calsworld · 24/07/2006 17:17

Hello all, its been a while but I've been reading just not had time to catch up properly....

I'm sooo much better than I have been, all the morning sickness went away at 16 weeks so now at 21, I've had quite an easy ride....

I had my second scan today to check up on LO, we want to have a surprise so don't know what flavour LO is....due date still stands at 1st Dec so I'll amend the list...

We had a weeks holiday last week, staying at the in-laws house whilst they went on holiday, it was just like being in a private villa abroad somewhere as house is v remote and weather couldn't have been better!

Have done no shopping or anything yet, guess with all the messing about with AD's etc, I really wanted to make sure everything was OK...and I've only just got my blood test results back today too from my week 16 confirming low risk of DS etc...so my sister is coming to visit with her car loaded up with bits and we're going to visit some friends who are desperate to unload all their stuff too...I think we're going to end up with too much!! Oh well - with both sets of parents living a long way away, we can pass any duplicates on so that we don't have to travel as much....

Lovely to hear you're all doing so well and long may the summer continue....

Oh - and re movements etc - I felt the first kick on June 26th - my dad's birthday, but then nothing for a while, then for the last two weeks, regular movements every day, either low down on the left hand side or today, high up near my tummy button...baby had head on left of tummy button at scan with bottom central over pelvis and legs folded up in front of face - doesn't take after me for flexibility . DH desperately wants to feel it but I've got quite a bit of padding so think it may take a while yet !

I'm waffling...sorry...just excited!!

DebbsyandBibby · 25/07/2006 04:55

hi all cant sleep bibby awake this morning.
calsworld so glad your scan went well
nj did you find out the flavour at yours?
stacey you poor thing you are having a time of it arent you ((((((hugs)))))))
hello everyone else xx

podglet · 25/07/2006 08:19

Hi all,

Debbsy, I was up at the same time as you this morning for the same reason, LO decided that 4 am was a perfect time for some gymnastics!

Hi Calsworld, glad all ok, my DP is desperate to start feeling baby move too but I too have extra padding so think it might be a couple of weeks yet!

Stacey - poor old you, you are having a rough time aren't you? Really pleased to hear that the dress had arrived though. Hope you are feeling better now and try and take it easy (I know, difficult with wedding v soon!)

Hope everyone else is ok and not melting too badly - I am actually enjoying being back at work with the air con going full blast!

HopingCat · 25/07/2006 12:45

Hi,

Now that we're all past half way (I think?) is everyone counting down to due date rather than counting up? I'm 15 weeks to go now when people ask me, rather than 25 weeks gone. It could be less I suppose, as I was born 3 weeks early, but I don't want to get my hopes up like that too early!

So who we think will be the first? Does anyone have a history of having early babies?

We could run a kind of sweepstake! Each of us could say now when we think our own LO will arrive, and see if anyone is actually right!

Charlee · 25/07/2006 13:53

Hi! Yes i am the old 'Charlee Peters' i just shortend it to plain old Charlee!

Congratulations to everyone who came over from the ttc thread i was on i do remember you all, and congrats to everyone else aswel!

Im feeling like cr*p today to be blunt. DS has decided that come 10.00 everynight he will wake up and be on some sort of high?? he's running around screaming shouting as if hes just woken up in the morning, come 2.00am i was in tears as im also suffering from bad SPD and cant get comfortable day or night so i am sooooo tired!

Im seeing my midwife tomorrow so i will talk to her, i had SPD with DS at the very very end and the hospitals and g.p did f all about it except give me a phisyo appointment for 6 weeks after i was due, hopefully since its earlier on this time maybe i can pursuade them to try and do something about it if you can?

God sorry for moaning. I hope everyone else is doing well, the joys of pregnancy aye!

CattyB · 25/07/2006 15:52

Hi guys and welcome Charlee.

Way too hot today - garden thermometer says 36.9 degress!! And muggy with it... oh well here hoping the thunder comes soon - defin before the weekend - DH is doing a 100k mountain bike race and we are all going camping with him. Never camped when I was 6 months pg never mind with 3 kids in tow - hope its fun?! Anyone got any tips?

Starting to get extra stressed about the house not selling - went fixed price last week and taken 5k off the price this week but still no takers. Move 5 weeks on friday - don't know what we'll do....

On a more positive note I'll officially be 6 mounths pg on thurs and baby is becoming more and more active. Its lovely to feel "him" wriggling about. Started knitting a wee cardi - not much of a knitter but have knitted one cardi for each of my previous so better get my finger out if I'm to get this finished for smidge - I really am that crap

HopingCat · 25/07/2006 16:35

Catty - I don't knit myself but I've got one friend very excitedly knitting for me. It's nice to have personal clothes like that. I am sewing a Beatrix Potter birth sampler for the baby, which I'm intending to frame and put on the nursery wall. However, I don't think I'll have the picture done at this rate, and I'll have to wait until after the birth to put the name and weight on, so goodness knows when it will finally be finished!

podglet · 25/07/2006 19:32

Charlee - that does not sound like fun - is the heat waking him up? Hope he settles soon and fingers crossed for the appointment with midwife, hope she can recommend or suggest treatment for you.

My mum & my gran are busy knitting and my Aunty is making a cot quilt - have a very arty/crafty family (did not inherit this gene myself, can barely sew buttons on) so looking forward to some lovely personal things

On from HopingCat's idea, I am going to guess 9lb 4oz (neither family does small babies) born on 20th November...

CattyB · 25/07/2006 19:58

Forgot about that idea I'll go for 9lb 14oz born on the 5th Nov - although I keep telling the boys it will be a Halloween baby... My birthing noise should keep the guisers away from the house if it is!!

Hope you have a better night tonight Charlee - if not I'm all in favour of doping small folk up with medised (never worked me any of mine), piriton or benylin children's night time. Know its not a very pc solution but it has worked for me in the past when bedtime routines have gone haywire. Too bad us big folk can't be knocked out the same way really.

LadyAnne1stTimeMum · 25/07/2006 20:52

Hi all - just got back from a short break (sweltering in the car - we took loads of water with us - it was almost boiling point when we returned home! Looks like storm is due - it's gone overcast and both myself and DH have developed pressure headaches (walking barometers - the pair of us). Baby is moving a little - but not as much as when we were in a Pizza Hut on Sunday - baby seemed to be 'getting on down' big time to an interesting selection of 80's and 90's dance hits...kept kicking me in the pelvis though - always does when I sit down to eat.

Well done to all those preparing to knit... although I can do a little - I don't think I'll bother as I am notorious for never finishing s project - and with about thirty cardi's in various sizes and colours already in my possession - don't think I've got any more room!.

Hope the heat and storms don't disrupt our sleep... and thanks Saralou for sorting us out with a new thread

All the best to all
LA

MeAndMyBoy · 25/07/2006 23:17

Hi ladies, probably the last time I am going to get a chance to post for a couple of weeks. I'm leaving work tomorrow and then 5.50am thursday we are going on our hols for a bit.

Just found out today that I need a doc's note for when I fly back - don't know what made me check with the airline again, checked when we booked the holiday, but they have now said that yes I will need a letter. So scared he's going to say no.

Hope everyone copes in the heat over the next few days.

Stacey good luck with your wedding plans - hope it all goes well, take care of yourself and no more fallin over hun.

Charlee welcome and hello again - did you get to emigrate? I was on the TTC thread with you stacey and Debbsy - but as harrizeb. Take care and hope that you figure something out to keep DS asleep for you.

Fingers crossed for everyone having scans hope they all go well.

Take care all and I'll see you when I get back.

fostermum · 26/07/2006 11:05

Hi everyone!

Meandmyboy - yes we did go to NewZealand but while we were out there my mum got seriously ill and we decided to come home. shes okish now though.

I had a slightly better night DS slept at least, i slept on the floor i just cannot get comfortable in a bed but i had the same thing with my last pg.
I have been really tearfull this morning the baby wasnt moving and didnt move all night so i was getting worried but i had an ice lolly which seems to have woken it up but i think its moved and kicking into my back which is harder to feel. Im seeing the midwife at 3.00pm so she will listen in to make sure everythings ok.

I have recruted my mum and DP's nan to knit for me as im completly useless when it comes to knitting or sewing of any kind.

Hope everyone has a good day x

HopingCat · 26/07/2006 12:32

fostermum - I know how you feel about worrying about the baby when it doesn't move. Mine has been kicking mainly inward for the last few days and the kicks are a lot less obvious. I might try the ice lolly thing. I know babies sometimes turn over if you lie on your side (this worked when I had my last scan and the baby was the wrong way up for the scan to show the spine). Maybe try this if you get worried again.
Hope your midwife appointment goes well.

NatalieJane · 26/07/2006 13:18

Hello everyone

Sorry I haven't had chance to catch up properly, I have a cold which is quickly turning into glandular fever, so am feeling very sorry for myself, partly because I am feeling crappy, and partly because I know it is going to get a lot worse before it gets better!! Poor DS is going round the bend, while I am led on the sofa doing anything to cool down, at least it isn't as hot outside today, don't know how I would cope feeling feverish and dealing with the sort of temperatures we saw last week!

On a brighter note, all of the nursery stuff (bedding, curtains, nappy stacker etc.) arrived on Monday, I can't wait to get it all in the room, but will have to wait till the room is plastered and decorated, also we have to change the carpet, the skirting boards (there were fitted wardrobes in the room and the skirting was cut around them) and put a new ceiling up (old one has marks from the fitted wardrobes and is covered in god only knows how many layers of wallpaper/paint, so it will just be easier to put a new one up) hopefully by the end of August/start of September we should be able to get all the furniture and things up there - and out of my dining room, it is driving me mad! And then all we will have left to do is get a few more clothes and the travel system.

Sorry for going on, again!! The couple of things I did see down the thread were Debbsy, we are having another little boy And I think the baby will be born late, I was induced with DS because he was late, so I will say the 2nd December (also it is our wedding anniversary so it would be typical for it to be then) and going off DS's weight (7lb 15oz) and the size of me now, I would say maybe 8lb 9oz. Should we add our own guesses to the stats list? Else we will all loose track of them when the time comes. Will add mine anyway!

oh sorry i posted under my mums name earlier (fostermum) It was me Charlee, she logs herself in and i forget to change the chat name over to mine! sorry!

HopingCat · 26/07/2006 14:09

Charlee - I assumed it was you and you'd changed your name.

NJ - sorry you aren't well, and I hope the temperatures stay down for you so you can get enough rest and be comfy.

I have no idea how to predict birth weight or date so will have to go for a complete guess. I was early so I think this LO could be early, but as a first baby probably not very. So I'll predict 4th Nov and weighing about 7lb 12.

I've added people's predictions on.

FoghornLeghorn · 26/07/2006 14:12

Hi All, Charlee, I remember you too We share the same EDD this time.
I am more and more sure I am having a girl again. Was looking this morning on the internet of other scan pictures taken at 21 weeks like mine was, some pointed out whether they were boy or girl babies and mine defo looked like a girl.
The heat is killing me today, am sweating buckets and its not even sunny, just muggy and hot. DD has her paddling pool in the garden and is tearing down her slide into it, wish I could do that!

Debz99 · 26/07/2006 14:36

Hello ladies

Been away from computer for a few days, this heat is unbearable and I'm stuck in a stuffy office where we cant open the windows cos we cant hear people on the phones due to the traffic !

Went for my third scan, got some picture and all is ok definately having a boy she showed me his bit and pieces this time LOL ! he is weighing in at approx 821 gms my estimation is that's just over a pound and a half please correct me if i'm wrong !!!

Dp could feel baby kicking at the weekend he was well pleased !!!

Debz99 · 26/07/2006 14:36

Sorry how rude, Hello Charlee !

Charlee · 26/07/2006 20:46

Hi all, my midwifes appointment went well, bubba's fine its moved and is laying with it's back down towards the birth canal kicking its legs into my ribs and back! little monkey!

She's booking me a physio appointment for my carpal tunnel syndrome although she did say if it got to bad to see the g.p as an appointment could take a while.

I also asked her about the possibilities of being induced again, im taking a daily dose of Clexaine (form of heperin) as i have a blood clotting disorder, if i have it within 24hrs of going into labour i cant have an epidural and i really want one if i have time i was useles without it last time, shes going to speak with my dr see what she can do. if im induced i know to stop taking it before i go in.

Sad news our dog that we got 2 days ago is having to return to his old owners, he bit DS this evening and left him with 2 puncture wounds below hi's eye so after mopping up the blood and checking DS was covered for tetnus i rang his old owners up and asked them to come get him so tomorrow hes going, poor DS he only walked past the chair the dog was on and the dog snapped, DS loves dog's he cant understand why the dog doesnt want loves hes only 22 months bless him. luckily he's ok if the bite had been a few mm up it would have got his eye.

CattyB · 26/07/2006 22:11

HopingCat - thanks for adding pedictions to the list.
NJ - hope you get over the worst of your illness soon. At the risk of sounding really patronising remember to drink loads, wash your hands loads and use it as a top excuse to scoff bucketfuls of ice-cream.
Charlee - sorry to hear about your dog thank goodness your DS is ok it must have been pretty scary for him - hopefully it won't put him off. Also glad he's sleeping better.
I had pretty bad spd in my 2nd pg (1st time I was only sore in the last month or so but 2nd time from less than 10 weeks gone) but saw an osteopath a couple of times after the birth and was fine last time and so far this time although I do have sore hips. I remember how sore it was and how impossible it was to get comfy in bed even with a million pillows tucked every which way. Hope you get a decent(ish) sleep tonight.
MAMB - have a lovely holiday.

Charlee · 27/07/2006 13:31

Hi everyone, i hope all your days are ok, i slept a little better last night.

Having a rollercoaster of emotions today one minute i feel fine the next im blubbing over nothing poor DS and DP!

feeling loads of legs in my ribs which isnt to comfortable but at least i know bubba's ok all the time its moving around.

Debz99 · 27/07/2006 14:02

Hello all !

I on the other hand Charlee had a bad sleep last night was far too hot, kept getting up for a wee and at 3 this morning was woken up feeling dizzy !!!!! very bizarre sat myself in front of the fan for a bit and felt ok, think my blood pressure may be playing up a bit.

saralou100 · 27/07/2006 15:37

i also had crap night... ds has a tempreture which kept him up from 1 am till gone 3 am, then i couldn't sleep 'cause i was worrying about him........ i'm shattered today! the mil has finally left though!!

HopingCat · 27/07/2006 16:20

I hope you all start getting some sleep soon. It must be hard having other children to look after as well as being pregnant.

I have been feeling kicks for weeks now, but I think today I felt a somersault! It was very odd, and not comfortable. I could definitely feel either a head or a bottom sticking out of one side of my belly. The baby (who is known as pod in our house) is having the most active afternoon I can ever remember. Don't know what has triggered it.

Those of you up in Scotland, I'm in Edinburgh for a few days next week. Is it still very hot up there or do you think it's about to change?
