they would certainly be responsible for heavy periods.

try not to worry though - it's good you get to be seen about this asap. Thanks

Jaykay I was referred for consultant led care due to a blood condition which led to a past DVT. The clinic has a a haematology consultant in attendance too so they can discuss my care.

I would imagine that they may do similar in your case with an endocrinologist but it may vary in different areas.

My periods are actually fairly light, and I don't normally get too much period pain. Just a couple of times in last 6 months I've been in true agony - was about to go to docs about it when I got BFP.

Looking on bright side, sonographer said they'd probably want to scan me regularly so extra chances to say hello to the bean!

AuntieMaggie · 19/12/2013 20:36

jaykay no idea but mine wasn't particularly interested in my health issues other than my bmi once she realised they couldn't be passed to baby or affect baby - I thought the point was to check how they might affect me too...

jaykay it is most likely to be an obstetric consultant for high BMI and thyroid issues. He/she will assess any modifications on pills etc required during pregnancy. If they are really generous, they might call you on a joint clinis of obstetrician + endocrinologist Grin

Glad to hear of all the healthy scans.

So sorry to hear that zoe take care

so I've decided pregnacare is making my nausea worse. Forgot to take it last two nights and I feel so much better!!! Same thing happened last week...

Coco I've heard that Pregnacare can make you feel sick. I've been taking the seven seas ones and had no sickness, maybe try those or just the basic folic acid and vit d?

OK I crumbled and googled endometrioma and pregnancy. Doesn't seem to be a complete crisis. Phew. Even if things go bad, doesn't necessarily spell disaster for bean.

Bit happier now. First time I've let myself get excited about being pregnant. Me >> Smile

Coco, I stopped taking the pregnancy multivitamins and started just taking folic acid and vitamin D a couple of weeks back as I think the iron and other things in the multivitamins were causing problems with my digestive system (or at least not helping the pregnancy related problems!). Worth a try?

I was taking the Boots ones rather than Pregnacare though. Maybe I should try Seven Seas.

So sorry to hear your news Zoe. Hope you've got lots of support and time to take it easy. Good luck for next autumn.

Congratulations Coco, MrsA, Five & Plate! And glad to hear your complication isn't too bad Plate.

I had my 12 wk scan yesterday and was all good. Little bean was doing headstands and seems to like using me as a trampoline! I had no idea babies are such gymnasts. Got to see the heartbeat and the brain and everything seems healthy.

Was also my birthday yesterday so sonographer sung me happy birthday. Such a great present seeing our little one wiggling about.

To those on Pregnacare, make sure you're taking it immediately after your largest meal - apparently sickness is worst if you don't take it on a full stomach. This also helps your body absorb nutrients.

My due date's been moved forward a little so 1st July now.

Hope everyone has a nice Friday - roll on the weekend!

Thanks for the lovely messages and congrats to everyone else who had scans yesterday too.

Very sorry to hear your news Zoe - take care of yourself.

Jaykay I won't get the letter for about 7 working days either but they'll call Tuesday if the results come back 1:150 or higher risk. I'll be happiest once I know the full details (control freak here) but at least the worst worry will be over by Tuesday evening.

Great to share a due date with you MrsB!

What a fab birthday present brightonsquirrel (and how sweet of the sonographer to sing you happy birthday).

Must say I was super impressed by my sonographer - we went to an Ultrasound Direct / babybond place and was a bit apprehensive when we turned up (whole place looked a bit tatty and unprofessional) but the sonographer was lovely and calm and reassuring. Had to have an internal scan (to get a better look at the cysts) and it was not at all horrendous, and everything was well explained. Felt like I wanted to give her a hug when I left.

Morning all. Just checking in to say we had a scan yesterday and all was fine, the baby is actually measuring a couple of days older! Also did the usual bloods and the harmony test. Enormously excited that we'll know the gender in just a couple of weeks! Also booked in with midwife and was pleased to hear her confirm our feeling about nct. She said to do it for the social side of things but bear in mind the teachers aren't healthcare professionals and can be rather hippyish... So we'll take that on board! Have a great day everyone!

Just got back from antenatal clinic - sounds like they will want to operate to remove the cysts. Yikes! Speaking to a consultant on Monday.

Ahh plate - how long will you have to wait to find out - do you know?

I just sneezed and it really REALLY hurt! Ouch!

Just had a call from fmc. My harmony results are delayed and won't be ready by Tuesday. I asked if they had failed, and she said no. Just that it would take more time. Hate limbo!

jaykay - I'll find out more on Monday, but I think operation is pretty likely. It sounds generally fairly OK though, as operations during pregnancy go! Most scared about possibility of losing ovaries, but hopefully won't come to that.

Fx for your harmony results - how annoying to be kept waiting. And congratulations on the good scan HomeIs!

zoe sorry to hear your news. Take care. Thanks

Plate hope it goes well with consultant on Monday.

jaykay at least you know that the results haven't failed. Is Tuesday a definite for getting the results?

I had 12 week scan attempt 2 yesterday. In 10 days baby has grown from 40.8mm to 55mm. However, based on the measurements yesterday my dates are pushed back 4 days compared to the dates from the scan last week. I'm seeing the midwife on Monday so I'll discuss with her what date to have.

My scan is on Mon but I'm scared to get excited about it...

Always take your vitamins with food ladies :)
