Hi everyone. Its been a very long time since I have posted on mumsnet, but today I have found out that I am expecting baby number 2. My ds1 is just over three years old. Bit shocked to be having another baby but very pleased too.
It would be great to get a thread going as people join me with their April 2007 due dates!!
Very nervous as ds1 had group b strep and birth and was v poorly but forewarned is forearmed as they say!
Look forward to chatting with anyone who feels like posting!

Hi all

Sorry shneebly to hear your news, thinking of you.

Muminamini - I am also at that stage of worrying everytime I go to the loo, or feel a moistness down below was the same with ds and didn't bleed with him. I suppose it is all compunded by the fact that I don't know anyone who has had two children without a mc somewhere down the line, i keep thinking 'Can I really be that lucky!'.

I got my scan date through yesterday and it is on 8th Sept, I will only be 8 weeks, thought that a bit early for a 12 week scan although I had only just come off the pill when I conceived so don't know whether they just want to check dates. Am off to the drs on Tuesday as well just to check her opinion on my size. I work in a baby shop and everyone is asking when I'm due - er April?! My friend with twins is convinced I am joining her club, gulp!

As for symptoms mainly extreme tiredness, jelly brain, oversensitivity and a little nausea - although I can feel that growing daily so out have come the sea-bands

Well better get ready for my day.

Hi Ladies,

Shneebly-so sorry to hear your news.

Would like to join you all if that's ok.I got my BFP yesterday which was a total shock as we had only just started ttc-ds took 7 years!

My symptoms so far are also extreme tiredness, sore boobs, weeing loads and a few period type pains.

Very excited but very scared at the same time,as ds is only 14 months old.

Hope everyone is well and not feeling too iffy.

twinkle183 · 20/08/2006 12:39

Hi schneebly.. I am so sorry to hear your news - I know exactley what your going through as I did in March of this year!! My thoughts are with you

Am still feeling bloated!! But apart from that feeling great!! Just the occassional tiredness!

Hope everyone is feeling okay today and welcome to all the newcomers..

EllieK · 20/08/2006 14:04

not feeling too bad today, stinking cold but geting over it now.
MIAM - lazytown is just the best! i make ds watch it just so i can, and we found a website with clips and foreign versions by accident, very funny!

bobblehead · 20/08/2006 17:37

Sorry for what you are going through Scheenbly

I am still feeling tired and sick, but it comes and goes so at least I feel ok some of the time. With dd it was relentless so I keep waiting for it to get worse, but I think its actually easier this time being at home with dd than it was working as at least she sleeps for 2 hrs through the day so I can rest.
Went to a 60th birthday party last night and had to pretend I couldn't drink as I was driving. Think it looked pretty lame as dh only had one glass of wine as he is bodybuilding and drove anyway!

Not sure what to do about sleeping arrangements for dd now as she will be 22 months when baby arrived so not sure when to switch her to a bed. She is not a good sleeper at night so would be scared of her roaming!

Bugmum · 20/08/2006 18:03

bobblehead
I know what you mean: I've got to go to the in-laws' this week and stay over - I shall have to invent some antibiotics so as to excuse not drinking. I'm not even of the school who believes that the odd glass of wine would hurt the baby, but last time I went totally off it until well into the second trimester, and this one seems to be going the same way. Awkward though, isn't it? I hate that people might be thinking that I'm looking a bit fat around the tummy, too

bubbaloo · 20/08/2006 18:23

Bobblehead-Was only wondering what to do about the bed situation.Ds will also be 22 months when this one arrives, but then I thought if we had the new baby in with us(in a travel cot)for a few months,by the time he or she goes into their room,ds will be around 26 months and will hopefully be ready for his first bed.

liath · 20/08/2006 20:09

Hi Bubbaloo - I'm 2Happy's sister! Congratulations .

bubbaloo · 20/08/2006 20:39

Helloooooooooo Liath and congratulations to you too.

emmymummy · 21/08/2006 09:12

Oh my God, got a BFP this morning & reckon due 25th April, although DD (who's 4) was 7 days late, so might slip into May 07. We had only just started ttc so dh thinks he's got super sperm! I knew right away this time so was not a bit surprised by the result, dh is upset it didn't take longer as he just wanted to do lots and lots of ttc!

twinkle183 · 21/08/2006 09:45

Hi MIAM & EllieK - am so glad that someone else thinks that lazytown is just the best!! I think that sportacus is lovely... but my dh doesn't agreed!!!

Feeling okay today - slightly tired but other than that ok! Started feeling alittle sick yesterday.. but I think that cos I ate too many sweets it doesn't seem to like sweet things!

Well hope everyone had a good weekend, take care

Sexonlegs · 21/08/2006 12:27

Hello!! Can I join in? Got a bfp on Wednesday, and am due 28th April, although dd was a week late so could be May!

I have held off posting (and I know this sounds daft), but didn't want to tempt fate.
Also, like many of you have said on here, I am obsessed with knicker checking! I know so many people who have had m/c in between child 1 and 2, and am a little worried. What will be will be I know.

Anyway, hope everyone is well.

hollyhobbie · 21/08/2006 12:54

hi all. I've been feeling SOOOO queasy and been sick twice and so tired, so DD has also been watching a lot of TV. Or rather, her favourite Miffy DVD, so even if we're not watching it, I have the theme tune running round my head!
But just wanted to write because today is a GOOD DAY, and I am energetic and organised and have been a fun mum for DD for the first time in ages.
Wishing you all good days too.
Hx

CornflakeKid · 21/08/2006 17:59

Hello - been hovering - decided to brave it! Due with my third (two boys 3 and 5) on 14 April but have long cycles so probably later. Main points so far (brain in overdrive!)

  1. Look like Jordan
  2. Completely knackered
  3. Wake up everyday with what seems like a hangover
  4. Feel sick as dog in evening
  5. Already considering elective section after one emergency and a vaginal ventouse!
  6. Have gone into squirrell hoarding mode - feel need to buy everything now! (bit of a suprise this one - have sold all baby stuff!)
  7. Found soft cup moulded bra in Sainsburys for £5 - already gone up two cup sizes and feels like engorgment esp when wake up in morning.
  8. Hubbie wants another boy or twins!
  9. There are 8 boys in our family and no girls at all - so the pressure is on! Pink frenzy!
  10. Chances of becomng professional alcoholic now scuppered!

Nice to see lots of others due at same time!

Sexonlegs · 21/08/2006 18:34

Bobblehead and Pinkranger, thank you very much for your welcomes. It is lovely to be here!!

womblingalong · 21/08/2006 20:10

so sorry for you schneebly

sallycinnamon · 21/08/2006 20:14

Congratulations to the new people. I'm going to France tomorrow for 2 weeks. NO cheap plonk. NO lovely gooey cheese. Bummer

blossom2 · 21/08/2006 20:18

I WANT PATE - especially foie gras.

still feeling pretty nausea and sick alot more. spent most of the day sleeping as DH had taken the day off.

its really nice knowing that there are so many of us

IsabellaMoi · 21/08/2006 21:06

A great big welcome to Sexonlegs, Emmymommy and Bubaloo - and any other newcomers I missed.

Is it just me or does it seem that a lot of us are due around April 14th?

Feeling quite nauseated throughout the day and rather tired. I bike to work though, and amazingly, that is manageable and seems to help a little.

Have a great time in France Sallycinnamon!

Bugmum · 21/08/2006 22:56

I have had bleeding today . Not heavy, no repeat (yet) and not red, but I know it can be a precursor to worse. I'm not going to bring the thread down by constant posting about this (I noticed how sensitive Schneebly was, posting most of the details on a separate thread, bless her heart) but I just wanted to tell some people who would understand.

CornflakeKid · 22/08/2006 07:35

Oh Blossom2 you lucky thing! sleep...

Hope the rest of you have a nice day - I'm off to 'at' Bristol with my boys and then Ikea!

CornflakeKid · 22/08/2006 07:36

and Bugmum - big hugs to you - hope everything is okay.
