Hi everyone. Its been a very long time since I have posted on mumsnet, but today I have found out that I am expecting baby number 2. My ds1 is just over three years old. Bit shocked to be having another baby but very pleased too.
It would be great to get a thread going as people join me with their April 2007 due dates!!
Very nervous as ds1 had group b strep and birth and was v poorly but forewarned is forearmed as they say!
Look forward to chatting with anyone who feels like posting!

Bugmum-Another hug coming your way.Hope you are ok.x

liath · 22/08/2006 08:05

Bugmun, how worrying for you, hope it turns out to be a false alarm and don't worry about posting if it helps. I think a lot of us who've joined the thread from early pregnancy did so in case we needed support if it all went wrong.

muminamini · 22/08/2006 09:44

YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!

You have made my day - I am so pleased to see you on here with your BFP!!!

Banini · 22/08/2006 09:56

Hi all

I thought i'd pop on and introduce myself. I got a very faint + on Sunday. I'd tested a few days before and it was -, but i just new i was. Boobs like rocks, feeling sqeemish most of the day, cleaning the house like a woman possessed (so not me). I think i'm due around the 26th but will probably go into May.

This pregnancy is not planned as i'm 39 but we're getting our head round it now. We've got 3 kids already who are 9,7,4. I've only told my mum & dad who are a little shocked but delighted for us. As soon as i go to the doctors my friends will know as most of them work there. So i'm putting off going for now.

So hello

mammyjo · 22/08/2006 10:06

Bugmum, thinking of you today and really hoping its a false alarm xxxx

Welcome to all the newcomers, cant believe how many people are on this thread now!!

Still feeling crap and sick and knackered although for some reason I dont feel quite so tired this morning so plan to make the most of it. Ds is begging me to take him out on his bike so I will try to do that in a bit as long as the rain stays off. Feel really mean lately as poor ds has been stuck at home most days with the telly and me as very poor company, no energy or inclination to do anything. Will attempt some "quality" time today!

Congrats to all who've join, and so sorry for those like schneebly for whom it isn't looking great. Reminds us all we're not out of the woods yet.

Mammyjo - thank you so much for the offer of the sweets, but actually I found some in our local newsagents (!). Grannies everywhere must be stocking up on these on weekly basis I think. They do seem to help don't they.

I got through the theatre trip on Saturday with a large plate of noodles beforehand, crisps in a tupperware box, constant juice sipping and the army and navy sweets. Quite enjoyed the evening actually, but have paid for it big time with two days of the worst sickness ever! Two early nights later, I am feeling a lot better today, so maybe that's the key.

This morning sickness lark is funny isn't it - sounds such a small thing, but takes over your life! I have to inject daily because of problems in my last pregnancy, and I was really worried about that beforehand, however, I think I'd gladly stick a needle in myself half-hourly if it was a trade-off between that and having this constant sickness!

That's enough waffling from me, better go and do some work while I'm still feeling well enough to contemplate it.

Greengirlforever · 22/08/2006 11:49

There's loads of us!
Schneeby, like Twinkle I was where you are in March this year and I am feeling for you. Bugmum - have you got another thread? If not - keep posting here. Any news, cos bleeding without any problems is quite common apparently? I'm just back from a "festie" which was wonderful. I ate too much and drank too much (ie - at all!) but it was great. DS1 enjoyed it too. It's funny after what happened in March but my attitude this time is really sink or swim to this baby. It kind of caught me by surprise and I guess I think something along the lines of if its tough enough it's going to make it. I'm taking folic acid and trying to eat well, but I'm also still going running and having the odd glass of wine. I just don't want to be too "precious" about it for some reason. I don't know if anyone else who has has a mc before feels this way when they get pg again?

twinkle183 · 22/08/2006 12:26

Hi Greengirlforever - I feel exactley the same about as you do!!! Maybe its because we've been through so much this time that we are protecting ourselves from something going wrong! I don't know whether that makes any sense!

Today - I have started feeling alittle sick, boobs are the size of melons and seem to be nackered all the time! Otherwise good just waiting for the midwife appointment? Anyone else had appointments through e.g. scan or midwife??

Am keeping my fingers crossed for you bugmum! Take care

Smole · 22/08/2006 13:05

Can I tentatively join you. I don't know how long I'll be here as I've already had 3 m/c. 4th time lucky! Due date will be 13th April.

twinkle183 · 22/08/2006 13:37

Congrats to all the newcomers since I last posted!!!

Hi Smole - congrats! Try and stay positive everything will be fine!

Take care xxx

EllieK · 22/08/2006 14:51

twinkle, i see mw on 4th and scan on 22nd.
hoping the scan will make it more real and i'll get more excited, can't get past dreading it yet.

EllieK · 22/08/2006 14:58

NEWCOMERS - have you added your details to April 2007 Stats ?

Bugmum · 22/08/2006 16:47

So far, no more bleeding, but it's incredibly hard to stay positive (no pun intended!) yet the hope is difficult, as well. Took another PG test and am still pregnant according to that, but then it was only a tiny bit of bleeding, so I would expect to be at this stage - it's just that there could be worse to come.

Thanks for all the support, ladies, and hope everyone is having a good day

bobblehead · 22/08/2006 17:28

Thinking of you Bugmum. I know its hard to be positive but so many people seem to have bleeding early on and are fine. How many weeks are you? I have read it is common to have a little bleed around the time your period would be due (e.g 4 weeks, 8 weeks, etc.)

Welcome to any newcomers

Feeling sick and tired and very hungry, but struggling to find food I want to eat (why is it never healthy stuff I want either?!). Had a rough couple of nights with dd which hasn't helped the tiredness. I'm hoping its teething and not some horrible new phase she is going through! I'm so scared she still won't be sleeping through by the time this baby comes along. How will I see to two of them? Dh is useless as he is so grumpy when woken he ends up being really mean.

CornflakeKid · 22/08/2006 17:49

I'm going for accupuncture on friday for tiredness/sickness - worked a treat last time - but the lady has changed so hope the new one is as good as the last one! Last time I had 3 goes at 8 weeks and it went (£100 well spent) - suffered with morning sickness to 26 weeks with my first pg!!

For those first time mums - there is a light at the end of the tunnel! Keep going...

hollyhobbie · 22/08/2006 17:59

Hi Smole, congrats. The 13th is my DD's birthday, so I hope it's also a lucky 13th for you.

Buckfyans · 22/08/2006 18:53

Let me preface my comments by saying I am very concerned and am thinking about Bugmum and Schneebly and sending nothing buy good vibes your way.... Its just that as this is my first baby I am quite shocked by how common mc seems to be...I am totally freaked reading the posts and spend too much time analysing my underwear (sorry if tmi).

I thought it was a 15-20% risk, which is high of course, 1 in 5 ish, but I am petrified. I really don't mean to sound selfish, I'm sure I do , but is it really as bad as it seems?

CornflakeKid · 22/08/2006 19:07

Buckfyans

I think most people feel the same way but try to be positive or not think about it - it is a very self obsessed time for us and quite rightly! It is very hard not to think about it - I have a sanitary towel in my bag just in case I start to bleed - not being pessimistic - just in case sort of thing. I keep saying to my hubbie - how on earth am I going to get through the next 6 weeks and what on earth did I do last time to keep my mind occupied?!

Any ideas welcome!

Buckfyans · 22/08/2006 19:12

Thanks Cornflakekid, its just on one hand I want to enjoy the idea, but then I think I should put it to the back of my mind to avoid any possible disappointment. I want to join in in the chat, but then I'm scared to read anything in case anthing has happened to anyone.

I like to think I am a realist rather than a pessimist, but it just seems so frequent. I will take your advice and try not to think about it. I haven't told many people, so its not like I have to discuss it with anyone! Fingers crossed for everyone, despite my moaning I am sure we will be OK. x

CornflakeKid · 22/08/2006 19:19

Buckyfans

It can help to tell a couple of trustworthy friends as they can be a great support when you do feel crap or if anything happens.

muminamini · 22/08/2006 19:20

Sorry if I put anyone one a downer with this post but I am in mega panic mode

Sorry if TMI....but upon going to the loo - nothing on panty pad but upon wiping there is the slightest brown discharge. Definatley not red and not even brown just a bit discoloured. I am a bit crampybut have been since I found out and also have terrible wind so half the time that is the cause of the cramp. I'm terrified this is the beginning of the end.

I know I'm just gonna have to ride it out and wait and see but I am just terrified. These early weeks are just not enjoyabe at all for me - I am so worried every time I go to the loo
x

maazaa · 22/08/2006 19:33

sorry to crash in, muminamini - just happened to see your thread. Am from the due in feb thread.

Is this the time you would normally have had your period? I read somewhere that this can have an effect during the early months and you can get crampy.

I paniced last week when discharge turned from normal to ever so slightly beige. Someone suggested it was the early signs of thrush. It went away again though. It's so scary these first few months, isn't it. Sorry again for crashing in.

Buckfyans · 22/08/2006 19:40

Sheesh...I'm going to have a nervous breakdown. I will check in with you all in weeks all being well!! Hope to see everyone then. x

Buckfyans · 22/08/2006 19:40

I meant to say 6 weeks....see ya...

muminamini · 22/08/2006 20:03

Thanks maazaa - I appreciate that.

I am sorry if I have caused you any more panic Buckyfans.
