Good luck to everyone with scans today! Last day in work today yippee! Well actually half a day because we are going to the pub at 1 to stuff ourselves with a huge Xmas dinner :)

dobe my DP felt the baby yesterday too! I was so excited for him, he's been dying to feel it ever since I could and we thought it wouldn't be for ages yet!

20 weeks today!!! I made it half way! Only another 20 to go Xmas Hmm

dobedobedo · 20/12/2013 08:29

20 weeks today here too AliOh! Whoop!

Hezbean · 20/12/2013 09:01

Congrats 20 weekers!

And good luck for the scan dobe!

Woke up lying on my front this morning. Is that bad? I swear I grow a bump during the day and it disappears at night. I always used to wake up on my front but the last week ish it's been too sore so I thought my front-sleeping days were over. It doesn't hurt today. Can the baby get squashed?!

Hezbean · 20/12/2013 09:23

Panic over - just felt a little bit of wriggling. It's not squashed!

Oh god the paranoia!

bluestone85 · 20/12/2013 09:35

I dont know whether to be worried or not - my bump has become squishy and wobbly instead of firm like it was last week Confused

17 + 6

Flixy102 · 20/12/2013 09:58

Bluestone my bump does that too, sometimes it's full and firm and then other times it's back to my usual jelly belly! I think it's very normal for it to change as the baby moves around in there!

bluestone85 · 20/12/2013 10:15

Breaths a sigh of relief thank you flixy :) x

mrsmummytobe · 20/12/2013 10:26

Good plan mumof2, hope it works!

Congrats to everyone who have had scans! Lots of 20 weekers now. I'm 20 weeks on sun :)

Do we still have that stats thread? Think we all need to update it to the sex of our little babies! :)

Hezbean · 20/12/2013 11:19

We do indeed mrsmummy - it's linked at the top of the page.

Nearly the weekend, nearly Christmas, just got one day to get through before 2 weeks off, HOORAY!!

moominleigh94 · 20/12/2013 11:25

Still do idea what Mini Moomin is as legs crossed at the ankles (and up over his/her head Hmm ) I said it's awkward so it's clearly a boy but OH said no, it's awkward so it's clearly my daughter which is true enough Wink

Got some more pictures for free :)

Isean · 20/12/2013 11:41

Lovely news from all those having scans!
Glad things seem to be looking up for all the May-The-Force-Be-With-Us club! Here's hoping it stays that way from now on! Smile

Last day of work today for 2 weeks! Woo! I'm looking forward to trying to get a bit of a rest as I'm still not sleeping for more than maybe 4 hours a night!

21 + 3 and Squishy (our nickname for baby Isean) is a busy wee thing and all the movements are getting stronger and more definite! I've been feeling flutters and movements since about 16/17 weeks, despite anterior placenta Hmm Maybe I just have rubbish tummy muscles!

mrsmummytobe · 20/12/2013 11:46

Thanks hezbean, I'll update now :)

dobedobedo · 20/12/2013 12:32

Hey I'm back from my scan!

It's a boy! Grin

It was quite difficult to see because he wouldn't hold still for a second! He was having a right wriggle the whole way through the scan. Everything looks healthy and well - we even saw his little face and his lips and nostrils - the detail was crazy!

I burst into tears about three times too Blush. Way too emotional!

So happy!

PixieBumbles · 20/12/2013 12:35

Lovely to see more exciting scan news!

My bump seems to have suddenly gone from looking like I just need to lay off the pies to actually looking like a proper baby bump, almost overnight! This has excited me as I was getting fed up of just looking really really fat.

I got told by a colleague this morning that I'm blooming and looking really well. Wish I felt like I was! I think it's because this morning I actually decided to put on some makeup, rather than trying to let my poor, inflamed, spotty, itchy skin breath as I have been doing for the past week. Makeup = looking a lot less haggard = (apparently) blooming!

hobbjobb · 20/12/2013 14:16

Hi ladies, congrats on all the scan news.

I am a bit behind a lot of you at 17+5, I had my 16w midwife appt today and we heard the heartbeat although very briefly as baby kept moving away from the Doppler apparently!
I have been feeling flutters for a couple of days now which is exciting.

Everything is fine but my blood pressure is low, even lower than it was at booking in. Other than a couple of slight dizzy spells, I feel fine though, does anyone else have low BP in pregnancy?
My MW didn't seem too concerned though she said we need to keep an eye on it if it gets any lower.

Also, has anyone else noticed on the stats page that the Chinese gender predictor has been correct very single time except one, that's pretty good odds!

dobedobedo · 20/12/2013 14:25

Just looked hobb - I don't believe in woo stuff of any kind, but that is spooky!

sambababy · 20/12/2013 14:39

Congrats on all the scans ladies! 20 weeks here today too! Our scan went well and we stuck to our guns about not finding out boy or girl. Sometimes I wonder why but it's fun lol!

What's this Chinese gender predictor thing?

PixieBumbles · 20/12/2013 15:27

hobb My BP was lower at 16 week appointment than it was at booking in as well. When I saw the reading I did think "oo-er" as luckily my BP is rarely anything other than perfect (or near to it!) but the midwife commented that it was "nice and low" so I assume it's not a concern

moominleigh94 · 20/12/2013 15:39

hobb mine is up and down. Pre-pregnancy it was a steady 120/70 every time.. it was getting lower and lower and then lately it's started to head up, 141/80 at last count so not worryingly high but I know it's higher than mine has ever been on a check before. Think some fluctuation must be normal though :)

wm3010 · 20/12/2013 16:47

Hi all, have been a bit quiet this week on the thread as had scan this morning and was a bit worried (for no good reason). Anyway, turns out all is well and we're team pink which is lovely! Fab to hear all the other good scan news, it's seeming quite real now!

hobbjobb · 20/12/2013 16:59

I guess low BP is just another weird thing that happens!

Mine has always been on the low side, which I guess is odd for an overweight (now ex)smoker who as on the pill, but today it was 100/60, I don't think it's ever been that low.

sam the Chinese gender predictor is a silly woo thing where the gender of your baby is predicted based on the day of conception! sorry can't link right now but google it and you should find it.

ThistletoeAndWine · 20/12/2013 17:17

100/60 is the lower end of normal in pregnancy

Vikks · 20/12/2013 17:27

Fantastic scan news, congratulations sambababy, dobedobedo, wm3010 & everyone else!

I felt my little lady move with my hand the other day but every time DP tried...nothing. I can’t wait for him to feel her too. I don’t think it should be long she is very active. I think I can safely guess I do not have an anterior placenta!

Have a lovely Christmasy weekend everyone! Xmas Grin

19 weeks today (nearly half way)

RuldolfsFlea · 20/12/2013 18:28

Great news on the baby's sexes. That must be very exciting. I nearly would like to find out now after reading all the posts here. Only nearly though.

Moomin your scare sounded very like mine. Cramps coming all day at 10 minute intervals. I've cut down on all the shenanigans I was up to and haven't had any repeats of the cramps/ braxton hicks since.

19 +1 now and really feeling the movements regularly the past few days. Anterior placenta here too but 3rd pregnancy so no stomach muscles left. I think on my first pregnancy I was 20 weeks before I noticed any kicks.

Going xmas food shopping tomorrow. I hope it is not mobbed.

And tonight I'm having my first mince pie in 4 years. Can't wait. They don't do them here in Finland but a kind relative sent me over 4! Pity that DH likes them too.

Chip86 · 20/12/2013 18:34
