal maniac in my dreams - DH was the subject of brutality last night. I assured him that it was not a nightmare but a dream when he laughed at me! Also sleep talking - again seemingly just for DH's amusement. Apparently I sat bolt upright last night screaming at him to get the custard out of my car. Clearly I am as mad as a box of frogs.

Still remembering the heartbeat flickering yesterday and smiling though. Praying that it just keeps at it. Is it really 12 weeks before we are out of the very risky period? I too am wishing the weeks away.

Look forward to hearing about midwife appointment and a successful driving test pass.

CornflakeKid · 06/09/2006 14:34

No farting here - but do have new craving - ready salted crisp sandwiches - yummy.

emmymummy · 06/09/2006 15:15

Hello all. LOL at some of the descriptions/dreams you're all having esp. Cornflake spraying dh with oust - know totally what you mean. Everything smell wise makes me want to barf.
Had a rather erm erotic dream about a well known film star last night, god knows why as I don't exactly fantasise about the unobtainable, but it was v v nice anyway. Still don't fancy any of that action of the real kind though!
Also having the heavy tummy feeling thing, and lots of period like pains. Don't remember these when I was preg with dd, so quite reassured that others are having them too.

Buckfyans · 06/09/2006 15:36

Thank you for all your thoughts and best wishes. You are probably surprised to see me here but something happened today and now I don't know what to think....

I went to the doctor to arrange for a D&C today, I got a different doctor to the one I spoke with yesterday who advised me that the PG was 99% likely to not be viable. The second doctor read my scan notes and rang the sonographer (sp? I think that is what the scan man is called). The Sonographer told him he did not believe I had Miscarried that the scan presented as a normal healthy 5 week pregnancy ( he was the senior guy, the guy who did the scan also concurred), that if I had miscarried it would look entirely different. Based on the first day of my last AF and my BFP with the doctor recorded I had a EDD of 19 April, which would have made me 8 weeks tomorrow.

The second doctor did another pregnancy test saying that although the hormone sticks around a while after you mc its not usually 3 weeks....it was v. +ve. So I have a scan man telling me it is a healthy 5 week pg and a doctor who says i should be 'cautiously optimistic'. I asked how that could be surely I would have to have concieved after my bfp for the pg to be 5 weeks? He said I could have ovulated late. So now I have to wait two weeks to see what happens.

I cried all night last night and now I am exhausted and don't know what to think. I had to tell my employer too as on ANOTHER duvet day today!!! I'm trying not to get my hopes up...but....

CaptainDippy · 06/09/2006 15:44

Oh Bucky - I am shaking fory ou - what an ordeal to have to go through - REALLY hoping you are still PG and all is ok with wee bean - There is hope, how wonderful!!!! You have made my day!!!

Melting and wilting under the heat yuk yuk yuk - Have v.bad trapped wind - ow ow ow!!

Later ........

EllieMayW · 06/09/2006 15:50

Bucky - How on earth you are coping with all this I have no idea. How dreadful and totally amazing all at the same time. I have absolutely everything crossed for you and hoping that the next two weeks whizzes by so you know for certain and can celebrate big time. Crikey. Thank God the Dr questioned the scan.

liath · 06/09/2006 15:55

Bucky - I really feel for you! Could you ask them to check your pregnancy hormone levels? Two levels 48 hours apart (blood test I'm afraid) should show a doubling of the level if the pregnancy is OK - this would give you an idea of what is going on without waiting another 2 weeks. This is basically what happened to a friend (her levels doubled and all was well).

HTH

Greengirlforever · 06/09/2006 16:19

OH MY GOD Bucky - I can't believe this! Have not checked in for a day and what news to find. Everything crossed for you but what an unbelievable stress-fest this must be for you till you know for sure! Liath's suggestion sounds like the way to go? Then might you be on the May thread instead? If so, you'd better keep visiting!

emmymummy · 06/09/2006 16:20

Bucky - unbelieveable.

I have everything crossed for you hon and hope hope hope that all is well after all.

xxx

doobydoo · 06/09/2006 16:22

Fingers crossed Bucky!Hope the next 2 weeks fly by!

Banini · 06/09/2006 17:16

Oh my what a shock Bucky. You must be emotionally exhausted. Hope everything goes ok from now on.

I went to the doctors today to get pg confirmed. So that's me in the system now I see the midwife on the 20th to get booked in. I've been feeling rather rough every afternoon and i thought my boobs were sore before. I can't wait to tell my kids the news. The boys will be fine but DD will be desperate for a sister

AngeG · 06/09/2006 17:40

Wow Bucky so much going on for you! Liath's suggestion sounds good. Might help with the worrying and stress for the next 2 weeks. Fingers crossed and thinking of you.

I too am suffering in the wind dept! It's ok when you're at home but when you're out of the house or at work it's so embarrassing and there don't always seem to be other people around to blame

Ms sickness seems to be ok one day and awful the next, today is an ok day.

xx

bubblez · 06/09/2006 17:49

OH bucky fingers crossed for you that your bean is still there and they did just eff up your dates. Thank goodness they checked again!! Fingers crossed for you and thoughts and {{{{hugs}}}} going your way.

bubbaloo · 06/09/2006 18:29

Oh Bucky, that's wonderful news!!!.I have everything crossed for you and your scan in 2 weeks time.Lets hope it flies by and you get the best news ever.

CornflakeKid · 06/09/2006 18:56

OMG Bucky what a rollercoaster ride - I really feel for you and hope everything sorts itself out - the next two weeks will be torture (sorry to sound so blunt!) - why not get yourself signed off for the 2 weeks - I'm sure your doctor would be quite happy to do so under the circumstances and your employer will understand. You need to rest, gather your strength and have some 'cave' time - get pampered and lots of tlc. I really really hope everything is okay - take care xx

Buckfyans · 06/09/2006 19:43

I am still kind of punch drunk. Thanks for your suggestions. Cornflakekid, whilst I am becoming quite the sickie connoisseur, I think I should show up a bit at work , they are starting to forget who I am! I guess it will take my mind off things having something to do as well.

Thanks for the info Liath. If I start getting obsessed I will approach the doc about the blood test thing..I think I will stay away from the doctors surgery/hospital for a while otherwise and try and focus on other things. I wasn't even sure if to post here again in case I get settled into a false sense of security again. If it can be true, it would however explain the lack of pg symptoms and the dc would be the implantation bleed. Well time will tell. Thank you all DP read all the posts and agrees your all lovely

Buckfyans · 06/09/2006 19:46

had to correct my last sentence grammer was awful

'Thank you all. DP read all the posts and agrees you're all lovely '

oooggs · 06/09/2006 20:32

Wow Bucky fingers crossed heres to the next two 'waiting' weeks

CornflakeKid · 06/09/2006 20:43

oooggs - can you feel the twins moving yet - was wondering with two of them whether you feel them earlier?

Sexonlegs · 06/09/2006 22:00

Bucky, what a nightmare for you - a real rollercoaster of emotions I imagine. Keeping everything crossed for you. xx

CaptainDippy · 06/09/2006 22:26

Ditto!

Need to go and eat chips .........

IsabellaMoi · 06/09/2006 23:01

Bucky - what an emotional ordeal. As someone else said, thank goodness for the doctor who checked through your records. Truly hope it all works out and that your bean is safe and thriving.

I've been feeling better the last few days. It is a nice change, of course, but it also brings its own set of irrational worries...

I've looked at a few other antenatal clubs on here and I can fairly confidently say that the April 2007 crew are the nicest of the lot!! I'm only partially kidding. Hope everyone is doing okay. Have a good night.

simmsie · 07/09/2006 06:06

Buckyfans- a miracle in the making! You sound like you are holding it together really well and thank god for a doctor who cares enuogh to double check! It sounds like you are doing all the right things- if it gets too much though, you should demand an earlier scan- i was able to see a heart beat at 7 weeks after i had problems- though i did nearly lose control of my bladder with all the water i had to drink! Big hugs to you x
