Castles, at that stage of proceedings I used to stick dd on the potty after breakfast, with CBeebies or NickJunior on - kept her still long enough to produce something

After a few days, added on post-evening meal and after milk just before bed - they became regular routine potty times, with story books or dvds (if I couldn't sit and read at that moment) to go with them. All that time, she still had nappies/pullups - so by the time we dropped the nappies, she was well used to peeing/pooing on the pot and all that remained (ha, all?!?) was for her to learn when she needed to go.

I'm sure its horses for courses though - just what worked for us!

magnolia1 · 23/08/2006 13:21

Always have my belly ring in even during a c section!!
Doctors whinge but I don't care. I like my belly piercing but don't want to go through having it done again if I take this one out

Loulou000 · 23/08/2006 14:03

Another interesting stat would be to know where people live. Who knows, we could even meet other new mums in real life if anyone's nearby, once we're babied up, housebound and lonesome! Or are we too internet savvy and suspicious? I'm in central london, anyway.

My belly button still looks just like it did before, piercing and all.

Doc this morning, heard the heartbeat again, welled up again! So lovely.

Elibean · 23/08/2006 14:06

Great sound, isn't it? I love the way it gets louder at each hearing

SW London, me.

Gloria42 · 23/08/2006 14:07

I think my belly button is on the way to popping out - i can now see both piercing holes (including the one that used to be inside belly button) flat on my tum!
I was all worried about lack of movement which pushed me to add my first message yesterday, and last night i thought the World Cup final was happening inside my bump! Typical, eh?
I'm from Glasgow BTW

Calmriver · 23/08/2006 16:17

Thanks Castle for the reassurance!

Morningnewspaper- Well, sex is still going very well thanks, I actually seem to want it ALL the time and can't(DH works of course!)so it's frustrating. My hormones are going crazy!!! Your position you were talking about, well...we tried it, and I felt like I was getting really lost, so we have now decided to stick to me on top! I have control of it all then. ..hee hee hee!

I would love to meet you all! Can you imagine ALL the red faces!? especially mine!!!

Hello all! back from my hols. My dates have changed, now December the 5th, which i'm glad about as dd's birthday is 13th and I would hate them to have the same birthday.

lucy5 · 23/08/2006 21:49

I've got a weigh in tommorrow, ii'm dreading it, as all I seemed to do on holiday was eat

Calmriver · 23/08/2006 21:52

Hey Magnolia- I am in Kingston! We should meet up for a hot drink sometime.?

weirdbird · 23/08/2006 22:38

magnolia1 - I am also feeling on the sex front and of course now I can't its all I want to do!!!

Calmriver & magnolia1 - I am in Staines and would be up for a meet up once babies are out or I am out of danger!

I can't get over the fact that there are 5 of us due on the 26th!!!

Calmriver · 24/08/2006 08:56

Weirdbird and Magnolia-

Sounds good to me when babies are out. I am feeling so shattered at the moment and I know I need to start taking it easier. Very hard too with a toddler as most of you know.

It really would be amazing to meet up.

Don't feel too green, when I was pregnant with DD we never did a thing the whole pregnancy and then for about a year after!!!
POOR GUY!

castlesintheair · 24/08/2006 09:04

I'm in Surrey too or is it West London, never sure? Richmond anyway.
I'm so knackered today I had some weird hallucination (flashbacks, bright white vision, loud rushing in ears) in the shower and nearly passed out. Oooh, dear better put me feet up!!

Loulou000 · 24/08/2006 10:31

Blimey castles go have a lie down!

Carameli · 24/08/2006 13:24

I'm in Richmond as well for the moment.
Hoping not to be very soon, fingers crossed.

I am also potty training castles, have kept inside mostly this week and kept dd with nothing on her bottom half and its worked really well. Although I found out she loves Marmite crisps, so each time she has a success she gets two or three crisps. Total bribery I know but its worked really well and she even forgot to ask for them last night.

I made the point that she was a big girl now and was only going to have nappies for bedtime and she has really accepted it.

Also have to say we tried about a month ago without much luck at all so I decided to leave it for a few weeks which have made a real difference with her.
In pull ups when we go out so taking that a little step at a time.

Elibean · 24/08/2006 14:54

Blimey, Castles, hope you're napping! Very likely tiredness (all that potty training, I've had dizzy spells when exhausted too) but if you get any more bright light stuff, maybe worth just checking your blood pressure? Not saying that to scare you, just a thought!

Carameli, congrats on the potty successes

softymom · 24/08/2006 14:59

We've got the potty and the pull-ups but haven't quite got to the training part of potty training yet . She is getting very good at Kate Adie style constant reporting on what I'm doing, especially in public loos (which of course we have to visit all the time) 'That is the gas coming out of mummy's bottom. Now she is doing a big poo' etc etc. Last week I heard somebody giggling in the cublicle next to us.

My sister said she tried one of those portable potties (in a plastic bag) but her oldest dd always wanted to go in the bushes instead so she ended up carrying a pooper scooper and stash of nappy sacks instead!

I'm in the West Country but moved out of Central London in January so can totally sympathise with all of you who are moving. We've moved 3 times since dd was born and she's only 2.5!

Olihan · 24/08/2006 15:12

LOL Softymum. Ds trained a while ago and is just getting into the obsession with certain body parts. We were in the loos at the zoo the other weekend and I did what I needed to after he'd been.He then announced at the top of his voice 'YOU'RE WIPING YOUR HAIRY BITS, MUMMY'. and I had to walk out of the cubicle past a very long queue of sniggering women. Then, to make matters worse, DH, who was waiting outside, told me he'd heard the comment too. The shame!!

Lucy5, you've got the same problem as me. My ds's birthday is 31/12 and with my record of having late babies, I am absolutely convinced this one will arrive then. Ds was due on Xmas day and I went into labour on the 30th, although he tok forever to be born. This one's due on the 26th so 5 days late...........we'll see. Mind you, dd was 12 days late which means this one would share its birthday with dh. Our timing is absolutely appalling to be fair, if it's early it'll share my birthday (23rd) or Xmas day, if it's late it could share with ds, dh, dh's dad or my grandad. Poor thing.

I'm in Bristol, anyone else down this way? Seems like most of you are further down the M4.

jabberwocky · 24/08/2006 15:48

I'm envious of you meeting up since I'm in Tennessee!

Update on my belly ring saga. Have now just gone back to my original ring and decided that's it. It worked last time, hopefully it'll work this time. Now that it's all red, etc. dh has decided it has gone from sexy to gross

Has anyone else gotten the feeling that when you're pg everyone thinks you are automatically in love with their baby? I had a patient yesterday who brought his wife and baby - in a massive stroller - with him. They were the only ones in the waiting area, yet somehow managed to completely block the entrance to my exam room! (I have a really compact office) After sqeezing my not-so-small body past them several times, I finally gestured to the other five empty chairs and suggested they find somewhere else to sit! grrrr... I think pregnancy hormones have made me either bold or rude - or both!

Elibean · 24/08/2006 16:13

Jabberwocky, sounds like they did'nt want to share you with anyone else!! Silly people, I'd have asked them to move too.

Wow, Tennessee to Bristol...we span the world. I'm in SW13, somewhere between Surrey and Bristol....well ok, nearer the Surrey end

Carameli · 24/08/2006 16:28

whereabouts near Epsom are you? If and its a big if at the moment this sale and purchase actually manage to go through we will hopefully end up in Ashtead.

Morningnewspaper · 24/08/2006 18:03

I'm having terrible trouble posting - it keeps 'hanging' annoyingly. Is anyone else having the same trouble??
Calmriver - I am DELIGHTED to hear that you are happy on top and just think of all the good its doing your abdominal muscles .
I'm in Islington - is anyone else??
