Elibean, you probably didn't know this, but there is a Bristol, TN. I did a doubletake on your post for a second!

Well, there's good news and bad news. Bad news is...piles

Good news is...I still have my ankles

Elibean · 24/08/2006 20:09

Shame the two Bristols aren't closer, Jabberwocky

As for piles....on and off since 12 weeks here, and on daily Lactulose (which has helped lots). There was once a thread about 'whats the worst thing about pregnancy' and guess what mine was

Olihan · 24/08/2006 20:12

You have my sympathy Elibean. So far I've managed to avoid them in all 3 pgs. There's still 19 weeks to go this time so I'm frantically touching wood (veneer).

Calmriver · 24/08/2006 20:39

Olihan. you cant have 19 weeks to go or you are not due in December. You are due 26th aren't you? you actually have 17 weeks +. I have about 14 and counting down. I am looking really forward to having my new baba to join in all our fun now.

Sorry, didn't mean to pounce, but when I saw 19 I thought how!?
Hope I have made you smile!

Calmriver · 24/08/2006 20:41

Isn't Islington in London too?

If so, we could still all meet up. I would love to catch up with you as I really have to have you explain your 'twist' to me in person! HA Ha

Calmriver · 24/08/2006 20:47

Are we ever supposed to give proper names on here? When we do meet will we be saying 'Hi, I'm Calmriver!?' Anyone listening would think you had lost your marbles! We could do first names at least.

Olihan · 24/08/2006 20:50

Calmriver, you have made me smile. I cannot keep track of how many weeks I am this time. I turn up at the midwives and they ask how many weeks and I say 'don't know, what check up is this? that's how many weeks I am.' Then they sigh and get out their little circle thing.

I think it's a defence mechanism, it's all going too fast and I need to slow it down before the reality of 3 under 3 hits me!!

magnolia1 · 24/08/2006 21:15

Wow there are so many of us quite local to each other!!!
Would be great to meet up, I was near staines today. Went to Thorpe Park and didn't get home till 8pm, 4 kids a husband, sister and brother in law and their 2 kids. It was busy and tiring and my feet hurt but it was a good day. We are doing Chessington World Of Adventures next Tuesday

Carameli: I am the other side of Epsom in Ewell but its not far from Ashtead at all.
Calmriver, Kingston is only a bus ride away
I don't drive which is very silly with nearly 5 kids I will learn eventually but time and money keep stopping me So for now Dh is my lovely Driver

Its a pain coz none of us can really go to the Xmas mumsnet meet up. I know its November but how many of us will want to sit there almost in labour lol

Calmriver · 24/08/2006 21:24

Olihan- you are a very brave woman and I congratulate you in advance!!!3 under 3!!! WOW!

Calmriver · 24/08/2006 21:30

Magnolia- I went through Ewell every week to Holmes Place in Epsom untill this week-Teach swimming. How strange.

We could walk straight past you next tue as we are thinking of going then too! I have a special card thing and have wanted to go for AGES! It's so expensive though!

About the driving!!! I am booking to do an intensive driving course either Sept or October. I am desperate too.
MY DH DOES NOT DRIVE EITHER!!!!! He is in fitness and says it would make him lazy! GROWL!

Calmriver · 24/08/2006 21:32

To jabber and co.

We have webcams!!! We could still meet up and have cyber babies!!!

Olihan · 24/08/2006 21:36

Calmriver, it may be 3 under 4, depends how late this one is. Ds's 3rd birthday is New Year's Eve so if I'm late (again) and have to be induced, he'll be 3 and a week. Still, even I'm questioning the wisdom of 19 months between ds and dd and 16 months between dd and this one.

DH isn't coming near me without a full chemical protection style suit on after this baby's born. I will take no chances .

magnolia1 · 24/08/2006 21:37

Oh I couldn't cope if Dh didn't drive but coz he does it makes me even more lazy

Chessington is expensive I know, luckily my sister in law used her tesco vouchers so we are going for free

If you see 2 women with 6 kids looking harrassed, thats us

spinamum · 24/08/2006 21:50

I was just thinking "won't it be interesting to meet everyone in RL" and when I got back to my computer you were all chatting about it. I'm off the M4 too(sort of)..I'm in Oxfordshire.

Really, really looking forward to meeting my babe now. Roll on the next 15+ wks! (i'm planning to talk Master Bean into a 38 week pg,as I've already done a 42wk one)

Olihan · 24/08/2006 21:52

Hi, spina, how are you feeling at the mo? Saw your thread the other day about the ds2 thing and was wondering how you were doing.

accessorizequeen · 24/08/2006 22:08

ooh, spina, my ds was born at 42 weeks too, this is getting spooky I'm drinking rasberry leaf tea from 36 wks this time.
Ahhh, am in Hull. Sigh.

OP posts:
spinamum · 24/08/2006 22:53

Drink The stuff earlier. I did it from about 35 wks last time.No luck. I just hope that my lack of muscle tone will extend to (not) keeping this baby in and he'll sort of fall out(onto something soft or the expert hands of a midwife) sometime in early Dec

Olihan, i'm cool with the boy thing. Now. Always imagined I'd have one of each and my third(if it ever happens) pg would kinda just me a total surprise(We knew DS was a S from the moment we concieved and we wanted to see if this one was a girl) so i'm was going to do my third pg "blind" and get that surprise thing at the end. It's weird. Never for one moment did I feel disappointment at this Bean being a boy, but I realised that I'm not automatically going to have a daughter and that's weird for some reason. I'm a 30 yr old pharmacist. You'd think I'd have figured out the biology by now!!!

spinamum · 24/08/2006 23:20

BTW I've got a "how to bring on baby" thread on my watch list. When the time comes I'll be going through it carefully and trying every suggestion!
Will obviously share with my Buddies!

weirdbird · 24/08/2006 23:27

Ohhhh spinamum

be my friend

After spending so long doing everything to keep my daughter in last pregnancy I ended up going overdue and "nothing" then seemed to work to get her out!

Am hoping this one will stay in a "tad" longer, like another 3 months..... but a couple of weeks early and missing Xmas would be great!!

accessorizequeen · 25/08/2006 07:51

I'm totally desperate not to go overdue. Because I had a section last time, can't be induced so if I go overdue that's it, another section. I think I'm watching the same thread on bringing on birth, spina...Thing is, I did it all last time to no avail.

OP posts:
Olihan · 25/08/2006 09:16

AQ, who told you there was no induction this time? I only ask because a friend of mine was told the same thing by the m/w - she had a c/s for breech 1st time, but when she went to see the consultant he said there was no reason why she couldn't go to 42 weeks and be induced if necessary.

Maybe it depends on your health authority/reason for 1st section, but I would ask a lot of questions if you really want to try for a vaginal birth this time.

Olihan · 25/08/2006 09:19

Oh, meant to say, I've had a 41 and 42 wk pgs so I am definitely due for a early one this time. Unfortunately, I think I just have a tendency to be late so I'm kind of not expecting anything to happen until after the New Year. I've even told DH that we'ew going to his parents for xmas (140 miles away), just to tempt fate!!!!

Loulou000 · 25/08/2006 10:33

Morningnewspaper I am in (STILL) in Clerkenwell. Not far away! A london meet up would be great.

Yeah, I think those due on boxing day have just over 17 weeks to go now, unless I've miscalculated somewhere!

I sooo hope little one comes out early. Just a tiny weeny bit early, like a week, would be fabulous. But then I feel guilty for wishing that, just in case.

Gloria42 · 25/08/2006 10:39

Am I the only one due on Boxing Day that's desperate not to have baby on Christmas Day?? I feel sorry for people who don't get their own "Special" day for birthdays, they always seem to get forgotten about at Christmas time!

weirdbird · 25/08/2006 11:37

Nope your not the only one Gloria42, but I dont really want to give birth in the week running up to it either, I have friends who have birthdays one or 2 days either side and from what they say it is just as bad, and my dads in the 24th and he was always given joint Xmas / Birthday presents and his birthday always got forgotten in the Xmas festivities.

My solution is that if, all my prodding to come out earlier fails, we will nominate a day in the summer and they will get presents & party then.
