I've been eating smoked salmon too - love it and I don't eat meat so it's something I eat quite regularly.

Baby has started kicking every day. DH managed to feel it really clearly today too. I'm still entranced and can spend hours watching my belly. I'm sure that as time goes by and he's keeping me awake then it'll grow a bit old, but loving it at the moment.

Think someone mentioned vivid dreams this morning? I have been having the craziest one's recently - they wake me up early every morning.

bushprincess · 26/12/2013 21:10

rushyswife me too! For those who haven't come across it, she review sthe evidence on which the various food/drink recommendations are based so we can essentially make our own risk analysis... a great resource i think!

JodeyP · 27/12/2013 00:37

Ooooh, like the sound of that book. Thanks for the info.

I'm missing having a nice Baileys night cap which I usually have at crimbo. I had a white wine with dinner yesterday and a glass of buxfizz this evening. I love a bit of port and Stilton too which I've missed this Christmas. Oh we'll, it's all worth it and DH is defo driving next year Xmas Grin.

DS refused his pull up nappy this evening so dreading what will possibly face me in the night. I'm armed with clean pj's and bedding for a quick clean up in due course Hmm

It was me who mentioned vivid dreams impatientlywaiting as mine are also waking me up early in the morning and then I can't get back o sleep, grrrr. They always seem so real!

ClearlyMoo · 27/12/2013 06:45

Hello everyone. I'm a Maybie too! due 10/05/14, first DC, bit scared! MumOf2AimingFor4 you're welcome to add me to the spreadsheet if you see this!

Freaking out and not being asleep because today (at 20+6) is scan day! We won't be finding out the sex, both DH and I stand in the same place on that one. Freaking out about potential anomalies/the fact that I haven't felt it moving, and also slightly worried about my (lack if) pelvic floor strength with this pint of water they tell me to drink on the letter!!

JodeyP NHS guidelines on Stilton have now changed. Checkout the website it says its ok! So get thyself down to supermarket and pick some up!!

Just wanted to say hello. Will try to report back post-scan.

rebeccax2 · 27/12/2013 09:09

clearlymoo welcome and best of luck with your scan!

I have to concentrate really hard to feel the movements. I have to lie down perfectly still, then wait for the baby to do something.. I'm 19.5 weeks. I can't wait for proper movements! It worries me that there will be a nasty surprise also, but I'm sure it will be fine.

My partner can't be with me for the scan so I'm going to get the lady to write it down on a card for me which we can open together when he's back.

Can totally back up everyone's call on the Emily Oster book. It's really excellent.

moobaloo · 27/12/2013 10:10

rebecca I'm the same as you, 19+4 today and think I can feel movements when I lie down on my back at night but can't pick out actual kicks. Can't wait for proper movements!

Scan for me is at 21 weeks - only a week and a half to go!!!

Hope everyone had an awesome Christmas xx

ClearlyMoo welcome and good luck for the scan! xx

dobedobedo · 27/12/2013 11:15

good luck to those having scans! I wish I was having mine again!

I'm in work today - BAH HUMBUG! The baby movements have really ramped up the past couple of weeks - I'm getting the guts kicked out of me as I type. I'm sure it won't be long until you are too moo and rebecca - all the books say it's around 20/21 weeks. Few days to go!

JodeyP · 27/12/2013 11:50

Plenty of movements here though they say that's usual with DC2.

clearlymoo i am so off to buy Stilton! That has made my morning, lol! And best of luck with your scan. Me and DH won't be finding out either though I'm secretly desperate to know but going to keep on waiting until May.

Our big decision is whether to have an elective C Section or try for a natural. I didn't progress past 4cm with DS even after 12 hours of intense contractions followed by epidural and tons of hormones used for induction, I was still 4cm (total of 24hrs at 4cm) and so ended up with an ECS. My sister has had 2 emergency C-Sections and our mum had difficult long labours with both of us. Feel like my brain is saying defo elective but my heart is all for natural! I'm not good at decision making either. Don't think I have to decide for a while anyway but it's definitely playing on my mind.

ClearlyMoo · 27/12/2013 13:10

Scan done! All ok! Soooo relieved and happy. Got an anterior placenta hence not feeling the little one moving too much! Happy x

Chip86 · 27/12/2013 15:13

mrsmummytobe · 27/12/2013 18:00

Congrats on the scan news!

Woohoo I am definitely going to be indulging in smoked salmon in the next few days :)

Well we've just driven 3 hours back from fil's to get home to find no heating or hot water!! I'm currently in bed wearing about 4 jumpers to try & keep warm while dh tries to sort it out! Think our boiler is on the blink :(

ClearlyMoo · 27/12/2013 18:04

Oh no mrsmummy sorry to hear your so cold! We tried to go to John Lewis to buy a new washing machine, we changed our plan when the queue for the car park was back to the dual carriageway!!

ClearlyMoo · 27/12/2013 18:05

Thanks everyone re welcome & congrats! Just so relieved!

randdom · 27/12/2013 18:47

Today has been lovely.

It is my birthday and I am back in London with my family. Plus for the first time in weeks I have had a cup of tea. I still have some nausea but today I just felt that I really wanted a cup! I am hoping that this is the start of being able to drink it again!!

BlanketSky · 27/12/2013 19:07

chip this is quite good, sensible not faddy and dictatorial.

Happy birthday random. It's DS's tomorrow, he'll be 3. Trying to get
the energy to get off the sofa and make his birthday cake but failing... PGP is getting worse and no physio for 2 more weeks, been having it weekly recently :( 4 months to go tomorrow though (elcs!)

Chip86 · 27/12/2013 19:16

Happy birthday randdom & also to your son, blanket! I just started wanting tea again recently but couldn't touch it until about 16 weeks.

mrsmummytobe · 27/12/2013 19:47

Chip whereabouts did you go for all the essentials for baby chip? Think we're going to try & do the same.

Vikks · 27/12/2013 21:28

Hi Everyone

Welcome ClearlyMoo
Happy Birthday Randdom & Little Blanket.

I hope you've all enjoyed a wonderful Christmas and are feeling well.

I've been shopping mad too. I've got my little lady all her bedding today and some cute outfits in the sale. I've still got a cot and pushchair from DS so we only really need a new car seat (isofix this time) and I want a changing table.

I think we might paint her room soon too…I’m just too excited to wait!

I've been very naughty with my food, I must be the worst PG lady. I've had pate, brie, prawns and some cheeky glasses of wine (one which I’m having right now). Blush Everything which I’m not supposed to have tastes sooo good!

BTW 20 weeks today!!!! Woo hoo! And we get to see our little daughter again on Monday, we have our NHS scan. I’m nervous but excited, hope she’s ok.
Take care x
