Hello everyone,I've not posted in aaaaages, but I'm still here Grin

Finished working last week and its been so nice to not be rushing around like a mad thing all the time!
I've nearly got everything sorted now...just need to re stock On muslins, and pack my hospital bag (the baby's one is done) although its pretty much ready,it's all in a pile awaiting the arrival of my new bag Grin

My birth plan has changed rather a lot and is now quite a confusing mess, which can only be played by ear...I really hate that as I Need to have a 'plan'.
Basically I was planning a home birth, but a random test showed I was Strep B+,normal procedure would be hospital with an antibiotic drip, But my previous Labours have been quite fast and my midwife is terrified I won't make it to the hospital in time! She wants me to have a home birth and then go into the Hospital for monitoring. Unless I have a slower labour in which case I should go into hospital...

I think I'd rather be in hospital for the whole thing simply as I won't want to go anywhere just after I've given birth and I'm not sure how quickly ill have to leave...but I'm worried about intervention too...If I'm in hospital I'd really like a water birth, and to be left largley alone...but I'm not sure how happy they'll be about that Hmm

Anyway, sorry about the essay,37+1 and beginning to fret!

Hi - I'm jumping in very late as been on January thread. Can a join?? Due either 14/12 or 28/12 (had an updated due date that was then questioned Confused), having a little girl and have a 2.5 yr old boy.

BohemianRaspberry · 16/11/2013 08:28

hey crunchy welcome to the thread!

PistachioTruffle · 16/11/2013 09:05

Welcome Crunchy Smile

I've been awake since 2 this morning. Grump grump grump. Now feel like zombie pregnant woman Confused

Dasie · 16/11/2013 09:13

Morning everyone!

Just popping on to say good luck to Clare today, think I got it right that it's her big day today? Was someone else going in too?? Sorry I struggle to keep up Grin

I'm 38 weeks today! Can't believe I won't be pregnant for much longer. As much as I want to meet baby I will definately miss that special feeling of being pregnant and having sole charge of LO!!

Hope everyone is well Grin

Featherbag · 16/11/2013 09:25

Good luck Clare, hope all is going well so far and progress faster than expectations - here's hoping for a baby by tea time!

No one else get any ideas, it's MY turn next 5 days and counting! Had a lovely meal out last night, DS stayed with my parents to give us one last night of freedom, it was bliss even though he's been sleeping through in his own bed, don't think you realise just how much you sleep with one ear open when they're home! I got 5 whole hours in a row!!

froubylou · 16/11/2013 09:53

Morning all.

Good luck claire hope we have news this weekend!

Welcome crunchie.

Babies are coming quickly now and causing panic in the frouby house. Washed moses basket covers yesterday. Bought nappies and wipes yesterday and some big pants for hospital bag just in case.

am now 35 + 1 and fed up. But also know that I will miss being pg once I'm not. So trying to enjoy the constant heartburn, indigestion, constipation, weeing every hour, not being able to bend etc etc etc.

Happy days lol.

Chelsealady · 16/11/2013 09:59

Welcome Crunchy and good luck to Clare!

Although im only 33+5 getting very fed up now and wish my little madam would make her mind up when she would like to come! The pain is unbearable now.

Chelsealady · 16/11/2013 10:07

Just realised i spelt your name wrong I do apologise!

Alyssa1978 · 16/11/2013 10:49

Welcome crunchy

Good luck for today clare I wish you a speedy labour and delivery Thanks

chelsea I really hope you get some relief soon Hun.

I am so very very very fed up, having contractions this morning, starting in my lower back and making their way to the front, was being sick, loose stools, very full feeling down there, wet and crampy and guess what?...........stopped again!!!

Midwife says its more than likely slow labour and to go get checked if it'll make me feel better but what's the bloody point?? They are not unbearable when they are here and don't stick around for long anyway.
I've had enough now, I don like being teased Wink

Is it next week feather you are getting your cs?

angrybryd I would have been crying too Hun, I can't even start to imagine how devastating it would be to miscarry at all never mind at that late stage.

Featherbag · 16/11/2013 12:18

Help - I'm stuck on the loo with crippling pains! They started about 90 minutes ago, thought I needed a poo but they've gotten worse not better. Now back to sitting on the loo but nothing's happening. My bump isn't tightening or anything, and I'm sure it's bowel related rather than baby related, but I'm starting to get a bit frightened.

UpTheFRIGGinDuff · 16/11/2013 12:25

Okay,where,exactly is the pain?

froubylou · 16/11/2013 12:26

Have you someone with you feathers? Are you sure its bowel related?

I would be tempted to get checked out to be honest. Xx

Featherbag · 16/11/2013 12:30

It's down the left side of bump, but also sometimes around the bottom of it. It feels like I really really need a poo but only had one an hour ago! DH is here and I'm trying not to worry him. I don't have anything to compare it to - my last delivery was 32 weeks head-down, this is 37+ and breech. I'm going to have to go get checked out if this doesn't settle, but I so wanted a nice calm weekend, and DS has just gone down for a nap. Please settle, pain!

UpTheFRIGGinDuff · 16/11/2013 12:31

Call your midwife Right Now

I don't want to frighten you,it's probably nothing, but you must get this checked out right away.

Featherbag · 16/11/2013 12:36

Ringing now...

froubylou · 16/11/2013 12:39

Right hun you need to get yourself in and looked at.

I don't have anything to compare to either but because you are breech I would be overly cautious rather than risk you or the baby.

Best case scenario is you get there and have a big poo and feel a bit silly. You will probably get to hear the heart beat and have some monitoring and stuff. Get yourself off now please!

Alyssa1978 · 16/11/2013 12:43

feather ill just strongly echo what everyone else has Sid Hun, get checked now it could be your placenta. Better to be safe x

UpTheFRIGGinDuff · 16/11/2013 12:44

Good,I'm glad you're phoning Smile Flowers

extracrunchy · 16/11/2013 12:48

Hi everyone!

Good luck, Clare!!

Feather - hope they sort you out at hospital. I reckon there might be two babies today!

Featherbag · 16/11/2013 12:59

Just waiting for my mum to arrive and look after DS as DH is refusing to let me go alone. There'd better bloody not be 2 babies today, I'm getting my hair done on Wednesday!!!

Featherbag · 16/11/2013 13:02

Don't see, thinking about it, how I could possible need another poo, had a huge one at 5am (sorry) then another respectably sized one at 11. Pains are getting worse though. Feel absolutely rotten spoiling everyone's day, we'd only just gotten in from collecting DS from my DPs, they'd had him overnight. Poor DH is in a right state, think he's having flashbacks to last time.

WhisperMen · 16/11/2013 13:24

hope everything is okay with you and baby feather. glad you're getting checked out. better to be safe than sorry

mumoftwoboysS · 16/11/2013 13:31

upthefriggin how fast were your previous labours? My 2nd was 3 hours and I didn't make it to hospital (didn't think I was that far along, mw told me to take a bath etc rather than come in) not sure if that qualifies as worrying for this birth tho midwife hasn't even talked to me about labor/birth yet!

feather hope all is ok- don't want to worry you either but with ds2 I was on the loo feeling like I needed a poo and 20 mins later he arrived! It's hard to tell sometimes!

alyssa sure does sound like labour even if early stages. Good luck and hope it either settles down or speeds up (surely either is better than what you're going through now!)

PistachioTruffle · 16/11/2013 13:34

Feather, hope all is well and you're getting checked out now. Keep us updated when you can xx
