Welcome to the December thread, snow!

I love how all these men seem to think that everything will happen around their plans Grin
I've spent the last few weeks (especially after all these early arrivals!) reminding DP that although I'm not due until 30th December I could go into labour ANY time now!
I think I've scared him a bit though as he's now refusing to let me travel too far on my own or use public transport unless I absolutely have to, just in case...

MrsEllsmore Enjoy your last day at work! And of course njoy putting your feet up at the end of it all!

Nom I don't think anyone has Chelsea on FB as she wasn't part of the group. If I remember rightly she didn't join the thread until just a couple of weeks before posting about going into labour... Keeping everything crossed that her and dizzy and their little ones are ok.

Something amazing happened last night which I just have to share... DP and I finally agreed on a name for our little boy!!! We've had a shortlist of about 5 or 6 names for quite a while now but there weren't any that we absolutely LOVED.
I've been starting to warm to one of them more than the rest recently and then out of the blue last night DP told me that he'd been doing the same... So that was that!
I won't say what it is just yet as there's still plenty of time to change our minds, but I'm just so happy to have finally come to a decision Smile

clare8allthepies · 15/11/2013 11:00

Well DP has rearranged his leave, he's having a weeks paternity starting Monday then 4 days leave going back to work on the 29th (my mum will be up to stay by then) and that means he has enough leave left to have 2 and a half weeks off at Christmas! Grin

Have loads to do before tomorrow but am sat here on my behind (just for a change!)

clare8allthepies · 15/11/2013 11:02

Ooh, itsliz we finally decided on a name yesterday morning, just in time eh? Smile

WhisperMen · 15/11/2013 11:19

Welcome to the thread, snow

Enjoy your last day at work mrsellsmore it'll be great leaving at the end of the day knowing you don't have to go back for ages.

It is a bit worrying about chelsea I really hope she is all right.

aww that is so cute liz me and DP did the same sort of thing and agreed ages ago on names on the agreement that we could offer up new suggestions as and when we wanted. Haven't found anything that we like more than the two we have though.

I feel rough today. Really sick and back ache/cramps to accompany it. I just projectile vomited into the washing machine as I was about to put clothes in. I think I am going to make myself have a quiet day and not do much. Frustrating though as I really wanted to go to town and get some fresh air.

Chelsealady · 15/11/2013 15:16

Good luck Clare!

Sorry havent been on for a few days...i had a massive false alarm! Doctors really made me stress thinking my waters had broke and after having an internal with 4 students in the room it was confirmed i was not leaking!

I came home yesterday with a load of codine for the contractions still only 2cm but in a hell of a lot of pain!

I was maybe thinking last night if the contractions never stop they will induce me at 37weeks...

was so nice seeing all the new born babies got me so excited!

Hope everyone else has been well!

Chelsealady · 15/11/2013 15:23

Oh and just to add iv had all my injections to thin my blood and have another scAn next week to see if the clot is there!

clare8allthepies · 15/11/2013 15:36

So glad to hear everything is ok Chelsea, you had us worried there Smile

Alyssa1978 · 15/11/2013 15:40

Happy you're ok chelsea hope the pain settles for you soon.
Was getting worried about you there.

13loki · 15/11/2013 16:07

Glad you are OK, Chelsea

I have just made a mad dash to get to the locL shop to by milk and have ended up in the pizza shop. I changed my usual order and they asked me a question in Swedish. I have no idea what I am getting now! I really need to learn the language

Stom91 · 15/11/2013 16:14

That's could be helpful loki lol
So so glad you are ok chelsea we were worried!

Those that have joined the fb group are still welcome too :)

Made myself a cheese toastie and burnt my finger :( it stings now.
Feeling rather angry and frustrated today. I just want a temper tantrum and not sure why haha
Just annoyed at the builders being so loud downstairs (hy do they need to Blair their music out?) I have no clothes that for my and just fed up of being pregnant and still have 5 weeks!! = one angry stom haha
Hopefully ill feel better tomorrow. I guess just fed up of wing stuck in a cold flat on my home
Dp is home all weekend everything's is better when he's around

mumoftwoboysS · 15/11/2013 16:34

Glad all is ok chelsea we all thought you'd had your baby I think!

stom I'm feeling a bit like that ATM. Yesterday I had major rage- no idea why but everything was pissing me off. I had a bit of a tantrum (well I pummeled my hands into the duvet and screamed a bit) kids just a handful, DH out again tonight (The start of Xmas do's) and both kids had accidents. Ds1 is 4 so no excuse, can forgive 2 yo but worried he's regressing as that's 2 accidents in 2 days and ed only been I pants for a few months Confused

Oh well am stuffing my face with apple cake now which is my substitute for wine (cakes or icecream have taken the place of a nice glass of wine)

So sick of being pregnant now!!

PinkWitch803 · 15/11/2013 16:36

So glad you are ok Chelsea. we were really worried about you.

Roselau · 15/11/2013 16:52

Ah chelsea good to hear you're ok!
Welcome snow

loki swedish sounds like a really painful language to learn... Good luck with that ;)

Isn't crazy that the majority of us are on maternity leave? seems like yesterday I was worried about the first trimester scan and complaining that I was not gaining any weight - well that came to bite me in the behind! I gained almost 20lbs. Let's hope a lot goes out with the baby.

stom I hadn't sent my FB because I didn't need another channel to waste time on while I was still working. But now that I'm not, I'm trying to find out how to send you a PM and get added.

MrsShrubs · 15/11/2013 17:06

So glad you're okay chelsea

Think I'm more exhausted today than I was when I was working, worked for 2 hours in the nursery trying to put things away but have definitely lost that battle today Sad as well as trying to sort out the house. Feet are up now though until time to do dinner.

Stom91 · 15/11/2013 17:06

mum glad I'm not alone. I had milky bar buttons lol. My mum got drunk last night she had 3 bottles of wine shared with another person!! I'm so jealous. ( tbh she never drinks so does her good to have a laugh.) I did laugh at her when she was sick this morning lol.

rose il add you in. I like it because it's nice to put a face to the names. We're like a lil family on there!

WhisperMen · 15/11/2013 17:14

oh chelsea so glad you're okay. We were all worried about you! Glad everything went well and hope you get lots of rest and relaxation.

mum I'm not missing alcohol that much really because I wasn't a big drinker before, but I am missing the fact that I can't get ratarsed with my friends even if I wanted to. I went out with them a few weeks ago and they were all drinking and I was sat with my diet coke feeling like a spare part.

I love the facebook group too. It feels more of a community than this thread, which doesn't make sense because it's the same people on both...
One thing I am not going to miss from pregnancy is the seemingly never ending vomiting I do. It's like my belly just doesn't want to digest food and no matter what I eat it either comes straight back up, or sits there for a few hours making me uncomfortable and then decides to make an appearance. Pissing me right off.
Anyone else watching children in need tonight? I have a date with the sofa, my jammies, a snuggly blanket and a big pot of peppermint tea. I am so rock and roll it physically hurts. People can't keep up with the crazy lifestyle I lead Hmm

Stom91 · 15/11/2013 17:20

Haha whisper you do make me laugh!
I hope the sickness goes!
At least we are slowly getting closer to our due dates now.

OP posts:
itsliz · 15/11/2013 17:31

Whisper I've told DP not to let me anywhere near Children in Need tonight. We watched the CIN DIY SOS special the other night which made me bawl my eyes out and some of Children in Need Rocks last night, which was great when the bands were on but again, there were tears when they showed all the cute kids and babies!
All I can say is don't watch it if you're feeling teary or the hormones are playing up Grin

Clare I'm so glad it's not just us that have left it to the last minute to decide on a name! It's so nice to have such a hugely important thing ticked off of the 'to-do' list, isn't it?!

Chelsea Thanks for the update, I'm so, so glad to hear you and your little one are ok Smile You had us worried for a moment there! Hope you manage to get plenty of rest now that you're back at home.

I love our Facebook group and (without wanting to sound too soppy) I love how close and chatty we've all become over the last few months. Not sure what I would've done without having so many other like-minded ladies to save my sanity and share this little journey with!
Being due on 30th December I was considering joining the January group instead but I'm so glad I didn't now - you lot are so much nicer Wink

MrsEllsmore · 15/11/2013 18:06

Good to hear you are ok Chelsea.

My last day at work went ok, got lots of lovely presents, not sure people are ready to take over my projects yet but to be honest it's not my problem any more so I don't care! Grin

Roselau · 15/11/2013 18:28

that's the spirit mrsellsmore!
I felt the same when I left, worked by butt off to give a solid transition plan, etc, and still felt like everything was going to collapse, but you know what, not my issue. Enjoy the presents and the time off, it'll be time to go back soon enough.

mum I am so so so ready for that glass of wine. perhaps one of the hardest parts of pregnancy for me. since I'm going to try and BF, I can't really drink when she's out though...

anyway.

So i started looking at diapering etc. What's everyone doing? I think I want to give organic cotton diapers a shot, as I feel like they are probably a bit more effort on my part, but much better for baby's bum. plus at the end of the day, if I can make it work, it's cheaper and better for the environment. thoughts?

Roselau · 15/11/2013 18:38

I just scarfed down a rice crispies squared covered in chocolate. most decadent snack ever. baby loves it, she's going crazy - all that sugar I guess.

I had a pear too, just to make it 'healthy'. right. i can't believe how much I'm eating these days!!

NomDeClavier · 15/11/2013 18:43

rose I cloth bummed and thoroughly recommend it. Will be reusing them this time!

Wine I'll be having some when BFing. Drink it towards the end of a feed and it'll be gone by the time you next need to feed Wink

Glad you're alright chelsea hang in there and keep us posted!

mum I hear you with the accidents! DS has been really bad all week Hmm and I have no idea why. Maybe it's the weather? [hopeful]

I want a cheese toastie now stom but we have no cheddar, no sliced bread and no toastie maker.

clare8allthepies · 15/11/2013 18:45

One if my friends used reusable nappies, it actually worked out cheaper than disposables especially if you have an efficient washing machine. We've only got a flat though and no space to dry them indoors so not really an option for us

Alyssa1978 · 15/11/2013 18:57

Feel all left out now, sounds like everyone is oing the Facebook thing Sad
