Hi everyone. Its been a very long time since I have posted on mumsnet, but today I have found out that I am expecting baby number 2. My ds1 is just over three years old. Bit shocked to be having another baby but very pleased too.
It would be great to get a thread going as people join me with their April 2007 due dates!!
Very nervous as ds1 had group b strep and birth and was v poorly but forewarned is forearmed as they say!
Look forward to chatting with anyone who feels like posting!

Buckyfans - am in tears at your bittersweet description of your loss. That is exactly what happened to me in March. Take it easy - take all the time you need. When, and if, you are ready try again. Thinking of you lots. [hugs]

Oh Bucky - thats terrible news - thinking of you. Take care of yourself xx

Cleaning spree complete. Haven't had this much energy for weeks - have one hour before the boys home so off for big bubbly bath.

Made myself a chicken & mush pie with potato top thinking ms has subsided - lets just say I've got as far as the crispy potato top!! enough said...

CaptainDippy · 05/09/2006 15:05

Oh Bucky, I am so very sorry, thinking of you and praying for you as you strugle through this difficult time. You will have a baby. I am just sorry it isn't now. [hugs] xxxx

AngeG · 05/09/2006 16:36

Buckyfans - I'm really sorry thinking of you x

Hi there everyone, only been at work for a day and there seem to be loads of new messages.

Welcome newcomers!

Elliemay wonderful news really pleased for you.

Ms seems to be easing a bit this week although hits with a vengence every now and then. I'm 9
+4 wks today according to my dates. Seeing MW on Monday afternoon, she's bringing info about nuchal scan...which I have to have done privately, wouldn't bother as i'm 27 but dh is 40.

Heard on the news today that a link has been made between olders fathers and their children suffering from autism...bit scary.

Hope ms is easing for people now
Take care xx

CornflakeKid · 05/09/2006 17:04

AngeG

I saw that report today - seems to be a bit off the wall and rather than provide a useful insight into autism, causes worry and confusion. Like most reports these days, there is a great deal of scaremongering - my dh is 41, I have 2 healthy boys - who have both had the mmr and all is fine - do we really need to know this information? Is it really informative?

Rant over!

AngeG · 05/09/2006 17:12

I'm glad other people agree! Didn't hear the news myself.

My dh xwife(who I work with!... it's a family business) delighted in telling me today at work.

Couldn't help but feel she was just trying to upset me, she knows i'm pregnant.

CornflakeKid · 05/09/2006 17:42

Ange

What a cow! Mention something about being at it like rabbits and how fertile he is despite being 40!!

bubbaloo · 05/09/2006 17:59

Bucky-Really sorry to hear your sad news. Will be thinking of you.x

Welcome to the newbies and congrats on your scan Elliemay.

I've also been having really vivid dreams, but certainly not nice ones.I dreamt the other night that I killed and chopped up my next door neighbour, who btw...we get on very well with!!!!!!!

oooggs · 05/09/2006 18:36

Really sorry Bucky ((((((hugs)))))))))

Met the midwife today, she is new to the area and seemed very pleasant.

Ages to go!!!!!!!

Bugmum · 05/09/2006 19:02

Buckyfans - I can't think of a reason in the world that you would be looking at this thread now, but I am so terribly sorry

muminamini · 05/09/2006 19:53

Hi everyone

I am so so sad to read that you've lost your bean Bucky. I wish you all the love and strength you need to get through this and I echo Captain Dippy's thoughts to you totally.

Welcome to all the new ladies, daffodowndilly and elliek (fab news re scan!) - I'm having trouble keeping up!

MS is back again today - had a few days reprise but it was back with avengance all day today...

SOL - I had the really heavy dragging feeling for a couple of weeks - really horrible crampy feeling like your period is going to start at any time??? Apparently this is totally normal. It went at around 6 and a half weeks for me (after I had the brown discharge stuff). Also I suffer from Sinusitis and Allergic Rhinitis so totally sympathise with you. When I finally got to see the consultant about it he couldn't do anything for me as I was ttc - the only thing you can do (and it does work temporarily) is steam inhalation to unblock all the little tubes round your ears and nose. It really is the most hideous and uncomfortable condition. I hope it helps you a bit, you can put something like Olbas Oil in but just old fashioned hot water on it's own is just as good.

I feel like such a big blob - I have had to resort to the elastic band through the loop of my jeans already :-(

Bubaloo - lmao at your dream - I too have been suffering from the vivid dreams - I prefer the "erotic" ones to the one I had last night where I woke up in a total terror - I honestly was involved in some kind of "Matrix style" battle with aliens who had invaded the planet...I was actually quite impressed in the morning with my own imagination! lol

AngeG - it's a shame your DH's x is so obviously jelous - I would completley ignore the silly moo! and try not to worry petal....look at Paul McCartney and Des O Connor - loads of peeps who are a little more mature have perfectly healthy babies in the same way as really young ones may not. It's just a matter of luck and not much else - I am sure if you are both taking care of yourself you will be 100% fine.

Sorry it's so long! Had alot to catch up on tonight
xx

bubbaloo · 05/09/2006 20:20

Tee hee at the Alien battles, muminamini.

CornflakeKid · 05/09/2006 22:52

I normally use homeopathic pulsatilla capsules for blocked sinuses - they are great - not sure if can use in pg so would need to ask a pharmacist/homeopath.

I need to go to bed! Have come home from a meeting and hubbie has cooked smelly food - yak! Sprayed him with oust - def works!

simmsie · 06/09/2006 06:07

hello there everyone- blimey you've all been busy messaging! Big hugs to you buckyfans if you are reading this.

I too have been having strange dreams- last night it was jumping seamlessly from 8 weeks to labour - the shortest pregnancy ever!

Since i last looked online have had an emergency scan because of bleeding and saw a heartbeat- wow!

Now personal question- ok- so am 8 plus 4 and its my first pg- but think am already getting a bump- does that mean Im going to be huge??!!!Help!

daffodowndilly · 06/09/2006 10:03

Thanks for all the welcomes and I am so sorry Buckyfans.

Lol at all the dreams - quite strange here as well when i do manage to sleep (which isn't often or for very long at the mo).

Simmsie I lost my waist quite early on when I was pregnant with DD but didn't really have a bump until quite late (was quite huge tho - not really sure it was related to the early tummy. Sorry doesn't really help does it?

CaptainDippy · 06/09/2006 11:09

Morning - not feeling so bad this morning - it seems I have one good day, one bad day, one good day, one bad day .... etc ..... So coping ok atm - LOADS to do this morning - about 1,000 loads of washing and so much tidying and phone callling - feel like my head is going to explode!!!!

Looking forward to seeing my midwife on Monday, but then have my driving test on Tues, which is sort of over-shadowing everything else - Soooooo nervous - eeeeek!

How is everyone else doing today???

twinkle183 · 06/09/2006 11:15

My goodness CaptainDippy where do you get all your energy from and can you pass some over to me . I feel like mine is being sucked from my body with every little movement I make...lol Good luck with your driving test on tuesday. Wish I could drive! But by the time I get the money together to do the lessons I'll be ready to give birth..lol

Simmsie I too have joined the 'no waist' club already only now I'm starting the 'no waist, pop belly club'.. very attractive!! So you're def not alone.

PMSL at MIAM's alien battles and Bubaloo's secret homicidal tendencies, I thought that my dreams were weid!!

Well 9 weeks and 1day today according to docs dates. Still get heartburn, still get indigestion, still burping like a truck driver and still waking up with hangover effect (which now includes gunky mouth...blerk!!). But today I feel suprisingly happy!!

How is everyone else today?

doobydoo · 06/09/2006 11:51
