my baby was really active yesterday worst/best it been. He is very quiet today though !!!

saralou100 · 27/07/2006 17:50

like the idea of the prediction thingy.... i'm gonna say born late (i never do anything early or on time) maybe 6 days late and will be heavier than ds around 8lb 4oz.... i'm also gonna guess that this is a boy (as we don't know flavour) but i did cheat the other day, saw a colleague who used to be madwife she listened to the heartbeat and this is her prediction.. heartbeat was around the 120 mark and definitely sounded train like... i've been thinking boy recently anyway so this kinda confirmed my thoughts iykwim!!

hi everyone, havnt been on for a while just been trying to rest on the sofa as it is far too hot!

iv been getting sooooooo bored and dd is doing her nut but i just cant get out and about. tonight dp is out at a dinner with his company for winning employee of the year (and recieving the £1000 that came with it)! so im left on my own and stupidly decided to wash up (luckily didnt faint this time) and clean the oven (?) and now have pains in my belly, feels like stretching so not too worried, and he's still moving so i dont mind!

charlee, if you've still got my email please email me, iv acctually missed our chats, cant believe how big your ds and my dd are getting now, shes such a little madam! lol

thanks for all you're concern everyone, i feel a lot better now!

got a wedding to go to tomo and brought dd a really pretty party dress from choice which is a next 'seconds' store for £5, i couldnt believe how cheap it was, and it is beautiful! so she'll look lovely and take some of the attention away from me looking like a lump! lol

best go really, need a cool bath as my feet are swelling fast and thats the only thing that helps.

oh a quick prediction, i predict that we will have a boy! lol, he'll be 7lb 8oz and will be born on the 2nd of nov! dd was 6lb 14oz born 9 days early (im acctually due 13th whereas the stats list says 11th!)

harrogatemum · 28/07/2006 09:20

oh I like the prediction thingy! I predict that baby will be late so perhaps 30th November weighing 7lb 5oz....had to be induced with twins so this one is bound to want to stay inside too!

Hope everyone is ok!!!

Bethbe · 28/07/2006 09:23

Hello again,

Soz have not posted for a while, but had no connection, and then was in Rhodes (same time as you Podglet - wasn't it HOT)!

Pregnancy going really well luckily, but sorry to hear some of you are suffering. Take comfort in the saying 'tough pregnancy - easy birth'.

Can anyone remind me what the heartbeat rule is. LO comes in at 140, but hospital has 'ethical' reasons for not telling. Funny that you can pay them £125 and they'll tell you though!

Hope you're enjoying a rest from the heat.......

Debz99 · 28/07/2006 10:00

Hi
Not sure what the rules are with heartbeats but my LO was 142 and I'm having a boy !

HopingCat · 28/07/2006 10:18

My understanding of the heartbeat thing is that 139 or below is a boy and 140 upwards is a girl. This is clearly not too reliable though, as Debz has just proved! Generally people say a faster heartbeat sounding like a horse galloping is a girl. Has anyone found this to be true though? For those who know the flavour, what did your baby's heartbeat sound like at last mw appointment?

podglet · 28/07/2006 10:44

Hi all,

Bethbe - wasn't it just??? We were in Pefkos - where were you? Loved Rhodes, so pretty. They tried to make us go up to the Acropolie in Lindos but the only way up was on a donkey and I thought that was too much like the nativity scene!!!

Haven't been told the heart beat rate so can't even try and guess the flavour from that. There still isn't one person who has guessed boy though!

Stacey - good to hear you are feeling a bit better - how much longer til the big day?

Bethbe · 28/07/2006 11:15

Perhaps we could add the heartbeat to the stats, see if there's a trend. Who knows we might get our study published and become famous?

Podglet, I was in Lindos, - couldn't get up the acropolis - too much enery involved, or too much donkey. You're right it was very pretty - wish I was there now (but in the shade)!

I'll add my stats shortly........

Mummy2Toby · 28/07/2006 11:17

morning everyone - well my prediction is a girl, 7lbs 10oz and born on 25th October! ds was 10 days late but I have heard that girls are more likely to come early so here's hoping.
Stacey - glad you are feeling better, I fainted last week as well - in the garden trying to hang some washing out we really should get dp's & dh's to do more although the chance would be a fine thing
I am soooo excited - am having the 3d scan today at 2:30 - can't wait, I will then know for deffinite if bubba is a girl but I am quite sure - will let you all know when I get back.

Stacey, please emial me i wiped all my contacts by accident but i did enjoy chatting to you.

[email protected]

Baba's active again today hoping to be induced so i can have my epidural, but if they dont let me im predicting a boy on the 25th Nov wieghing 7lb 5oz.

my mum says deffo girl!

We will see

Heart beat varies sometimes fast sometimes slower so thats not alot of help unless its going to be half/half

FoghornLeghorn · 28/07/2006 13:46

I like the prediction idea.
I'm going for girl again, born either 6th or 11th November (her Granddad or Dad's birthday) weighing 8lb 6oz.

HopingCat · 28/07/2006 13:51

Hi all,

Hope everyone is ok. I've been having a cruise round different mn antenatel threads, and discovered that 2 people on the due Sept thread have had their babies already! Both born very early and still in hospital but they are doing well. It makes it a bit more real though. We're moving fast into the third trimester, and we'll be meeting our own in a few months time! Wow.

Charlee · 28/07/2006 16:13

I know what you mean about it seeming real now.
After having all my m/c's i honestly refused to believe i was pg until i felt deffinate movements i kept saying to DP 'dont get your hopes up it will probably end the same as the others' but touch wood all is going well.

I feel so stupid though i am absolutly crapping myself about giving birth to this one i didnt even think about it with DS but i keep having night time terrors and panick attacks.

HopingCat · 28/07/2006 17:14

Charlee - are you worried because of a bad experience last time? I like to read some of the birth stories on mn and it seems that even people who have had horrific births often think it is worth it in the end and say they would have another baby in the future. I just keep thinking that if women keep putting themselves through it then it must be worth it! Maybe I'm just trying to stop myself from panicking.

Charlee · 28/07/2006 18:13

Thats the silly thing Hopingcat i didnt have a to abd time, i was induced with a pessary at 9pm went to sleep woke at 11pm with mild contractions went onto the labour ward at 8am and DS was born at 3pm. I had gas and air which made me extreamly sick, i was fine after an epidural.

I did fine it unbearable before the epidural though but i was so out of it on gas and air i hardly remeber, i think that was the worst part feeling so out of control.
Im sure i will be fine if im allowed my induction and epidural im just worrying incase my dr's say no.

I know it will be worth it 100% i feel a bit stupid to be honest, i didnt have a traumatic last labour but i cant help thinking about it and panicking!

NatalieJane · 29/07/2006 10:37

Morning girls

I am still feeling poorly, can't seem to shake it off, I am sat here with PJ'S and a dressing gown on, and my quilt wrapped round me, DH thinks I am bonkers! I say anything to keep warm!!

Charlee, I know exactly where you are coming from, I also didn't have the worst labour experience, but I was induced and once the labour started it was just so intense and I was completely out of it on gas and air, the epidural didn't kick in until after I had had him, even now, I don't remember important things, like when my waters broke, or anything I did or said, I am hoping this labour goes one of two ways, either I go that quick that we don't even get to the hospital, or that it is nice and slow and relaxed (well as relaxed as it can be!!) so I have time to adjust my brain and get the epidural in!!! LOL

Sorry I haven't really caught up with the rest of the thread, but I am going to get back into bed, DH has just changed all the sheets and covers for me I love that man!!

Hope everyone is doing OK Have a good weekend xxx

Charlee · 29/07/2006 16:01

NatalieJane · 30/07/2006 17:33

Hello

I am still laid up, starting to get annoyed now, you kind of get used to feeling like death warmed up, but now I am just fed up of the coughing, pain, chills, sweats etc. I am back to coping with DS on my own again tomorrow, DH can't take any time off work, so no doubt it will be another day in front of CBeebies for DS!

Will catch up properly when I can, hope all is well xxx

saralou100 · 30/07/2006 19:36

hi guys... i'm busy avoiding work at the moment, thought i'd catch up with you guys, but we are being quiet this weekend!! i'm thinking it's perhaps to do with the summer holidays!!!

i've been a busy bunny myself with the dreaded mil staying all week am still sorting out the chaos she left behind.... in her wisdom she decided to take ds to the beach from 9am and got home at nearly 5o'clock that evening, i was at work so could do nothing about it, and so my beutiful blonde haired, blue eyed, fair skinned ds spent 3days recovering from heat exhaustion with temps spiking over 40 degrees and still has the heat rash all over... so angry at her and dp, do they not have any sense... dp's defence is that they had him in the shade most of the day but he still overheated, aaaaarrrgggghhhh!!! still i believe she had a lovely 'holiday'... treated my house like a hotel, never even offered me help, just created more work!!! rant over!!

have managed to sell my pushchair this weekend, which i'm really pleased about, ds is coming on leaps and bounds with this walking thing, so i'm waiting a bit longer to see if i neeed the double pushchair... luckily the girl i've sold it to is due 4 days before me so she's not in any rush for it!! also dp got backpay where his work f**d up last month, which meant we struggled all month but he got enough money for me to put some aside for when bubba gets here, so money is going well at the moment

anyway, i think thats long enough on here now... hope all the poorly people start feeling better very very soon

charlee, sorry about your dog, it's my worst nightmare scenario with my dog, i love him so much i just don't know what i would do if put in that situation (repeatedly knocking on wood right now)
