New thread for our little junebugs!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Hi, I'm a total newbie - new to MN (and the acronyms - bear with me!), and new to pregnancy!
By my newbie calculations I would be due on June 16 but have a docs appointment on Thursday.
I got my BFP on Friday, after TTC since June, but then found out my Granny was dying on Sunday. Had to go and say goodbye at the hospital yesterday (managed to tell her my secret tho), but it has been a roller coaster few days! Literally life & death.
I have enjoyed watching the expecting list on this thread grow tho; please can I join in?!

MAgirl75 · 16/10/2013 03:03

Is anyone having headaches? I've been having nausea in the mornings (and some afternoons) but I've been getting headaches. I had to stay home today, I felt so bad. I have an ultrasound on Friday - first one - and I'm freaked out about it. This is my 4th pregnancy, and I've already had three miscarriages. I'm convinced I will have no heartbeat on Friday, and I don't want to go through it again. It would be nice to pull this one off. :-S

MAgirl75 · 16/10/2013 03:05

Eliza, I'm sorry to hear about your gran. That is really tough.

Bumblebeesmum · 16/10/2013 05:40

Hello - due June 26th (ie just found out!) :)

ohcluttergotme · 16/10/2013 06:21

Wow loving the list, so many due June babies!!
Eliza so sorry about your Gran, think it often works that way as one goes out a new life begins. I was in labour as the rest of my family were at my nana's funeral then they came from funeral to visit my ds!
MA75 really hope you hear heartbeat at your scan x

grainofrice · 16/10/2013 07:12

Hello!!! I've been given a variety of due dates so far 2 June, 1 June and 30 May!!! This is my first preg and I'm certainly not expecting the little bean on its due date so I think the June Board is the safest place for me!!!

Can I play?? ??

typhoonsmum · 16/10/2013 07:58

Hello all. If I got this right this is the new due in June thread. I have been awake for 20 minutes and a little bit fuzzy still. So I have decided to call the doctors and make the appointment to book in. Was going to leave it till 6 weeks but my friend is getting married on that date and as the maid of honour I may be a bit busy at the end of this week.

typhoonsmum · 16/10/2013 08:00

Btw due June 14 by my calculations

CleverOl10 · 16/10/2013 08:22

Welcome all. Loving how many June babies we have!

I'd forgotten about the permanent pregnancy cold. Sniffing and sneezing here. Presumably it's due to pg as last time I was like this all through.

Happy Wednesday all.

VickyVix · 16/10/2013 08:57

Morning, welcome to the new ladies, lots of June babies. I am a Junebug myself so v excited.

MAgirl I have had headaches since last Friday, I'm soldiering on through but this is the sixth day I've woken up with a headache, just a dull thick ache across my forehead, I am guessing this is a preg symptom?! Hormone changes etc. Have just been trying to drink a lot of water but that makes me pee a lot! I'm 5 weeks today.

No nausea at all and my boobs don't even hurt (feeling a bit left out!) but I did another HPT this morning and got a strong BFP so the bean is still there. This is all so nerve wracking!

So pleased to have MN I really have an urge to tell some people but I want to wait until after first scan..... it will be so obvious with my non drinking though, not sure how I'll get round that one yet! :)

VickyVix · 16/10/2013 08:58

Oh and clever I have the snotty nose, sneezing thing too - I had no idea that was a symptom!

adaloveslace · 16/10/2013 09:17

Welcome typhoon, grain and Eliza.

Sorry to hear about your gran Eliza - such a sad time, but it's wonderful that you got to tell her your news. I still miss my gran, and she's been gone 15 years but I see a lot of her in my daughter.

The permanent sniffles are a major symptom for me too Vicky and Clever - it's how I immediately clocked I was pregnant last time around and a fairly big clue this time.

My best non-drinking tip is to not say no, let them fill your glass, and then just leave it in front of you all night. No-one ever notices, and if you get a quiet moment, you can tip it all into your DH/BF's glass. I got away with an entire hen weekend like this and no-one was any the wiser.

Finally got my 3+ today...put off testing until I was sure I'd have to get it!

MTMD · 16/10/2013 09:21

MAgirl I have been waking up with headaches too.. In fact I have a really bad one today! But then I suffer from chronic migraines so I don't know if this is pregnancy related or just normal silly me.. I have been taking paracetamol extra although I'm told I could take my migraine medication as there is no proof they're harmful to the baby. Yet no proof it's ok either! I might have to take them occasionally I'm afraid as my work has me on 'attendance management' as it is. All thanks to the migraines.
My neurology consultant said first trimester will probably be 'horrendous'. Nice to know! :)

MTMD · 16/10/2013 09:27

Eliza really sorry about your granny. So good you managed to tell her though!

In a risk of sounding a little silly, I've noticed that all babies in my family follow a bereavement.. All. And when my great aunt (we were clise) died this July I even thought - our turn? Blush

Bezzabelle · 16/10/2013 09:30

Hi MTMD they cannot use pregnancy related sickness against you at work apparently! I've been signed off for four weeks with hg and it won't be used in my sickness record which is a huge relief. Today is rough, been up since 4am throwing up. Just yellow bile (a bit like egg yolk) so my stomach feels tender and horrid.

MTMD · 16/10/2013 09:31

As for keeping secrets, I hope it won't be too hard as I don't drink (migraine trigger) and often feel a little nauseated (migraine drug side effect) [hmmm]

Happy Wednesday and apologies for a spam. currently waiting for my Gp app, though I've just been told they will kick me out as I've moved 0.5 miles outside catchment area! :(

MTMD · 16/10/2013 09:35

Bezzabelle, really? Good to know! Although I wouldn't be too sure, our hr is known to mess things up!

Sorry to hear you're so sick.. Get some rest and rest assured your bean is super strong and kicking (figuratively speaking). :)

VickyVix · 16/10/2013 09:39

Good plan with the drinking (well obvs not drinking!) I hadn't thought of that approach! :)

noseymcposey · 16/10/2013 10:48

Hello another hopeful June-ite here. Got my BFP a couple of weeks ago but thought I'd come out officially as the symptoms seem to be starting now and it's beginning to feel more real. My apparent due date is 10th of June (I am also a June baby so it's exciting to think of a June due date - June birthdays are excellent!) I have an exam scheduled for the 6th of June which would be cutting things somewhat tight though! I already have a DS who is 2.5 and I am much more relaxed this time round than I was with his pregnancy :)

NessieMcFessie · 16/10/2013 11:07

I am getting the morning headaches too...awful. I am trying not to take anything. Spent the day with really bad stomach cramps too - and just generally tired and grumpy! Off on holiday on Saturday so hopefully that will cheer me up!

mumof5plusazoo · 16/10/2013 12:27

Thanks for starting the new thread Wispa.
ELISA I'm sorry about your Gran, I'm glad you managed to tell her though.
Wow our junebug list is getting really long now.

CleverOl10 · 16/10/2013 12:30

Welcome nosey :)

ThreeFromDesire · 16/10/2013 12:32

So sorry Engels and Eliza xx

MrsGasMan · 16/10/2013 12:47

Hi everyone, can I join please? I am due 17th June with number 2. My two closest friends have been TTC for over a year and so I don't want to bore them with every twinge and symptom, but really need to chat! Especially as I have a DH who refuses to get even remotely excited until he sees a little thing bobbing around on a scan!

Eliza, sorry to hear about your Gran :-( I was pregnant when I lost my Grandad and I have to say it did really make me think about the circle of life.

I am soooo tired today. I'm so glad it's not just me with a permanent pregnancy cold - I was also exactly the same last time I was pregnant, but it hadn't occurred to me that it was a symptom - I just assumed my immune system was rubbish!

MrsGasMan · 16/10/2013 12:55

Oh and nosey, 10th June is my Birthday :-) You are right, June babies are the best!
