Hi everyone. Its been a very long time since I have posted on mumsnet, but today I have found out that I am expecting baby number 2. My ds1 is just over three years old. Bit shocked to be having another baby but very pleased too.
It would be great to get a thread going as people join me with their April 2007 due dates!!
Very nervous as ds1 had group b strep and birth and was v poorly but forewarned is forearmed as they say!
Look forward to chatting with anyone who feels like posting!

Welcome sleepingbag!

Feeling bit less grumpy today! Boys back at school/playgroup so planning to go back to bed and then have massive cleaning spree - it's been a few weeks due to the ms and it's starting to get to me! Going to buy lots of cleaning products so house smells sparkly and no horrible retch inducing smells!

I have told all my friends and family now as it is a bit obvious - not work or general public though!

Ooggs - what a nightmare - I've felt a little dizzy when get up quickly - need to get my bloods done - I suffer from low blood pressure in pg and bouts of iron deficiency - this time am going to ask for liquid iron supps as apparently less likely to make you constipated than tablets.

My boobs have been hurting less since bought a total support bra from M&S (maternity ones bad fit on me) - they used to feel engorged and like they were going to drop ff when took bra off - now they feel fine - just huge and roadmap of blue veins!

Have a nice day everyone

13 days to scan...go bean go!

liath · 05/09/2006 08:18

Elliemay & Bucky - best of luck for your scans today - will be thinking of you.

Greengirlforever · 05/09/2006 09:57

Adding my good luck wishes to EllieMay & Bucky for today.

Sleepingbag welcome to you. I can't imagine you'll have too much opposition to at least going for a homebirth - chances are your DS was posterior hence the forceps? Always much more likely in a first baby. I had the birth from hell with DS1 and DS2 popped out in a water pool at home despite being 10lbs in size!

Ooogs at your Debenhams adventure - you had better take it easy big time!

Zazas & Bugmum (fellow oldies!) I have told 2 close friends who don't live near, my running club cos of me wimping out of a few running nights (!) and my DH. I especially don't want my DS1 (age 13) to know because I think the miscarriage was quite upsetting for him last time. I too will wait until after the anomaly tests etc.

Cornflakekid - me too with the low bp and the anaemia. Last time I had orange sachets of liquid iron - quite nice if you like drinking metal, which I did!

CornflakeKid · 05/09/2006 10:07

Greengirlforever - I did wonder what the liquid stuff it might be like. Do they do blackcurrant??!!

Cleaning spree in full swing - limescale stuff down all toilets - bleached water in every sink - shake n vac on every carpet - febreezed all curtains/cushions - hoovered/dusted lounge and conservatory - just need to crack on with the playroom next - way too much lego! Then upstairs...

It feels so satisfying when all clean and smells nice! I am normally very env friendly and tend not to buy all those cleaning products but the smell thing has taken priority! The shake and vac smells the nicest! Have also bought some of that oust stuff that eliminates smells - do you think people might think I'm a bit weird if I keep it in my handbag??!!!!!

Time for cup of tea and third Rocky! Have also spied a fry's peppermint choc in cupboard belonging to hubbie - yummy!

Good luck for scans today - fingers and toes crossed

CaptainDippy · 05/09/2006 10:31

Chocolate - Bleurgh! Feeling rough rough rough - wishing I had time for mega spring clean - unfortunately have DD's at home so not poss - Just feeling yukky and weird. Bleugh! Just proud of you all for your cleaning though - think the cleaning products would make me barf. Yuk!

Sorry - I sound like a right old misery guts, but I'm not really - honest!

Midwife finally called me this morning - have booking in on Monday morning - hurrah!

Feeling yuk, looking huge - haven't told many people yet, but think I am going to have to before too long - lots of loooong stares at my belly of late!!

Smole · 05/09/2006 10:37

Cornflakekid where on earth do you find the energy. I get worn out just walking upstairs at the moment

8+4 today still feeling yucky. Scan on Thursday. Whoopee.

Good luck for the scans today.

CaptainDippy · 05/09/2006 10:43

Ditto Smole - I just walk up the road to postbox and I'm huffing and puffing!

EllieMayW · 05/09/2006 10:44

Hi everyone, thank you for all your welcomes and best wishes - they obviously helped as as of an hour ago WE HAVE A HEARTBEAT!!!!!!!!!!! So totally amazing to see this really strong flicker. The Dr said I am 6 weeks plus 5 days so no wonder they couldn't see a heartbeat last week as I was 5 1/2 weeks not 7!

Back in the land of blissfully happy and trying not to moan about ms and other joyful symptoms. I still feel quite nervous as she said that we are still very early days etc. We have not told a soul yet which is killing me - and hard as I like my wine. I am certain that friends suspect but are not saying anything - they all know we have been trying for ages. DH feels very strongly about waiting until 12 weeks (that is FOREVER away)I am going to try and persuade DH to let me tell a close friend who is 13 weeks pregnant so we can enjoy/moan it together.

Loads of luck to Bucky today too. Sincerely hope that yours is all okay. I know how stressful it is - I burst into (hormonal) tears from the moment she started scanning.

Bugmum - what's an oldie? I am 35 1/2 and the Hosp has me down as a late starter! Or did you mean oldie as in second time Mum?!

Have a good day everyone.
x

CaptainDippy · 05/09/2006 10:48

EllieMay - WAHOOOOOOOO! Wonderful news honey - really fantastic - so pleased for you - Yippee!! Thank you for letting us know! "Oldie" just means someone a bit older (I guess over 40-ish??) having a baby - whether it is their first, second, third, forth, etc etc Not sure if 35 counts, not that "old", imho - "Late Starter" - how rude!!

Bugmum · 05/09/2006 10:49

Elliemay - Whoohoo!!!! That is fantastic news!!!!

By oldie, I certainly wouldn't mean someone of 35! I'm 40 (had my first baby at 39), will be 41 when this one is born, all being well, so I think that counts as ooooold. Certainly blooming feel it at the moment

Bugmum · 05/09/2006 10:50

CaptainDippy - Snap!

CaptainDippy · 05/09/2006 10:51

Bugmum, you "oldie", you!!

Greengirlforever · 05/09/2006 11:06

Bugmum - you really know how to make a girl feel good, seeing as I'm even older than you! Shall I change my nickname to Methuselah???

WELL DONE ELLIE MAY AND BEAN!!!

And good luck Bucky.

I also have no energy to cook dinner - never mind clean the house! Oh yeah - but that must be because I'm just so damn old!!!

Sexonlegs · 05/09/2006 11:09

Mornng all. Wow - lots been hapenning on here. I have been away for a few days so just catching up with all the news.
Babycakes, was really sorry to hear your news. I hope you are feeling ok about it all.
Glad lots of you have scans and things are progressing well.
I am feeling soooo sick, but not been sick fortunately. Boobs are well painful, and can't bear dd sitting on me and squashing them.
Have had really bad sinusitis the last few days as well, which is a nightmare when you can't take anything. Does anyone have any remedies?
Need to head, as at work. Love to all.xx

daffodowndilly · 05/09/2006 11:15

Hello! Can I join in too? Am just 6 weeks and very nervous about this pregnancy. I have 1 DD (4yrs) and a DS (11mths!) already so hopefully this will be my third. Had miscarriages before both my children so am very nervous but just wanted to join in even if it's just for a little while. After very sicky pregnancies I have absolutely no symptoms this time so have been offered an early scan next week - not sure i'll take it yet. So hello everyone!

zazas · 05/09/2006 11:37

Welcome Daffodowndilly and best of luck. Big congrats to EllieMay.

Well at 38 and with horrid MS I feel old! Can someone just remind me of the reason behind it? Can nature not evolve in this department?

twinkle183 · 05/09/2006 11:47

bubblez · 05/09/2006 11:58

Hello all and welcome all newcomers and congrats, my goodness it took me so long to catch up on all the posts.

Great news about you little beanies heatbeat Elliemay.

Daffodowndilly welcome and congratulations, fingers crossed for a healthy and sticky pregnancy.

SOL I didn't know that your pregnant big CONGRATULATIONS hun how many weeks are you?

Elliek lol at your doctor offering you a MATB1 form. I'm 9 weeks today according to my doc but we'll soon see how right she is (scan on the 19th sep). ditto with being born 24 years ago. I said I wanted to do something big for my 25th bday. Being a month of giving birth will be quite a big thing I guess. lol

With everyone who is having vivid dreams. I have had some very strange dreams and a lot of them seem to have baby blue in them (a sign, maybe). It might be because everyone that I speak to thinks that I'm having a boy though. Also had a very strange dream involving David and Victoria Beckham and a swarm of insects attacing my car (I don't own a car BTW).

No headaches so far today so am very pleased about that. But have been having heartburn the past few nights. Just want the 12week to come now. (how ungreatful does that sound)

Sexonlegs · 05/09/2006 12:28

Welcome Daffodowndilly.Hope your pg goes well, and look forward to getting to know you.
And thank you Bubblez for your welcome.
I am just over 6 weeks pg, so due 28th April.
How are you?
Lol at your dreams. I have been having quite saucy dreams! Daren't tell my dh as know doubt he will want action, and cannot bear the thought at the mo.
Feeling really heavy "down there" for the last few days. Anyone else feeling this? Bit worried about it.
HTH. xx

bubblez · 05/09/2006 12:47

LOL I'm with you with the saucy dreams too. Glad you said it first though didn't want to meantion it in case anyone mistook me for a nympho .... I've just popped over to the TTC pos sep thread and it seems like SOH is pregnant again!!! Isn't that fab!! I really hope that this one is a sticky one for her this time. Will have to congratulate her when she is a little more sure of her BFP.

I can't say that I feel 'heavy' I have had suistitus (sp) and tight feeling in my pelvis though, but wouldn't know what the heavy feeling might be about. As long as it's not causing you pain. But if your worried speak to the doc. I'm sure that mine thinks that I'm just a silly panicy woman but I don't care, as long as my mind is at ease after. lol

liath · 05/09/2006 13:04

Great news, Elliemay!

Cornflakegirl - if I pay you enough can you come & clean my place please?

This thread is great - not least because now I feel really young at 34 , it's so nice that there's people out there who understand what you mean if you moan that opening the fridge makes you feel sick!!!!

Buckfyans · 05/09/2006 13:38

Well, its my turn to say goodbye...scan did not go well to say the least! My baby up and left it seems...leaving his house behind and empty.

Thanks to all of you who put up with my rambling for the last few weeks. I wish you all the best with your pregnancies and hope you have happy healthy babies.

See ya.
Bucky x
