I love the bednest, we may or may not be moving to the other end of the country in the new year so hopefully our Moses basket will do us until then and once I know what kind of space we've got I can sort out a cot of some description.

PinkWitch803 · 14/11/2013 22:22

I will still be waiting for wiggles to make an appearance I am sure of it. I am due boxing day, but DP has money on 6 Jan as arrival date. Certainly not before. And he is not one lose (lol)

MildredH · 14/11/2013 23:00

Ooh that's good to hear Lady- we've ordered a bednest to rent. Although I'm a little worried I've ordered drop off too late at 39.5 weeks!!

Stom91 · 14/11/2013 23:28

My dad things first week in December. Dp thinks 14th and I have the 9th in my head lol so who knows.
My dad isn't usually wrong though. So we will see lol

Morning all
Just scoffed a mince pie and coffee and sat in bed playing on phone lol.

Hello snow. My baby a wriggley one too and switched between breech and transverse too. How come you having elcs before 39 weeks? Hope I don't lol. Am due 20 / 12 and soooooo not ready yet.

Claire how exciting! How far on will you be?

Feel better for my pie and going to have another snooze now lol. Bet baby is up at 5 am every day when he is here lol.

13loki · 15/11/2013 06:22

DH has invited another couple for Xmas, so that makes 7 adults, our 2 existing kids and at least 1 newborn (one of the other couples are due 27th Dec). So I will not bw doing a goose this year, frozwn turkey nd a julbord (lots od swedish nibbles) will do. Will have to get the men to move the downstairs lounge upstairs so we have enough seats.

I need to buy sheets for the pram. I thought I had some, but only 1 has turned up in my obsessive washing of baby things! Rufus will be sleeping in the pram, so perhaps more than 1 sheet would be good.

clare8allthepies · 15/11/2013 06:42

Hi Snow

Frouby I was 38 weeks on Wednesday, so 38+3 tomorrow with hopefully having baby a day later.

Have barely slept at all, going to try to get as much as possible done this morning and then have an afternoon nap, could be my last chance!

13loki · 15/11/2013 07:36

Well, DH has told the people we work with his birth plan - apparently I am going to go into labour today, we'll go into the hospital a bit after 3 (when childcare is easy - our boss has even offered to let us leave the 3 year old with her brother at the afterschool care until it closes so our babysitter has a chance to get prepared, and the receptionist will have her until after school club care starts) I'll have her between 6 and 9, he'll go pick up the kids and take them home hile I sleep at the hospital until the morning when we will be discharged and be home about 10 on Saturday morning with all 3 kids.
He doesn't want to have to have a Monday off for his paternity leave, because Mondays are his easy day at work. Here he can choose any 10 days in the first 60 to have as paternity leave. He also gets at least 60 other days parental leave, which we are using to extend school holidays and go away (they last until the child turns 8)

clare8allthepies · 15/11/2013 07:52

Glad to hear he's got it all planned out! Has he informed baby of his plans? Grin

froubylou · 15/11/2013 07:54

LOL Loki at least he has a plan.

My DP is the same. He has decided now that baby will not turn. I will have ELCS on friday 13th December which is 1 week before my EDD of 20/12. I will be down in theatre for about 10am, back on the ward for lunchtime so he can pop off to get something to eat whilst I am being transferred.

He will then spend a couple of hours with me and baby, come home and pick DD up from school and have a quick shower and change of clothes and back for 5pm for evening visiting with DD.

I will be discharged on sunday morning and we will spend all day sunday together at home.

My mum/sisters/friends/relatives/schoolrun mums/neighbours we don't know/perhaps even the window cleaner will then spend the next week pandering to my every need with a newborn post c section as DP wants to work that week. He is S/E so the wages he earns that week are what we get paid beginning of january so he doesn't want to miss that week at work as he will be off 2 weeks over christmas.

Yeah right pal. Have told him if that happens he will need at least the monday off. DD can pretty much fend for herself if I have the right sort of snacks and sandwhich stuff in, and she can get herself ready for school etc (shes 9) and walk to school and back with the other school mums who go my way. But if I can't get off the sofa or out of bed to deal with a newborn he will have to have some time off.

Having said that I was out of bed within 12 hours of having DD and in the shower, dressed and eating breakfast within 14 hours and down having a ciggie within 15 hours. No incentive to get down for a ciggie this time as stopped but if I did it then in theory I can do it now. Just worries me that I stayed in 6 nights last time and its out after 2 now! Seems awfully soon.

And from DD leaving the house at 8.30am until 3.30pm I would be reliant on visitors to get me stuff if I can't move. Don't fancy it much to be honest.

Getting a bit worried now about Chelsea. And also Daleybump hasn't been around for ages unless I have missed a namechange or something?

Claire baby will be well cooked then at least! Not too early at all.

MrsEllsmore · 15/11/2013 08:10

Just need to share that it's my last day at work today before 2 weeks of annual leave then mat leave straight away, can't wait to put my feet up Smile

LadyMedea · 15/11/2013 08:13

daleybump is still posting on the Facebook group and I've seen another post in Pregnancy from her recently.

chelsea is who I'm worried about.... Didn't like the sound of that blood clot. We also haven't heard from dizzy on Facebook since she went into or labour at 32 weeks a couple of days ago. This has been an eventful thread.

snowqu33n · 15/11/2013 09:06

Hi everyone!
Frouby The hosp only does ELCS on Thursdays and wanted to book it in for me provisionally. We are an hour's drive away and my DH's work is 30mins in the opposite direction, so they don't want me to go into labour and have any limbs start descending!! I am 44, and baby is measuring large (torso is measuring 36 wks already). 39 weeks is preferable for baby's lungs but 38 is safer in my situation. If the baby turns then the situation will be reassessed.

MrsShrubs · 15/11/2013 09:12

Wow can't believe how quickly this has moved since yesterday morning! Thanks for the well wishes my last day went really really well, work bought me a baby on board charm for my links of London bracelet and some pampering toiletries as well as we all went out for lunch (only 25 of us in the firm) then my best lad mate took me out to dinner and some non alcoholic cocktails as he's just moved to London so was a great way to wrap working up! Enjoy your last day mrsellmore

clare that's so exciting not long at all for you to meet little one!!!

MrsShrubs · 15/11/2013 09:13

And welcome snow Smile

Now what to do on my first day off....?

Kitten3 · 15/11/2013 09:17

I have been thinking about Chelsea too. I am hoping that she forgot her phone charger and is having lots of bed rest.
I am having lots of baby cuddles but it is with sick dd who is 22 months and hasn't been able to keep anything down and been complaining of her mouth hurting. Poor love.

Makes me wonder what I would do if I had newborn and poorly baby. I am 37 weeks and go off on maternity leave next week. Whenever I take time off work for appointments the boys at school are always surprised to see me back! No doubt they will think I am off this morning because I have had a baby!!

We are renting the NCT bednest too. We considered buying it too but not sure whether long term it will be financially viable. Looks great for Cs mums. I remember how difficult it was last time hauling myself up the bed to feed baby.

I do feel jealous of all of you on maternity leave. On balance though- all I would do is sit around ALL day and get a sore bottom. I can't even manage an hour on the sofa in the evening without my bottom aching and just wriggling to get into a comfy position.

Two days ago the first person ever offered me a seat on the bus!! Hmmphh. Clearly you have to be over 8 months pregnant for someone to notice you may need a seat.

NomDeClavier · 15/11/2013 09:42

It's so exciting that people have baby dates already!

Welcome snow

I messaged you my FB profile stom - it seems that's where all the juicy gossip is.

I'm a bit worried about chelsea too. Does anyone have her on FB or anything?

I have such a boring day ahead of me. I need to tackle the moud growing in the corners of the windows. It seems you can have a cold and draughty but non-mouldy house or a warm, mouldy one in this town. Everyone I've spoken to has the same problem. Definitely pushing DH to get a tumble dryer in the January sales because we have nowhere to dry laundry otherwise. Also I am a slattern and have 2 dryers full waiting to be put away and tons of laundry backlogged.

Then I need to decide what we'll have for dinner. I have zero appetite and zero inspiration, which is odd because I usually love cooking. Put in an online shop for tommorow, again issues with the general lack of appetite and inspiration.

I also need to knit 10 more pairs of booties in a week Hmm I should get off my butt and do something!

BunInMyOven93 · 15/11/2013 09:50

Heey ladies. Thought id pop on here. Havent posted in about a month! been keeping updated on the facebook group though!! Cant believe people are having their babies already. Im 37+4 and just want her out!!!!! X

13loki · 15/11/2013 09:53

nom My boobie hat is sat in whatever bag I took to work on my last day 3 weeks ago. I only have 2 rows to crochet, but then I need to make another boobie hat and some leg warmers for our Xmas guests who are due 2 days later.
DH and I had the chat about getting the windows replaced here, but I mentioned we'd probably get damp in the house then.

I really should join the FB group, I shall try to message my FB profile, but not sure I can, as a teacher I should have my privacy stuff quite high. Don't want kids seeing the photos of me in bikini and grass skirt very drunk at uni nights out!

PistachioTruffle · 15/11/2013 10:24

Dear me, there are some very impatient babies on this thread! I can't believe clare will be having snuggles by the weekend! Eeep!

I'm glad my DH is not the only one planning when I should go in to labour! He isn't taking official paternity leave as such as he works for himself and won't get paternity pay, but he'll be off at Christmas anyway, so he's hoping I have the baby in the very short period of time (3 days i think) when he has no work booked mid-December or JUST before Christmas, so he doesn't have to miss anything! It's a bit annoying, but we the need the money so it's just one of those things. Also, I'm hoping I have the baby at least a few days before Christmas so we can be home and settled. I don't like the idea of Christmas in hospital one bit!

meandbumpy · 15/11/2013 10:25

Ooh claire that's tomorrow, how exciting! All the best and hope it goes as planned, getting it all sorted over the weekend sounds fab Smile

Hiya snow and welcome Smile

Glad you had a good last day mrsshrubs and enjoy yours mrsellmore

stom that's a lovely story. I met my dp through work and he chased me for ages too, got to test their metal! hehe

I love all these dp baby plans, glad they all have it organised! My dp is a web developer so knocked up this simple baby guesser game for people to predict when they think bumpy will arrive. Have a go if you like, there will be a prize for the best guess! Although you might want to skip the facebook share option at the end as will seem a bit odd showing up in your friends newsfeeds, lol! www.nenasimone.co.uk/baby/

I'm worried about chelsea too, do you think we could get someone at mumsnet to contact her if we haven't heard for a while? Just hope she's too wrapped up RL to get on here and nothing untoward has happened.

Stom91 · 15/11/2013 10:33

nom I've messages you. :)
meandbumpy yeah we make each other laugh everyday. I don't know what I do without him! He has his moments where I want to throttle him though!!

I've been worrying about chelsea too her profile is private so I can't message her either. I hope dizzy is ok too

Had awful heartburn lasts night so couldn't sleep & then got woken up at 7am by the builders down stairs drilling! :(

I'm so jealous of all those having babies xx
