Have a great day Stacey

Im fine today pains have gone off for now, they were getting really painfull there for a while last night!
Baby is moving as much as it can bless it i swear it's stuck like the m/w said im getting alot of legs in my hip area which is so uncomfortable! I also have a perfect bottom shape sticking out just next to my belly button!

podglet · 26/08/2006 18:05

Hope you have a wonderful day Stacey

Debz - I have abelt now too! Physio gave me one yesterday (1st appointment, I was v pleased) She found I do have SPD as well as my usual back pain being made worse by the change in weight and the extra relaxin hormone. Mine looks like a spider, big support at the back, then all the "legs" velcro up around the bottom of the bump. This means it digs into the top of my legs and sitting down is a PITA! However, it is very supportive and doesn't pull my knickers down so I will put up with it for as long as I can!

Hospitl bag - am going with the 2 bag thing, one for baby, one for me. My best friend (she is going to be there with DP) is in charge of snacks / drinks as her mum makes the best flapjacks!

Hope everyone is ok, have a good BH weekend

MeAndMyBoy · 26/08/2006 20:23

Hi Ladies,

Stacey - I've been thinking about you today, hope to you've had a lovely lovely day and I'm sure you looked gorgeous .

Mygirl - liquid iron - Boots - it's called spatone personally think it tastes vile but hey doesn't make you constipated and it does work - actually I have a nearly full box that you are welcome to if you'd like it? if you are taking Iron make sure you take it with vitamin c as well so either drink fresh oj with it or ribena I used and or wholemeal bread both of which help you absorb much more iron from the tablets.

I'm very impressed with the hospital bag lists - not even thought about it yet i have to admit - after reading the lists yesterday Dh and I have decided end of sept and we'll start thinking about packing bags etc - will probably do the 2 or 3 bag option - 1 for labour and delivery and then one for in hospital/coming home. Taking food is definately a good idea - but remember that you have I wasn't fed after DS was born and I'm sure that contributed to me passing out a couple of hours later, but had spent the early part of my labour in the kitchen making a mountain of sandwiches which I found that evening while rooting thorough my bag. Doh!

I have been having huge amounts of BH's some painful some not - but it's been going on for weeks, I don't remember getting many with DS but have noticed them much more this time. My tummy button popped weeks ago as well - I'm keeping quiet about stretch marks though.

We've got names sorted - Sophie Rose or Sam George.

Lo is such a fidget - DS nick name was wriggle and boy did he, but this one fidgets even more. Was up for several hours last night because I couldn't settle it was kicking and squirming so much think it was about 3.30 before it finally gave up and went to sleep. Doesn't bode well for it being much of a sleeper when it get here me thinks.

Right have a great bank holiday and talk to you in a couple of days.

H x

I was nearly in hospital ysterday i think i over did the houseowrk and by about 5pm i was in agony with BH's and back pain but luckily they died down after 3-4 hrs.

Im ok today though taking it a bit easier!
Still no bellybutton popping nearly but not quite, i don;t think mines designed to pop!

My stomach feels really tight like it literally can't get any bigger LO still not moved position so im still getting legs in my hips! better than in the ribs though.

Im waiting for the sure start grant to come through then im dragging dp put for an all out shopping day to get everything! Except clothes which i have a ton of Im sure dp will really enjoy that he hates shopping

I hope we here from Stacey in a few days telling us how wonderfull her wedding was!

Hey everyone
Congratulations Stacey, hope everything went well yesterday i was thinking of you.
I'm really exited this weekend as we have started painting the nursery, hopefully all the furniture will be built and we can put everything in it's place tomorrow! I don't know whether i'm more exited at the thought of a finished nursery or not having to live around boxes of flat packed furniture
My belly button is still holding on by a thread, dh checks it everyday.
Now for one of those novice questions BH do you get them through the whole bump every time or can you get certain bits of the bump tightening more than others? i'm not sure what to be expecting and then not sure what i'm experiencing.

velcrobott · 27/08/2006 17:32

Spinach I wasn't doubting your reasons... just asking as you had been saying from conception you'd have a section so I had assumed there was something serious

Charleesunnysunsun · 27/08/2006 17:57

Delia - I sometimes get BH's through the whole bump but the painfull ones are right down low when it goes super tight!

Delia · 27/08/2006 18:30

thanks charlee, i seem to get one sided tightning which is why i was asking! sometimes it is the lower or upper part of my bump and sometimes it's the left or right. Had a few throughout the whole thing that were most uncomfortable but was not sure if they were all the same thing.

NatalieJane · 27/08/2006 18:39

So much to catch up on, have only been away for a couple of days!!

No belly button popping out here, it didn't with DS either, in fact my mums never popped (with five kids) and none of my sisters who hve so far had babies have popped either!

LadyAnne, house moves are always a PITA, at least the worst of it is over now! We have a cat as well, she is very friendly, but certainly not a lap cat, so we aren't too worried about anything kicking off when the baby comes home, the cat has never been allowed up stairs, and is always shut in the kitchen at night (with her cat flap to the garden) I think we will be fine, she is way too lazy to be even the slightest bit interested in anything, not even a new born baby!!

LOL Saralou Tiger cub he wasn't!! Just had very long nails, I didn't feel it at all, was a bit more concerned about the baby that was coming out than what was going on inside!!

Charlee, I know what you mean about the BH, I never got any with DS, I was induced at 40+5 so I never actually had one 'natural' contraction (BH or not) but this time I have had at least a couple a day since I was about 17 weeks, now probably twice a week I have a bout of them over a few hours that almost mimick the start of labour, getting stronger and closer together but then eventually fading, although, they have never made me actually panick so I think my body must realise it isn't for real!! And I hope dinner went down well

MyGirl, as I said, the BH don't make me panick, but I do have to stop what ever I am doing until it passes.

Delia, I agree, the BH's that stretch across my whole belly aren't so strong, it is the low down ones that hurt.

Phew I think that is all of the catching up except to also add my best wishes to Stacey for yesterday!

We have been doing the rest of the baby shopping this weekend, am now down to the last few things for the hospital bag and a couple of other things, still haven't actually ordered a travel system, but it is in the very near future!! If anyone is interested, Babies 'R' Us have a really good offer on at the moment, it is an Avent baby box, it has got an electric steriliser, breast pump, a load of bottles and teats, trainer cups, dummies, and other things, all for £40, I don't know if they have them in the stores, but it is on line, it is perfect for anyone hoping to BF and express later on.

DH is off work till Wednesday, so won't be on much till then, hope every one has a good BH tomorrow, and try and take it easy with all of the decorating!! TC xxx

Mummy2Toby · 27/08/2006 20:28

Hi all - stacey all my thought were with you yesterday, brought back memories of my wedding day
Talking of BH, I thought that I was going into labour Friday night, I had a really bad back ache and strong BH, which stopped me sleeping for a while (think it might have been the thought of only being 31 weeks though because real labour didn't keep me awake until later on!) and when I woke up on Saturday morning I really felt like I was due on IYSWIM and all together with a feeling that I was going into labour - I wasn't of course but I think it is a sign for me to start to slow down a little and actually get dh to do something - hope everyone else is okay, speak soon.

NatalieJane · 28/08/2006 07:56

We have done it, finally! We ordered the travel system last night, we decided on a Quinny Buzz, which I absolutely hated and refused to even consider until I got roped into it by a pushy saleswoman!! But once I tried pushing it, and felt how light it is, I just fell in love!! We saw it again yesterday and if the shop would have had the right colour in stock we would have bought it there and then, but then I am glad we didn't, we came home had a look around on the internet, and found it at Glasgow Pram Centre, we got the pushchair, carseat, carrycot, all the footmuffs and raincovers, and the shopping basket for £485, when it would have been £600 in the shop, so we are pleased with our bargain!! And with it having the carrycot, we won't need to buy a travel cot for a while, so we can put that cost off the list for now!

...Just got to wait till maybe Thursday, probably Friday for it to be delivered now, it is so exciting!!

Have a good day everyone

Actually before I go, is anyone else getting a really tight feeling at the top of their bump? From the top of my belly button up to just under my boobs, I can virtually make out every body part and it is so tight, it feels like it is going to split, it is making me feel quite sick every now and then, as though there is presure on something... yukky feeling! Am I just wierd?! I don't remember the feeling with DS...

NJ - Have the opposite! I can make out every body part below my belly button!
The midwife said it's laying with its head tucked down near my left hip then its sideways with it's belly up towards my boobs and its legs sticking out by my other hip a very awkward position! I get some very big angry kicks where the midwife says it's trying to turn but can't becuase its getting to big poor thing! I get little fists sticking out the top of my bump!

Im going to start a thread in a minute for people to recomend brands of baby items that im going to be getting, breast pumps, bottles and sterilisers ect. I had a NAM breast pump with DS and it was rubbish so i figure i would get an opinion poll on different things i have on my list to buy.

Have a good day all

saralou100 · 28/08/2006 13:50

hi ladies!!!!!!!

i've lost track, how many weeks pregnant am i? my brain appears to have gone into meltdown these last few days, i know nothing and cannot retain any information... in fact who the hell am i !!! help me... aaarrrggghhh!!!!

pushchairs have been occupying any brain space available last few days, don't know what to do... to double buggy or not, this is my question.. ds only started walking properly in the last month and is happy to walk everywhere, but obviously being only 18 months it's very slow and not far... would he stand on a buggy board? the double that i would like is a phill and teds but i'm starting to consider the money issue, i have it saved but i could use it for something else iyswim... the girl who was gonna buy my pushchair has decided she doesn't want it now and i just can't be bothered with the hassle of it, which is also why i'm thinking buggy board... don't know... help me.....aaarrrggghh!!

i don't need to buy anything else for beanie as i've got all ds's stuff back now... i had managed to get spare room into an organised tidy place, bt now it's been taken over again by stuff... scary how much their is... 3 black bin liners with clothes up to 6 months old... moses basket, play gym, swing, seat, bath seat bouncers... why do such small things have so much, i just got rid of all this, now it's come back and i've got all ds's stuff too!!!! i needa bigger house, or even a mansion i think might do it!!!!

was bored at work yesterday so i got the doppla out to listen to baby's heartbeat, this childs a fidget, it would not stay still to let me count, i'm getting lots of legs in the ribs now though!! i only get small bh, bump feels tight all over, they don't stop me from doing anything, just feels weird..

i'm going away now, waffling again seem to be writing essays lately

oh yeah, charlee i used avent pump which i loved!! it was my best friend for a few weeks (i refused to put ds on the breast after 2 weeks, but guilt made me express religiously till he was 8 weeks, after which he went onto formula) it was comfy and easy to use once you got the hang of it... i help women to bf and express at work and we use avent too... easy to use as i said from their point of view...

DebbsyandBibby · 28/08/2006 15:41

Hello all does anyone fancy being an agony aunty? to me today feeling very down and low Huge row with dh and mother in law!!!
ill start by telling you the story i met my dh 14 yrs ago and in that time he has taken part in a motocross sport which takes him away alot of the weekends he enters into championships and is very good at what he does.Sometimes before i was pg i didnt go with him as his mum and dad go all the time and are very heavily involved in this sport ( so much me and mil clash on a regular basis)as they phone up every friday nite after the tmx has come out to tell him whats on at the weekend and where they can go.Whilst im pg though in order to spend time with dh i go with them all,and have asking them for sometime whats going to happen next year? When the baby is here? as its quite a cramped van and caravan and we are all a bit on top of each other, and even though his parents do their best as in cooking my favourite meal looking after the dogs i still feel such animosity towards them at times.Dh and I discussed next year and dh said he would only do these championships which equates to 14 rounds from march -november but he wasnt definetly decided as me and our son come first!!
What a joke his mother took it upon herself yesterday to tell all and sundry that he was doing these championships next year (even though we havent decided and i think its not unreasonable of me to request next year is a year of no racing whilst our son is a baby. This has lead to a huge row where i stormed off today and drove the 2 hrs home fuming as mil said i wont be happy until he packs it in and im always moaning,i lost my temper with her as i feel ive given my dh an awful lot of commitment to his racing and told her she didnt care about anything else but getting him on the bike, not even our baby mattered as she never rings ups and asks if im ok its always ringing up about a meeting or something to do with the bike. She told me that i was vile and we both said some rather choice words of which i told her dont get any ideas about pushing my son into this sport as there is no way on earth i will let it happen of which she said she could say a few things to me but she wont stoop down to my level. The cheek i dont want to fall out with anyone but i think this baby has taken us 2 years to get and should be treated as the special gift that he is.She has made me so angry i dont ever want to see her again and told her that.So where do i go from here??? What do i do?? Am i being unreasonable?

Charleesunnysunsun · 28/08/2006 15:48

I don't think your being completley unreasonable.
Both of your lives will change when a baby is born like every couple and im sure there is alot of sacrifices and changes your making and he should be willing to do the same, it it were me i would ask dp to cut the racing down when the baby is born and i would also tell MIL to but out as it's not really anything to do with her at all!

I'm not great at giving advice but that's what i think, you should sit down without your MIL and chat to your dhwhen you have both clamed down and tell him how your feeling and sort out a strategy.

I hope you sort things out (hugs)

saralou100 · 28/08/2006 16:28

bebbsy, big hugs... your not being unreasonable at all, your bibby's mummy and thats what you do, worry over every little detail of their lives, whats gonna happen and how you can make it perfect for them... but others don't think this way, mil's are a pain for things like this i find, mines a disaster zone! hormones really don't help in these situations either, although she does sound quite rude if she's not even asking after her future grandson!!
take some time to chill out, go find a friend to rant and rave at! drink lots of tea, and then stop and think if she really matters in all this, your dh will do ultimately what he wants to next year in terms of the racing but neither of you will know what thats going to be until then... your lives are going to change so much in the next few months, as patronising as it sounds you can't comprehend it until it is happening to you... have you spoken to your dh yet about it?

OP posts:
DebbsyandBibby · 28/08/2006 16:50

Sara i fell out with him also about it.

podglet · 28/08/2006 17:12

((((hugs)))) Debbsey, that must have been awful for you. You need to talk to DH about it when his mother is not about and tell him how you feel about her never asking about you but making it all about the bike.

Next year (and the end of this one) is going to be a special time for all of us and priorities are going to change for all. You may find that you DH doesn't want to race next year, and I don't suppose your MIL will be able to do much about that

Has she done this before or was this the first time? Hope you are feeling a bit better, don't get too worked up as it won't do you or bibby any good.

Sorry for the essay but I really felt for you!

Hope it helps
