Well done on sorting your life out, AQ.

I've just been nosing about the vital stats page, and feel old.

accessorizequeen · 22/08/2006 15:53

Sorry if I was being smug, I've just been completely apathetic for weeks & sitting on my fat a**e every night so pleased I've managed to accomplish something other than getting fatter.
No, really, twasn't me that setup stats page in first place, I just use it to update the file of when everyone's due rather than wade thru 300 posts! Let's delete age & put something more fun in if you like - favourite things, position hobby, obsession, I don't know.
Really getting interested in this real nappies business, thanks for info softymum.
Elibean, really good news for you, congrats!
Carameli, I started thread in potty training on portable potties (bought one yesterday but no chance to use it) which might interest you? Hope house move continues apace too...

You're only 37 loulou Wait til you have another babe in your 40's like, er, a few of us on this thread.

MNP, funny you should mention that. I was lying in bed last night thinking the same thing. I wanted to poke dh and say "Aren't you getting just so excited?" but didn't b/c I knew he would just give me one of those looks. Men, at least mine, simply don't get it sometimes...

Getting steady movement but no cervical kicks. LO was sideways on both of our scans so wondering if he will decide to just stay that way. No problem if he does, actually, as it's a scheduled section anyway.

Calmriver · 22/08/2006 16:25

Morningnewspaper I love you! Will write in for a nice chat in a few hours, just going to get some food quickly! YAY!!!

Loulou000 · 22/08/2006 16:47

Oh AQ if I sounded as if I thought you were smug, I didn't mean to! I'm really glad to hear some things are coming together for you.

Hehehe thanks Jabberwocky - you are an inspiration! Maybe there is hope for me to squeeze in a second child after this one too.

I am getting really excited too. I so much want to meet the baby. In a way I'm glad I have to have another scan at 28 weeks!

jabberwocky · 22/08/2006 17:03

Yep, loulou, it's more than possible. I was 38 when ds was born

Have to brag a bit, I have now gotten these items struck off my to-do list:

  1. ds potty trained
  2. ds sleeping through the night (he has always been a horrid sleeper )
  3. ds off his "nighty-night" bottle - yes, sigh, my 3 year old was still insisting on a bottle of milk before bed. I think this has had a direct effect on accomplishment #2
jabberwocky · 22/08/2006 17:04

Oh, also, anyone going for a 3D scan? I am seriously considering doing it at about 32 weeks or so.

castlesintheair · 22/08/2006 17:05

Had my scan earlier and the kidneys are normal. Phew, one less thing to panic about!! Calmriver, the sonographer told me (a different one this time) that 99% of the cases are Beanie needing a pee, so I am sure this is the case for you. 'Orrible that you have to wait another 2 weeks though.
Beautiful little Bean and already weighs 1kg (2.2lbs)!
Thanks for the interesting stats thread AQ, have added mine

jabberwocky · 22/08/2006 17:28

Congratulations! I know you are so relieved.

Indith · 22/08/2006 18:47

good news on the kidneys there. One of Bumps was a bit big last scan but apparantly not enough to worry about so I don't even get another scan! Midwife on Thursday though and I have a list of questions for her. Who here has done a home birth before?

Really starting to feel movement quite often now, seems to delight in doing little flips and of course poking me when I want to sleep

Can't wait to move up to Durham and the new flat! I've been in parental home in Hull while DP works in Leeds but now they are back from France and I know I'm going to strangle someone soon! Only 4 weeks to go. Just 4 weeks..........

Morningnewspaper · 22/08/2006 19:29

That's brilliant - I've been panicking about how to squeeze more babies in - I will be 36 when this one is born and I love you all for being so positive about our ages!!!

Yes we're going to go for a 3D scan (or is it 4D??) - they advise between 28-32 weeks for the best pictures. We just thought that it's an experience that we will never ever have again with this baby and we are DYING to meet it!Have I said how excited I am??

accessorizequeen · 22/08/2006 19:42

Pleased I'm not smug, just bossy!
Great news about scan, castles!
LOL at squeezing more babies in, mnp!!!!!!
LOL even more about putting your ages into the stats thread. Favourite sexual position would have been much more interesting

Hmm, for those of you worrying about age....I don't say 'look at me' when it comes to conceiving late in life, because I needed lots of help to have dd (this one too, though this one came a lot easier for some reason) but on the other hand, you can ALL forget about feeling old with me around

I'm so glad the kidney scan went well! Here's to all scans following suit. And speaking of scans, yes, we are having a 4d/3d one next week. A bit early, at nearly 26 weeks, but I'll be getting a standard scan again at 32 weeks for the placenta issue so...the clinic I booked in at said anytime after 24 weeks was ok (though its true the best photos are later, as the babes are fatter).

Jabberwocky, congrats on the ds trio! I've had a good potty day with dd, so hope to be able to say the same soon...she's really getting the hang of feeling when she needs to wee, but the poos still take her by surprise every now and then.

Its lovely, with less anxiety I'm really feeling excited too....oh ok, old and excited...

Elibean · 22/08/2006 21:37

Forgot to say, lots of good thoughts for all of you moving/needing to move/trying to move. Still think you're the bravest of the bunch.

Also, for those suffering: OB gave me hot tip on avoiding the worst heartburn at night - drink lots during the day, and try not to drink anything after early evening or during night: really hard (I'm thirsty at night) but am going to try. Apparently fluids are the worst for reflux.

spinamum · 22/08/2006 21:59

I confess. I'm the nosey one who started the stats. I'm useless at remembering detailsand I needed a referance source! I agree I could have spiced it up a big! DH caught me laughing at fav position and I got all defensive and told him he was imagining it, I was just smiling at him!!

Gosh a girl spends a few days off laptop and I've missed so much chat. Welcome to those who have found us.

Carameli, good news on the buyers. I'm sure you will very happy when the deal is finalised. Roofwise(thanks for asking) we have no developments, but I'm still feeling relaxed!

Has anyone elses belly button popped out yet? Mine had at this stage last pg and although (sorry TMI or TM weird info anyway!) it has filled in a bit,I've still got a non pg navel(complete with piercing scar)

My belly button popped out at about 22 weeks this time, and shows through all my clothes, urg.

beepbeep · 23/08/2006 09:17

Bellybutton not popped out but always seems to look neaar to it - also have the piercing scar!!
Moving house tomorrow - yippee!!!! Though been living in an absolute tip for about 2 weeks now, cannot wait to move, get house sorted & start buying baby things.

Also got my dress through for my wedding yesterday, it is really nice which is such a HUGE relief, don't know what i'd have done if it was horrible seen as i ended up getting this one from USA.

Congrats all on scans (partic Castles), got doc appointment this afternoon, just for checkup, nothing major - just be nice to listen to heartbeat again.

Happy moving Beep! Or at least, as unstressful as possible moving - more realistic

Castles, my dd is 2.8 - but as she's at 'summer nursery' (friend's nursery, she's just going for a couple of mornings this week) today I've stuck her in pullups too. We're definitely making progress, but its fairly slow and steady - two forwards one back kind of thing. Is your dd happy peeing/pooing on potty/toilet when prompted? I went against my finer instincts and succumbed to the dolly-mixture or chocolate button reward system....first time ever...and its worked rather well; dd often forgets to ask for one now - just helped at the start. Though occasionally she'll remember (with scary accuracy) the three pees she did earlier and say 'want THIS many Mummy (holding up fingers), why made three pee-pees the other day'

castlesintheair · 23/08/2006 10:38

Elibean, my DD hasn't done ONE pee or pooh yet in the potty though she's happy to sit on it inbetween. I think I might have to resort to bribery good idea! I would delay but she won't keep her clothes on!!
I like the idea of idea of "summer nursery" I have had my two with me constantly all holiday.

jabberwocky · 23/08/2006 11:04

belly button is definitely on the verge of popping out. Have been really perturbed at my whole belly ring situation. Last time left in my tiny little ring the whole time with no problems. This time was advised to switch to a pregnancy bar. Had trouble getting the darn thing in and now it's all red and puffy. Woke up this morning and the bar has fallen out - somewhere in the bed Think I'm going back to my ring...Why do you guys have piercing scars? Did you let them grow in this time or previous?

weirdbird · 23/08/2006 11:53

I kept mine in the whole pregnancy (pregnancy bar), took it out to change it back and couldnt get the metal one in, then couldnt get the pregnancy bar in either, was too ill to trek off to find someone to help, so it has sorta healed over.

jabberwocky · 23/08/2006 11:56

Mine started to heal over after having ds. I had only left the ring out for 3 weeks . They used this rather large needle type thing to open it back up.

Elibean · 23/08/2006 13:13

Ouch
