Hello everyone I finally have internet access back up and running!

I have read through the stats but there is far to much chat since May to catch up on!!

I have moved twice since May and am having to move into rented accommodation for one month and then into our final home - fingers crossed if the sale goes well. We have lost out on 3 houses over the past 2 months - simply no supply and masses of demand, making crazy prices the order of the day.

I have had my 20 week scan and the baby was measuring quite small so I am having to have another scan today at 26 weeks to check things are still going okay. And will then have to have regular growth scans and hearbeat monitoring pretty much like last time, which I was quite upset about but with time have got used to the idea again. I am really hoping that this little one will be heavier than my last baby so we don't have to spend weeks in NICU - so fingers crossed for my scan today.

PS I am having a boy this time, was quite shocked at my 15 week scan in Hong Kong when I saw the extra bits!!

Charlee · 02/08/2006 09:18

Morning all, hope your all having good starts tot he day, im not having the best day today had an argument with DP's car insurence so im a bit peeved.

Apart from that im fine! Bub's is as active as ever started putting its little hands right into my ribs wich is soooooo not comfortable! I had to buy Gaviscon tablets yesteday as my heartburn got so bad, i hate gaviscon but it does help so ho hum!

fatbetty · 02/08/2006 10:22

Sorry to hear that you haven't had that good of a morning. I woke up this morning thinking I would get loads done and was really motivated. Now I can hardly move and feeling really depressed (post-holiday blues?).

Baby moving loads now, especially when I lay on my back. Suppose she doesn't like it when I do that. Still strange to think that I know the sex of the baby, and even stranger when friends refer to the baby as "she"!!

podglet · 02/08/2006 13:32

Hi all,
Good to see you back away from home. Sounds like you have had a couple of stressful months and that you have got to go through lots more check ups - congrats on your little boy though!

Had a bit of a scare today, about 10 am I came over all funny and had a nasty bout of sickness & diarreah (at work , not nice) this was complimeted (rolling eyes emoticon) by contracting pain across bump. Could barely stand up so a colleague brought me home to DP who thankfully has a day off. Cutting short a long story I ended up on the labour ward in a delivery room, extremely frightened. They have checked me and baby out, heartbeat fine but bump tight & cervix slghtly soft. They don't think it is pre term labour but am confined to bed (at home thank goodness) for the rest of the week. Booked to see midwife on Friday for check up (was due my 24 week check anyway)

So, back off to bed (although have just realised that I can take laptop with me!) with DP fussing!

Hope evryone else is ok and those who were poorly are feeling lots better in the cooler weather!

Debz99 · 02/08/2006 14:08

Oh podglet how scarey for you, hope your feeling loads better and take the time to rest up and be made a fuss of !! At least you can sit all day on your laptop and post on MN !!!

FoghornLeghorn · 02/08/2006 14:39

Podglet, make sure you stay in bed and let DP do absolutely everything. How scary for you

Mummy2Toby · 02/08/2006 14:48

Oh podglet - you make sure that you take it easy, how lovely to be waited on though

awayfromhome · 02/08/2006 17:25

Podglet - thanks for the welcome back - but sorry to hear about your day - it must have been very scary.. Get lots of rest and I hope that it goes well on Friday.

podglet · 02/08/2006 17:54

Hi - back on after a snooze. Oddly enough, my midwife popped round today with a letter booking me in for a checkup so she has checked me as well and she doesnt think it is early labour but has said the same as the hosp - to stay where i am and go back in if it gets aby worse.

Still got the pain but it does seem better and more spaced out than earlier. Thanks for the messages I intend to do nothing over the next few days but rest and watch nonsense telly!

Evening all, i hope your day has been plesant.

Podglet sorry to here about your scare keeping my fingers crossed and my thoughts with you that all stays ok.

Fatbetty i know what you mean about feeling great one moment then no so good another, hormones peobably well thats the excuse i give DP anyway! But seriously i hope your feeling a little better tomorrow.

I have cheered up a little after a bad start to the day i managed to sort the car insurence and my landlord says we can keep hens! iv'e always wanted to but always been turned down by the council but now were private we can!

We got our coop and we visted a place where we can rescue battery hens, DS was extatic they let him feed them and thier goats, he was really chuffed it was great to watch.

Well babys been a lazy thing today it is moving but not as much as usual, enough not to be worried by though i guess its just having a chilled out day

Sleep well

Charlee x

awayfromhome · 02/08/2006 20:18

Podglet - glad to hear you are getting plenty of rest and sleep - definitely the best thing that you can do at the moment.

Mygirllolipop - thanks for the message. We went for a growth scan today and it was really quite positive. The baby has now come up into the normal range for gestation and although small is growing normally. Also my blood flow has dramatically improved since the last visit, so things are looking much more positive than they were in my first pregnancy We are really hoping that we can get far enough along and the baby is big enough to avoid the NICU - we will just have to wait and see on that one.

Also got good news on the house our buyer has had his mortgage approved so it is all systems go

Charlee - good luck with the hens - fresh eggs for breakfast sounds very good

saralou100 · 02/08/2006 20:25

hey guys... nice to see you back awayfromhome - and glad you had a nice holiday fatbetty!!

podglet - rest up chick!!

i've started sending abusive messages to my sister, she appears to be holding all my baby stufff hostage!!! she has all baby clothes and moses basket and bouncer etc which i need to sort out and wash and get ready, she's also a 2hr drive away from me!! mum is gonna do as much as she can and deliver it to me, but she can't do anything whilst it's at sisters house!! it's irritating me, cause apparently she has most of it in her kitchen, where her cats can wee all over it if they want (they can and will do this - her cats are evil) so i want it out!!! i figure 1 message per day at the moment to keep reminding her, if no action in a couple of days i will up the ante on her (potential blackmail topics already being considered) i feel i should point out me and sis are the best of mates, she gets my sense of humour so shouldn't take any offense by me!!

awayfromhome · 02/08/2006 21:13

Hi saralou100 - nice to hear from you.. We have a couple of names Ben or Thomas - not quite sure but keep leaning towards Ben, dh prefers Thomas so we shall have to wait and see on that one!!

LadyAnne1stTimeMum · 02/08/2006 21:47

Hi all

Podglet - best do what they say and keep your feet up. I had a rough time of it last night - although not as dramatic as your scare - I had a light pink discharge, lots of cramps and abdominal pains right through the bump which didn't die down. My bump kept feeling really tight and my nausea increased - I also had a strange burning sensation inside it. As I'd still been feeling totally exhausted, despite blood tests suggesting that I wasn't anaemic, I had already booked in to see my doctor today. She was really nice - checked bump thoroughly - invited DP in to hear heartbeat (and hiccups) and decided that baby was fine, but I should rest up for a few days. She signed me off work and wants me to have some more tests first thing tomorrow. Amoungst other things she is querying whether I have a water infection and/or problems with my thyroid (I am still loosing a little weight - Oh the joys of pregnancy (and I still haven't got rid of the cramp in my leg - it's been with me all day). However, it was nice to see my own doctor again as she really doesn't mess about and has a really positive attitude. Anyhow - lets hope no one else in our little November gang falls prey to any more bugs and scares.

See ya all, LA

Hi,

Feeling a bit better this morning although can't seem to keep much down (sorry - tmi). Drinking lots of fluids though Pains have died down but baby not really moving. However, heard a good heart beat yesterday and midwife again tomorow so am sure all will be ok.

LadyAnne - sorry to hear you are having a scare too - you take it easy too. (((hugs)))

Charlee - wow chickens - that's fab. I'd love to do that but we ar estuck in a 2nd floor flat and so a bit impractical! Have got a house rabbit though who is gorgeous!

Hi to everyone else and thank you again for all the lovely msgs. J xxx

saralou100 · 03/08/2006 13:45

hi guys!!!

ladyanne, you rest up too chick!! i guess were all starting to experience the joys of the 3rd trimester (although i'm not quite their yet, it is fast approaching) but were all thinking of you and sending big cyber hugs - to podglet too, glad your a little better today!

ds is currently feeding his lunch to the dog - how do they know what veggies are and that they should refuse them at such a young age... he is literally spitting them out and only eating the meat/pastry of his pie i spent bloody ages making for him... i feel i should just not bother!!!

sister has finally taken some stuff to mums house, apparently she didn't quite make out the sarcasm in my tone via the e-mail, but it had the desired effect so oh well!! just need the rest of the stuff now... i'm an official bitch!!!!

Afternoon ladies

I've had a very bust day so far, i took my nan shopping and then sorted the chickens house out.

We are now the proud owners of 4 beautiful rescued red chooks. We have one each for me, DS, DP and my mum. There called Davina (mine), Hilda (mums), Chook (DS) and DP's naming his after work. There lovley little things i cant wait until they settle in and we can let them run free in the garden.

Bump is ok, got a bit worried as it decided not to make any movements at all untill about 11am but now its kicking away merrily.
Getting what seems like more and more stretchmarks by the day but hey i figure its worth it!

I hope all you porley girls are resting up and keeping those babies nice and safe.

I am going to apply for the 'Sure start maternity grant' next time i see my midwife, hopefully we should get it as were on tax credits then im going to buy everything i need for bubbs out of it, we got rid of all ds's stuff when we moved to New Zealand so we need it all again. My sister is giving us here moses basket and depending on the sex a few bits of clothes but we need everything else.

Im not seeing my midwife untill the 28th Aug when im 28 weeks to have my anti D injection as im reshus neg blood type.

Anyway i hope your all having a good day and feeling well.
