let's hope this is it for you alyssa - you've been teased enough!!
crossing my fingers for you

PistachioTruffle · 28/11/2013 20:16

Fingers crossed for you Alyssa, keep us updated!

froubylou · 28/11/2013 20:28

Oooh alyssa lets hope its your turn darling.

Have you got your bags all ready. Notes to hand and phone charger? We must be due another baby anyway, it's almost the weekend!

itsliz · 28/11/2013 20:35

Ooh good point frouby! The race is on now as (for those of you not on the FB group) DaleyBump is in hospital and having her waters broken this evening... Wonder if you'll beat her to it Alyssa?! Grin

Gannetgob · 28/11/2013 20:36

Sounds exciting Alyssa, hope this is it!

I don't really feel right. I have been on the loo a lot this evening and I think I have some low down pains - I don't know whether its just in my head though.

DH is working away tonight, so if it is going to be any night, sods law it will be tonight!

I don't think it will though. I just feel strange. Not ill, just a bit strange.

Anybody else have anything going on tonight?

Gannetgob · 28/11/2013 20:40

I feel like I need to get in on the facebook group at last. I know this question has been asked a bazillion times, but who do I ask?

Alyssa1978 · 28/11/2013 21:02

Lol itsliz I doubt I'll beat her

Definately think its real contractions as they have not stopped and are around 6/7 minutes apart lasting 50 seconds but I know I won't phone l+d until the last minute as I still will be thinking they'll laugh at me and say its only BH so go home lol and last 2 labours lasted 24 and 25 hours Confused

Thank you everyone for your kind thoughts xx

Alyssa1978 · 28/11/2013 21:02

frouby yep bags all ready and mum on standby to watch kids and notes all ready. I just need to be able to go in lol

UpTheFRIGGinDuff · 28/11/2013 21:04

Feel weird tonight too...have done since I got back from IKEA...lots of BH...back ache... really want to be alone, but i felt really anxious when DP left the house Confused

Nothing regular though, and they aren't getting stronger,so it's probably nothing.

mumoftwoboysS · 28/11/2013 21:05

Exciting alyssa sounds like the real thing! Just don't leave it too late like I did!!

UpTheFRIGGinDuff · 28/11/2013 21:13

Do you have a birthing ball Alyssa?

Might help move things along... Grin

Chilli81 · 28/11/2013 21:22

wow alyssa that's pretty regular. I was told that for second and subsequent children it's more like 2 contractions in 10 mins ie every 5-6 mins before you should go in. make sure you don't leave it too late.
I've been contracting pretty irregularly all day but they have been getting slightly stronger and more regular in the past couple of hours. still about 15 to 20 mins apart though so don't want to get my hopes up.
can't remember who asked about evening primrose oil but I started taking it orally at about 34 weeks and inserting at about 36 weeks at night. not sure if it made any difference but I figured out couldn't hurt. when I was examined yesterday doctor said my cervix was very soft. no idea if it had anything to do with the Epo.

PistachioTruffle · 28/11/2013 21:39

How many weeks are you Alyssa and UpThe? My mild cramps from this morning have gone completely and I'm back to feeling totally normal.

Alyssa1978 · 28/11/2013 21:44

I'm 39+3 days today.
Gonna time them for another hour and see what they are like and phone up, they are getting stronger but no waters gone or bloody show that I've seen.
Shit loads of pressure too

Stom91 · 28/11/2013 22:10

Can someone explain about the evening primrose oil in your foof? Do you just buy the normal oral tabs and then put them up there? What does it do? Sorry I'm so new at this

Hi. Hoping to join in with you ladies during these final days/weeks! I'm due 11th Dec with my second baby, so 38w1d today. Completely fed up and desperate for pregnancy to be over, as I'm sure most of you are!

Dusty04 · 28/11/2013 22:29

Another December group in hospital here! No baby on its way yet though by the looks of it.

Went for a scan today to check if low lying placenta had moved.. Turned out to be an internal scan, wasn't prepared for that! As they finished the scan loads of blood came out, I asked if this was normal to which the sonographer replied 'I've never had that before!' Thanks for the comforting words!

Taken to day unit, internal exam fine and they think it's cervical erosion causing the bleed. During this exam apparently I have strong muscles and will push this baby out no problem, we'll see!

Hooked up to a monitor for 2 hours, babies Hb fine, but my uterus was being 'niggly'.. Had terrible backache from being laid down too.

Doctor finally saw me and said they wanted to keep me in in case was pre term labour (am 36 weeks today) but wouldn't give me steroids as babies lungs would be ok if it happens.

On a ward now, more monitoring just finished and DH gone home.. Everything looks ok but still a bit of bleeding do who knows if I'll get out tomorrow!

What a way to spend my first day if maternity leave!

Chelsealady · 28/11/2013 22:38

Welcome MrsS, oh no sounds as if you been through a lot Dusty hope your back pain goes soon and things get better.

Any new Alyssa?

Stom91 · 28/11/2013 22:45

welcome mrsS
Oh dusty sorry to hear that. But if baby is born at 36 week he/she will be fine :) my consultant said babies are fine after 34 weeks. My brother was born at 36 and he's now 6ft tall. Duno where he got that from as I'm only 5ft 2 and my parents aren't tall either lol.
Hope you get some answers and get home soon :)

I'm still feeling really sick and coughing up sick bit I'm not sure if it's from coughing or if I've not got a sickness bug.
Urgh feel awful

Dusty that's no fun Sad hope you're managing to sleep in hospital.

I just did my first internal dose of EPO. Ahem. Not sure it's anywhere near the target. Can't really reach...

Stom sorry you're feeling rubbish. Are you making sure you're getting lots of fluids?

Hi MrsS!

13loki · 29/11/2013 00:30

Did I win? She's here. 21:12 our time, so 20:12 in England, 28th November. Niggly pains from 3 pm, regular every 6 or 7 minutes but only 30-45 seconds from 5. Called baby sitter about 6, got to hospital about 7:30. I was 5-6 cm. Re-examined at about 8:50, 6cm, devastated. Got up off monitors to go to the toilet, stayed upright, went from 6 cm to holding baby in 20 minutes. I'd left the tens machine in the car, so it was 2 paracetamol and gas and air for pain relief. Now on ward with one other mum and baby until morning. They both snore.

violetbean · 29/11/2013 00:42

Congrats loki! :-) very exciting news.

Good luck to those of you having contractions etc, hope all goes well!

13loki · 29/11/2013 01:24

Oh FFS! I want to sleep. I can lay on my tummy. My baby is sleeping. She fed for nearly 2 hours after delivery. And now I am on a 4 bed ward with a screaming baby across from me. And the mother keeps leaving it to go to the toilet. I want my 6 hour discharge from hospital.

I shouldn't grumble, but I am tired and achey, I didn't take the paracetamol they gave me after delivery because it was too close to the dose I took at home. And now the midwives have taken my baby away to check her blood sugars because she was 9lb 10. I have told them she is not having formula. Poor little (big) mite is already like a pincushion. She is 5 hours old and has had 3 blood tests and vitamin K.

LadyMedea · 29/11/2013 02:14

Congratulations Loki! I hope you manage some sleep and hopefully they'll let you out first thing.
